Y'know, I was gonna put out a story for the current contest.

I've been working hard on it, and had every intent of entering it!

Except that I'm currently 9,250 words into what's supposed to be a 5,000 word story, writing on the fifth chapter of what's supposed to be a one-part-complete affair, with one chapter left to go after this 'un.

Funny how that happens, ain't it?

For real, though, I'm having a blast with the story seed I'm working on, all thanks to inspiration from Angie, Emma, and Joanne, and the hard work they've been putting in to this whole contest.

I may not be a valid entry... but I think I've got a very fun story coming out of it, and when that happens, we all win, right?

Melanie, every time we get one of your stories to read, it’s a win for all of us! I can’t wait to read what you’re working on.

Just, you know . . . do another story, too. You know, a shorter one. :)

It Happens

It's often said Melville was a chapter into Moby Dick before he knew what story he wanted to write.

The wonderful thing about Tiggers is that they bounce. The wonderful thing about writers is they're full of stories waiting to cone out.

I look forward to both stories.

That's why my story is very much down & dirty

I knew that if I let my creative juice flow at their own rate, I'd end up with 20K words. So my story is short on back story and pretty much cuts to the chase.

Actually it is my second attempt to write a contest story. The first story got put on the shelf when it reach 16K words and I had just put all the pieces together for the main action. It was going to take another 10 to 15K words to complete.

The downside is that the story I did enter is far from my best and ended up far more forced fem than I'd like it to have.
