Here's a brief note to demonstrate that the Feminista theme was being discussed way back in the naughty nineties.

It's worth watching for it is a 'Two Ronnies' mini comedy series from wayye-back on the BBC.

There are a whole series of sketches.

Just look up 'The Worm that Turned' on You tube.

someone was paying attention at the back although it was actually first aired in 1980!

Ronnie Barker was a master story teller, don't be put off by the canned laughter and comedic narration, this series is one of the best role reversal / crossdressing representations ever to be made - and it was on prime time TV. The whole thing runs to an hour and twenty minutes presented in 8 ten minute episodes.

'The Worm That Turned (1980)
Diana Dors guest-starred as the Commander of the State Police in this spoof piece of dystopian fiction set in 2012 in which women rule England. Male and female gender roles are completely reversed, even down to men having women's names and vice versa. Men are housekeepers and wear women's clothes, and law and order is managed by female guards in boots and hot pants. Big Ben is renamed Big Brenda, the Tower of London is renamed Barbara Castle and the Union Jack becomes the Union Jill. The watching of chauvinistic films is prohibited, so upset duo Janet and Betty prepare to escape to Wales. '

The younger me watched it

The younger me watched it avidly. I would have loved to live in the England were that was set. The men were just expeted to do what women did at the time. The only difference is that women in the 80's could wear trousers. The first episode showed Diana Dors saying that men shouldn't get the option to wear trousers.

In yours and Torry's story, men were treated worse as they were kept ignorant, poor and surpressed with low wages and curfews.
The two Ronnie's version would have been paradise for me. Not for anyone that doesn't want though.

There is a versionwith all episodes spliced together as a film on youtube somewhere.
