I just heard some very sad news a few minutes ago. Wren Phoenix passed away this afternoon. I will miss her and her wonderful friendship. Sending prayers to her family and all the friends who were blessed to know her.

Yes, she did encourage other writers to keep on writing and she will be missed here.
Oh MY FRIKKIN GOD!
...
I came back and edited this. I do have to say something. Wren was a brave girl. She fought as best she could to be herself. One thing she did emphasize while draining away in her hospital bed, while I was on the phone with her, was to do something while you were here. And that's exactly what she was doing - writing. She left us something of herself we can all still go back to and look through.
Don't waste your life away hiding and wondering. Step up out there and live it. Do what it takes to be you and get out of the damn closet. Live.
Experience Life.
Remember Wren.
[Second Edit: I had to post this link. I listened to this just before I went to sleep this morning and woke up at 9 pm tonight. In retrospect It is so fitting for Wren. :*~~~~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS9jwKr4QCI ]

ps: I am dedicating the 2012 One Winter's Eve Story Contest Officially for her. It was her time to shine and all my work and efforts to poke and prod our authors should be for her.
I just don't want anything to happen to Erin. I can't go on much less do anything if she wasn't here!!!
Oh Goddess
I pray her soul finds rest and happiness and she is now who she truly was inside. May the creator keep her safe and she has her rest.
Farewell Wren...

Farewell sweet Wren
Fly high, you beautiful bird. You were here too shortly. May your body now be everything that your old one wasn't for you. I'll miss you... i already do. **Sigh**
Sighs are the natural language of the heart.

She's at peace
The biggest, most overwhelming realization for me since I heard this news was "She's at peace." We talked a lot about her life, and while out of respect for her privacy I won't repeat any of that here, those that knew her well already know anyway :-)
She was a gentle spirit, who even when dealt one bad hand after another, continued to shine like nothing I've seen. I have no doubt that the tribulations of her life are balanced by what lies ahead for her.
We love you Wren, and we'll miss you. You touched a lot of hearts, most especially mine. *hugs*
Love,

What a loss
Like all of us, I'm so saddened by the loss of Wren. She checked all the boxes--fine writer, supportive of other writers, and a kind and gentle person. Those of us who corresponded with her have our memories; those of us who only knew her through BCTS should go back and reread her writings to mourn her loss and celebrate her contribution to our lives.

I have had a few comments
I have had a few comments from Wren but the one that means the most to me was when she told me to get back to writing because she was looking forward to reading them. That really made me feel good about my writing.
