My new short fiction collection, Gender Panic and Other Stories contains 253,948 words of transgender fiction: seven short stories, seven novelettes, one novella, and two short novels. Six of the stories (including both novels), 163,318 words, have never appeared online before. The collection has an introduction, an overview of the stories, and content warnings, and afterwords to all the individual stories.

It can be found at:

Smashwords pays higher royalties and more promptly than Amazon. itch.io pays fairly promptly, but similar royalties to Amazon.

In “Nine Months and Counting,” a farmer in a far-future post-apocalyptic world dreams of being a woman and having babies. But in the waking world he has a crisis on his hands as his wife goes to the village market with a flat belly and comes home hours later, nine months pregnant.

In The Wakened Princess, a team of archaeologists are exploring a strangely-preserved palace full of people who have slept for centuries when they discover what it will take to wake them. It will change a trans grad student’s life.

In “Smart House AI in Another World,” a household AI from a small suburban town finds herself suddenly inhabiting a large stone mansion in a strange city, summoned there by a wizard to keep house for him and his family. She wants to find a way home, but first, one of the wizard’s children has a problem she may be able to help with…

In “Race to the Altar,” the reading of a mage’s will leads to a race among his descendants to see who can be the first to get married and claim the inheritance.

In “By Strange Ways,” a trans waitress is accosted by a naive, eager trans girl from another world who wants to know how she can become a woman.

And eleven more.

Kindle version

Trismegistus Shandy provided a link to the book on itch.io. You should be able to access that from the UK and it's available there in MOBI which your Kindle will read. The only downside is that you will need to side load it.

You might see about downloading BookFunnel first. I have it on my Nook and it direct ebooks right into the correct directory for me. The claim you can get it for Kindle Fire.

Amazon UK?

I'm not sure why it's not on the Amazon UK storefront yet. It's probably related to whatever bug is causing it to not show up in search results for the exact title, or on my author page on Amazon.com. I'm trying to figure out the problem, but I have no idea where to look next.

-- edit: Okay, a FAQ I found says it can take up to a week for a book to show up on my author page. I don't remember it ever taking that long before, but whatever. Hopefully it will show up on Amazon UK and other countries' Amazon storefronts within the same time frame.

Smashwords pays

Smashwords pays higher royalties and more promptly than Amazon.

And they don't want to make you give up the right to publish elsewhere.

I'm not sure why you've limited Smashword to only make it available in epub. For no extra effort, they will provide it in .txt, pdb, lrf, pdf, and mobi as well.

Smashwords format conversions

For some reason, Smashwords will only automatically convert your ebook if you upload it in Microsoft Word format. I don't have Microsoft Word, or even Windows, so I uploaded all my ebooks in epub format.

Also, this is now available on Amazon, but only through a direct link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFZ9WZNH

It's not showing up on my author page or on the first page of results when you search for the title. I'm working on figuring out why. (I tried to add it to my author page manually -- sometimes I need to do that and sometimes it does it for you automaticallly -- and it claimed it had already been added, but it's still not showing up.)
