Hi everyone,

I know that I haven’t posted anything new lately. For that I am sorry. Unfortunately, I came down with pneumonia a few weeks back. The pneumonia aggravated a long-time injury that I have been living with for the last 30 years. The injury was from shrapnel imbedded in my chest. At the time of my discharge, it was felt that it was too dangerous to remove the shrapnel. After 30 years of progress in medical science and technology the risk to my life was greatly reduced. My doctors operated 2 weeks ago and removed the shrapnel. I have spent the last weeks recovering from both the surgery and pneumonia. Between the pain and other meds, I haven’t been able to concentrate enough to write. My daughter reminded me today that I should post an update to let my readers what has been going in my life. With any luck I should be back to writing again shortly. (Now that fog has lifted from the pain meds) Be on the look out for the next chapter of Speed Demons and coming soon the first chapter of Black Sword of Stain John in the Dragon Sword Books.

I think it's marvelous that

I think it's marvelous that you managed to get that long standing injury taken care of. I'd bet that you'll be able to do some things you didn't dare do for the last 30 years. (Better than the bullet working it's way out on its own at your foot. Long story)

Just get better, spend some time outdoors, and THEN worry about the stories. If you write, fine, if you don't, the world will not end.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Hey there might even be a bonus here; you are THAT much less likely to set off a metal detector by accident!?!?

All my best to you.

Get well soon!

I don't post much, but you are one of my favorite authors. Health comes first and I am sure that you are glad to get the extra piece out of you. Take care of your self and don't worry about us, we'll still be here when you are well.

Shrapnel sucks

Shrapnel sucks I got fragged a couple of times when I was in Iraq 14 years ago and every now and again a piece of steel will work its way out It’s never fun to see a random spot of blood somewhere and a piece of steel sticking out

Get well soon!

You just take it easy and don't push yourself too much. We can wait until you are ready.

I'm happy for you that you got the shrapnel removed. I've known too many old soldiers who never could.
