Eh, I suppose technically this is a post, so I'm posting about not being able to post... (crosses eyes). What I am saying is, there will be no Chapter 14 of Somewhere Else Entirely today.

Various reasons, really. Part of last week involved an awkward trip to the dentist and then I had to go back Monday because the technician building a crown and the implant next door to it couldn't figure out how my bite registered... You don't feel like writing after that kind of ordeal.

My partner kindly donated to me the heavy cold she has just finished with, and I'm all blocked up... can't think straight enough to get clever dialog out today.

Add in to that the general Fibro aches and pains - who knew that my pain threshold could go so low? I woke up this morning with two sore hips and a stiff neck. Sitting at a computer for long periods ain't funny. My temperature control has gone all strange on me, and coupled with the Central Heating Thermostat From Hell means that parts of me are both sweating and freezing. The spring (?) sunshine blasting through the window of Mission Control isn't helping either.

I have done 6,200 words of chapter 14 so far, and I haven't even got as far as lunch yet! I suspect this day in Garia's life will have to be broken into two episodes. I'm genuinely trying not to micro-write this story but the detail is important at this point as I'm having to describe lots of new things as they become part of the tale. Needless to say there are more surprises and challenges to come for our heroine!

I hope to get the next chapter up sometime tomorrow (Thurs) but given my current state that will have to be Best Endeavours. I really, really don't like letting my readers down.

Thank you for your patience,

Penny

Edit: D'oh! That shows just what a state I'm in. I meant to say, chapter fourteen, not thirteen.

Spent all afternoon on the couch, stiff as anything and aching in all muscles. No, not the flu (I think).

Commiseratingly yours...

...As I've said elsewhere, fibro sucks big time! Add a horrible head cold and dental and other real life woes and you get a kind but unnecessary apology. My prayers to you, dear one.
