Having just reread Susan Brown's "ORPHAN", I was reminded of another story, in which tennis is a part.

If memory serves, the MC begins a new school, I think all goes well until after the Christmas break, when the weather begins to get warmer, the sports curriculum changes and one of the sports that is played in spring is Tennis.

The MC has a natural talent for the game, and is talked talked into replacing a member of the their age groups team at the local Tennis Club!

The team member had to step down due to either illness\injury or parents moved for work.

I remember there was a score board and wins losses through the competition, also I think there was an incident with a bully at the club house or the locker rooms.
