Here's another article about it
With a little video blog dealie by the ftm student. Sounds like he's found some amazing friends:

Some things...
Some things many may not be aware of - that makes the event a wee bit less surprising (but no less awesome).
This occurred at Emmerson College... Smack in the Theatre district of Boston and most students are in/into the arts. A friend's son went there... The friend used to joke that some how, his son found the only straight girl there to be his girlfriend. *shrugs*... But, my experience has been that theatre people (in general) are VERY accepting of diversity.
Another point is that it's not uncommon for frats/sorrorities to do fund raising activities to help out a brother or sister with medical issues.
Had this happened at some ultra right wing/conservative christian school, I'd have said it was a miracle. At Emmerson, it's not a miracle, but it's a wonderful thing!

If The Donations
Now total $17K or more and his top surgery costs $4.8K or 8K (#s from the 2 videos) he should get his hysterectomy done or have the money saved for the next TS that comes along. I think not just Emerson and the frat were excellent, but also they were in Boston, a good liberal area which draws many liberal students and college staff.
BTW; In 1968 I went on my first date with a girl from Emerson and we went together for a while. I didn't get a car till summer of '69 which I then drove to MIT in the fall. With no car, I would bike to Emerson to see my GF. We stopped seeing each other because she was shy (which was fairly normal) and I was so shy that I couldn't get up the nerve to kiss her. It got frustrating.
Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee
