after a busy summer of fun, I'm starting to get back to writing. This is hard after an eight month absense.
I am reworking/rewriting Princess and the Jock. I'm going to try something new with it since a majority of you hated what I was doing with it last time. of course you may not like it this time either, we'll see.
It may be a while before I post any of it because I want to get at least a dozen chapters written before I begin posting.
Just wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten the Saga of Erika. ; )

A comment on the original
Frankly I think the issue with the original version of Princess/Jock that made it unpopular is that it was probably more suited to a non-serial, single release format. Or if in a serial format, released in a fast, regular schedule because the way the storyline twisted around so much it was demanding on the reader to remember everything that had come to pass when a new chapter comes out.
While it is interesting to explore Eric/Erika's doubts the merry go round of changes from virtually chapter to chapter does not give the reader an opportunity to latch on to anything coherent and then there is the long wait to try to figure out when some coherency returns.
Oh and I can't wait for all the snarking from the Erika was brainwashed crowd ... NOT! I noticed they have not been making much in the way of comments of late anyway on any stories. It would be good to figure out the end of all this and let out protagonist finally live out his/her life. Though I still can't stand her mother at this point.

After the relative *certainty* of the previous two *books*, the real world feel of them, the third book of her saga was sometimes confusing. Which reality was real? Her as an adult trans woman or the football hero? Or was this all some post opperative dream?
If I recall both got the girl. Though was it the same one?
But in one life things turned out well for some of her friends in the other some very bad things happened along with the good.
So what was reality and what was his or her dreams/nightmares?
I suspect the uncertainty of it, the big swing in POV between Erika and Erik is what upset some readers.
I keep reminding myself the second *book* ended with her getting or being prepped for the needed brain tumor surgery. So is this her brain under the effects of anesthesia and the stress of the operation imagining her future or is it something else? Is this akin to the angel showing the hero of It's a Wonderful Life what his town would be like if he had never been born?
Your tale is so engaging that many of us *invested* ourselves in it and may have felt betrayed, in particular at the male future.
Mind you I long felt she was somewhat railroaded into girlhood by the cheerleader he so wanted to be friends with and by how he was still abused/picked on as a boy when he tried to return to school as a boy. But as it went on I have come to believe she may well be female in her soul. Whether that involves full SRS or somewhere in-between it is her choice. And yours as the writer.
As the author you knew where it was going or at least had a general idea so didn't have that problem, that uncertainty/confusion that so upset some of your readers. Unfortunately you never got the change to convince us otherwise as you stopped where you did.
It is your baby but please do not throw out the baby with the bath water. There was a lot of good stuff in the incomplete third book. Perhaps it can be recycled and/or used to guide you to a new andimproved book three?
