Those people who enjoy my writing(all 6 or 60 of you) may be wondering what I been up to since I haven't posted anything on Duty Honor Country Family in a while.

Here's a long story turned short or maybe medium

In January after completing DHCF Part 31, my muse sort of got stuck in the mud so far as that story goes. However, other story ideas were rolling around in my brain. One of them involved aliens crashlanding on Earth and before they left, they give Earth some great technology.

Which goes wrong at a later date of course. My story titled Mishap is about that.

The aliens crashland in the year 2013, the technology goes wrong in 2027. What I've written, with the exception of the prologue, takes place between 2027-2032

Mishap started as a simple affair. One changed person's story. I wrote 35,000 words and sent it to Puddin. Puddin worked on it but told me when she was through that what occurs to my main character can be best described as brainwashing. She suggested I work on it. Lets call this part Zach for its original character.

I didn't do the re-write but expanded on one of the other characters, his name was Bob, and wrote a whole new storyline around a character whose name starts off as Gary.

The Gary storyline took on a life of its own. It's about 180,000 words at the moment. I wrote the ending to it and have a gap in the middle.(April 2029 to September 2030) When finished this storyline will probably be 225,000 words or so.

Bob's story is the shortest, but it it sort of bookends the greater story. He first encounters the aliens and then gets changed when the technology goes wrong and then near the story's end, I come back to him/her . I've got the Bob storyline, 10,000 words, 95% written, a little bit of new material needs to be written and one scene fleshed out. But all in all, that's 5,000 more words max.

Zach's story as I said needs a re-write. The basic storyline can still be used, but the tone has to be changed, some stuff deleted and some additions made. Some of Zach's story is usable right now.

I may not have posted anything to BC in four months but I've hardly been twiddling my thumbs. If I wanted to, I could start posting Mishap in parts while I finish writing the missing stuff in Gary's storyline, do the rewriting of Zach, and then have Puddin go over my work. At the moment, I do have 135,000 words written and ready for posting. If I break that up into the prologue and seven other parts and post them every 4th or 5th day, I'd have the other parts ready for posting by the time I run out of the ready to go parts.

When I started writing this, I gave serious thought to epublishing it at Amazon. I just don't know if many non TG fiction fans would be interested in reading it.

I might start publishing Mishap very shortly. Either in a couple of days or two weeks from now after I get the hole in the Gary storyline closer to being plugged.
