Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe responds to anti gay marriage Maryland politician. The Guardian gives a link in the blog to the full letter, forthright doesn't quite do it justice.

Shall we say "Blunt"?
Saw this on FB, one of the groups I subscribe to is PinkNews.co.uk Funny how much U.S. stuff ends up on there, it's a great site to keep up with LGBT news! Kluwe lays a major smackdown on that bigot!

The full letter
I read that from Ang's link, and the initials RAFLMAO barely begin to do it justice. From "you may want to hire an intern to help you with the longer words" through to a whole sequence of acerbic, accurate and very rude strikes to the target, this is wonderful reading.
Pity, as the writer nakes very, very clear, that the target is too fundamentally braindead to understand the message.
And in the interest of fairness
Here is a link to the letter that started this whole thing:
MD Rep Emmett Burns' Ayanbadejo letter
Never let it be said I was not a gracious person, nor that I didn't give others enough rope...
Thanks Angharad
Pretty cool. My guess is that Emmett C. Burns Jr. is not getting the response he hoped for.
I've often wondered ...
... what the objections are to gay marriage. I think I'd only object to it if it became compulsory. How gay marriage has any effect on those not directly involved I'll never understand. Don't know about the US but in the UK no organisation will be required to marry same sex couples yet elements of all religions including various Christian sects are objecting strongly for some reason.
Great letters though, from both American football players and blunt seems an inadequate description.

The problem
That is part of the problem with American politics - Narrow minded racial bigots get elected and try to instill thier good warped christian values on the rest of us.
A gay marriage case in point is the charater that played horshack in the sitcom Welcome back Kotter just died he was in a relationship with his partner for 41 years. I have a cousin who has been with his partner since high school about 30 years . Some straight marriages don't last 10 years and then the kids become ping pong ball
Enough ranting you get the idea just being here at BCTS I support LGBT & same sex relationships
Like the famous late Rodney King said "can't we all get along"

American bigotry out of control.
One American Governor has reportedly stated that he is anti-abortion even in rape cases because he read "somewhere" that the female body knows if it was truly rape and deals with it on it's own. Ignorant? Boy-howdy.
Here's a memorial to an American icon:

Governor
That is actually congressman Todd Akin
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19319240
Perhaps Mr Kluwe should write to him as well.
The rest of the story
Congressman Akin was asked by many top GOP officials, including Mitt Romney, to withdraw from the race. He refused, and the GOP withdrew fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) it had previously committed to his campaign. Other big donors have also withdrawn their pledges. I also heard some TV stations have dropped his campaign ads because they claim he hasn't paid for them, a claim his campaign disputes. I think Congressman Akin has got a long, hard road ahead of him.
