Cerridwen Plays Dotty
Part One: Cerridwen and Daisy

I wanted to punch somebody or something. I wanted to scream and throw a chair and break a window. I wanted to bite somebody. I don't know what was more embarrassing the costume or the fact that my boyfriend had been selected as the one to play my handler. I was just about to let my temper get the best of me when I felt a gentle hand stroke the top of my head.

For a moment I felt my cheeks starting to flush, and I did blush and slowly I turned my eyes to the side. There standing beside me was a tall boy, lean as a bean pole but strong as a horse, his long golden blonde hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail and he wore a fading pair of jeans and a white button down shirt and a pair of sneakers that had seen better days.

“You know this should have been you.” I said, sighing as he kept running his hand through my hair.

“You look adorable in it.” He said blushing a little. “Plus, it's rare to see you blush. I kind of like it when you blush.” He said in a teasing tone of voice. “Who is a good little puppy? Who is a good little puppy? Who a good little puppy?” He repeated as he kept petting my hair.

“I'm going to bite you.” I said as I heaved a sigh. You see, I had volunteered to play Dotty, a popular PBS cartoon character and star of 'The Adventures of Dotty, the Dalmatian Princess'. For those not in the know it was a long running cartoon series about a Dalmatian puppy and her many misadventures. I think the show had been running for about twenty something years and new episodes were still being made. Jesus, twenty years. I was only fifteen going on sixteen. That meant the show had aired four years before I was born.

“If you bite me, I might have to spank you with a rolled up newspaper for being a bad puppy.” Daisy said grinning as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pink leather collar, attached to collar was copper name plate that engraved with the name 'Cerridwen'. I would get to keep the collar and the nameplate after this silly little stunt was over.

“I might like that.” I said, smiling a little.

“I'm sure you would.” He said, sighing as he shook his head as he fitted the collar around my neck. “This is weird though.. I never expected you to volunteer for this. Nor did I expect to get roped into helping with it. This is weird.”

“You're playing Dotty next. There's no way you're going to get out of it. Taylor has volunteered, Madeline has volunteered, Jamie has volunteered, and now I'm volunteering. You're next.” I said as I watched him tighten the collar.

“I'm a guy.” Daisy said with a sigh.

“But you can make a cute girl.” I added with a little grin.

Daisy then went silent and then he started to blush.

“Come on. I know your alter ego. Daisy Isabella Bell.” I said teasing a little. “And I'm sure she would love to come out and play again. And I'm sure she could raise a lot of money.” I added.
“I doubt it.” Daisy said, blushing a little. “And plus, 'Daisy Isabella Bell' was just a random name I came up with on the fly. Nobody would donate if she played Dotty.” Daisy said.

“Oh yes they would.” I said, grinning a little. “Your uncle knows the editor of the 'The Mississippian Episcopal NewsLetter' and can get you an interview with them. According to your uncle there are eighty three Episcopal parishes in Mississippi with a total membership of twenty five thousand. If each member gave just one dollar you would shatter the record held by Jamie, who raised close around three thousand dollars.” I said moving in a little closer.

“I'm going to spank you with a rolled up newspaper.” Daisy said as he started to back away a little.

“That is not counting the donations that would come from other small businesses around town. Oh darling, my little darling, when we get through with you, you will be the toast of the town. I mean with a PR team headed by Lily Potter, the social butterfly of Benton, and chaired by Jamie Potter, Madeline Brewer, and me. We will make sure you get all the donations you deserve.” I said grinning.

Daisy rolled his eyes again.

“I believe your last ghostly encounter has left you a little unhinged.” Daisy said in a flat tone of voice. “Not that I believe a word of it. I don't believe in ghosts.”

It was now my turn to blink and blush.

“I swear I saw the phantom nurse!” Cerridwen said. “And her evil twin!” I added as I marched up to Daisy, Daisy and I are around the same height. So I could look him dead in the eye if I wanted too. Heck I might even be a little taller than he was. Or she depends on his mood.

“Listen!” Daisy said, sighing. “Cerridwen, what I believe you saw was nothing of the hallucination that was brought on by your fever.”

“Oh right! So what about you? When are you going to have your own encounter with the fable nurse? I mean let's look at the record shall we, your mother, Isabella Daisy Bell. Was the first nurse to start writing down reports of 'Nurse Mindy'. Your older sister, Susan Elizabeth Bell had an encounter with her, Madeline encountered her, Jamie encountered her and now your girlfriend has had her own encounter. So, tell me, Mr. Scholar, how do you explain all of our encounters?” I said pointing my finger in his face.

“Simple. Mere hallucinations brought on fever, stress and medication. My sister, Susan for example was suffering from pneumonia when she had her encounter and was running a high grade fever. Jamie likewise was suffering from pneumonia when she had her encounter. Both of their encounters took place at the height of pneumonia season. Late October. Roughly around the same time too around Halloween.” Daisy said, sighing.

“Madeline's encounter is a bit harder to explain. But she had just been moved from the ICU ward. She was still pretty bruised up from the wreck that claimed her mothers life and was wrestling with issues. Issues that I'm not privy too. But I take the stress, the guilt and the painkillers the doctors were pumping into her that caused her to conjure up an hallucination of a phantom nurse.” Daisy added.

“You, you had a touch of Covid. I know you did. A few days before going into the hospital you were complaining about not having any sense of taste, nor smell. And you were running a high grade fever the night your mom drove to Jackson. Again, I'm going to assume that what you saw that night was a hallucination brought on by a mixture of painkillers, antibiotics and your own overactive imagination.” Daisy said, smiling as he leaned over and kissed me on the forehead. “And yes, I love you overactive imagination so that was not an insult.”

I blushed as I felt his lips touch the top of my head.

“I bet Nurse Mindy would love to meet Daisy Isabelle Bell.” I said, smirking a little. “Maybe next time you're in the hospital, you should try to meet up with her, unless you're a chicken!” I said grinning as I stepped away from him and folded my arms across my chest.

“I'm rarely sick enough to go into the hospital.” He said in a flat tone of voice. “Despite being prone to colds. I can normally shake them off. Hell, I think I might have had Covid once or twice.”

“Did you get tested?” I asked.

Just then the door to the dressing room slowly opened and there in the doorway stood Madeline. “Hey! Listen, I hate to break this up. But we have people waiting to see Cerridwen. So go ahead and hook the lease to her and bring her out on stage. And guys, keep your flirting down.”

“Hey Madeline! Can Daisy play Dotty next month?!” I shouted before Daisy had a chance to say anything. Madeline blinked and looked down at her clipboard. She then rolled her shoulders. I could hear her pen making a scratching sound as she wrote something on the piece of paper.

“Done. Next month.. that thirty days from today. Also Cerridwen I think you would be pleased to know that you raised close to around two thousand dollars. So good for you!” She then turned upon her heel and walked out of the room.

“Hey!” Daisy said looking to Madeline who was leaving the room to me. “Don't I get a say in this?” He said as he started to turn his head from Madeline to me, before turning back toward Madeline. “Like don't I have to feel out some papers and stuff? Like a permission form?” He muttered.

“I'll give you a form to fill out when it gets closer to your time. Anyway clip the lead on Cerridwen and get her out on stage NOW chop-chop Mr. Boyfriend! People donated extra to see Cerridwen get gunged by her boyfriend. And that crowd is growing reckless by the moment.” Madeline said as finally left the room.

Daisy blinked and blinked again as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a neon pink leash. Slowly he walked up to me with trembling hands. He clipped the leash to a metal ring that was attached to the collar I was wearing.

“You know. If this was not for a fundraiser. This would be kind of kinky.” I said as I looked down at the collar and the leash that it was attached too. “Weird but kinky.”

Daisy looked like somebody had smashed him across the face with an iron skilled at that very moment. He quickly dropped the leash and took a dozen or so hurried steps back. I could not help myself. I had to giggle a little at his reaction.

“Do you ever think before you speak?” He said as he peered toward. “I mean it? Do you just take a moment to pause and think about what you're going to say before you say it?” He said blushing deeply as he peered toward me.

“You know, my mom says the same thing. She says one day I'm going to put my foot in my mouth. And that one day my mouth is going to write a check that my bottom can't cash.” I said giggling a little as I walked up to Daisy. “But I say, life is too short to worry about a few words. And it's way too short to go around picking around them too.”

Daisy just blinked.

I smiled and then leaned over and then I licked his cheeks. Since I was supposed to be roleplaying as a puppy and puppies showed affection by licking, I decided licking his cheeks was better than kissing them. Not that I would have minded kissing him. We've kissed before and he's a pretty good kisser. Heck he was the first one to french kiss me. And just the memory of that magical night brought goose pimples to my arms.

“Five minutes till show time!” I heard Madeline yell from behind the wooden door. “You two cut the flirting out and get a move on. Or I'm going to get a water hose and blast both of you here to kingdom come!” She threatened.

“Woof!” I responded! “Woof! Woof! Woof!”

Cerridwen Plays Dotty
Part Two: A Performance of a Lifetime

I figured now I should tell you a little about the fund raiser I've volunteered to take part in. You see, each month our town's only no- kill animal shelter and rescue place puts on a little show. The main draw of the show is somebody from our town volunteers to put on a Dotty, the Dalmatian Princess costume. The costume is a dalmatian print dress that comes with a puppy ears headband. A pink collar and a brass nameplate completes the outfit.

Anyway, the person who has volunteered to play Dotty or who has been selected has a photo of them taken and posted on Benton's Animal Rescue Facebook page. A Paypal Donation link is normally posted at the bottom of the photo with a short bio, normally about three paragraphs or a thousand words is included. Anyway the person who volunteers becomes something of a minor celebrity in town.

And of course the goal is to raise as much money as possible. Because the more money the person raises the more cans of cat food the shelter can afford to buy and the more bags of dog food the shelter can afford, and of course more money means the shelter can afford to pay its bills. Now what does the person who has volunteered to play Dotty do? Oh that simple, they are guided on stage, and the person there closes too has them perform a number of tricks.

You know, the classic tricks a person would teach a dog to do, speak, roll over, shake hands, fetch, play dead and I'm sure I've missed some. The crowd gets a real kick out of it. The Creme de la crème of course is the last act. The one people sit through, in the final act the person who has volunteered to play Dotty is led over to a massive wading pool that has been spray painted yellow. The person's name is normally plastered over the front of the pull using punch out letters, they then take a seat, strike a begging pose and have buckets of chili poured over them.

Let that sink in. They have buckets of chili poured over them. Cruel? I'm not sure, degrading? Again I'm not sure. But the crowd loves it. People seem to love it, and  public humiliation seems to be the main draw of the whole thing. And what does the person who volunteers get beside a chili bath? Well they get written up in the paper, they get noticed. Some are even given scholarships. Jamie volunteered and was awarded a five hundred dollar scholarship by Bank of Yazoo, same with Madeline. Bank of Yazoo always seems to reward those who volunteer with a five hundred dollar scholarships. Not a lot you might say? But when you come from the rougher side of the tracks, five hundreds seems like five thousand dollars. Plus mom wants to attend college.

“Daisy?” I said, taking a deep breath as he guided me out onto the stage. The crowd went wild. You see, it not often the person who play's Dotty has such a devoted boyfriend like me.

“Yes love?” He said smiling as he removed the leash from my collar.

“When you play Dotty, I'm going to give you hell.” I said grinning.

“Of course love.” He said, sighing as looked toward the heavens. I'm sure at that moment he was breathing a prayer under his breath. Wondering why the Goddess had deemed it fit to give him such a girl like me.

“I mean it. I'm going to see how much each of your pigtails are worth!” I said I got down on all fours and started to make barking sounds.

“Two dollars and fifteen cents.” He added in a dull tone of voice and he bent down and once more clipped the leash to the collar. And with that he guided me out to the center.
Now most of the time. The show is performed at a school, if the student attends Benton High School then the show is performed in the auditorium of Benton High School if the student attends Benton Academy our town's token private school then it is performed in the auditorium of Benton Academy. But since both schools were not closed due to it being the weekend, the show it was decided would be performed in the auditorium of Benton's newly open convention center. That was the old middle school that had been remodeled and retooled to serve as the town's new convention center.

Because every town needed a convention center and since anime, manga, cosplay, comic, and gaming culture seemed to be blooming in Benton. I bet soon the convention center would be home to its very own anime convention in the near future. Anyway as I was guided across the wooden stage the gathered crowd went wild.

From the collective throats of some three or four hundred people came a bedlam of noises. Loud shouts, whoops, wolf whistles, whistles, clapping, the stomping of feet on the wooden floors. And something akin to the famous Rebel Yell filled the air. I blushed a little and decided to turn around and show the crowd my bottom that had a tail pinned just above my bottom, the tail had been pinned to the back of my dress. Giggling a little I started to wiggle it around, trying to make the tail swish back and forth, back and forth.

The crowd roared with laughter.

Daisy smiled and then decided to get on with the show.

“The first trick.” He said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, yellow tennis ball. “Wil be fetch the tennis ball !” He said as he tossed the ball across the stage.

I just peered at him and blinked and blinked again.

“Can Cerridwen fetch the ball?” He asked as he peered toward me.

“Woof!” I responded as I sat down and pretended to sit like a dog.

“I guess not.” Daisy said, blinking.

The crowd chuckled a little. I think it was refreshing to see Dotty give her handler a hard time.

“Okay since that trick is a bust.” Daisy said, looking around.

“I guess the next one is roll over? Can Cerridwen roll over?” He said as he looked toward the crowd.

Instead of rolling over, I trotted over, picked up the tennis ball in my mouth, trotted back over and dropped the ball at his feet before making another 'Woofing' sound with my mouth.

Daisy looked down at the ball and then back at me.

“I think Cerridwen needs a little more training.” He said as he peered toward me. He then took a deep breath. The crowd no doubt was finding this highly amusing and I was too. Daisy though I'm sure was lost and I'm sure he was hoping I would follow along with the script to the letter. The poor boy had no idea that I had no intentions of following the script to the letter.
Let it be known to all that I'm not the type of girl who follows a script or follows directions. The only time I follow directions is when I'm baking a cake or building a Lego play set. I mean Lord and Jesus have mercy I once tried to brew a love potion.. and I got a little creative with that and it backfired on me. And my mom like any good mother was quick to remind me of that little potion blunder.

“Let's see if Cerridwen can get this next trick right?” Daisy said, holding his hands up in the air.

“Can Cerridwen speak? Come on girl speak?” I smirked a little and decided to roll over on my back and show my tummy to Daisy. I even curved my hands in to mimic a dog wanting her belly rubbed.

“I guess now..” Daisy said, sighing deeply. “I guess we should train her a little more. What do you think folks?”

The crowd only laughed a little. I'm not sure what was going through the heads of those three hundred Janes and Johns  that had gathered to watch this show. I don't think I want to know. But then again they had paid two dollars a head to watch this performance. As amateur as this performance was, I still wanted the people to feel like they got their money’s worth. And before you ask, the two dollar admission fee was suppose to cover the cost of the chili and the clean up that was the grand finale of the show.

“Okay! I guess we need to move onto the other trick, can Cerridwen roll over? Can Cerridwen be a good girl and roll over?” Daisy said in a pleading tone of voice. I guess he wanted me to perform one of the stunts correctly.

I paused and then tried to sit like a dog and then I barked! The barking sound echoed and I smiled a little. Daisy just blinked and then shrugged his shoulders. He then turned toward the crowd and in a tone of mock defeat. Said as he held his arms up and rolled his shoulders from one side to the other.

“Maybe we need to send our Cerridwen back to obedience school.” Daisy said as he gave me a sideways glance that made me blush. “Because she really is acting like a spoiled little brat, don't you agree boys and girls?” He added.

And that's when the crowd roared with laughter and a small smile formed upon my lips, I then 'attacked' him. That is to say I made a growling noise with my mouth and 'bite' at the leg of his pants. Daisy blinked and his arms failed around like a windmill. The crowd roared once more with laughter. I'm sure they thought this was all part of the act.

I kept on 'attacking' that to say I kept making growling sounds and kept gently pulling upon his pants leg as he failed his arms around the stage, windmilling as he traveled from one side to the other, dragging me along for the ride. And  the crowd ate it up, like I knew they would. Finally I let go and then trotted toward the center of the stage, I sat down and then waved toward the crowd with my hand, much like a dog might wave with its paw. At this point I wanted this thing over and done with.

“Okay! It seems our little puppy is getting cranky!” Daisy said with a grin. “I think she needs to be fed and put into her doggy bed! Maybe a nap would make her less cranky!” He said smirking as he reached once more into his pocket and pulled out the leash. He once more clipped the leash to the collar I was wearing and then smirking or was that a smile, he guided me over to the wading pool that had been painted and dressed up to look like a huge dog food bowl.

Blushing, I climbed over the rim of the pool and eased my bottom down upon the stool that was provided. And once more I felt that blush starting to color my cheeks.

“This should be you!” I muttered under my breath as I peered Daisy. “I know love.” Is all he said as he waited for one of the volunteer helpers to roll out the chili. “This totally should be you!” I added.
“In a month's time, love.” He said grinning. I don't think anybody beside Daisy and I were privy to this conversation. The exchange was spoken in low, hushed whispers and accented with snarky and witty banter.

“Baka.” I added as I folded my hands in my lap and then peered toward the crowd as I awaited my fate.

“I love you too.” Was all he said.

“WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!” I said again, I don't know why I said it. But that was the only way I felt I could respond and stay in character. Daisy and I had been seeing each other for only six or so months. Since that fateful day he saved me from the schoolyard bully, well that had been the day the seed had been planted. The seed had sprouted the day I had spotted him alone in the music room on the second or was it third floor of Benton Academy. But since then that tender little shoot had grown and matured and dare I say the tiny little bud  and dare I say was about to bloom into a wonderful little flower?

“Well boys and girls. I think our little princess is growing impatient for her dinner!” He said as he smiled a little.

“I wonder where Madeline could be with it?”

Yes I wondered the same thing. I was ready to get this over with, to go home and sort through these feelings, this had been the first no second time my boyfriend had told me he 'loved me' and that had set my heart aflame!

“WOOF! WOOF! AWOOO!” More doggy sounds to express the building frustration that was clouding my mind. And where was Madeline? I was ready to get the second act over and done with already.

Cerridwen Plays Dotty
Part Three: The Grand Finally

I took a deep breath as I eased my bottom down upon the wooden stool. Daisy, who stood to the  right side of me, just stood there smirking a little as he peered at me. I could tell he was enjoying this way too much. I felt the urge to return to his little smirk with one of my own. But I pushed that thought out of my mind. But then I decided what the hell? You only live once, and besides Daisy needed to know what he was getting into when he volunteered, and it was my turn to play the handler.

“Remember, I'm going to see how much a set of Daisy's pigtails are worth.” I said, making a clipping motion with my fingers as Daisy reached over and picked up the first white bucket. It was a joke of course, I love my boyfriend's long blonde hair and I loved playing with it. I also knew that Daisy cherished his hair like any girl would. And I also knew teasing him or her about clipping her pigtails was a sure fire way to get a  rise out of him or her. Truth be known, I think Daisy was fluid as water when it came to gender.

“I told you love.” Daisy said, smirking a little as he peered toward me. “Two dollars and fifty cents.” He said as he hovered the bottom of the bucket over my head.

My eyes traveled up to the bucket and I then took a deep breath and held it. I then squeezed my eyes shut. A moment later I felt it, a sudden downpour of something thick, chunky, and wet. I shivered as I felt the mess cover my shoulders and coat my hair, I heard the thick chunks plunk down in the bottom of the pool!

Then the smell of the stuff hit me, have you ever smelled a can of chili that had just been opened? It smells rough, let me tell you it smells really rough! I slowly opened my eyes and I noticed that my whole outfit had been covered in a thin layer of brown water. Tiny little cubes of something brown seemed to float around the bottom of the pool in puddles of watery brown gravy.

“First bucket love!” Daisy said, smiling as he set the first gallon bucket down and pushed it to the side. A second or two later a stagehand hidden from view passed him the second bucket. I took another deep breath as I watched him strain to lift the bucket up. Quickly I squeezed my eyes shut again and I braced myself for the second onslaught of chili!

I did not have to wait long, a few seconds later the second landslide of brown gunk seemed to roll down and once more it totally coated the top of my head before moving on to coating my back. I felt a cold shiver run down my spine as I felt large chunks of Goddess only known to roll down the collar of my dress and coat the straps of my bra.

“WOOF!” I bellowed as I stomped my foot hard down on the pool. That was wrong! Oh so wrong! And the coldness, the coldness was beyond measure. Had the stuff been in the fridge? It must have been because it was cold, like ice cold! And the coldness made it worse. And the laughter filling the air made me blush hard.

“Third bucket love!” Daisy said as he handed down the now empty bucket and got a full bucket from one of the stagehands.

“WOOF!” I said, taking a deep breath.

“Oh look boys and girls, it seems that Cerridwen finally learned to speak!” Daisy said as he hovered the third bucket over my head. I felt like I was sitting under the blade of the guillotine as I peered up at the bottom of the bucket. That was a mistake, for a moment later the bucket was upturned and the chili held inside rained down on my head. Coating my up till now clean face!

“I'm going to sell your pigtails for this!” I muttered under my breath, again a big mistake as opening my mouth allowed some of the cold chili to get into my mouth and I was forced to swallow it. Let me tell you, nothing tastes more foul, more gritty, more gut wrenching that cold chili!

“I know love.” Daisy said grinning as he handed the empty bucket to the phantom stand hand and was rewarded with yet another bucket. “Two more to go!” He said grinning as he gave the bucket a little shake, losing the last stubborn chunks of free from the edge of the bucket.

I blinked and blinked again as I raised my fingers up and tried my best to clear away some of the clumps of the chili that had formed on my eyelashes. I must have looked more like a swamp monster instead of a trans girl in a puppy costume.

A few moments later the third bucket was upturned over my head and the chili held inside once more poured over my head, this time it poured down the front of my till now mostly clean costume. I shuttered as I felt a good bit of the chili roll down the front collar. I could feel huge, oddly shaped pieces of mystery meat, beans and reddish brown sauce pouring over the cups of my bra, some of the stuff even found its way into my bra.

At that moment, I thanked the Goddess that the bra I was wearing that day had come from Dollar General and had only cost around five dollars and sixty three cents. It was not one of my good, lacy bras I'd treated myself too when I'd last time been allowed to spend a whole day roaming Metrocenter Mall, our region's largest mall with over a million and a half cubic feet of retail space. I say I'm thankful because I'm sure the brownish sauce had stained the white bra, and not amount of scrubbing, bleaching or washing will ever remove the stains!

“Last bucket love.” Daisy said, smirking a little as he handed the empty bucket to the phantom stagehand who handed him a full bucket in return. I took a deep breath. And then it happened, this one felt like sludge. It looked like sludge, no it looked like mud, but it smelled like chocolate? Now my curiosity is going to get me killed one day. I'm sure of it, it is also a frightful thing. But at that moment I was overpowered by the smell of chocolate. So rolling the dice, I reached up and scooped with my fingers some of the mixture that had just been poured over me.. and shrugging my shoulders I placed those fingers in my mouth and sucked them clean. Okay that sounds lewd, but you get the point.

“Brownie mix?” I said as I shifted my eyes toward Daisy.

“Yep!” Daisy said, blinking. “They ran out of chili.” Daisy said, shrugging his shoulders. “So we decided to use brownie mix. I thought it would be a good change of pace. I mean it was either that or real dog food like they did with Madeline that one time.”

I blinked and then blinked again as I noticed that Daisy was slowly easing the bucket down. A few seconds later I felt the bucket being placed over my head and I heard Daisy giving the bottom a few light tabs.

A few moments later I heard him stepping away. I then slowly lifted the bucket and I noticed he was standing in front of me, his back turned on me, so he could face the gathered audience.

“Ladies and gentleman that concludes this month's fundraiser. I would personally like to thank my lovely, lovely girlfriend Cerridwen Circe Whitethorn, for volunteering to play Dotty this month. And for you guys for donating too! Together we raised over three thousand dollars.” Daisy said with a smile.

And I blushed too, I still blushed at being called his 'Girlfriend' even though it was true. Having Daisy come into my life had been one of the major plus of finally taking the leap and coming out of the egg. For those who do not know, the term 'coming out the egg' means opening up about being transgender. It is one of those niffy pieces of information I picked in my scourging of the internet for useless pieces of information.

“Cerridwen Circe Whitethorn is the daughter of Rowan Cypress Whitethorn and Pandora Circe Whitethorn. Rowan is a shift leader at Yazoo Chemical in neighboring Yazoo City, and Pandora is the owner and head stylist at Pandora's Family Salon. On the newest business to be located in the booming, historical section of downtown Benton.” Daisy added.

Slowly I stood up, and watched as all the chili and brown that had collected in my dress fell into the bottom of the pool. Grinning, I climbed over the edge and started to move toward Daisy. A smirk a mile long crossed my face.

“I would also like to thank Yazoo Chemical, Sweet Magnolia Tea Room and Bakery, Edward's Butcher Shop, The Heather Ford Show, The various sport teams of Benton Academy, The various sport teams of Benton Ag, The congregation of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. The congregation of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, the congregation of Temple Beth El, Potter Mercantile, Brewer Farms, the congregation of Benton United Methodist Church.” Daisy took a deep breath.

At that moment I decided to wrap my arms around him and draw him into a tight hug. “What my lovely boyfriend is saying. We would like to thank all of Benton for coming out and making this fundraiser a success.” I smiled and then kissed him on the cheeks. My kiss caused him to blush and his ears to turn a bright red.

“Daisy here has also agreed to volunteer next month to play Dotty! So I ask all those who so kindly donated, to donate again as we can get him just as messy if not more!”

And with that another misadventure in my daily life comes to a close. I hope you have enjoyed this little tale. Trust me there more to come. Because well, life is a novel. One you write yourself, and you write it one day at a time, sometimes one moment at a time Sometimes you write it one minute at a time. Anyway, I want my life story to be filled with memorable moments. Because life is about the moments that take your breath away. And this day really took my breath away, in more ways than one.
