Last Sunday, I was floored several times.

Sally asked, "Should you not take it easy on your leg?" [right lower]

"Why do you ask?"

"Your sister called us. She is worried about you walking everywhere and cutting your grass."

"Which sister? Remember, Dixie & I are on the out ever since she ran up a $400 phone bill on me."

"I don't know, She talked to Jane."

Jane Pharees is Sally's "Partner In Crime." Jane is a Music Teacher in both high school and college. She plays the keyboard & guitar in the Contemporary Service and oversees the Scripture Reading in the Traditional Service.

Sally floored me when she said how I performed as the Crucifer was both Reverend and Humble. Having her Praise my part of the Service was very humbling.

Then, after the service, Jane told me how Jenny and she talked about my needs at home. She saw how I was about to lose it there. It took a few minutes for me to assimilate what had just taken place. Jane stood by me as my world crashed around me.

Finally, I was able to accept the new reality and find comfort in knowing that my battles were now fought with help of others.

I had for years served in the church, never asking for help, other than rides home. I had to be the strong one. I had to keep the house up. But now, my weakness was made known. My needs revealed and MY CHURCH FAMILY truly became MY CHURCH HOME.
