Is it book/movie worthy

The God Bless the Child trilogy has really been the most complete work that I've ever done. It is the only work that I put serious thought into while crafting it, and the only work I actually sat down and edited (sorry to admit this but the rest i just type as i go and then post, I don't even do a second read) With the trilogy I actually kept close tabs on character's personalities so that they responded consistently (on two occasions I had to re-write scenes to put the right character in there because of the response I needed). I worked with outlines, consulted professionals in other fields (especial a paramedic when Chase was shot) and feel I created a fictional character that people honestly care about.

My question is this, and I would really like an honest answer. Is this work professional level (I do know there needs to be some touching up in spelling and grammar as, considering the length, i did not catch everything). Would this be something you would see in the store and go Hmmm perhaps I will by this along with whatever other book you buy (shame on you if you don't buy books). Also, could you see this as a movie adaptation (I know some of the abuse scenes would be edited out or softened). When I read it I always view it as a movie, but maybe I'm retarded.

I would really like to know, do I have something that I could go to a mainstream publisher with, or should I just accept the fact that writing is a really neat hobby that I have and it will never go beyond that?

Book / Movie

I think you have something great.

That said, you first need an agent. DO NOT go this alone! The agent will know which publishing houses would be interested in this type of work. S/he'll also work out the best deal for you as it would also be the best deal for him/her as they only work on commission. From what I've read about the publishing industry, they'll primarily want a hard-hitting overview of the story, reasons why you think it's worth publishing and just a couple of chapters to get a feel for your style. Your agent can fill you in on that better than I.

Go here and follow some of the links there. Like they say in New Yawk: Can't Hoit!

How many overall pages will it be when done? That will make a difference, too. You want novel-length. Anything less and you can look at self-publishing or ebook publishing.

This is not really a TG story in the sense that it would offend general society the way adult LGBT's and stories with one of us as the lead character would. That would force you to go to a niche publisher (specialty - sold in adult stores only type of publisher). This is why I think you could go with a mainstream publishing company without a problem.

Google literary agents in your local area and talk to several (don't just go with the first one). You'll want to know what they're track record is, not just how many contacts they made but how many they managed to get accepted. Well, you'll read all about that in the link.

Best of luck, Katie. Let me know if this helped at all. And let me know if it gets published ... I'll expect and autographed copy!!!!

Hugs,
Erica

Is it book/movie worthy

The trilogy would make a great series of novels and movies.

I think the story is

I think the story is worthwhile, but you need an editor before you can submit it. There are a lot of mis-words, words that are words, but not the right one.
