Need help from a Samsung phone guru

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 smart phone model SM-J337U. Up until recently, I've been able to access the internet while out and about on the phone. However, a while back, I was in Home Depot trying to use their app to locate something in the store and it said I didn't have an internet connection. Then last week same thing happened at Safeway and just today, I was at Best Buy and wanted to do a curbside pickup.

I opened the email (which I had opened before I left home) and clicked on the link in the email that should connect me to the store to tell them I was there and the same thing popped up... No Internet Connection.

I've obviously messed up my settings, but I can't, for the life of me, figure out what setting I need to change in order to get it back.

Can anyone out there help me?

Well, one thing is to check the wifi settings.

Apps, settings, wifi. Make sure you don't have an airplane mode going. That's just a quick check.
Then go to settings, data usage (that's usually what it's called on Samsung. I've had a couple) and make sure that Mobile Data is checked. If it is, you _might_ have overrun your allowed data.
When you're in home depot or walmart, they often have a guest wifi that at least works reasonably well with their app. (workaround)

Last thing - settings, connections, mobile networks. tap access point names, more, then reset to default.

You can also reset all the network settings - that's under Settings, Backup & Reset.

With luck, it's something as simple as mobile data turned off.

Causes

Other things to consider: some steel concrete buildinds eat cell signals for breakfast. OR: the building owners / shop renter have deployed (highly illegal ) 4G / LTE signal jammers. If you're outside the building and have internet access again, WITHOUT changing ANY settings on your phone then it's probably the former cause.

Are you sure your phone is 4G and not 3G? The list AT&T put out of which phones will continue to work after they shut down 3G (this month!) does not include the Galaxy J3. Even if your carrier is not AT&T, most of the mobile phone companies in the USA have already or are about to shut down their 3G service to free up the bandwidth for 5G. If you're sure your phone is 4G or 5G, you should double-check your settings.

Realistically, they're not

Realistically, they're not shutting down 3g to free up space for 5g. They can coexist. They're shutting down 3G so they don't have to support two very different radio structures. For example, they didn't have to shut down analog when digital came around. They simply did it because digital was more efficient, requiring less power for the same quality of signal - for a much lower distance of usability. (Just like cutting off analog TV transmissions. Digital transmissions are on the _same UHF and VHF frequencies_ The best antenna for digital TV reception is that 7 foot giant arrow antenna that we had in the 1970's)

The "G" levels don't truly mean anything other than "Generation".

Basically, the carriers _don't care_ about people using phones more than three years old. In fact, they would greatly prefer to shut down 4G if they could get away with it, forcing everyone to buy brand new phones. They just don't have the hardware in enough places yet.

In this case, 3G is running side by side in the 5G areas. They _could_ leave it like that, but they don't want to, so they'll shut them off. I can't say anything - that's between the FCC and the people to whom they sell bandwidth (I disagree with that as well, but won't get into it now). The FCC has said they can do whatever they want WITH that bandwidth, which means the FCC has given them carte-blanche to screw the voting, paying, public. We get no choice in the matter.

I'm just trying to clarify.
