I hate it when that happens...

I must remember, next time I spend 10-15 minutes carefully crafting a comment, to copy / paste it into a text editor before hitting Preview.

It doesn't always happen, but on several occasions, when either hitting Preview or Submit, the page has decided to reload instead, retaining the comment title but not the comment text. Aarrgh!

It's probably caused by something like a temporary hiccup in communications between my computer and the server, so there's almost certainly nothing anyone can do about it, but it's still darned irritating when it happens.

There. Just had to get that off my chest. Apologies for the inconvenience. You may now resume whatever you were doing beforehand. Thank you.

I couldn't agree more

If it's any consolation... it's just as frustrating when you've just copied and pasted 40k words in several batches, along with formatting said words and inserting graphics, only to have it all turn to custard, and wiping out 20 minutes' work. At least, I've still got the words I suppose.

Sorry, I don't do postcards any more.

And it happens just after you crafted a perfect comment, and either ranted or raved; or wrote the sweetest comments. You spent your time making sure every sentence is well crafted, and then poof it disappears into that cyper ghost land tahtw e all dread.

My very first serious comment

To "Something feels strange - chapter 20" by TiffQ suffered the same sorry fate. And it took me more than half an hour to create it! I had to rewrite it completely, luckily my memory was fresh enough.

Greetings

One way I've found to get round the problem is to have an extension to the normal clipboard. So that you have more than the last item you copied available.

ClipMateâ„¢ Clipboard Extender available from http://www.thornsoft.com/ costs a few $s but stores current clips and can also separately hold items you might use regularly.
