Lack of male exposure

In my story "How I Became Crossgender" I created a character who was raised in relative isolation by lesbian parents. At age 4 he is put in charge of his 2 year old sister, while his parents build their house. He has virtually no male contact (even via television). There is no indoctrination as to male and female behavior. The children are homeschooled together and are treated identically(with concessions for age).

My story presents one version of the problems re-entering our society at age 13 (11 for his sister) but I wonder what others think what might happen in this scenario.

Terrified

Both children would be terrified and utterly lost and out of it. Their habits would be just strange enough to invite tormenting and bullying by their middle-school peers. It will set the pattern of life for a good many years to come.

I could see this going very

I could see this going very badly---IRL a buddy of mine found out at age 20, that his insanely insanely strict parents were not really his and lets put it this way.....it went badly, VERY badly.

I could see boy in complete culture shock and go very nuts on the family except the sister, as he would see her as just another prisoner like him.
then add the state calling....

The Fantasy

After having lived as a woman since 2004, and post op since 2007:

The lesbians won't be able to avoid instilling some prejudice in the boy, and he may feel some disorientation, and fright at encountering men for the first time. I don't know if he will be able to adapt. I think the presence of Testosterone in him will cause problems if the Lesbians are not reinforcing to normal male conduct. And, in my experience, some Lesbians are more MALE than a normal male. I don't know if that is man hating because of past negative experiences with men.

My opinion is that men have always fiddled around with women's clothes, but it was a huge CRIME to encourage men to try to surgically become females. There is unrelenting pain visited upon even post op MTF folk and they get you when you least expect it.

I almost always read your stories but just hadn't gotten to this one yet.

Friend from College

A friend of mine from college had a lot of feminine mannerisms, everyone thought he was gay. I thought he was gay too until one day one of the jocks was bugging him. I showed up and scared the jock away, after which we got to talking and he told me he was the youngest with five sisters and his father had died when he was real small.

So my friend grew up in a very similar situation. So I can say he speech patterns, choice of words, hand gestures, the way he walks, carries books, general appearance of dress would be much cleaner and neater appearance, color coordination of clothing, etc. would all be very feminine.
