Boy, has that changed.
I miss Elsbeth. I'm currently doing a reread marathon of my 3 favorite Elsbeth stories, namely Harry Potter - Season of Change, Freyja's Daughters and The Lost Queen.
Old Movie
There was an old movie made in 1981 by Walt Disney Productions named Dragonslayer that had a Princess named Elspeth which sounds sort of like what Elsbeth. I thought it was kind of goofy but it had pretty good effects that were available at the time.

There's also a series of novels by Mercedes Lackey where a princess named Eslpeth plays a prominent part.

The character Elsbeth is first mentioned in Chapter 2, then 12, but doesn't become a regular character till about chapter 18 ?
The name also shows up in 4 episodes of The Warrior From Batuk by Aardvark

Actually, it always reminds me of the Magic the Gathering card "Elspeth, Knight-Errant." She was my first planeswalker and I think worth about $20 when I pulled her from a booster pack. Still one of my favourite cards.
