Sorry for the delays in both ‘A thief’s problem’ and ‘Racing Angels’. As you know both myself and my husband are the Advisors for one of the local 4H clubs here in Garret County Maryland. For the last two weeks we have been very busy with our two teams. First was the local 4th of July parade at home. This was followed up by the Med-Atlantic Competition where my girls placed 5th as a team while the boys place 8th as a team. As this was their last competition for the year both me and my husband are extremely happy. While not placing high enough to go further in the national competitions we are still proud of their placings. After all this was the first year for both teams competing.
As for now, I should back to my normal posting schedule (crosses fingers and prays) within the next few days or so.

FFA and 4H were huge when I was growing up. My high school (still) has their own rodeo grounds.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Good for the kids and you guys! Twas hoping you were doing stuff like that and had not been done way with by the inhabitants of the hills and valleys in that area! Or had been swept away in the recent spate of torrential rains in that area. Part on my family are among the inhabitants and internments in that area.

I was a 4-H kid and have been a volunteer leader for many years. Congratulations on your and your kids accomplishments and THANK YOU for making time to help the kids learn and grow.

Good job. My niece graduated from HS in Indiana this year with honors and she was a FFA District Officer her Senior year. She applied for a State Officer position following in both her Maternal Grandfather's and her own Mother's State Officer paths, but didn't get it. So she's going to attend Purdue in the Fall going towards a degree in Agricultural Education.

Congratualtion to the kids
While I was never 4H, I had many friends that were in it when I was in high school. I was in the FFA competing at the state level in Calf roping (winning it at that level twice)
For Robyn, 4H stands for Heart, hands, head and health, FFA is future farmers of America. Both national youth organizations that believe in hands on learning for kids centered mostly on farming and animal husbandry.
We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
