Like every post I've seen on this event, Andii is reported as a HE, and the male pronoun used throughout.

This makes me wonder, just a little. Is Andii a cross dresser? Then, the HE pronoun is probably accurate (based on the few CDs I've talked to.) I don't THINK Andii's a cross dresser. Why? The article states that Andii's been attending school as a girl for two years. I don't know any CDs that would go full time. I could be mistaken, thus this being here.

However, if Andii's M2F TS, then, it sounds like she transitioned a few years ago. Shouldn't the pronoun have been female throughout this (& other) article?

A Better Version Of The Story

Here's the story as told by the Miami Herald [click here].

They do a far better job with the pronouns. Plus, they quote the father in depth, where he comes off as a very supportive and sympathetic figure, despite his stubbornness with the pronoun situation.

Bear in mind that being transsexual means your gender identity is opposite your physical birth gender. This is true no matter where a person is in the transition process. So, even though Andii may be pre-op, she's still transsexual. Genital surgery isn't even available in the U.S. until you reach 18. So, let's not be dissing on her, okay? She says she's a girl, that's all anyone needs to know.

New prom

The Prom Queen might be able to parlay the attention into help in SRS, if the surgery is in the future.
