TG alert as well as Whately style alert

Forums:

Recently, I’ve been listening to a series of audiobooks (they are also in print) called Super Powereds (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4) and there is a character in the books that has the power of mimicking someone else’s power and body. Several times over the course of the telling of the story, he takes on the shape and power of several different women. The majority of the women are uncomfortable with him using their powers since that would mean he would have access to their bodies.

The Whateley alert is that this is based in a fictional college in California (as well as four other colleges where the Hero Certification Program or HCP operates) where they are training future super heroes by attrition throughout the training. At one point they are talking about a group of baseline humans who have organized a group called (of all things) Humanity First.

This is my public service announcement for the year. Now I’ll go back to my lurking.

I can understand that concern honestly.

It's one thing for someone to have a woman's body who was male: it's another thing for someone else -- man or woman -- to somehow have access to YOUR body.

It's why body swap stuff makes me uncomfortable: there's that element of violation about it that always sits poorly with me.

To be honest.

Whateley started as a fanfic take on X-Men Evolution. The idea of super-powered schools hardly originated with us. There's Xavier's Mansion, The Avengers had one based in California for a time.
