That description is too vague for me. However, if you mean that the main story characters are leveling up, allocation stat points and can look at their character sheets then try searching for the term LitRPG (literary role playing game) genre. Some of the stories here are LitRPG.

...what you meant by "the cats people". As noted, there are a whole lot of "trapped in a game" stories, but I can't recall reading one where they're all human-type cats. (Has the MC become a cat also?)
