I'm still totally flabergasted - 2 1/2 hours later...
My wife and I had planned on my "comming out" to my In-laws this past weekend - but we couldn't get enough time to "do the deed"... (They were visiting...) I haded out of town to a client, and my father-in-law; nephew; older daughter (who knows the real me) were off to get her back to Uni & younger daugher was at elementary school... My wife took the "chance" and "outed" me to her mom... Her reaction was FAR better than either expected. My wife reported that: Her first reaction was "well, of course he's the same person" and then "he's welcome in our house no matter what"... (I don't know which pronoun she used... I'm guessing... So it could be even more amazing.)
Only after this did my wife get told something she didn't know about her mom. No - she's not TG. But, she did "interview" one of the doctors that worked on Christine Jorgenson - while working on the student paper at Boston University! So, she's known about TS since BEFORE I WAS BORN! She's accepted us all that time as well.
Something like this in a story - nobody'd believe it... I still have trouble with it, and she's my mother-in-law!
If I'm dreaming... I don't think I want to wake up. I can't expect future "outings" to go this well, but one like this is to be treasured.
Best to all of you,
Annette

Congrats
I'm very happy for you. To bad your wife did not video tape it for you. It's always good to be on your mother in laws good side. As long as you are you know that your marrige is in good shape. At least, thats what the fortune cookie told me.lol

Good things
happen to good people. I have been amazed at the various reactions from non-T folk over the years in situations where I have to out myself. The usual reaction is amazement ( which is a good one ) and sometimes a matter of fact reaction from I would swear was a red neck and probably conservative but for reasons I will not go into she did not find it weird that this is part of the human condition.
It is wonderful that you are working this transition through so well.

Good luck Annette
