Fiona visiting a Carnival-Party
My name here on BC was Meri but I'd like to be called Fiona :)
Two friends invited me to join them for a carnival party, where i was the first time "out."
First I think a little about myself. I was born about 24 years ago in Sri Lanka. A few weeks after my birth my twin sister and I were adopted by a Swiss Couple. We grew up together and I always have liked her toys more then mine. Perhaps an example will help: I had a farm with animals, but preferred to play and help my sister with her dolls and doll house. I never liked games like football etc. I started to cross-dress when I was 12. After a while I stopped — or tried to stop and didn’t do it so often. I had other problems to deal with like my education and I tried to ignore that my other urges. Of course that didn’t work and sometime in the last year it got to the point I couldn’t ignore it any more.
This trip was the first time I went “out” as a woman, with the help of two very good friends. They had invited my to this event and I was glad to accept. I arrived early in the morning, the train I’d taken allowing me to sleep. Holly, one of my friends, met my at the train station and after a little chat she took me to my hotel where I checked in and got my stuff unpacked. A little later, I joined her at her place. There we chatted a for a while before looking through her cloths for something appropriate for me to wear for such an event as I had nothing of my own. (The few female cloths I have are years old or are just unisex —except for some underwear-. I had nothing appropriate for an evening like this.) We found a nice jeans mini skirt with letters on it saying “Sweet Girl”, a black top and a black camisole. I had brought some black tights and black sneakers with me. That made up my ensemble for the evening.
My other friend Saphira came for lunch. After having lunch and a bit more chatting it was time to go to Douglas, where I had an appointment for a session. The Girls there were really nice. They gave me a great makeover and showed me how to do it. I actually ended up buying some. :) After I left the store I was really good looking. Next it was time to visit the hairdresser. As I’m trying to grow my hair out, there wasn’t that much he could cut, so he just gave me a little. And of course, he styled my hair for the evening.
We walked to the bar where the Carnival-Event would be held. It was an event for all sorts of transgendered people. First we had to get changed into the party clothes. Nothing much to do for me ad I had just to put the miniskirt on. I already wore the rest under my coat. Then the party started. There were a lot of nice people and I felt at ease there. I had a few drinks and chatted with some people. Parts were a little boring, because I didn’t know anyone except my two friends and I didn’t really like the music. I was also one of the youngest, if not the youngest person there. I had some struggles getting rid of some male habits, but I think I managed fairly well. Beside those concerns, it was really fun and I liked it very much. Far too soon the evening was over and we changed back into our street cloths and went to our respective places for sleep.
The next day, after we got back together, we walked through the city and did some shopping. I bought some mascara and a few other things you need if you want to apply and remove makeup. ☺ As a highlight I got both of my ears pierced. ☺ I really like that. I’ve thought about that for years and it’s like a dream come true.
For the rest of my trip, we made some sightseeing. We visited the Panometer, a really great painting, showing Dresden how it was before the 7 years war. Sunday morning we went to the “Deutsche Hygiene Museum” where an exhibition was showed about death in art all over the world. It was really interesting.
So now I have make-up to learn how to apply it correct. It was not easy to find something for my dark skin but now I have some really good make-up and pierced ears. Beside that I learnt very much about myself. I really liked this short trip and I felt at ease when I was a woman. I was happy then.
I’d like to thank my friends Holly and Saphira for their great help.
