Augusta, Georgia:
Katlain was sitting at her desk at the police station she had been assigned to. She was working with five others that were part of a special task force inside the Augusta Police Department. She had a new partner named Joesph Young. Joesph just happened to be related to Angus Young from AC/DC. She had been surprised that her partner was the nephew of a famous musical artist.
“Young, Zane get your sorry asses in my office.” Sergeant Soffer stands in the doorway to his office looking towards Young and Zane.
“I wonder who pissed in his coffee this morning?” Katlain looks towards her partner when she says that.
“Who knows.” Young gets up off his chair and follows Katlian toward their Sergeant’s office.
“Shut the door behind you.” Sergeant Soffer looks at Zane and Young.
He knew Zane uses to work with Detective Harrison and his partner, Detective Jessica Madsen in Internal Affairs and was responsible for weeding out several corrupt cops and what had been happening at the police academy with the female recruits.
He also knew about her criminal background of being a car thief and illegal street racer. Rumors had it she was related to the owners of The Black Orchid Club. He has taken his wife to it a few times. It was a high-class club that was very expensive but offered the best in fine dining and such.
A year ago, they opened up a restaurant called ACES and it was rated as five stars. The food was excellent and the wait staff were very professional.
“So, what’s up chief?” Katlian looks towards their sergeant for why she and her partner were called into his office.
“I got a new case for you two to work on. Since you have experience going after White Supremacy groups. This one should be right up your avenue.” He hands the file he was given to Young and Zane.
Zane looks at the file and didn’t know anything about the group mentioned inside it. She has heard of most of the White Supremacy groups operating in Georgia. This group The Confederate Brotherhood was new to her. She hasn’t heard anything about it.
“What do you want us to do, boss?” Young looks at their boss.
“I want you to infiltrate it and gather information about it. The Feds are interested in a fellow by the name of Shawn Grubbs. He’s wanted for attacking a fellow student by the name of Maxine Puscat.”
“Why did he attack this, Maxine Puscat?” Katlian was curious.
“Because Maxine Puscat is a transgender student at his former high school. According to the detectives working the case. Shawn Grubbs was responsible for shooting Maxine Puscat with a slingshot, so he could join The Confederate Brotherhood.”
“I’ve heard of white supremacy groups doing that. It’s to prove that the person is serious about joining them and also to have leverage over them if they decided to leave the group.” Katlian has known a few groups like that during her time as a professional car thief.
“Did Maxine Puscat survive the attack?” Joe was curious if she had survived.
“Yes, luckily. According to Detective Spade, she’s recovering.”
“That’s good.” Katlian was happy the young woman was recovering.
“Well, it looks like we have our work cut out for us, partner.” Joe looks towards Katlian when he says that.
“And I know just where to start.” Katlian knew a few places where members of white supremacy groups hung out.
“Oh?” Young raises an eyebrow at that statement.
“Yep, let’s go partner.” Katlain gets up out of her chair.
“Where are we going, Katlian?” Joe knew Katlian knew the city of Augusta pretty well, especially the dark side.
“A place called Saxon’s Bar and Grill. If there is anyone who might know about this group, it’s a bartender that I know that goes by the name of Jester.” Katlain hopes Jester can help them out.
She knew Jester hosted illegal poker games and connected people with weapon suppliers. Hell, she has even bought a few illegal weapons from
Jester in the past. Jester had her fingers into a lot of different pies.
“I’m driving. You’re too dangerous behind the wheel.” Young has experienced some dangerous driving from Katlian.
“God, I hate it when you drive. I feel like I’m riding with a little ole lady.” Katlian grabs her wallet and gun from the bottom drawer.
“Come on Mrs. Daisy.” Joe escorts Katlian down to their police-issued undercover car.
Saxon’s Bar and Grill:
Forty minutes later, Joe and Katlian pull into the parking lot of a bar on the outskirts of Augusta. Joe noticed that there were a bunch of motorcycles parked in one area of the parking lot. As he looks around some more, he spots several pickup trucks sporting the rebel flag. He also notices that several cars looked like they had a bunch of upgrades done to them.
“How do know about this place, partner?” Joe looks at Katlian as they walk toward the front entrance of the place.
“I haven’t always been a cop or a goodie two shoes.” Katlain doesn’t miss the life she had before becoming a cop.
Now she could use what she knew about the criminal underworld to help others who became victims of people she uses to work with or helped. She walks in first and looks around. The place has had some upgrades since she was last in it. She noticed that the bar area had expanded and wrapped completely around and there were four young female bartenders tending to the bar.
Over on one side of the bar, she saw the owners of the motorcycles and recognizes who they were. She didn’t need to see the huge patch on the back of their vest. The leader of the gang was a guy that went by the nickname of Smoker. He was the leader of The Boars motorcycle club.
Joe noticed that Katlian had stopped and was surveying the place. He knew this was a common tactic for her. He looks around as well and notices several people carrying concealed weapons on them.
Katlian starts walking towards the bar towards a middle age woman with dark red hair dressed in black leather that showed off her oversized breasts. She looks at the woman “Is Jester working today?”
Goldie looks at the short auburn hair woman on the other side of the counter. She noticed the woman had been followed by a guy that stood at least a foot taller than the woman. She also noticed that he was wearing a dark business suit as well.
Goldie looks back down at the young woman “She’s off today. She won’t be back until tomorrow night.”
“Tell her Katlian Brownlow needs to speak to her.” Katlian pulls out a fifty-dollar bill and attach her cell number to it on a blank business card. She hands the business card to the middle age woman.
Goldie accepts the money and business card. She looks at the number and wonders who this young woman is and why she needs to speak to Jester. She knew Jester dealt in a lot of shady things.
Katlain turns and starts walking towards the entrance of the place. As she is walking towards the entrance, a young man with a dark tan wearing a flannel shirt exposing a dirty white undershirt underneath. He was wearing a baseball cap that said fuck pigs and fuck everyone else.
The young man looks at the young woman “Watch where you are going, bitch.”
Katlain looks at the young man “Excuse me. I didn’t see you there.”
“Well, next time just watch where you are going.” Fred looks at the young woman and then he notices the guy walking with her.
“I will. Here, why don’t you have a drink on me.” Katlian fishes out a few dollars from her pants pocket and hand it to him.
Fred accepts the money and just walks towards the counter to order another beer.
Katlian and Joe exit the building. He looks at her “You could have dropped that guy easily.”
“I know, but I wanted to keep things nice.”
Joe has seen his partner take down guys twice her size like they were nothing. Sometimes he is surprised by her actions. They walk together towards his car and get in it.
Katlain’s House:
Joe dropped Katlain off at her house after they had lunch and checked out a few of the properties that caught their interest as possible hiding or operating places for The Confederate Brotherhood. All the places they checked out didn’t show any signs of being used. They still had a few more places to check out.
“Thanks, Joe.” As Katlain starts getting out of his car.
“Kat, don’t go and investigate the other places without me.” Joe looks at his partner. He has heard how she had a habit of checking places out on her own.
Kat looks at Joe “I promise I won’t do anything without you.”
“I’m holding you to that.” Joe knew if Kat gave her word, she honored it.
Kat shuts the passenger side door and walks up the walkway towards her front door. She spots Molly’s convertible parked in the driveway. Her husband’s pickup truck was parked at her garage where they stored his rig. Declan was delivering a load in Wisconsin for Miller beer company.
Afterward, he was picking up a wood load to take to Ohio where they will turn the wood into plywood.
She had changed the locks on her door to electronic style. She enters the code and walks into the house. As soon as she walked into the house, she could hear the stereo playing music from the eighties. A smile forms on her face as she closes the door behind her. The teenager she and Declan took in, loved her collection of old music.
“Molly, I’m home.” Katlain puts her purse in her bedroom.
She puts her guns in the gun cabinet in her bedroom. She removes her shoes and slips her slippers on. She walks into the nursery to check on Katherine and notices she isn’t in there. She figures Molly must have her with her. She noticed the baby stroller was missing from the nursery.
Katlain walks over to the GPS tracker and searches for the stroller and notices it is heading back toward the house. She figures Molly must have taken Katherine for a walk. She walks into the kitchen and starts making dinner. She was in the mood for meatballs and spaghetti.
She starts making the meatballs by hand. It was made of Italian sausage, ground beef, and ground pork. She adds eggs, breadcrumbs, onions, and butter to it. Katlian makes the meatballs a little big and puts them in a baking pan to bake in the oven.
While the meatballs are baking. She starts on the sauce which she makes from scratch. Sometimes she cheats and uses already-made sauce, but tonight wants homemade sauce. She also prepared some garlic toast to go into the toaster oven when everything was ready.
Molly walks into the house and smells the aroma of herbs and garlic floating around in the air. She figures Katlain must be home, as she picks Katherine up out of the stroller. She looks at Katherine “Mommy, is home, sweetie.”
Molly walks into the kitchen holding Katherine in her arms. She spots Katlain cooking dinner.
“There is mommy, Kathy.” Molly smiles when she shows Katherine to her mommy.
“How was she, Molly?” Katlian looks over at Molly as she holds Katherine in her arms.
“She did extremely well. She loved her walk and loved swinging in her swing.” Molly loved babysitting Katherine.
She volunteered to babysit Katherine, so Julie and Faith could have a few days off. Katherine’s aunts recently became pregnant. She knew Katlain did a background check on the men the two ladies were seeing.
“How are you doing, Molly?” Katlain looks at Molly with a concerned look on her face.
“I’m doing okay. Living here with you and Declan has helped me a lot. Also, you two don’t judge me for what I had to do to survive.” Molly had to sell her body and do porn movies after she was forcefully changed from a male to a female.
She had been adopted by a couple through a private adaptation company. The couple would adopt kids and make pornographic movies of them. What they did to her, was unspeakable. She looked similar to the actress Molly Ringwald. So, her adoptive parents decided to turn her into the famous 80’s actress.
They pumped her full of estrogen and had plastic surgery done on her body. They removed her testicles and had her voice changed as well. Once they were done, they reshaped her body and made her act like a famous actress. She was pimped out to some creepy men who had her reenact some of the actress's famous scenes or scenes of their own.
She escaped from some men at a hotel who had been taking turns with her. She knew going to the police was out of the question. Because several of the cops in the police department had been clients of her adoptive parents and would come by and use her.
She managed to hitchhike from where she was or let the truckers, she rode with use her body when she ran into Declan at a truck stop. The trucker she had hitched a ride with had been rough with her when he was having sex with her. He had been choking her while going in and out of her body. His grip was so tight, that she was on the verge of blacking out.
She kneed him and jumped out of his truck, half-naked when she ran into Declan. She collapsed in his arms and when she came too. She was in his truck resting, with him up front doing paperwork.
They started talking and the next thing she knew, she was crying like a baby and being held by him. Afterward, he brought her to Georgia, where she met Katlain and has been living with them. Katlain has been treating her like a little sister.
“How can I hold what you had to do to survive? I used to be a car thief and stole from people. Not that some of them didn’t deserve it. I did it more for fun than for survival.” Katlain missed doing modeling work and working at the race track.
She also missed stealing cars as well. The thing was, she was good at it. However, when Katherine was left at her garage door. She decided to turn over a new leaf and go legit. It also didn’t help that Detective Harrison had a big influence on her decision as well.
“I know, but when people learn that you used to be a prostitute. They show nothing but disgust for you.”
“Well, you don’t have to worry about that here. How are your online classes going?” Katlain learned that Molly only had a six-grade education.
She and Declan signed Molly up for online courses to increase her education. She knew Molly was smart, but wanted Molly to see for herself, how smart she was.
“I passed my social and math test with eighty percent.” Molly was surprised at how well she did on them.
“See, I told you, you could do it. Do you need any help with anything else?” Katlian liked helping Molly.
“No ma’am.” Molly walks over and sits down on a stool.
Molly watches as Katlain cooks. She loved watching Katlian as she cooked. She once asked Katlain where she learned how to cook and was told that Katlain’s grandmother taught her how to cook.
“So, when will Declan be back?” Molly was curious.
“In two weeks. He’s going to grab a load going from Ohio down to Florida and pick up one that is coming here. He hates deadheading and doesn’t want to lose any money or fuel.”
“It will be nice to see him. I know Katherine misses her daddy.” Molly has already learned that Katherine is a daddy girl.
“She is a daddy girl.” Katlain knew her daughter was a daddy girl.
Once everything was ready, Katlain served up dinner, after letting Molly feed Katherine.
Around midnight, Katlain receives a phone call from Jester. She was in the process of reading some background info about what took place between Maxine Puscat and Shawn Grubbs. She picks her cell phone up off the nightstand and presses accept.
“Hello, Jester.”
“Hey Katlain, I heard you came by the bar today. What can I do for you?” Jester looks at a poster hanging on the wall in her office at the club.
“I need to know about a group that is operating in Georgia.” Katlain knew if anyone knew about the group, Jester would.
“You know information cost. What would a car thief like yourself want to know about this group?” Jester knew Katlain was one of the best car thieves around.
“It’s personal.”
“Are sure it's not something else?”
“I’m sure, Jester. Now, how about that info?” Katlain knew what Jester was hinting at.
“Well, since you have asked so nicely. There is a new group operating in Georgia, but the name eludes me.” A smile appears on Jester’s face.
She loved the cat-and-mouse game when it came to selling information.
“Alright, what is it that you would like?” Katlain knew Jester not only took money for info but other things as well.
“In this case Katlain since it is you. How about ten grand?” Jester knew she could use the money.
“Alright, ten grand it is, but I’m only giving you half now.” Katlain presses a special app on her cellphone and transfers money to Jester’s special account.
“I know half now and half later if the info is true.”
“Bingo.” Katlain never pays full price for anything.
Jester hears her cell phone beep, letting her know a transfer has been initiated. She watches as the money drops into her account.
“Thank you, Katlain. I’m sending the info now.” Jester sends the encrypted information to Katlain’s account.
Katlain watches as her screen flashes, letting her know she just received an encrypted message. She opens the file and notices that it contains information on the group and the location of their base. According to the information, the group was operating out of Washington County, GA. They own several of the old plantations in the historic area of Washington.
The place she and her partner went to investigate was owned by them as well. Finding this Shawn Grubbs is going to be difficult. Katlain glances at the clock on her nightstand and notices it is two in the morning. If she went asleep now, she could get six hours in.
Katlain puts her cell phone back on the charger and turns her lamp off. She snuggles down under the blankets and tries to fall asleep. It takes her some time, but eventually she falls asleep.
When Katlain wakes up in the morning. She checks on Katherine and feeds and burps her. Plus, change her diaper. She noticed Molly wasn’t awake yet, which was fine. It was Molly’s day off from babysitting Katherine.
She carries Katherine into the kitchen with her and holds her as she goes about making breakfast for herself. While the coffee is brewing, she looks into the eyes of her little girl. She never thought she was going to be a mother when she was younger.
“How’s my little girl doing this morning?” Katlain smiles at her little girl.
She couldn’t believe how big Katherine was getting. When she took Katherine to the doctor she found her outside her garage door. She was just a tiny little thing that had just been born. Now, she getting bigger and turning into a heartbreaker. She had everyone wrapped around her little finger.
After breakfast, Katlain grabs her diaper bag and leaves some money for Molly. She grabs the keys to her Mach One Mustang and drives over to Faith’s and Julie’s apartment. She was glad her friends had found someone they loved.
As she makes her way up to their apartment. She knocks on the front door.
“Coming.” Julie couldn’t believe she and her sister were pregnant at the same time. She could hear Faith in the bathroom throwing up.
She rushes to the front door and opens it. A smile appears on her face when she spots her sister Katlain and her niece.
“Katlain, it's so nice to see you. Come on in.” Julie steps aside to let Katlain inside the apartment.
“Thanks. How are you and Faith doing?” Katlain steps inside the apartment with Katherine.
“We’re still throwing up. Doctor Smith said it will pass by the beginning or so of our fourth month.” Julie didn’t like hearing that.
“I wish there was something I could do to help you.” Katlain wishes she could help her friends.
“I know, sweetie. So, is Katherine spending the day with us?” Julie smiles at Katherine and plays with her hand.
“Yeah, I thought I would give Molly the day off.” Katlain knew how much Faith and Julie loved Katherine.
“Well, you know that Katherine is always welcome over here.” Julie takes Katherine from Katlain and holds her.
“Wait until she gets older.” Katlain knows how toddlers and teenagers can be.
“She’ll always be welcome here and soon she’ll have company.” Julie couldn’t wait to be a mother.
“With all the practice you and Faith get taking care of Katherine. You’ll make wonderful mothers.”
“Thanks.”
“Here’s Katherine’s diaper bag.” Katlain hangs Katherine’s diaper bag on a nearby chair.
“Okay.” Julie looks at Katlain with a smile on her face.
“Tell Faith hi for me.” Katlain knew she needed to get to the office.
“I will.” Julie walks with Katlain to the door and watches as she leaves.
Once Katlain is in her Mustang. She drives towards the police station.
When Katlain arrives at work, she spots her partner. He was wearing another one of his suits. She takes a sip from her coffee cup as she sits down across from him.
“Morning, partner.” Joe looks at his partner.
“Morning. I heard back from Jester last night.” Katlain takes another sip from her coffee.
“What did your informant tell you?” Joe knew Katlain had connections all over the city.
“According to Jester, the group is operating out of Washington, GA.”
“That makes sense since it was where the Confederacy voted to dissolve itself. Also, it is a rumor that it's the last recorded location of the remaining Confederate gold is hidden.” Joe was a Civil War buff. He loved history.
“I didn’t know that, and I was born here.” Katlain was surprised when she heard that tad bit of information.
“You didn’t know that? Your family is one of the founding families of Augusta, GA.” Joe was surprised himself.
“Like I said, I’m surprised. There are only a few of us still alive.” Katlain knew that out of all the relatives she had. There were only fifty members of her bloodline still alive.
Most of her family either spread out and intermarried with other families or were killed in every war there has been. Back in the colonial days, the survival rate of children born wasn’t the greatest.
She was the last of her bloodline. Since a family bloodline is traced through the male line she no longer considers herself a male. Her line was pretty much ending with her. Her cousins, on the other hand, still had plenty of people to carry on the family name.
“Well, if the group is operating out of Washington, Ga. Maybe we should start searching there.”
“That’s what I was thinking. However, before we head there, we need to do something about how you are dressed. Because you are going to stick out like a sore thumb.” Katlain figures if they change how Joe looks, things might be better.
“What’s wrong with how I’m dressed?” Joe thought he looked nice.
“If I was still a crook, I would know right away you were a cop. You need to blend in and make these people think you are one of them. The way you are dressed, you look like a federal agent or cop.” Katlian hated telling her partner this.
“What do you suggest?” Joe figures maybe Katlain was right.
“Let’s go shopping.” Katlain grabs her purse and starts leaving their work area.
Joe follows behind her, after grabbing his jacket. He noticed that she drove her Mustang this morning.
“I see you brought the stang this morning.” As he gets in on the passenger side.
“Yeah, but if we are going to Washington to investigate this group. I’ll need to go by my garage and switch to another one of my cars.
Joe looks at Katlain “How many do you own?”
“About eighty vehicles.” Katlain had a large collection of vehicles spread out in different garages and warehouses she owned.
“Eighty. When do you drive all of them?” Joe couldn’t imagine having over eighty vehicles.
“I don’t. Some of them are for show, some are from famous movies and the ones I use the most are for various jobs I do.” Katlain also had some
she used for various jobs for her cousins.
“Are they all legal?” Joe wonders if Katlain stole some of them.
“Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies.” Katlain paid for most of her collection. Some of them she rebuilt herself.
Katlain takes Joe to an outdoor store and to several different thrift stores to get the right look. She also picks up a few changes of clothes as well. They spend a good three hours clothes shopping and coming up with a look that suits both of them.
Once they have the clothes, they go to the warehouse where she stores all her SUVs, RVs, campers, and pickup trucks. When Joe sees Katlain’s collections of trucks, campers, and other vehicles, his jaw drops.
“Where did you get all of these?” Joe looks at the various vehicles.
“Long story. Now, let's change and I think we’ll take this one here.” Katlain walks over to a jacked-up 4x4 that looks like something a redneck would have.
“Where in the world did you get this truck?” Joe gets in on the driver's side.
“I built it from the ground up from an old 1989 Dodge Ram Cummins Turbodiesel. This thing has been heavily modified and decked out to go through mud and outrun most police cars.” Katlian climbs into the cab.
Joe noticed the CB radio and radar detector. It also had a police scanner as well. There was a short-wave radio in the truck as well.
“This truck is equipped with Nitrous oxide as well.” Katlain figures it would come in handy.
“This truck has nitrous?” Joe looks at Katlain to confirm what she just said.
“Yes, but it's for last resort.”
Joe goes to start the truck, but it won’t start. He tries again and again it won’t start.
“Why won’t this truck start?” As he looks at Katlain.
“It has a kill switch in it.” Katlain reaches under the driver's seat and flips it on.
“You could have told me.” Joe wonders why Katlain did that.
“And give away all my secrets?” Katlain had kill switches in every vehicle she owned. Along with trackers as well.
Joe started the truck and loved how it sounded. He watches as Katlain presses a button on the dash and the warehouse door opens. Once they were halfway under the door. Joe watches as Katlain presses the button again.
“Making sure the door closes?” Joe spotted Katlain turning around in her seat to look out the back window.
“Yep.”
Once they were away from the warehouse. They start heading towards Washington.
“What name do you want to use?” Joe drove as Katlain sat next to him.
“Let’s see.” Katlain opens the glove box and pulls out the registration.
She registered the truck under Richard Westen and Barbara Westen. She had everything in the truck she needed to create false IDs for them. She hands a worn-looking wallet to Joe.
“Give me your wallet.”
Joe digs his wallet out and hands it to Katlain. He watches as she accepts it lifts her seat cushion and places their real IDs in a safe under the
seat cover.
“You have a safe in here?” Joe was surprised.
“Yep. Doesn’t everyone?” Katlain looks at Joe with a playful smile on her face.
“You are having too much fun.” Joe couldn’t believe how Katlain was acting.
“You haven’t seen anything yet.” Katlain makes herself comfortable as she watches Joe drive.
Katlain was getting fed up with some of the guys in the bar grabbing her ass. She was wearing some of her shortest shorts and no bra. She knew the sluttier you look, the more tips you got from these guys. A few times she has been proposed to a few times.
She had to be careful around a few men. Some of them liked rough sex even thou she is into rough sex. The roughness they were into went beyond her tolerance. Some of the women who have been with them came back with bruises and walking stiffly.
One night while Katlain was getting some beer from the back for the bartender. She is grabbed from behind and a needle is inserted into her neck. Her body goes weak and falls forward into a bunch of empty boxes.
Craig picks Dixie/Katlain up and carries her out the back door of the place. He tosses her into the trunk of his car and gets in. He backs out of the parking space and leaves the bar.
Joe hears the tracking device Katlain wears start beeping as it leaves the bar. He looks at it and knows her shift hasn’t ended yet.
“Where are you going, Katlain?” He waits a few minutes before following the tracking device.
He knew Katlain had taken precautions just in case someone had managed to get the upper hand on her. Not that he had to worry that much about her. She was resourceful and full of surprises.
Craig heads out into the woods on a private road. He stops at two shipping containers. One was green and looked to have been out in the woods for a while and the other was a dirty orange color. There was a fire pit with irons in it sticking out.
He turns the car off and gets out to open the trunk of the car. Before he opens the trunk, he opens the container door and checks the chains and locks. Once he is satisfied with everything. He walks back out to his car picks up Katlain’s unconscious body carries her into the container and secures her ankle and arms.
He looks at her as she lies on the wooden floor of the container he thinks about all the fun, he and his men are going to have with her. He walks out and locks the container. He walks over to the other one and unlocks it. He opens the doors and looks inside an evil smile appears on his face as he looks at the teenage girl naked and chained up inside. He and his men have been having fun with her.
Joan scampers back against the back wall of the container as the door opens. As the door opens, she spots one of the men that have been sexually abusing her. He and his group of men have been having their way with her.
“I brought you a playmate. I want you to make sure the two of you entertain us tonight. Don’t worry, if she is good. You’ll get your wish to be free.” Craig laughs as he shuts the door and locks it.
Joe has been watching as the guy that kidnapped Katlain went to the second container and opened it. He manages to record what the guy says and watches as he closes the doors. He waits until the guy leaves, before moving to the container that the guy put Katlain in. He jams the door open, so it doesn’t get shut on him.
He spots Katlain passed out and chained up. He walks over to her and uses her lock pick tools to unlock the shackles and ankle shackles. He picks her up and carries her out of the container. He wishes he knew what that prick gave her, so he could counter it. He lays her down on the ground, as he goes over to the second container and opens it. When he looks inside the container, he spots a naked teenage girl chained up like Katlain. He notices where someone had used branding irons on her and left their marks on her pale skin body.
Joan looks up and notices a new guy standing in the doorway of the container she was in. She scampers back against the wall of the container whimpering and feeling frightened.
“Easy, I’m not here to hurt you. I’m a police officer.” He pulls his badge out and shows her.
Joan doesn’t trust this guy. She’s been fooled before by a person claiming to be a police officer.
“Look, I’m going to set you free. My partner is unconscious outside.” Joe moves carefully towards the girl and uses the lock picks to unlock her shackles.
Joan watches and notices her wasn’t using a key to unlock her shackles. She lets him escort her out of the container and sees a black-haired woman lying on the ground. She looked around cautiously to see if there was anyone else to jump out and grab her.
Joe looks over the woman to see what injuries she has sustained. She had numerous brandings burned into her body and several bruises on her body. Her wrists were raw where the shackles had been rubbing against her skin.
He tends to her wounds and waits for Katlain to wake up. He would take both women to town to the doctor, but he didn’t know who was working with the group they were investigating. He fixes her something hot to drink and heats some food for her. He and Katlain kept the van stocked with supplies, just in case they were stuck somewhere.
Katlain wakes up a few hours later feeling sick to her stomach. She spots Joe tending to a young teenage girl. She looks at Joe “Where the fuck am I?”
“You were kidnapped from the bar by one of the patrons.” Joe looks over toward his partner when he hears her question.
“Which prick?” Katlain tried to stand, but couldn’t. Her legs were responding to her.
Joe saw Katlain trying to stand but falling. He moves over to her “Easy, your body is still fighting whatever drug he used on you.”
Katlain looks at her partner “Which prick did this to me?”
“A guy named Craig Klingman. He’s got a record of assault against women.” Joe used their portable connection to run the image and license plate.
The plate came back belonging to Jack Klingman, but the image of the man he took came back as Craig Klingman. He had a colorful record of assault against women. He had a long record of various crimes.
“Tell me what happened?” Katlain tries sitting up and notices the teenage girl.
“I don’t know exactly what happened to you Katlain, but whatever was done to you, was done this this girl as well.” Joe has been trying to get the girl to open up to him.
“Give me my cell phone, Joe.”
“Who are you going to call, Katlain?” As Joe grabs Katlain’s normal cell phone from the van.
“A friend of mine to come out and get our friend here. She needs medical attention.” Katlain noticed how bad off the girl was.
“So, do you.” As Joe hands Katlain her cell phone.
“Oh, I’ll get it after I get revenge first.” Katlain didn’t like when people messed with her.
After leaving Saxon’s Bar and Grill. Katlain gives directions to Axis Realty. She knew a person who did real estate and if there was anyone who might know if someone was setting up an organization in town. Bert Mittelberg would know. He had his fingers in a lot of illegal activities around Augusta.
Joesph looks at his partner when she starts giving him directions to the real estate company. He wonders how much she knew that occurred around Augusta.
“How connected are you to the underworld here?” As Joe glances at Katlain.
“I know a few people. My family can trace their heritage back to being one of the founding families of Augusta.” Katlain knew her family hasn’t always been angels. A few of her descendants had been pirates, mercenaries, slave owners, gamblers, robbers, and moonshiners.
“You know, there is a rumor going around the station that you use to be a thief.” Joesph tried to find out about his partner when he first got
assigned to her. She was rather young to be a full fledge detective.
A sly smile appears on Katlain’s face “You have no idea, partner.”
Joe just shakes his head as he follows Katlain’s direction. After twenty-five minutes of driving. He pulls into the parking lot of a place that looks like it could be on the cover of Home & Garden magazine. He parks the car next to a black SUV.
As they the two of them walk towards the entrance of the place. Joe noticed the security cameras around the building and in the parking lot.
“Boy, this place takes their security seriously.”
“Some of them are fakes. The owner of this property deal in a lot of high-priced properties around Augusta and the nearby cities and suburbs.”
Katlain owned a few properties under one of her fake names that made her money.
As they walk into the place, they are greeted by a young woman with long golden blonde hair. She smiles at them “Welcome to Axis Realty. How can I help you today?”
“We would like to Mr. Mittelberg, Martha.” Katlain smiles at Martha. She knew that Martha was the daughter of one of the owners of Axis Realty.
Martha looks at the auburn hair woman and realized it was Mrs. Brownlow. The smile on her face gets bigger.
“I’ll see what I can do for you, Mrs. Brownlow.” Martha picks the phone up and presses Mr. Mittelberg’s extension.
“Thank you, Martha.” Katlain watches Martha and listens to the conversation.
Joe just stands next to Katlain and listens as well.
When Martha is done talking to Mr. Mittelberg. She looks at Katlain “He’ll see you.”
“Thank you, Martha.” Katlain leads the way to Mr. Mittelberg’s office.
“Why did she call you Mrs. Brownlow?” Joe was curious about that.
“It’s my maiden name. I did some business with them in the past.” After walking up to the second floor and down the right-hand hallway. They come to a corner office.
Katlain knocks on the door.
“Enter.” Mr. Mittelberg looks at the door.
He already knew who was on the other side of the door. The security camera hidden in the hallway showed him who it was. The woman he
recognized, but the man he didn’t. If he had to guess. The man might be a cop or a federal agent by the way he was dressed.
He wonders why Mrs. Brownlow brought him to his office. He stands up as they walk into the office. A fake smile appears on his face “What can I do to you, today?”
“Mr. Mittelberg, it’s been a long time.” Katlain extends her hand to Mr. Mittelberg to shake.
“That it has, Mrs. Brownlow.” As he shakes her hand.
Katlain shakes Mr. Mittelberg hand. She could tell by the way he shook her hand. That he was shocked they were in his office.
“Mr. Mittelberg, I would like for you to meet my friend, George Thomas. He’s interested in seeing what property might be good to invest in.”
Katlain couldn’t tell him that they were cops.
“Well, let’s see what I can do to help you.” Mr. Mittelberg loved making money and helping others.
“I knew you were the man for the job, Mr. Mittelberg.” Katlain smiles sweetly at Mr. Mittelberg.
She knew how to play to his ego to get what they needed. If she could get around getting a search warrant, she would. She just had to prove to Mr. Mittelberg that her partner wasn’t a cop, but a well-off guy with money.
Mr. Mittelberg liked the compliments Mrs. Brownlow was giving him. He loved how she flirted and batted her eyes towards him.
“Now, let's see what properties I have available for investment.” Mr. Mittelberg brings up a bunch of properties and projects them on the wall for them to view.
For the next few hours, Mr. Mittelberg shows them different properties. Katlain notices that the property the Feds raided last year was listed. The new owners were looking for investors. They claimed the property was a survival camp where anyone could come to learn how to survive.
Katlain makes a mental note about the properties she wanted to make a midnight visit to. But first, she still wanted to talk to Jester and see if she knew anything. She knew Jester knew about most of the gangs and groups that operated out of Augusta.
By the time Katlain and Joe leave, they had several printouts of properties. Neither one of them talked about the properties as they walked out of the building. Once they were outside and in Joe’s car.
Joe looks at Katlain “I take it, you recognized some of those properties.”
“Yeah, the survival camp one and the old campground in Fort Gordon. Those two raise some red flags with me.” Katlain watches as Joe drives.
“Well, let's go and grab some lunch, and afterward, check these places out.” Joe trusted his partner.
“Sounds, good to me.”
Smithy’s Bar and Grill:
Katlain walks provocatively from the bar to one of the private rooms, carrying an order of drinks for the occupants. She had managed to get a job as a waitress at the bar. She and her partner learned on their initial visit that the group they were looking into hung out here at the bar.
After digging into the owner of the bar’s background. Katlain and her partner had learned he had always supported the neo-Nazi group and came from a family of clan supporters. Most of his relatives have been members for ages, and some of them were serving time in prison for acts they had committed.
Since this would be a long-term assignment, she arranged with her cousins to watch after Katherine while she went undercover. She would have asked Faith and her sister, but both had their hands busy with being pregnant. She pulled one of her rusty looking chevy cars from storage and was using that for transportation.
Her partner would monitor her while she worked. He was also recording everything the group said from the hidden mics and cameras she had installed in the room. The owner didn’t know anything about it, because she came in while the bar was closed to bug the place. Even his office was bugged as well.
She still had to bug his home, but she planned on doing that during one of her days off. Right now, she needed to play the dumb white trash girl. A smile appears Katlain’s face as she enters the private room.
In her best southern voice “here we go, gentlemen.” As goes about setting the pitchers and mugs of beer on the table in front of them.
She was wearing a concealed camera in a necklace she wore. If anyone looked at it, all they would see was a naked girl figurine. She was also
wired for sound as well. That way, her partner could hear everything on around her.
Charming the bar manager was easy. She turned on the Southern charm she used to use when she was gathering information. Most people underestimated her when she went undercover.
“Come, mere darling, and let ole’ Jake plant a kiss on that beautiful face of yours.” Jake looked over towards Dixie as she sat the drinks down.
A smirk appears on Katlain’s/Dixie’s face as she smiles sweetly at him. She knew how drunk he was and that when he and several others were
drunk, they got frisky. She feels her ass grabbed and squeezed.
“I have a better idea for her.” Clyde wanted to tap that sweet ass of Dixie’s.
Katlain smiles sweetly as she manages to escape both men. She wanted to play hard to get. Also, she had no idea what diseases these men had.
“Ah, come on guys, let's leave the bedroom speech for later?” Katlain smiles sweetly at them and bats her eyelashes at them.
The men pick their glasses of drinks up and drink from them. Katlain knew sooner or later she would have to go home with one of them and see what she could learn about them. She keeps serving them beer while spiking a few of the glasses with a drug.
Around midnight, the bar starts closing down. She ends up leaving with a guy named Barney. According to what she learned about him, he was a member of the local Aryan nation. She rode home with him and let him paw at her. He tried several times to get his hands down her pants.
When they arrived at his place, it looked like your typical Aryan nation members' houses. There were Nazi posters and symbols around the home. By the time they got inside, Katlain had noticed that Barney got a little more aggressive with his making out.
It was a good thing that by the time they fell onto his bed. That the drug she slipped him had put his ass out. The only way anyone was going to wake him was with a taser.
Katlain puts her earpiece in her ear and taps it. “I’m in.”
“Good. Did he give you any problems?” Joe had followed behind them at a distance in the surveillance van.
“He was like putty in my hands. However, if my husband had seen him trying to get into my pants, he would be missing a hand.” Katlain knew what her husband would do to him.
Katlain slips a thumb drive from her pocket and uses it to gain access to Barney’s computer system. While that is sending information to Joe out in the van. Katlain uses her own cell phone to copy information from Barney’s cell phone.
She looks around his place and notices all the military hardware Barney had collected. His gun collection alone would make most gun collectors proud.
“Joe, you should see how many guns this guy has.”
“Can you get the serial numbers off the guns and send them to me?” Joe could see if any of them were registered or had been used in a crime.
“No problem.” Katlain goes through all the guns and sends their serial numbers to Joe. She finds a few that the serial numbers had been erased off of.
Whoever did it did a good job erasing the serial numbers. From what she could see, they used acid to erase the numbers. By five in the morning, she had collected everything from Barney. She left a kiss on his cheek and slipped outside to ride with her partner.
When Katlain gets into the van, she looks over toward Joe. “Did you get everything?”
“I got it. Who’s next on your list?” Joe knew Katlain kept a list of who her targets were.
“The owner of the bar is next. There is something strange about him I don’t trust.” Katlain had a feeling he was hiding something.
“You know the best time for him is when he is up here.” Joe has been monitoring the guy.
“I know.” Katlain covers up a yawn as she watches Joe drives them to her place.
She’ll take a cab tomorrow to pick her car up at the bar. If Barney ask her how she got home, she’ll lie and tell him she caught an Uber. She knew they had a few here in Washington.
When Joe drops Katlain off at her place. She waves goodbye and walks into her place and start removing her clothes. She takes a shower to get Barney’s aftershave off her body. After her shower, she sets her alarm clock and crawl into bed.
While Katlain and Joe are waiting for Katlain’s friend to show up. Her body manages to get over the drug that was used on her. She felt sick to her stomach, but the effects were slowly fading away.
The woman that showed up to take the teenage girl was in her fifties and looked like she could be someone’s grandmother. Katlain introduces her to Joe as Stephanie Moore but suspected that she might go by a different name. Since Joe managed to record what Craig Klingman said to the other girl about coming back to have some fun.
Katlain has Joe hide their van and she changes into a black pair of cargo pants and a black shirt. She grabs a few explosives and start rigging the doors on the containers. She wasn’t going to kill them, but she was going to make it hurt. She didn’t know how many men were coming back with Craig, so she was going to setup explosives around their campsite.
She looks over her handy work before climbing a tree and wait for Craig and his friends to show up. She looks over to where Joe was hidden.
While she had been rigging the area around the campsite. He had been rigging the road that led back to the campsite. If anyone tried to escape, several trees would fall blocking their path.
Katlain was chewing on a piece of beef jerky and watching the road leading to them. Around late into the evening, she spots three sets of headlights coming their way. She lets Joe know, so he’ll be ready.
She watches as they pull right up to the containers and as two guys from one vehicle get out of a silver pickup truck. The second vehicle had four guys exit from it and the last vehicle, which was a modified pickup truck. Two guys exit from it. One of the guys tosses a beer can towards the firepit.
“Craig, who’s this new girl you brought for us to enjoy tonight?” Jerry looks over towards Craig as he grabs a beer form the cooler in the back of
the truck.
“You know that new waitress down at the bar?”
“Yeah, the one with the sweet looking ass? Man, I want to use her mouth and see how deep she can take a cock in it.” Jerry rubs his groin area.
“Man, I want to see how tight her pussy is. That other bitch’s pussy is getting loose, and I want to break in a new one.”
“Well, you guys will get a chance to break in a new piece of ass tonight. After we break her in, then we can mark her as our personal fuck property.” Craig couldn’t wait to hear Dixie scream form being branded.
“How long are we going to keep the other bitch around?” Pete wanted to hunt her down and kill her.
“Depends on how good this other girl does. Having two bitches to fuck, is better than standing around and waiting.” Craig walks over to container that held Katlain.
Katlain heard everything the men were saying about her. She is going to love hurting them. She signals Joe to move on her signal. She watches as Craig opens the container door and when it was opened wide enough. She presses the remote and set off the explosion.
Craig and another guy standing near him are caught off guard as rocks, pinecones, and tree branches come flying out and hit them. The other guys turn around when they hear the explosion and watch as their friend get hit from debris.
The explosion wasn’t enough to knock them off their feet, but strong enough to pellet them with debris and hurt them. The ground near the container start exploding. The guys standing around, soon find themselves being blown off their feet.
“What the fuck?” Pete was trying to figure out what was going on.
Freddy had landed on his back and had the wind knocked out of him. A few of the other guys were dazed and confused. The beer can he had been holding explodes.
“Who’s out there?” Wayne was looking out into the woods trying to locate the shooter.
Katlain takes careful aim and shoot the ground between Wayne’s leg. If she was just an inch higher, she would hit him in his groin area. It was a tempting target, but she didn’t want to hurt him to much right now.
“Now, you clowns are going to tell me where I can find Shawn Grubbs?” Katlain had the rifle aimed right at Craig.
“We don’t know a Shawn Grubbs.” Mack was looking towards the woods when he spoke.
A bullet pings off the ground near his feet. He didn’t see a flash or anything, which meant the person was using a silencer and flash suppressor.
“Let’s try this again. Where is Shawn Grubbs?” Katlain was going to shoot one of the guys in his leg if they didn’t give her anything.
“I told you. We don’t know a Shawn Grubbs.” Craig tries to locate the shooter.
Katlain pulls the trigger and shoots craig in his left inner thigh. She aims a little higher “next time I’ll take something off that’s important to you. Now, answer MY FUCKING QUESTION!”
“Honestly, we don’t know a Shawn Grubbs. Were into having fun with young teenage girls.” Pete didn’t want to watch his friend lose his manhood.
“Fine. A friend of mine is going to come out and start handcuffing you. Later, you’re going to tell us what you did to your past victims and where they are buried. You try anything, I’m going to put a bullet right between your eyes.”
She motions to Joe to start zip cuffing these jack asses while she protected him. While that is going on, she sends a text to the highway patrol to come and get these jerks. Her and Joe have other things to do.
By the time the State police finally show up. Her and Joe were getting tired and were on their four cups of coffee.
“What’s your plan now?” Joe looks at Katlain.
“Same as it was before. Except with some modification to it. I’ll break into Richie’s house and look around. I have a feeling he knows more then he is letting on.”
“Alright, now let’s get out of here and get some sleep.” Joe covers up a yawn.
“Fine with me.” As Katlain gets in the passenger seat of the van.
Joe and Katlain’s hotel room:
Katlain stretches as she gets out of bed. She felt slightly sore as she walked into the bathroom to relieve herself. As she is sitting on the toilet thinking about her husband and daughter. She wonders what action she and Joe should take next.
So far, Shawn Grubbs is being evasive, driving her crazy. Usually, she wouldn’t try to be sneaky and play by the rules in trying to find him. She would go straight to the source to get the information.
However, Judge Wolf wanted her to make sure everything she did. He wanted her on the up and up. Sure, she could go into the grey area if she needed to. However, she couldn’t go too far into the grey area.
As Katlain finishes doing her morning business and washing her hands afterward. She walks back into the common area of the hotel room and sits down at the table their laptop is sitting on. She looks at all the information she and Joe have learned so far. Everything points to the fact that Shawn was here with the brotherhood. She leans back in her seat and stares at the information.
Joe wakes up and steps into the bathroom to do his morning business as Joe finishes with his morning business. He walks into the common area and notices Katlain looking at their laptop.
“Morning.” Joe walks over to the coffee maker to brew himself a cup of coffee.
“Morning.” Katalin looks over toward Joe.
“What are you up to this early in the morning?” Joe was curious why Katlain was up early.
“My body decided that I needed to get up. Also, I miss my daughter and husband.” Katalin never thought she ever admits that.
“It must be hard for you. So, have you discovered something we might have missed?” Joe walks over and sits down next to Katlain.
“No, I still think Richie is a good lead. Since he is always at the club, I should be able to break into his house and find what we need.”
“Alright, let’s do that this evening. He should be at the bar and probably hasn’t heard about you yet.”
“But he might have heard about those men we arrested.” Katlain wonders what his connection might be to them.
“Maybe let’s grab some breakfast and get to work.” Joe takes a sip from his coffee cup.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Katlain gets up and fixes herself a cup of coffee.
Later during the day, Joe and Katlain drive by Richie’s place. They noticed that his car wasn’t there.
“I’m going to go ahead and check the place out. Keep an eye open for me.” Katalin gets out of the van and makes her way toward Richie’s place.
Joe watches as Katlain makes her way towards Richie’s place. Breaking into a place during the daytime was dangerous. A person could be spotted immediately, but with how the places were set up. They had some privacy.
Katlain is careful as she approaches Richie’s place. She noticed he had a lot of dogs and security cameras monitoring his place. Some of the cameras were concealed among the trees surrounding Richie’s place. She avoids them as she moves closer and closer. To keep the dogs from giving her away. She tosses two grenades of knockout gas at them. She waits as the dogs are affected by the gas. She’ll retrieve the grenade canisters before leaving.
Katlain makes it to the house and notices a few cameras. She temporarily disables them before entering the house. The inside was nice and well-kept. She wonders who did his house cleaning.
“You won’t believe how neat this place is, Joe.” Katlain couldn’t believe how neat it was.
“Do you think he has someone come in to clean his place?” Joe was seeing everything Katlain was seeing. She had a small body camera mounted on her body.
“He might, but I doubt it.” As Katlain continues to search the place.
After a while, she stops in the middle of the room and looks around. Something didn’t seem right to her.
“What’s wrong?” Joe had noticed Katlain stopping and looking around.
“Something seems off about this room.” Katlain walks over to one side of the room and kneels to look at the floor.
“You think he has a hidden room?” Joe had caught onto what Katlain was hinting at.
“Yeah, the dimensions are off for this room.” Katlain finds clues and finally finds the hidden door and how to open it.
The door opens, and the lights come on inside the room.
“Jack pop!” Katlain looks at all the camera feeds and the server Richie had in there. He even had a satellite hookup.
“Man, this guy is well connected.” Katalin pulled out the flash drive that had her password cracker programs.
“I can tell. So far, you’re clear. Nothing is going on out here.” Joe was watching the monitors inside of the van.
“Alright, Mr. Richie. Let’s see how connected you are.” As Katlain starts going through the files.
Katalin clicks on several folders, and after a while, she hits the jackpot. A smile appears on her face as she copies everything to a portable drive. At the same time, the computer was doing that.
She does some more searching and finds his hidden weapons room. She couldn’t believe everything inside the room. He had hi-tech-looking body armor and weapons you would expect to find at DARP research.
“Where does a backwater hick like Richie get weapons and armor of this caliber?” Katalin notices Richie had a few drones that could have missiles or grenades and drop them.
He even had a few that DARP had been working on that you could send and kill your opponents. They had a small explosive charge built into them. They were called suicide drones.
“Are you seeing this?” Katlain picks one up to look at it.
“Yeah, I thought the Geneva Conventions outlawed those?” Joe knew a little about it.
“Beats me. I think it's cheating when you send mindless robots to do your killing.” Katlain takes pictures of them and all the items needed to build them.
Katalin returned everything to how it was before returning to the computer room. She noticed it still had 15% to copy. She looks around some more and finds a hidden safe.
“Let’s see if I can crack this thing.” Katalin noticed it had a fingerprint scanner.
She heads towards the kitchen, finds a dirty glass, and copies the fingerprints. She uses the copy to open the safe and finds a bunch of bundled-up bills.
“Oh, this is so tempting.” Katlain grabs a bundle and fingers the bills.
“Don’t do it, Katlain. Remember why we are here.” Joe knew Katlain was tempted.
“I won’t.” As she slips a few bills out of the stack and pocket them.
She closed the safe and checked the progress. She watches as the last few percentages finish up.
“It’s about time.” Katlain disconnects the hard drive and sets everything back like it was.
Katalin makes her way out to the van and looks at Joe. “Got it. Let’s get out of here.”
“Alright.” Joe puts the van into gear and returns to the old police station.
Abandon Police Station:
When Joe and Katlain arrived back at the old police station. She showed Joe what she recovered from Richie’s computer system. They had access to every listing of White Supremacy groups in the United States. Including groups, they hadn’t even heard of.
Katlain looks at Joe “You don’t think these are homegrown terrorist groups, do you?”
“Let me check them out.” Joe takes a snapshot of the list and sends it to a friend of his in the FBI.
Katlain goes back to looking at the other information. She wanted to know where Shawn Grubbs was among the group. She scans the emails
Richie downloaded and recorded on his system. The files were encrypted, but thanks to the software she got from Rat a few years ago. She uses it to decrypt the emails.
“Bingo! I found the bastard. He’s at the training camp along with twenty other recruits they recruited.” Katlain looks at Joe.
“Good, that means we can serve the warrant we have for him.” Joe knew there was a warrant for Shawn’s arrest for the attempted murder of his fellow student at his high school.
“It’s going to be difficult to arrest him. Remember, they have that place booby trap and rigged.” Katlain leans back in her seat.
“I think this is going to require one of your special infiltration plans.” Joe knew Katlain was good at getting into places other people couldn't.
“I think I can put something together.” Katlain goes back to going through some more emails.
A smile appears on Joe’s face as he starts making some coffee. He knew they were going to work late. The hidden mics Katlain planted in Richie’s office were recording everything that was said in his office.
While Katlain was going through some emails. She finds a few sent to Richie from some people who sound like they were government agents or something.
“Hey, Joe take a look at this.” Katlain moved aside so Joe could read the emails.
Joe moves over in front of the laptop and starts browsing through the emails Katlain was concerned about. He was noticing the same thing she had. These emails were from well-connected military people or someone in Congress.
Joe looks at Katlain “Richie is getting help from someone in the local, state, and federal government.”
“Yep, and this means it goes deeper than we thought.” Katlain starts pacing back and forth.
“The question who are these emails from? You know as well as I do, it's easy to create a false email address.” Joe looks at Katlain when he says that.
“True. We could back trace the IP address to see where the email came from.” Katlain knew they could do that.
“True. Are you still on good terms with your hacker buddy?” Joe knew Katlain had associates all over the place.
“Yeah, He loves a challenge.” Katlain sends Rat a message.
A few minutes later, she gets a reply. She reads it and then looks towards Joe “he said he’ll do it for me.”
“Good.” Joe moves out of the way and lets Katlain sit back down.
Katlain started typing away and attaching the emails she needed backtracking. Once she was done, she sent the email off. Afterward, she does some more digging into the information they stole.
By the late afternoon, Joe and Katlain have gone over as much as possible. They got some aerial photos from Google Maps about the camp where the recruits were taken. They also located where the barracks were and got a look at the perimeter.
“I think a helicopter is going to be our best bet. We’re going to need a third person to pull this job off.” Katlain was trying to think of someone she could call. If nothing else she could call her cousins to send someone to help them.
“I think I know someone who can help us. I can fly the helicopter without any problems.” Joe trained to be a helicopter pilot while in the army.
“If we can get the second person, I’ll need them to cover me while on the ground. I can get close and knock Shawn out.” Katlain knew she could do it.
“You do know they will be firing at us, don’t you?” Joe looks at Katlain when he says that.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to make it hard for them to see you.” Katlain could get her hands on some smoke grenades and flash bangs.
“So, where are we going to get the helicopter?” Joe looks at Katlain questionable look on his face.
“The State Police. We can use our special clearance for it. If not, I can always rent a helicopter.” Katlain had resources she hadn’t touched yet.
“Let’s hope they aren’t that smart.”
“We’re talking about a group of rednecks that like pretending they are experienced soldiers.” A playful look appears on Katlain’s face.
“Don’t forget, those rednecks have military-style weapons and weapons developed by DARPA as well.” Joe figures he needs to remind Katlain of that.
“True. I just hope Rat can figure out who their contact is that is selling those types of weapons.” Katlain needs to reach out to some of her contacts in the underworld and find out for herself.
The rest of the evening, Joe and Katlain go over a plan to infiltrate the place. Also, emergency plans as well, should things go south as well.
The State Police turned down Katlain and her partner's request to use their helicopter. They were told they would need a court order to do what they wanted to do. Since that put a monkey wrench in Katlain’s plan. She had to come up with an alternate.
She calls her cousins to see if they might know someone to help her out. Joe watches as Katlain makes a few phone calls to see if she can find a pilot willing to help them out. They have already rearranged the plan some. Katalin was going to sneak in under the dark into the camp.
They were under the clock because Katlain would use the upcoming new moon for cover, with no moon out and her bodysuit totally black. She can sneak into the camp and cause chaos.
She didn’t have everything she’d need, but she could use what they had inside the camp. At the same time, she is waiting for her cousins to call her back. She and Joe go over the plan again and adjust it.
“You know, this old police station is coming in handy.” Katlain liked using an old police station as their staging area.
“It's too bad they shut this place down.” Joe had done some background information on the place.
At one time, Washington county had a police force and a sheriff department. However, due to budget cuts and corruption. The police force got shut down and the sheriff department took over their duties. Since the police station costs more to operate, they closed down and moved a lot of its equipment to the building the sheriff's department was based out of.
“I know. I might see if Washington County will sell it to me.” Katlain was thinking about what she could do with it.
“Do I want to know what you have in mind?” Joe knew Katlain owned several buildings.
“Nothing bad, I promise.”
Just as those words come out of Katlain’s mouth, her cell phone beeps, letting her know a text message just arrived. She looks at it and notices it is from her cousin. It was a name for a pilot for higher and the person's contact info.
Katlain looks at Joe. “Are you up to a road trip?”
“Sure, what’s up?” Joe was curious.
“My cousins came through on a pilot; we can higher.”
“Let’s go then.” Joe grabs his light jacket.
Sky High Air Service, Elbert County Airport – EBA, Elbert County, Georgia:
Lori was in her office trying to figure out how she would cover this month’s rent on her hangar. The job she had counted on to pay the rent. The clients backed out at the last minute.
Lori leans back in her office chair and takes a sip from her coffee cup. She still had her retirement check from the military in a few weeks. She rubs a spot on her leg where she had been injured while serving in the military.
She looks out towards the airfield and notices no one was coming or going. It was so quiet out there. She takes another sip from her coffee mug.
As Lori is watching the airfield. She notices a black SUV coming towards her hangar. She watches as it stops next to her Ford Explorer.
She notices the man getting out of the SUV. He was a middle-aged man wearing a light jacket, a light color polo shirt, and blue jeans. The young woman who got out of the SUV on the other side was wearing light-colored blouse and dress slacks. She watches as they walk towards the door.
Joe opens the door and walks in. When he enters the hangar, he notices that the person has a military Blackhawk, A smaller helicopter set for transporting important businessmen, and a small cargo transport plane.
“Looks like my cousins were right about this person.” Katlain spotted the planes in the hangar.
Joe looks at them as well. He had to admit that this person had a nice collection of planes. He follows Katlain into the office.
Lori puts her coffee cup down and stands up to greet the young woman and gentleman. A smile appears on her face. “Hello and welcome to Sky High Air Service. My name is Lori Summers, owner and pilot.”
Katlain and Joe look at the middle age young woman. She had short dark brown hair and different-colored eyes. Her left eye was emerald green, and her right eye was brown.
“Hi, I’m Officer Zane, and this is my partner, Officer Young. We want to hire you, if you’re available.”
“I think I can accommodate you. What is the job that you would like to hire me for?” Lori was curious.
She has done jobs for the sheriff's department and the government. Since she was a helicopter pilot in the army, she had an advantage over most people.
“Can we go to your office and talk about it?” Katlain didn’t feel comfortable talking about it in the hangar.
“Sure. Please follow me.” Lori leads the two to her office.
Katlain and Joe follow Lori into her office. Lori grabs a folding chair from the corner and set it up for whomever. Afterwards, she walks around to her chair and sit.
“I’ll take the folding chair.” Katlain sits down on the folding chair and looks at Lori.
Out of the corner of her eye she watches as Joe sits down in the other chair. She turns her attention to Mrs. Summer “I would like to hire you, Mrs. Summer to do a snitch and grab from a militia camp.”
“I thought you said you were police officers?” Lori eyes narrow as she looks at Katlain.
“We are. Were from a special division inside the Augusta Police Department. If you want to verify our credentials, here is the number to our commanding officer.” Katlain hands a clear business card she had made with their commanding officer name and phone number. Not only was
the card clear, but it sent a scan of the person’s fingerprint to her cell phone and he could use it to listen to what the person was saying within distance to the card.
Lori accepts the card and looks at the number. She dials the number and within a few seconds she is able to get the commander. A number appears on the card and she has to read it back.
After verifying Katlain and her partner's identity. She hands the card back to Katlain.
“I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
“It’s something new our department is trying out. As I said, we would like to hire you to fly us over a militia training camp.”
“Mrs. Zane, there are at least three survival training camps in the Washington area. Which one are you speaking about?” Lori knew there were at least three survival training camps from transporting supplies.
“This one.” As Katlain shows aerial footage of the place.
Joe was watching Lori and noticed some of her military photos on the walls of her office. He noticed that she had been a member of the 76th Helicopter Squadron. He knew that the group did rescue missions and special Op’s missions.
“He had been a member of the 21st Special Operations Squadron.”
Lori looked at the aerial of the place and didn’t recognize it. She noticed the GPS coordinates and typed them into her computer. She had a navigation app to give her the distance between her and the area's terrain. Plus, she could access Google Earth Maps to get a picture of the area.
She brings up the images and notices that someone has done a lot of work to conceal the area from the sky. She knew the place had been an old campground in the past. Hell, she went there when she was just a little girl.
Lori turns her attention back to the young woman “why are you so interested in this area and who are you trying to apprehend?”
“A person who is wanted for trying to kill his classmate back in Virginia.” Katlain wasn’t going to go into details.
Lori looks at both people sitting in front of her. This was going to be a tricky snitch and grab. She figures they would try to shoot her down if she hovered to long over the camp.
“How are you planning on going about apprehending this person?”
“Before I answer that question. Are you willing to accept the job?” Katlain had been watching Lori’s reaction.
“Depends on how dangerous it is. My helicopters aren’t armor, or equipped with weapons to fight back. So, I need to know more about this snitch and grab.” Lori didn’t feel like being in another crash.
She barely survived the last one she was in. She still has nightmares about it.
“Fine here’s the plan.” Katlain figures she’ll need to explain everything to Mrs. Summer.
Katlain moves quietly on the perimeter of the training camp. She was using the cover of darkness as covered. She was dressed head to toe like a ninja. She had a small backpack on her back with everything she needed.
Katlain had searched out Shawn Grubbs since meeting with Mrs. Summers. She managed to find a way into the camp without being spotted and searched for Shawn Grubbs. She found him in what was the trainee barracks. At least eight other teenagers were bunking with him. She took pictures of each one and sent their image back to her partner.
She managed to blend in with the others. There were a few times people inside the camp questioned who she was, but thanks to the background she did on everyone. She managed to bluff her way through the questions.
Throughout two days, she got the lay out of the camp and located where the weapon depot was and where the fuel depot was. They were smart not to put the two together or close to each other. Since Katlain couldn’t bring any of her stuff. She had to MacGyver together some makeshift timers to set off the fuel and ammo.
She managed to smuggle several handguns, rifles, and various types of grenades. She hid the rifles nearby, so when things started going off. She can grab them to defend herself.
She quietly makes her way to the barracks and enters quietly. She tosses in two knockout grenades and keeps everyone unconscious. She grabs Shawn and puts the harness on him. That way all Joe has to do is lower the hook and haul his ass up.
She drags his unconscious body to the entrance of the barracks and checks the time. Joe and Mrs. Summers should be close to the by now.
“Where are you guys?” Katlain was getting nervous and hoped they weren’t going to be late.
Joe and Lori were flying low and using the darkness to their advantage. They were getting close to Katlain’s location. Joe looks towards Lori “I’m going to signal her.”
“Alright, things are about to get hairy.” Lori hopes she can get out of this without being shot down.
Joe sends the signal to Katlain. He hopes she managed to get everything ready for the distraction. They were going to need the distraction to cover what they were doing.
Back At Camp:
The guards on duty turn were bored out of their minds. They were patrolling the area and making sure everything that was supposed to be secured, was secured. Just as he was heading back to the main building, he heard the sound of a helicopter. It was getting closer and closer to the camp's location.
Just as he was about to enter the main building, explosives were going off in different areas of the camp. The power starts flickering and going out as the main generators and backup generators are taken off line. Smoke starts to fill the camp.
Katlain dragged Shawn’s unconscious body out and over to where Lori was going to hover. She starts shooting at several people during the chaos. Someone fires towards her but barely misses her.
Lori and Joe saw the chaos Katlain was causing below them. Lori hovers at the agreed spot and joe slides open the side door and lowers the cable and hook. Several gun shots and such can be heard.
Katlain secures the rope and returns fire towards the people shooting towards her and the helicopter. She watches as Shawn is hoisted up towards the helicopter. A person jumps out of the darkness towards her and attacks her.
Katlain slams the butt of her rifle into the guy’s chest. When he doubles over, she chops him on the back of the neck. The gun fire in the area starts increasing. She radios to Lori “get out of here. I’ll meet you later.”
“That wasn’t the plan, Katlain.” Joe’s voice comes over the radio.
“Just get. Theres to much gunfire down here. Don’t worry about me.” Katlain gets communication with Lori and Joe.
Lori hears bullets hit her helicopter. “Joe, I have to leave. They are targeting my helicopter.”
Joe didn’t want to leave his partner, but they got their primary target. The others she will leave the FBI, NSA, and the ATF to round up.
“Alright, go.” Joe closes the sliding side door.
Katlain watches as the helicopter flies off. She runs towards the woods with several men hot on her heels. She could hear dogs barking as well. She presses a remote and blows the ammo dump and fuel depot. The explosion lights up the night, like a bright flare.
She dodges fallen branches and low branches. She feels a sharp pain in her right shoulder and right thigh. The suit she was wearing was bullet proof, but hurt like hell when a bullet hit it.
She and Joe scouted out the perimeter before they put their plan into play. So, she knew where she was heading too. The problem is, that she had a bunch of hunting hounds chasing after her. She needed to take the hounds out, without hurting them.
Katlain jumps up into a tree and takes her backpack off. She reaches inside pulls out a glass ball and tosses it towards the dogs. As soon as the glass ball breaks, the contents inside start filling the area. She was glad her mouth and nose were covered. She felt sorry for the men hunting her down.
She listens to the men as they cough and choke on the chemical reaction from the mixture. As for the dogs, their senses of smell were going to be ruined. Her shoulder and thigh were hurting her where the bullets hit, but she was going to push through the pain.
Katlain watches as the men cough and gag on the chemical cloud. She hated doing what she did to the dogs, but there was no way she could hide from them. She stays where she is hidden and watches everyone. The night vision glasses allowed her to see everyone.
Katlain watches and listens to the guys as they search for her. As long as the night lasted, she was well hidden. When morning came, they would be able to see her better. Plus, there will be more men searching for her as well.
She hopes because of all the damage she did. That the other agencies will be coming out to investigate. She keeps watching a second group as they come out to find her. As for the fires and such back at their camp. She could hear sirens coming towards her location.
Katlain confuses her pursers as she doubles back towards the camp. She knew she needed to get away from the men chasing after her. An idea had struck her as she avoided the men after her.
Katlain knew where their vehicles were parked, and she could easily steal one. Also, she could blow some of them up so they couldn’t chase after her. She runs as fast as she can towards the vehicles, avoiding fallen tree limbs and roots.
Once she arrives where the vehicles are parked, she looks for the most redneck of them and runs towards it. When she gets to it, she hot wires it. She was so thankful she had been a car thief before becoming a police officer.
She puts it into gear and starts driving off. She tosses the rest of the grenades she had at the other vehicles as she passes them. An evil smirk appears on her face as she watches the carnage of the vehicles as they explode.
As Katlain gets further and further away from the camp. She slowly starts to relax. Her right shoulder and leg were still hurting her from where the bullets struck her, but she was thankful she bought a bulletproof body suit. She would have loved one of these when she was stealing cars.
She avoided several of the men still on her trail as she drove right by them. She tosses out her last grenade at them as she speeds by them. In the side view mirror, she watches as it goes off.
Sky High Air Service, Elbert County Airport – EBA, Elbert County, Georgia:
Lori and Joe make it back to the airport without any serious problems. The teenager they had come out to apprehend was lying unconscious on the floor of the helicopter. He didn’t like the fact they left Katlain behind. He knew his partner was resourceful, but she was up against a bunch of white supremacy clowns who were going to kill her for what she did.
Lori was happy they made it back to the airport. She got out and checked the damage done to her helicopter. She was glad it still had some of the lightweight armor protecting it. The areas the bullets had hit weren’t near any of the critical components.
Lori looks at Joe as he emerges from the helicopter. “You and your partner are going to pay for the repairs to my copter.”
“Tell it to my partner when she gets here.” Joe couldn’t let Lori see that he was concerned about Katlain.
“If she survives that mess. It was good that you guys called the feds and informed them about what you did. Otherwise, those clowns from that
camp would be out in force looking for you two.” Lori knew some of the higher-ups were connected to important people.
“I’m glad we did. At least they enjoy taking that group down and putting them in jail.” Joe hefts the unconscious body of Shawn Grubbs and carries him towards the hangar.
Joe sets Shawn down in one of the chairs in Lori’s office. He looks at the young man and notices he was given a crew cut. He also notices a tattoo that lets other white supremacists know he is a member.
“All this trouble for your dumb ass. I hope they throw the book at you, punk.” Joe turns and walks out of the office.
Lori was busy taking pictures of the bullet holes and checking the helicopter. She would make sure these people paid her for the damage done to her helicopter. She turns her head when she hears Joe approaching her from behind.
She could tell he was concerned and worried about his partner. She had to admit, she was too. She hadn’t known Katlain long, but she was a cousin to one of her best-paying employers. She would hate to lose their business if something happened to Katlain.
“I get the feeling your partner is very resourceful. Was she ever military?” Lori wanted to learn more about Katlain.
“Nope, she used to be a crook. She was very good at what she did.” Joe sometimes wonders how Katlain managed to become a police officer with her criminal background.
“It’s hard to believe she used to be a crook. She acts like she had specialized military training.”
“Sometimes, I think she might have. However, I know she is just really good at what she does. I heard once that she stopped a bunch of white
supremacist from ambushing and taking over a bunch of eighteen-wheelers.”
“Why would they do that?” Lori looks at Joe.
“I don’t know, but the details of what she did is classified.” Joe wanted to learn more and was told to stop.
“Sounds suspicious.”
“She never said what they were carrying.” Joe hopes his partner is doing okay.
Several Miles Away:
Katlain went off-roading instead of using the roads leading to the camp. She knew and hoped that the fire department and federal agencies were heading toward the camp. Every time she felt the 4x4 she stole hit a tree root or hole. It would cause the hit she took on her thigh to flare up.
Katlain grits her teeth and wishes she had brought some painkillers. She checks the gas gauge to see how much fuel she has. Most 4x4s weren’t built for MPGs. Once she is a good distance from the camp, she slows down and drives towards the airport.
Katlain covers up her mouth as she yawns. Going in at midnight and using the darkness was a good plan. Now that she was no longer running for her life. She could relax some.
After about an hour or so, she pulls into a truck stop to get fuel and a cup of coffee. She got some looks from the staff and truckers when they noticed how she was dressed. The body suit showed off her curves.
Once again, Katlain was on her way. She sent a text message to Joe informing him she was heading his way and was safe. She knew it wasn’t the plan for her to remain behind, but the helicopter was under fire, and there was no choice.
She stole the jacked-up 4x4. She might keep it and add it to her collection of cars. After all, the truck’s owner wouldn’t need it anymore. She drives towards the airfield and figures she’ll arrive by noon time.
Katlain finally arrives at the airport. She parks the stolen 4x4 in front of the hangar. She hops out and smiles at her partner.
Joe and Lori were surprised when a 4x4 pickup truck stopped in front of the hangar. The two of them stepped outside to see who it was. They watched as Katlain hopped down out of the truck.
“Where did you get that, thing?” Joe looked at the 4x4.
“I took it from the camp.” A smile appears on Katlain’s face.
Lori looks at Katlain “Well, I hope you can cover the cost of the repair to my helicopter.”
“I got you covered. Send me the repair bill and I’ll cover it.” Katlain knew she had the money to cover the repairs.
“I’ll do that. So, what are you guys going to do with sleeping beauty?” Lori looks at Joe and Katlain.
“Take him back to Virginia to stand trial for what he did.” Katlain figures she might as well hire Lori to fly her, Joe, and their prisoner back to Virginia.
“What did he do? If you don’t mind me asking. What did he do?” Lori wonders what a teenage boy could have done to deserve Joe and Katlain coming after him.
“He assaulted a fellow student in his high school and almost killed her.” Katlain read the file on Shawn Grubbs and it reminded her of what happened to her friend Julie when some men from a militia group attacked the Pride event. Her friend Kimiko had died from several bullets hitting her.
“Why?” Lori wanted to know why a teenage boy would do something so stupid.
“My guess would be to impress the group he joined. Lately, there has been a large number of attacks against transgender kids. Both by
Republican govern states and by hate groups. I thought hate groups were bad, but now the government is acting against transgender people.” Katlain would love to take those people and stick a red-hot poker down their throats.
“Hate does seem to be a problem nowadays.” Lori has noticed that there seemed to be an increase in hatred going on.
Joe has been standing quietly nearby listening to Lori and Katlain. He has seen his share of people turning against each other because of what the politicians and conservative groups are doing nowadays. He didn’t like the direction this country was heading.
“Hey Joe, why don’t we hire Lori here to fly us up to Virginia and turn our prep over to the authorities there?”
“We’ll have to get permission, but that does beat driving up there.” Joe figures that it would be safer to fly, instead of driving.
“Do you want to make the call, or should I?” Katlain knew Joe was better at talking to their Captain than she was.
“I’ll make the call.” Joe walks off and dials their Captain.
“Are you sure you can afford the cost?” Lori looks at Katlain when she asks that question.
“I can and I’ll have the department reimburse me for the cost.” Katlain had the money to pay for everything.
Joe comes walking back after a few minutes and looks at Katlain and Lori. “The captain said the department will cover the cost. He said not to spend too long up in Virginia, because he has another case for us.”
“I wonder what it is this time.” Katlain knew they normally handled all the weird and unusual cases.
“I’ll get the Gulfstream ready.”
“Alright.”
“So, what are you going to do with the 4x4?” Joe looks towards Katlain.
“I’m going to keep it. The previous owner won’t need it, where he is going.” Katlian planned on adding it to her collection of cars.
Shawn Grubbs wakes up while they are traveling. He looks at the young woman sitting near him and the male sitting across from him.
“Where am I, and who are you guys?” Shawn was confused. The last thing he remembered was being woken up.
“You’re on a Gulfstream heading back to Virginia for the crimes you committed.” Joe looks at the young man sitting across from him.
“As for who we are, I’m Detective Katlian Zane and the big guy sitting across from you is my partner, Detective Joesph Young. We're with the
Augusta Police Department Special Task Force.” Katlain looks at the young man and wonders how someone so young could go so wrong.
“So, you’re not US Marshals?”
“No, but for the crime you committed, it doesn’t matter. Why would you do something so stupid?” Katlain looks at Shawn.
“He’s a faggot and a pervert.” Shawn didn’t like Max at all. He didn’t like any homosexuals and felt they should all be killed.
“And you’re a bigot and an asshole, but you don’t see me trying to kill you, do you?” Katlain hated people like Shawn and the white supremacy group.
“You wouldn’t dare do it because you’re a cop.” Shawn smirks.
Katlain pulls her gun and moves to shove it in his face. She wasn’t going to be dumb enough to shoot him in a plane. She shoves it right under his nose. “You obviously don’t know who you’re talking to. I don’t have a problem shoving this gun up your nose and pulling the trigger.”
“Katlain, he’s not worth it.” Joe was about to reach forward and pull Katlain off Shawn.
Katlain backs off and puts her gun back in its hidden holster. She moves back to her seat. “You’re right. A bullet is too good for him. Tieing him to the front of my husband’s 18-wheeler would be a better choice.”
Joe leans towards Shawn. “Son, if I was you. I wouldn’t piss her off. She has been known to go to the extreme in getting revenge.”
Katlain hides a smirk on her face. It was true that she has been known for getting back at people who pissed her off. Chuck Robbins learned that lesson when she rewired his car to do the opposite of what it was supposed to do.
Watching him sweating in his car when the doors wouldn’t open was funny. The A/C was blowing hot air and wouldn’t shut down when he tried turning the car off or turning the A/C off. It was good that she didn’t redirect his exhaust system to fill the car.
Shawn looks over towards Detective Zane. He wasn’t sure if what her partner said was true, but they were in the air.
“Don’t think Detective Zane won’t hurt you. She has no problem hurting white supremacy members.”
Shawn sits back in his seat and wonders what will happen to him. He knows his life is over now, so he sits back and waits to see what happens.
Several hours later, when they land, Detective Spade and his female partner meet them at the airport. Katlain walks out first, followed by Shawn Grubbs. Joe is right behind Shawn and threatens him not to try anything funny.
Detective Spade watches as a young woman emerges from the plane. Behind her is the perp he has been looking for. He wonders how she managed to find him.
“I’m Detective Spade, and this is my partner, Detective Susan Cobb.” Spade holds his hand out to Katlain.
“I’m Detective Zane, and the big guy behind Mr. Grubb is my partner, Detective Young. It's nice meeting you, Detective.” Katlain shakes Detective
Spade’s hand.
“You too. You have no idea how happy I am that you brought Mr. Grubb back to Virginia to stand trial for his actions.” Detective Spade looks at Shawn.
“It’s my pleasure to get rid of the trash.” Katlain looks at Shawn with a smile on her face.
“I’m surprised you didn’t let the Marshal service bring him back,” Detective Cobb says, looking at Young and Zane.
“I wanted to see this to the end. I know they have jurisdiction, but I want Mr. Grubb to know if I ever learn he is in Georgia or anywhere near it.
That I’ll bury his ass in a hole so deep that no one will ever find him.” Katlain looks at Shawn when she says that.
“Well, he won’t be escaping our custody. We have a jail cell all picked out for him.”
“Good.” Katlain was glad.
Joe and Katlain watch as Detective Spade and his partner escort Shawn over to their patrol car.
“I hope they throw the book at him.” Katlain looks at Joe when she says that.
“Me too, Partner. Let’s go back home.” Joe was ready to head home.
The two of them board the Gulfstream and prepare to head home.
“I can’t believe you are keeping that supped up 4x4.” Joe couldn’t believe that when they arrived back at the airfield in Georgia. Katlain was taking the 4x4 pickup back to Augusta and adding it to her collection.
“Hey, if the previous owner wasn’t such a dirtbag and a white supremacist, he would still be free and have his precious truck. But he fucked up and must pay the price for his fuckup.” Katlain knew it was wrong to take the truck, but she felt it deserved a better owner.
Besides all the government would do is confiscate the truck and sell it at auction. At least she could give it a home and a better paint job. Besides, there are probably a few mistakes the jackass fucked up putting it together she’ll have to fix on it.
“I thought you were a police officer, Katlain?” Joe was following behind Katlian as they drove home after packing up everything.
“I am, but I’m still a car thief at heart.” A smirk appears on Katlain’s face as she leads the way back home.
She couldn’t wait to see her little girl. Katlain hated it when she had to spend days or sometimes weeks away from her little girl. Luckily, she had friends who loved her little girl as much as she did.
The drive back to Augusta, Georgia was boring. Katlain and Joe spoke back and forth over their cell phones wondering what the next assignment their boss was going to give the two of them. Lately, Georgia has become a hotbed of criminal activity, and a special unit had to be formed to handle it. The other members of their unit were specialists who came from various departments and precincts within Georgia’s police department.
Everyone in the special unit knew her ties to the underworld and what she had done in the past. They also knew she supported the LGBTQ+ community as well. Normally, when there was a problem that arose within that community they put her and her partner on it.
Katlain drops the 4x4 she came home in off at one of her garages to be looked over and repainted. Once that was done, she drove over to Faith’s place and picked up her little girl. She also picks up some roast beef sandwiches from Arby’s on the way home. She had a craving for them.
When Katlain pulled into the driveway at her house, she noticed her husband was home. A smile appears on her face as she carries everything to the house.
“Honey, I’m home!” Katlain looks around but doesn’t spot her husband.
She checked her bedroom to see if he was going to surprise her. She nearly drops Katherine when she spots her husband’s bloody body in the shower lying on the floor. She dials 911 and has them send the police and paramedics to her residence.
Katlain also dials her cousin to see if she can stay with them. She didn’t want to endanger her daughter. She takes a few photos of her husband’s dead body. She doesn’t touch anything or go into the bathroom. From what she could tell just from looking at the crime scene, someone shot her husband through the shower curtain.
There were no bloody footsteps in the bathroom. She looks around the house to see where or how the intruder came into the house. The door from the garage was unlocked and the garage door was down. She checks the back sliding doors and all the windows. The front door had a ring door alarm on it, so that would have caught whoever came in to kill her husband. This was a hit pure and simple.
To be continue…..
