Years earlier it was suggested I offer my stories to this site. I declined, as a published novelist I understood what momentary value was in my literary efforts. To post published and unpublished works on BCTS is a give and take compromise from authors and the ladies who maintain BCTS. The authors receive critique of their works including serious editing at times. BCTS receives a collection of stories usually posted nowhere else and thus traffic to their site. Provided they benefit from the hits they can grow their profits. A sharing of labors if you will.
What one does or doesn't with their literary works is up to each individual. With only a few exceptions I've read better writing on this site than I have in any published books. I wish all the authors received a reward for their labors. For some the accolades is enough. For others they desire a financial reward. Both situations are right as the author may deem individually. For the rest of us, never forget the story belongs to the respective author the same as all their other labors.
