Saw The Same Story
In the International Herald Tribune. What caught my eye was the columnist's name of Marion, which was John Wayne's given name. I wonder if he got a hard time because of it?
Some not mentioned were names like Robin, which is usually a male name in UK (or Australia) but I believe is a girl's name in USA. In Hong Kong one learns not to be surprised at names used or adopted by HK Chinese. For instance I know a man called Mandy and a girl called Ida Ho. It all depends on location and the eye or ear of the third party, doesn't it?
Joanne
Another Mandy
There's a reasonably well-known male U.S. actor named Mandy Patinken.
