I find that the title is as much as I can actually do toward making an actual April Fool's joke. The cruelty to lead you all on is not within me ;)
I seriously considered doing something else, but it would just not be nice.

Fools
I've always thought the Fools on April 1st were the ones trying to play the jokes, I've never seen what is funny about them. I'm glad you went no further, thank you!
. . . .
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they speak.
I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.
Depends on the nature of the subject, I think
And, in right company, some of the best jokes are unintentional ones... *drifts off in fond memories* :)

The reason
It also depends on the reason for the joke as well. If you're just trying to have a little fun, then there should be nothing wrong with it. If you're trying to be cruel, then you shouldn't be joking in the first place.
For example: My brother and I design games for fun. We're trying to get a game company off the ground, but it's going nowhere fast. Online games, you know. . .
Anywho, we are planning some strange things should we ever have a game open on April 1st. Nothing mean, or destructive, just little things.
Example: One day, they log in, and all of the NPCs and monsters had turned into anthropomorphic cows that say 'Moo'. They can still play the game as intended, and it would only last the one day, but welcome to 'Cow Level'. If you don't get the reference, then you really didn't play Diablo II enough.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing ><
The point is, startling someone with something can be a blast for everyone involved. If you've read 12-String and gotten a 'What the' moment, then you know what I mean.
That is partially why I write 12-String. I like to shatter conventions.
Sometimes I go too far and the story suffers. For that I apologize. However, overall I feel that I have a fairly okay product that is enjoyable to read, or so it would seem from the comments.
