Clichés

I found a list of clichés to avoid in one's writing. Of course, I had to see if I could use all the clichés in a short amount of space. It wasn't difficult, but it was kinda fun. Here is the result:

Clichés

I think at the end of the day when all’s said and done the fact of the matter is that I've taken the path of least resistance instead of enduring a baptism of fire in any way, shape, or form. Should someone advise me to think outside the box I would avoid them like the plague. It seems now, I've come full circle which is, naturally, par for the course for me at this moment in time.

People in my position who have managed to get back on track are few and far between because for all intents and purposes in this day and age there is never a level playing field.

In the final analysis and in the current climate there seems to be a mass exodus of those who were once thought to be fit for purpose.

I agree

Clichés are a dime a dozen.

Path of Least Resistance

One can take the path of least resistance, and wind up going through a baptism of fire. For example, a 21yo kid who has just finished a degree in physics, might automatically go for a PhD in physics.

Did you get all the clichés in? Or only a fraction of them?

Most

I got all the cliches in that were on my list. I'm sure that when it's all said and done at the end of the day it's only a fraction.

The Road To Hell

Is paved with good intentions and unintended consequences.

In my honest opinion........

You have gone beyond the pale, hit it out of the park, and obviously gone the extra mile.

If I could walk a mile in your shoes, I would see that the grass is always greener on the other side - but then you can’t judge a book by its cover! But then, if you play your cards right and read between the lines, you will grab the low hanging fruit because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Better safe than sorry, because it’s an uphill battle and of course ignorance is bliss. So don’t get a bee in your bonnet, because a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. You are a true diamond in the rough, but remember a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. A good rule of thumb is that a cheap knockoff would be a fate worse than death, yet a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Dum Vivimus, Vivamus

Wow

I just told someone that what I wrote was only a fraction of the cliches out there. What you have written has made me see how right I am.

It was a dark and stormy night

As someone who likes peanuts I'm rather surprised I haven't used this introduction yet.

Apart from that:
Je viens de couler un alliage métallique dans l'empreinte prise sur une forme typographique. J'ai cliché

Micmacs

There's a French film called Micmacs (from the director of Amelie, and like that film, this one will be charming to some, annoying to others). One of the oddball characters is a "enthnographer" who collects and only speaks in clichés. It's a delightful comic source, especially when he impersonates a diplomat. Anyway, you'll find the film here: IMDb and here: Wikipedia
