Well, it's May eight again, my birthday. In the past, I used to hide given the outright disasters that used to happen today. My darling, wonderful wife vowed to change that. The last few years has been great if for no other reason that I have someone who cares so much about me to share them with. This year however is different.

Just about a week and a half ago we lost my baby brother. He was only 45. Just to add to the pain no one from the family was able to make it to the service given it was so far away. It was impossible. Yes, he had those he'd made his life with to send him on that last journey, but I don't have to tell anyone how the rest of us would've dearly loved a chance to tell him our own goodbyes.

I guess right now I feel very old, no matter the numbers on my drivers license.

This weekend, my wife and I will go celebrate my birthday by catching Iron-Man 3. Little brother if you're out there, you're welcome to tag along like you did when we saw Star Wars, Star Trek the Motion picture, Superman, and so many others when we were both much younger.

I'm missing you.

Hugs to all
Grover

PS: A big, big hug to Cathy and her blog. I really needed that this morning.

...I can still 'hear' my sister's voice as I imagine you can still hear your brother. I am so sorry for your loss. Birthday wishes for fun and fond memories of times past.

Know how you feel, Grover.

Losing any family is a major downer. Have fun at the movie.

Happy Birthday

Well I would have wished you one if I knew, but since you were good enough to let us know HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Another reason I didn't do this before your special day is that my son's birthday is May eighth. Yes, I talked to him even though he's in, Hell I don't know, somewhere in the Mediterranean. He called from somewhere in Greece this morning, my time, six thirty AM. If you had called I would have greeted you with the same Happy Birthday, well maybe not, but close. Anyway, Happy Birthday dear friend and many more, Arecee
