I wish to thank you all for your kind and thoughtful words for my freind. I shall miss her deeply too. Her life has many lessons upon which we all can learn from. Her spirit and legacy to all those that knew her will hopefully live on. I know that they will carry on with me. Mellissa knew in her heart that her time was at a end, she wrote one final piece to her story and I have no Idea how to post it. I need to know also whom I contact on Big Closet to ensure that her stories will remain on here at this site. That was her wish. I can only hope that her wishes come true now that she has left those that knew her and loved her. Mellissa's loss is a tragedy yes, Her legacy and zest for survival a tesatment for strength.
SHe is at peace and hope for all abounds with her in her last post which is very poinant and heartbreaking. I thouroughly believe she knew her time was now and that she lost her fight lying in a hospital bed, with no fight left.

prairie_girl_64's stories could do with a little polishing in the form of proofreading but her pain and her determination to survive and make a life out of the wreckage her family and others left her is inspiring. In a way it's rawnes makes it more powerful. Any proofing must make sure to preserve that edginess.
Do contribute your own thoughts, stories, or your reflections on your late friend if you wish. This is afterall the Big Closet. There is room for another.

P.S. Sorry if I came off as mean spirted in my original post on hearing of prairie_girl_64's death but anyone who abuses a child, particularly when that abuse is longterm and systematic is deserving of contempt and anything the law can throw at them as well.

Mellissa will live on. In our hearts, for the pain she shared,
an on this site for others to continue to share. I think I can
speak for a lot of people here, that when we loose someone like
Mellissa, the stories she shared become just a little more
precious in memorium.
John is right, Sephrena Lynn Miller is a good choice. I have no
doubt that she will contact you. Be assured, there are any
number of people here who would be honored to post something
for Prairie Girl, and for you too.

Melissa's stories will remain on BC. We don't remove stories except by author request or in a very narrow set of circumstances that do not apply. If you have Melissa's login info, and attest that you have her permission, you may modify her stories or allow someone else to modify them.
Our losses here are very sad this year but the personal real life losses of the friends of Melissa, Kim and Nanomage are certainly more painful. Last year we lost Darla and a few years before that Jack and Becky. Life is not permanent but stories can live on. We must take what joy we can in the gifts our friends have left for us.
