Edeyn I hope you have a speedy recovery and that the scaring is minimal as I know from experience that compound fractures are not fun (femur 12 yrs ago)(tib & fib 10 yrs ago)(same leg)

Or perhaps imitating Drew/Gaby...

in some of his more spectacular tumbles!

But at least you didn't do it riding a skateboard!

Hang in there and get well soon.

Reality is a nice concept - but it doesn't hold up to close examination.

No fun...

and not the least bit humerus. The pain, the sudden expense, and for a writer a broken arm can be an added torture. So I'm hoping your cast allows you to write, and that dem bones knit up neatly & quickly & just like new. And I hope your bike didn't lay there in agony for hours, pitifully honking its little horn, but went fast, and is up in bicycle heaven all shiny and new and making lots of friends. Get well, Edeyn!

Sorry to hear that.

Having been in the hospital recently myself, I know it's no fun at all even without a broken bone. I hope you recover soon and can get back to us. But take care of yourself first.

Hugs

Ouch!!

Is riding a bike a contact sport? You and Cathy have a lot in common, bike-wise. My bike riding earned me the nickname 'Concussion'. Fortunately, I've managed to walk or ride away with minor cuts, impalements, scrapes and bruises. Unfortunately for my bikes, I've had to carry a few home, (may they rest in pieces). Glad you survived and are on the mend. You have my condolences for the bike. May it too rest in pieces.

Hugs,
Trish-Ann

Okay, that sounds painful...

And I hope it heals quickly and well. Also, I hope you get good painkillers while you need them!

Now, we know you had a bike accident, but the big question is... how did it happen?

Heal Well

Be well. I hope your bones heal quickly.

Can you still move your fingers? Are you typing with one hand? I hope you can keep your fingers moving and ready to type more stories.

I nearly broke my neck

a few years ago riding a mountain bike. It wasn't even an especially challenging route, but it did pass under a fallen tree suspended over the path. The tree must have shifted and dropped a few inches, those inches being the critical factor. Tooling along at a very nice pace on the slight downgrade, I encountered the Killer Limb. I'm sure that I looked like one of those stunt men with the harnesses as they are suddenly brought to a halt...only the rope was attached to my helmet and the rest of me tried to keep going. Took me a few seconds to realize that my neck wasn't broken and then I got back up and made it back to my car. Came back the next week and cut off the limb that snagged my helmet, but it has taken these two-plus years to recover to where I don't have headaches from bending my neck.

So even though the pain must be excruciating (or was at the time), remember that bones heal relatively fast and you won't have headaches for the next two years!

Heal quickly

I wish I could make it better, but I can't. I hope your arm heals as quickly as possible.

Get Better Edeyn

I wish you had never had that accident, your life has been rough and you don't need anymore impediments in your way. Let your body heal and try not to push things. Letting your body heal is your top priority.
