First let me apologize the Staff and Editors. I tried to post two chapters of a story I wrote some time. I have no clue about how HTML works. I tried several times before I got it to look right and hit the submit content button......but oops I didn't clear out the others that didn't look good before I did. So you may have got the first chapter of the same story several times. I have read through a lot of the FAQ but I use Word Perfect so it's bit different from MS word.

Still I am open to any all help as I have more than a few story's I would like to post. Thanks to all. Joe

I would love to help but

probably know less than you do AND I use MS Word. It usually takes me a few tries to get it right. All I would suggest is that you 'cut and paste' your content after you're finally happy with it. That way you should only get one copy.

Also, ask Erin, the fount of all knowledge. I didn't get where I am today etc. etc.

Susie

Thank you very much

Yes, well I am still re-living my first post ( different site) where all the paragraphs and such just went away. Maybe someday I will figure it all out...Thanks again

Thanks BC....hope I got it right this time...lol

No Stories

There are no stories posted by you. Just this blog. Not sure what happened but posting a story is very similar to posting a blog. And stories and blogs go up immediately, so if you had posted any, we could all see them.

There's no problem using Word Perfect or most other good editors. In fact, MSWord causes more problems than does WP.

Hugs,
Erin

Okay, I tried to submit one chapter "again" I hope it worked this time.

Thanks BC....hope I got it right this time...lol

It is not necessary to know anything about html to post.

If you just copy and past the story into the 'Body' field, it will post. The pne big difference from blogging, is that there is more overhead ...
Title
Author
Audience Rating
TG Themes
TG Elements

And a few other areas where you CAN, but may not have to enter guidance for the readers.

One thing I want to stress, make sure there is a blank line between paragraphs. It makes the post MUCH easier to read.

I also suggest you create a synopsis of maybe 2-5 lines, and put that after the title & Author credits IN THE TOP OF THE BODY WHERE YOUR STORY GOES.
The title and author in the overhead posts above the story on the front page.

Once you have the synopsis in place, go just beyond it and click on the button at the far right above the BODY text, the one with the red dotted line, the Letter A above to the right, and B below to the left.

That will create the html code needed to separate it off for the 'Splash that everyone sees on the front page, without you having to know html.

There is a lot more you can do with those buttons, but I do not want to waste too much space here.

If you, or any other budding BCTS authors want to learn more, send me a private message, and I'll try to get back to you soon. It may be a day or two, but hopefully, not more than 3.

Holly

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Holly

Thank you very much

I did see that Body with the line, I saw Body w/* in red. maybe I wasn't looking in the right place. thanks again

Thanks BC....hope I got it right this time...lol

Hi, Joe.

Your experts are people like Holly and Erin, and it's best to heed their suggestions. But if you are open to a bit more advise, amateurish though it may be:
