As of the 18th of April, three days after my birthday, I will be officially and legally, Catherine Linda Michel!!!!! I never thought, for real, that this day would ever come, due to financial restrictions, but it's here, it's real, and I am ecstatic!!!
Yes, there'll be a buncha stuff I'll have to do AFTER the 18th, to change all my identification and stuff, and of course, learn to sign a new name... LOL, but I can already feel a new peace within myself and a renewal of my goal, full SRS. That however, can wait til I can find the funds. This step will suffice until then.
Thank you all for all the support, the encouragement, and the love you have so freely shared with me over the 6+ years I've been a member here at Big Closet. Idon't think I could have ever arrived at this time without the help I've gotten from all of you.

It is amazing how many places I've had to contact about my name change I did four of them on the first day. I'm still finding places that need to be changed but thankfully I'm closing in on the last of them. You'll find out all about that soon enough and Angharad is right one step at a time. Name change financial woes
I was lamenting that the only thing holding me back was a large infusion of cash.
I needed new glasses and a name change. An 'admirer' of TSes asked me how much I needed.
I did some calculations and came up with $400.
He floored me when he put $500US (about $650CAD) into my account. It took a month to clear
all the holds put on the money by the international banking.
True to my word, I bought new glasses, a name change, and a few work outfits. I transitioned imediately after.
One day I hope to be able to 'pay it forward' which was what I was told I owed the fellow.

I remember my name change with glee... but it was marred by someone who worked for Canada Post who sent me a note
"Good luck with the name change [old name here]. Maybe we'll look you up for a good time." I freaked for about a day
but when nothing came of it... I moved on.
