Hey, jingle bells, jingle bells.
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
Charlie, Parker, and their newest member Ember were singing and dancing around the Christmas tree Larka and Striker had just brought into the house. Striker had an old family Christmas tree stand he had brought down from the attic and placed the tree in it. There was a train set sitting nearby to be set up.
Jerry was sitting nearby, making and repairing Christmas ornaments that had been damaged. Jessie was helping to decorate the tree by sprinkling some of the fairy dust from her wings on the tree. Baloo, Peyton, Riveraka, and Bruce were decorating the inside of the house.
Stacy was helping April with the snacks and other items they baked. She looks over towards her adopted daughter, Ember. She couldn’t believe she was a mother now. Ember had been experimented on using her blood. However, her blood didn’t give Ember her mutant ability. Instead, it turned her into a Dhampir. Ember had to drink blood from her twice a week. She was happy Dr. Green kept a supply of blood at the ranch.
Ember had the same allergies she had to sunlight. She could also see in darkness like her. She was younger than Charlie.
Ember picks up an ornament Jerry had fixed and tries to put it on the tree. She stands on her tiptoes and tries again.
“I got you, sweetie.” Stacy had walked over when she saw Ember trying to put the ornament on the tree.
“Thank you, mommy.” Ember feels her mother pick her up by her tiny waist.
She reaches forward and places the ornament on the tree. After she is placed back on the floor, she grabs another one and is lifted again. Ember liked being held by her new mother.
“It looks like the kids are having fun.” April watches as all three girls decorate the Christmas tree.
“Well, this is the first Christmas for all three of them in their new forms.” Peyton knew Charlie, Parker, and Ember had all been forcefully changed.
“Hey, April, I heard you make the best alcoholic eggnog.” Larka looks over towards April.
“I do, and I’ll be making some for everyone after the kids have gone to bed.” April liked having the children around.
“I want to know where they got a vial of my blood and why they first tried it on a young child.” Stacy was mad when she found out about what the secret government did.
When they found Ember, she was weak and close to death’s door. The lab kept extensive files and videos of the experiments they were conducting. Dr. Greene figured out that Ember needed to drink human blood at least twice a week to survive.
She also learned that the scientist experimenting on Ember had manipulated the genetic properties of Stacy’s blood. They were trying to create a better and stronger mutant. However, something strange happened when they spliced an unknown blood source with Stacy’s.
Stacy watches the girls as they decorate the tree. Even Jessie was enjoying herself. That brought a smile to Stacy’s face because she learned more about Jessie’s background. The poor girl had a good life up until her mother died.
Jessie decorates the top of the tree and glides down to grow to her full size next to Peyton. She was proud of what she did as she looked at the top of the tree. The bottom and middle of the tree were coming along with the girls decorating it.
Parker tosses some tinsel onto the tree. She was having fun throwing the tinsel up on the tree.
“This is fun.” Parker looks over towards Bruce.
Ever since she has been changed, her adult memories have slowly faded away. Now, she had the mentality of a ten-year-old girl. She could still
cause things to appear like she used to, but the more complex it was, the harder it was for her to form it.
Bruce smiles as he watches Parker. He has grown very fond of her and deeply connected to her.
“You girls do seem to be enjoying yourselves.”
Ember and Charlie had tinsel in their hair from where they missed on their toss. The thing was, it was entertaining watching them.
“Riveraka, would you mind giving me a hand in the kitchen, please?” April figures she would start on lunch for everyone.
Riveraka stops what she is doing “sure, how can I help?”
“I could use your help making sandwiches for everyone and salads as well.” April knew certain members of their team were vegans.
“No problem.” Riveraka follows April into the kitchen to start lunch.
Around noon time, lunch was ready. April had several steaks for Larka, cooked the way he liked them. Striker had leftover chili he had made for the contest he had entered. The only people brave enough to eat the chili were Charlie, Larka, and herself.
April was immune to many toxic stuff because of her ability with plants. Charlie and Larka, on the other hand, loved spicy stuff. Dr. Greene couldn’t believe her little mouse daughter loved spicy stuff. Riveraka and Baloo were vegetarians and enjoyed fish as well.
As they sit around the dining room table, Charlie looks at her mother “is Santa going to visit me this year?” Charlie wanted to see Santa.
“He’s going to visit all of you. You kids have been very helpful and good this year.” April has been keeping a close eye on the kids this year.
She knew they all had a hard life, and the adults would make this year’s Christmas the best for them. It would be extra special for Ember because she had never experienced Christmas or other holidays. The research scientist that created her didn’t even celebrate her birthdays.
April and Stacy had gone out of their way for Ember to have a fabulous first birthday party. Ember had invited some of her friends from near the ranch over for a huge party. Larka, Baloo, Bruce, Riveraka, and Striker had been away on a mission. So, it worked out perfectly for everyone.
After lunch, the kids helped put away the storage containers and packages all the Christmas items came in. They change into exercise outfits and follow Larka and Stacy to the gymnasium built on the property to do their daily workout. A second obstacle course had been constructed for the kids to be trained on.
Since Charlie had started on the adult obstacle course, she was allowed to continue training. Larka worked out a physical training routine for the kids and put them through it. He was a strict instructor, but he had a soft spot for the kids and went easy on them at times.
Stacy worked on all the agility, and gymnastics moves with the kids after Larka got done torturing them physically. Since the gym had an indoor pool, she taught the kids how to swim. She gives them an hour to play in the pool at the end of their training.
Later, the kids head inside the house and spend the rest of the afternoon doing whatever they like. Charlie normally helps her mother in the medical unit on the lower levels of the house. Ember learns how to sew from April. She likes to do needlepoint projects that April buys her. Parker spends her time with Bruce.
Stacy doesn’t mind sharing Ember with April. She knew April wished she could have children, but according to the test Dr. Greene did, April could not have children. She suffered from primary ovarian insufficiency. There wasn’t anything Dr. Greene or Peyton could do to reverse the problem. That didn’t mean the rest of the reproductive system didn’t work. She could become pregnant if she had a donated egg fertilized outside and placed inside her uterus.
Larka sits outside watching the enormous slabs of meat he and Striker brought back from the butcher rotate and cook. He had one of his favorite beers in his hand and a cigar in his mouth.
“Larka, you have some bad habits.” Peyton walks out of the house and over to the spare lounge chairs.
“At least I’m out here smoking and drinking instead inside, where April would chew my ass off.” Larka knew April didn’t allow any smoking in the house unless it was in Striker’s office. That was the only exception to the rule.
“Well, she is the house manager and Striker’s long-time girlfriend.” Peyton knew Striker and April had been in a relationship since high school.
The two went to the same elementary school, Jr. High and High school. April’s abilities first manifested themselves when she was thirteen years old. On the other hand, without knowing it, Striker got his abilities from the government.
They performed a different experiment on Larka, turning him into a half-man/half-wolf person. Even Stacy had been experimented on inside her mother’s womb. The only person who hadn’t been was herself, but the government did activate the gene that gave her the ability to heal. Jessie was another mutant, but her abilities surfaced on their own.
“They should go ahead and tie the knot. Those two were meant for each other.” Larka takes a swig from his beer bottle.
“I know.” She and Jessie were in a relationship. It was kind of strange, but it worked.
“Do you think we’ll have any jobs between now and Christmas?” Peyton hopes they don’t.
“Don’t know, darling. Bad guys don’t rest even on holidays.” Larka takes another sip from his beer bottle.
Peyton watches as the meat turns over and over and as Larka finishes one beer off, reaches into his cooler, and grabs another beer. She wonders what her family is going to do this year for Christmas. Her parents died of Covid related complications last year.
What sucked was the fact that she couldn’t heal them. The hospital they were in wouldn’t allow her to see them, even after she showed her government id. It took Striker to restrain her from bragging into the hospital with her weapons drawn.
Striker comes walking towards them from checking on the steers and horses. He spots Peyton sitting outside talking with Larka.
“Toss me a beer, Larka.”
“No problem, boss.” Larka reaches down into his cooler, grabs one, and tosses it to Striker.
Striker catches it and pops it open. He takes a deep swig from it. He looks at Peyton and Larka “bored already, Peyton?”
“Nay just wanted some fresh air, but I wasn’t counting on being polluted by Larka’s stinking cigars.”
“You have no class, Peyton. This here is a genuine Cuban cigar from Cuba.” Larka takes a nice drag on it.
“How do you get a genuine Cuban cigar from Cuba?” Peyton was curious.
“That is the million-dollar question. The problem is, we can’t divulge the name of the agent we use.” Striker knew who it was but didn’t want to give out their identity.
Peyton looks at Striker “you know who it is?”
“Yep.” A playful smile appears on his face.
Peyton shakes her head at his response. She knew Striker kept many secrets and felt sorry for anyone who tried to read his mind. He was a very complex person and could fool any telepath.
Charlie comes walking out of the house. She wanted to see what Larka, Peyton, and Striker were up to. She looked up to Striker and Larka. They were the closest thing she had to a father who cared for her. Her birth father turned her into a mouse person.
Jerry had to fix everything her birth father did to her. He did a half-ass job of changing her. If it wasn’t for Jerry, she might have died.
“Watch you guys doing?” Charlie looked at Striker when she spoke.
“Just talking, munchkin.” Striker smiled at Charlie and was glad she was doing better.
Her birth father messed her up, and it wasn’t easy for Charlie to trust males. The thing now is that she loved being him and Larka. Sometimes she likes to be with Jerry, but she feels more comfortable with him and Larka since he is different.
Charlie hugs Striker, Larka, and Peyton, before she heads back into the house. The three of them were surprised at that.
“I wonder what that was for.” Peyton knew Charlie did a lot of unexpected things.
“Who knows with her.” Larka was caught off guard when she hugged him.
Peyton looks into the house and notices the kids dancing and having fun. She could hear some music coming from inside.
“What are they up to?”
“They are having a dance contest. It was April’s idea.” Larka heard April suggest it to the kids.
Peyton shakes her head as she watches the kids dance. She noticed Jessie was playing DJ. A smile forms on her face.
“Heads up, people!” Larka stands up fast and looks to his right.
Peyton and Striker stand up and look as well. They spot a figure coming towards them from out of the clouds. As the figure gets closer and closer, they can make out that it is a bear person wearing a parachute, and it looks like they are having problems.
“Where’s Baloo?” Striker looks towards Larka.
“He’s in the gym practicing. I saw him walk towards there.” Larka squints his eyes to focus better.
He notices that the figure coming towards their location is a female bear person. She was wearing a body suit that hugged her body. She was able to get control of the parachute and landed roughly finally.
“Ow!” Becky heard her ankle bone crack when she landed.
“That’s got to hurt.” Larka heard the woman’s ankle break.
“Damn it!” As she falls backward onto the ground, landing on her ass.
Becky looked up at the three individuals that were coming toward her. She recognized Striker right from the photos she was given. She also realized the wolfman was coming towards her as well. She didn’t recognize the woman that was with them.
“All right, darling. You have ten seconds to explain before I fill you with lead.” Larka had pulled his Smith and Weston.
“James King sent me to you.” Becky hands over a thumb drive with a silver eagle design on it.
Larka takes it and looks at it. He looks back towards the bear woman “what’s on it?”
“Don’t know. He said to give it to Striker there.” Becky points towards Striker.
Larka hands the thumb drive over to Striker. He wonders what was on it.
“Let’s take this to my office.” Striker was about to walk towards the door.
“Hey, how about my ankle? The pain is killing me.” Becky looks at Striker.
“I got you. Sit down in this chair.” Peyton pulls over one of the lawn chairs for Becky to sit down on.
She kneels before Becky and starts feeling around for the break. She used her ability to scan the bone and tendons to see how bad it was.
While Peyton is working on Becky’s ankle, Larka looks at Becky “so, how did you become like you are?” He was curious.
“Would you believe it started with a wish?” Becky looks at Larka and Striker to measure their reaction.
“What do you mean, it started with a wish?” Striker was curious.
“You’re going to find out anyway, so I’ll explain. Some of my friends and I are into the furry culture. I have always had a thing for the cartoon
character from Disney’s cartoon TaleSpin. I’m pretty good at making realistic costumes, and I made one of Rebecca Cunningham from the comic. My friends and I were at a furry gathering at this old park that used to be part of one of the city’s founding families’ properties. There is this old well located way back on the property hidden deep on the property. Rumor has it that if you can find the well and toss in a pure gold coin. It will grant your deepest wish.
So, my friends and I bought a pure gold coin to see if it was true. We spent most of the day looking for it and were about ready to give up when I found it.”
“Let me guess, you toss the coin into the well, wishing to become the characters you were dressed as?” Larka could see where this was going.
“Actually, yeah. I mean, we enjoy being furries.” Becky was watching the two men. She could feel Peyton still working on her ankle.
“So, how long did it take for you to discover what you did?” Striker was curious.
“The next morning. It seemed that the well granted our wish and knocked us out. We ended up spending the night at the location of the well.
When we woke up, the well had disappeared, and all of us were the characters we were dressed as.”
“So, how many o you were there?” Striker wanted to know how many people he should keep a lookout for.
“There were five of us. Three women and two males. There was me, Carol, and Elizabeth. I was the only male dressed as a female. So, I was
turned into a female. Sam and Jeff were dressed as the male version of their animals.”
“What was everyone turned into?” Larka was curious.
“I was turned into Rebecca Cunningham, except my breasts are slightly bigger than the cartoon version. Carol was turned into a sexy Mink by the name of Fefe and had a French accent. My friend Elizabeth was turned into a sexy female wolf person like you.”
“Hhhmm, I should check her out.” Larka was thinking about finding someone to play with.
“Good luck with that. Her husband was turned into a wolf person but doesn’t look like you. My friend Jeff was turned into a shark person like from the cartoon Street Sharks.”
“I don’t think I have ever heard about that cartoon.” Striker wasn’t a cartoon person.
“So, where are your friends now?” Striker wanted to know what had happened to them.
“With the organization that found us. The one your friend James King runs. He recruited me to work with your group and thought it would be cute to work with a Bearman you have on your team. As for my friends, Fefe is being trained to work with another special operations team out in Montana. As for my friends Elizabeth and her husband, since they were turned into humanoid wolf people and can shape-shift into their four-legged version. Mr. King is training them to track down fugitives.”
“Your friends can shape-shift into real wolves?” Larka was surprised by that statement.
“Yep, they always imagine themselves wolves trapped in human bodies. So, they can switch back and forth.”
“Damn, I can see where that would come in handy.” Larka and Striker could see how that would be useful.
“Whatever happened to the well?” Peyton had been listening to the conversation.
“It moved somewhere else on the property. I think to find it. You really have to want to find it.” Becky couldn’t think of another reason it revealed itself to her and her friends.
“Something to think about.” Striker could see how you find it and that it would come in handy.
“Let’s get you inside, for now, Becky. Your ankle will feel slightly sore, but it is completely healed.”
“Thank you.” Becky gets out of the lounge chair and follows Striker and Peyton inside the house.
Larka stays outside cooking the massive sides of beef. He opens another beer and takes a sip. He looks at the parachute Becky used. He gathers it up and takes it to storage. He’ll repack it later.
As Christmas gets closer, all the kids are on their best behavior in the next few weeks. Striker, Jessie, Stacy, and Peyton have to leave to take care of a problem that springs up in Nevada at the Crystal Palace. According to the briefing they got before they left. It was about two Army specialists that came across some chemicals that turned them into vampiric women.
They were found in the desert and taken to an old western town named Crystal Springs. The woman that found them was called Isa Vulpe. They were taken to her hotel, the Crystal Palace.
When Striker and his crew arrive at the location of the old western town, they are informed that no modern technology will work within the town’s boundary. Also, no motorized vehicle is permitted entry into the town.
“Well, that is unique.” Larka looks towards the old fashion stage coach waiting for them.
“I wonder why they are living like this?” Stacy and Peyton were curious.
Jessie was sitting on Peyton’s shoulder in her small size, holding onto Peyton’s collar. As they rode into town in the old-style stagecoach, they were amazed at how everyone looked. Everyone was dressed in old-style western clothing, and the town looked from the old west.
“Man, I can’t believe this town. Everything here looked like a set from an old western movie.” Larka couldn’t believe how the town looked.
“Man, this is amazing. I could enjoy visiting a place like this.” Stacy liked how it looked.
“Except for your skin condition, Stacy.” Peyton had to remind Stacy of her sun problem.
“Thanks for reminding me, Peyton.” Stacy wishes she didn’t have to cover up all the time.
The stagecoach stops in front of an old-style saloon. Everyone could hear music and laughter coming from inside the place.
“Thanks, Mister.” Stacy looks up at their driver.
“You’re welcome, Miss. By the way, if you’re here to talk with Mrs. Vulpe. You might want to ask her how she deals with the same type of problem that you do, Miss.” Old Ben gives Stacy a wink before leaving.
“What does that mean?” Peyton was curious.
“I don’t know.” Stacy was puzzled.
“Jessie, scout ahead.” Striker looks at Jessie when he speaks.
“On it, boss.” Jessie jumps off Peyton’s shoulder and flies inside the saloon.
Jessie flew inside the saloon and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The place was right out of a western movie. They were gambling going on, a singer up on a stage singing, and everyone was dressed as if they were from the old west.
She lands on one guy’s hat and notices he is playing poker with several other men. It looked like he was beating them from the look of his poker chips. She watches as he bets and flies off. She spots several strangely dressed saloon girls. They had pale skin like Stacy and bright red lipstick. She managed to get closer and spotted that some of them had needle-pointed canines.
She flies back to Striker and grows to her full size. She looks at him “you won’t believe what I just saw.”
“Well, spill the beans, squirt.” Larka looks towards Jessie.
“Some of the saloon girls in there look like they could be vampires. They had needle shape teeth and pale skin like Stacy.”
“Your joking, right?” Stacy looks at Jessie to make sure she isn’t pranking them. She was famous for playing pranks on the team.
“I’m telling the truth. Some saloon girls had teeth like vampires and pale skin like you. They were also wearing bright make-up as well.”
“What is the rest of the place like?” Larka was curious. His sensitive nose was picking up some freshly cooked food.
“Like going back in time. I swear, it’s like the 1800s in there.” Jessie couldn’t believe how old fashion the place looked.
Striker looks at everyone “let’s go inside and find this Isa Vulpe woman.”
“Lead the way, boss.” Larka follows Striker in.
When everyone walked into the saloon, it was as Jessie said. People were eating and playing poker, and a singer or two on stage entertained people. You could tell the saloon girls from the ordinary women visiting the saloon.
“Well, hi there, strangers. Would you like a table?” Betty looks at the people that just walked into the saloon.
One of them looked like something out of a horror movie. The others were average looking. There was one woman among them that hid her face under a hood. She wonders what is wrong with her.
“We’re here to see Isa Vulpe. Do you know where we can find her?” Striker looks at the cheerful curly red hair woman. She was cute and looked average compared to what Jessie said.
“You want to see the boss lady?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Well, come on and follow me, sweetie. I’ll take you to her.” Betty leads them further into the place and over to the bar.
As they walked towards the bar, Larka was watching the people in the room. He was going to be prepared for any trouble that might pop up. He notices Stacy doing the same thing.
Striker looks toward where they are being led and spots a woman with shoulder-length black hair, native American features, dressed in an old black western-style dress. The difference was between how she was dressed and how some of the saloon girls were dressed. Her dress was dark and had lace and ruffles. Also, it seemed more high class than the others.
“Hey, boss lady, I have some people here who would rather enjoy your company more than mine.” Betty looks towards Isa and smiles. She loved teasing her boss.
Striker looks at the woman and notices her pale skin and pitch-black shoulder-length hair. She was dressed as a high-class woman from the 1800s. Her face was painted up reasonably nicely. The makeup she was wearing emphasized the delicate facial features of her face.
Isa looks at Betty “thank you, Betty. You might want to go to table four and see if you can help them.”
“I’m on it, boss.” Betty turns to walk away with a wiggle to her step.
Isa shakes her head as she looks at the strangely dressed people in front of her. Especially the wolf-looking man.
“You must be the team. Mr. King informed me he was sending.” Isa looks at the two men and three women. She noticed one of them had the
same problem as her and several employees.
“Is there someplace we can tell in private?” Striker didn’t think what needed to be discussed would be for where they were.
“Yes, if you’ll follow me, please.” Isa gets off her bar stool and leads the group toward a hidden hallway.
Isa takes them down the hallway to a huge banquet-style room. Once everyone was inside, she shut the door. She turns and looks at everyone “please, have a seat.”
Everyone sits down while Isa stands and watches everyone. Once everyone was seated, she started.
“Recently, while I was out for my midnight ride. I came across two young women that used to be men.”
“What do you mean, used to be men?” Striker had a confused look on his face.
He wasn’t the only one, either. Larka, Peyton, Stacy, and Jessie had the same look on their faces. All of them were just as curious as Striker.
“What I mean is, your young soldiers are the victims of some leftover Pharmacal products that weren’t properly disposed of,” Isa remembered the company that made the stuff.
The chemicals the young men stumbled into were the same chemicals that had been tested on her and several other members of her staff. It was supposed to turn men into women and women into men. The transformation aspect of the drug accomplished that, but it had the side effect of putting the users into a coma for a few weeks. It shocked their body so badly that it made the person appear dead.
“So, you’re saying some they were exposed to some chemicals that turned them into women?”
“Yes, but not just a normal woman. The chemicals turned their skin pale, gave them pure white hair, changed their teeth, and made them appear vampiric.”
“So, they are allergic to sunlight and bright light?” Stacy knew her little girl Ember was allergic to sunlight.
“Yes, they will have to wear sunglasses when they go outside and be covered up either by clothing or a super strong suntan lotion. If they aren’t covered, they will go blind or burn badly.”
“You’re talking like you have experience in this department.” A smirk appears on Larka’s face.
“I do.” Isa looks at the wolfman when she responds.
“How are the young women doing?” Striker was curious about their condition.
“They are doing okay. They will be unconscious for another day or so.” Isa checked on them before coming down to speak with the team she was informed was coming to get them.
“Maybe we should stick around until they are conscious.” Peyton figures it might be best.
“You’re welcome to stay here at the Palace. If you have any Christmas shopping, you still need to do it. You might want to check out some of our local shops. Everything is handcrafted and baked.” Isa hopes these people will stick around.
“We might do that. You wouldn’t happen to have several rooms available, would you.” Striker figures they could spend a few days.
“Yes, I do. Also, I can give you some discount tickets to use around town if you decide to stay for a few days.” Isa looks at the group.
“Then we’ll take the rooms and your discount tickets.”
“All right.”
Isa leads them back out to the saloon and across the street to the Palace. She gets them rooms and several discount coupons for various shops in town. Once they were registered, “if you guys need anything, you can find me at the saloon.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Vulpe.” Stacy liked the young woman.
“Mrs. Vulpe, before you go. Where are the young women?” Peyton wanted to check on them.
“Follow me. They are down at the old sanatorium we just recently restored.” Isa was glad the council voted to restore the old sanatorium. The population has increased in the past six years since she opened this town. They needed a place the sick and wounded could be taken to. They also needed a place where babies could be born and cared for. Like the new police station, the hospital had running water, sewage, internet, and power.
Striker looks at the rest of the team members that came with him. He hands the discount tickets to them “meet back here in three hours.”
“Ah, boss. I’m going to go and see if I can win some money.” Larka was going to go and try out the saloon.
Two Days Later:
After midnight, the team returned to the ranch with the two young women and the stuff they had bought. Isa hadn’t been joking when she said the women needed to be covered up from the sunlight. Specialist Summerfield found that out when she ran out of the sanatorium in the middle of a sunny day.
Her pale skin burned severely, and she was also blinded. Her eyesight was returning. She still suffered from spots in her vision, but it was clearing up. It seemed the chemicals that had affected them also gave them the ability to heal.
They had to drink fresh blood once daily to replenish their blood. They could also drink the blood substitute Isa told them about. Her people weren’t vampires, but they pretended and drank a blood substitute that acted like real blood. She informed them to warm it up first before drinking it.
April had Ember sleeping with her. Parker was snuggled up against Bruce, and Charlie was sleeping with her mother, Dr. Greene, instead of in her bedroom. Larka and the others noticed that April and the kids had been busy baking cookies, cakes, pies, and other items.
“Hey, Striker, April made her famous Rum balls.” Larka could smell the Jamaican rum April liked using.
Larka takes a few from the plate and pops them into his mouth. He could taste the rum in them. He could see himself eating a few of them and getting drunk.
“Well, I’m going to bed. Don’t eat any more of those balls Larka or April will skin you alive.” Striker knew what April would do to Larka. He has known her for a very long time.
When morning comes, the two new women are introduced to April, Baloo, Becky, Bruce, Jerry, and the kids. They are given either a room inside the ranch house or could stay in the second bunkhouse. Baloo and Becky were staying in one bunkhouse with Riveraka.
The girls decide to stay in the second bunkhouse. They were still adjusting to their new bodies. Also, they still had to learn more about their conditions.
The kids put on a show for everyone a few days later. April was directing the Christmas play, and the kids had fun doing it. They were excited about Christmas being a few days away.
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day:
Charlie, Ember, and Parker were excited as they spotted Christmas presents under the tree. Some of them they helped wrap. There were a few presents for them under the tree, but they couldn’t wait for tonight when Santa was supposed to come.
Larka, April, and Stacy kept the kids busy with their daily workouts. They knew no one was going to sleep tonight, especially the kids. Dr. Greene checks on the two women brought back to the ranch. She knew Charlie was excited because this was her first Christmas since she was turned into a humanoid mouse girl.
As for Ember, this was her first Christmas. The people back at the place she was created didn’t celebrate any holidays or birthdays. So, she was looking forward to Christmas. The same could be said about Parker since she was changed into a little girl. She was experiencing Christmas for the very first time. All her old memories of whom she used to be have faded since she was found.
Peyton spots Jessie standing in front of the tree, looking at it intently. She walks over to her and wraps her arms around her “what are you thinking about, sweetie?”
“What Christmas used to be like when my mother was alive. She was just like April and went all out every year.” Jessie wipes some tears away that have been sliding down her cheeks.
Peyton hugs Jessie and holds her afterward. She knew Jessie missed her mother and wished she was still alive. As for her father, the bastard was dead, and her brothers were in jail.
Later in the evening, a huge fest is served. They had to build several more tables to put the food on. The kids had a table to themselves. Jessie was sitting with them. She may be older than them, but she liked being around them.
After dinner, everyone watches Christmas cartoons and movies. Everyone had changed into their pajamas and were enjoying the evening. When the kids fell asleep, they picked them up and tucked them into bed.
All the adults bring out the gifts they had gotten for the kids and set them up in different living room areas. After the other adults go to bed, April stands next to Striker.
“Let’s go to bed and see what Christmas magic we can make.” She grabs his hand and heads towards her bedroom with him.
Greg was on all fours with his new fake breasts swinging back and forth as two huge guys fucked him in his ass and mouth. He was wearing his mother’s crotch-less teddy and a dirty blonde wig that blended in with his hair. He was so stoned out of his mind, that he had no idea what he was doing.
He was kneeling in front of some guy, sucking on his cock in the living room. On the living room table behind him were the remains of the cocaine he found. His father had gone through the roof when he came in and saw what was happening. His father waited till he was done sucking the guy off and left before knocking him out.
When he woke up, he felt strapped down and a weight on his chest. Not only did he have a weight on his chest, but his face felt swollen and sore. His whole body was hurting.
A few hours later, his father’s face came into view. He could only see him through the eye slits of the bandages covering his face. He had no idea where he was or why he was where he was.
“Since you like acting like a whore. You’re going to be turned into one and will be selling your body to pay me back.”
His father disappeared from his view. Tears slid down his cheeks as he wondered why his father was doing this to him. He heard his father leave. Just as his father left he heard, “Make sure no guy can turn him down.”
He blacked out as he felt a needle inserted into his arm. Greg didn’t feel anything as the doctors operated on him turning him into every man's wet dream. The doctor’s cut into his skin and molded him into what their clients would want.
Once Greg came to, he knew he was in a room, but he couldn’t see anything on the ceiling. His body was hurting all over and he couldn’t speak.
For the next several months, he was trained to perform any sexual service a client wanted. When he didn’t perform to the satisfaction of his trainer. He was electrocuted from the shock collar and dildo they made him wear in his vagina.
His father had stopped in a few times to see how his training was coming and how he looked. His father made sure that he saw that he was there. His father took pleasure in shocking him. Later he was taken to a room in the nude where his father was waiting for him. He was angry about what his father had done to him.
A smile appeared on his father’s face when he looked at her. He approved of how his son had been turned into every man’s wet dream.
“Since you liked acting like a whore, I have turned you into one. So, from this day forward that is what your purpose in life will be and believe me you will service a lot of men. To get you started, I brought a few men for you to have fun with.” Greg’s father looked over towards a door.
As it opened, fifty nude men of various build, size and nationality came walking in.
“Have fun, whore.” As Greg’s father left the room to his son’s screams.
Several Hours Later:
Greg slowly came around. Her body and throat were hurting her. She had been slapped, punched, and forced by every man that came in to please them. If she refused to do what they wanted, she got punched or forced, with the other men helping them.
She looked around and noticed she was still in the room she had been brought to. She was covered in the men’s fluids that used her. A couple of men in wetsuits came in and used a fire hose on her. Her body hurt even more as they sprayed her with the hose.
After they finished spraying her down, they took her to a room with no windows and only a bed. As they were leaving, one of the men turned around and looked at her, saying,
“Expect company throughout the night, whore.” As he walked out.
Greg fell to her knees and cried. He just wanted to see what the cocaine felt like and one thing just led to another. She never had sex before with men and wanted to see what it was like. Now she had been turned into a girl and her father was making her service men. She just cried as she sat in the middle of the room.
Henry watched his son on the monitor with an evil smile on his face. He was going to get his money back from the cost of the surgery he had done to turn his son into a beautiful woman. He got a boner every time he looked at her and got top dollar from every man that wanted to fuck her. All he asked was for them not to strike her face. That was her redeeming feature, along with her tits.
“Send in the next group of men.” As he looked towards one of the other men in the room with him.
“Yes, sir.” Charlie felt sick to his stomach with what his employer was doing to these innocent people.
He couldn’t believe his employer turned his own son into a girl and was selling her body to repay him for what he had done to her body. There were at least twelve other cells that had men and some natural women being sold like his employer’s son. All of them had either gotten on his employer bad side or failed to pay him back the money they borrowed from his employer.
The women and girls that they had, were given birth control methods so they didn’t get pregnant until his employer wanted to sell their womb. Then they were made as fertile as possible and impregnated by the doctor and his staff they kept here at the compound.
Jess flew through the vent opening after hitching a ride on one of the personnel that worked at the building. She and her team had been looking for this place after the husband of one of their clients went missing. She flew in the air ducting. She stopped to peek through the vent to see what was going on and where she was.
What she saw shocked her.
There were women here getting raped or being gang-raped by a bunch of men. These women tried to fight back, but when one of them did, she saw them shake as if they had touched a hot electric wire.
She finally found the control room. She noticed, that there are several men in there enjoying what they are watching on their monitors. She did notice that one of the men in there was trying not to watch what was going on.
She managed to sneak into the room and tag him with some dust from her wings. That way, her teammates wouldn’t accidentally kill him or hurt him too badly.
She flew back up and out of the air ducts towards the outside of the building. She flew over towards a tall muscular guy with short white and black hair dressed as Rambo. She resumed her normal height of five foot.
“The information was correct Striker. This is where our client was taken along with eleven others.” A lock of Jessie’s long reddish hair flew loose and fluttered in the wind.
“How many guards did you see?” Striker looked down at their newest scout. It was luck that had delivered her to him. He had found her stealing money from drug dealers.
She would track them down and shock them with her ability to steal their money. The reason she did this, was because she was homeless. She ran away from home and was living on the streets.
“There are eight guards and seven medical personnel. They were in the process of operating on a girl who they were turning into some sort of animal. Her face was like a mouse and her ears had been changed into mouse ears. They were attaching a tail to her.” Jessie couldn’t believe what she saw.
“That complicates things, Striker.” A woman wearing a red cloak looked at Striker.
“Can you help her?” Striker looked at his medic. She had served with him over in Afghanistan in his unit when an IED exploded. The explosion scarred her face and hands. They tried to use plastic surgery to restore her looks, but it couldn’t take away all the scars. They tried an experimental drug on her hoping it would speed up her own natural healing.
Instead, it gave her the ability to heal people, but it didn’t do anything for her own injuries. The components they needed for the drug rare were extremely rare and the doctor who created it had gone missing. No one knows what happened to him and his assistant.
“Not me, but Jerry over there might be able to heal her or change her.” Peyton figured Jerry’s ability to change things might be able to fix any surgery they did to the poor girl.
“I’ll see what I can do for her.” Jerry looked towards Striker and Peyton.
He still couldn’t get over the fact he could change things just by thinking about it. Who knew the radiation coming from the meteorite he found in the wilds of Alaska would affect him like it did? He was working for an oil company as a geologist in Alaska, when he came across the weird meteorite. It wasn’t very big after he dug it up. It was the size of a soccer ball and very dark in nature.
Hunting for meteorites was a hobby of his. Since Alaska had been struck several times and no one ever bothered to hunt for some, he figured, his luck of finding one would increase.
“Are we going to stand here talking all afternoon or are we going to go in there and help people?”
Larka was getting tired of all the talking. He just wanted to go and kill some people. The prick they were after had a list of crimes a mile long and always found a way out of the charges. He wanted to bring justice to his victims and make the prick pay.
His impetuousness and temper have always been a problem, but ever since he left the hospital from an injury he received while serving overseas with Striker. It had gotten worse and he had undergone some changes as well. He no longer looked human but like a cross between a wolf and a human being.
Larka knew the doctors wanted to try an experimental grafting to restore some muscle tissue and tendons that he had lost because of the injuries. He didn't start changing into what he is now, until he left the hospital and rejoined his unit. That was when he discovered that he was stuck looking like a wolfman.
Striker chambered a round in his Fn Scar. He looked towards Jessie. “Lead the way, little firefly.”
Jessie saluted Striker as she shrank and flew ahead of her team. She loved that she could shrink down and fly. She had butterfly style wings, instead of insect style. The veins in her wings lit up when she was flying.
She led them to the front door and took the camera watching it out. Jerry used his ability and turned the door to paper. Larka jumped through first and took the guards out fast. Jess flew past him leading her teammates down the corridor.
Greg was in her room with her mouth filled by a huge black guy. There was another one behind her, pumping into her from behind when the alarms in the place started going off.
The next thing she knew, the doors to her room burst open and a wolf-like creature came charging in. The two men shoved her aside hard and went for their guns, which were laying on the bed beside her. She was knocked unconscious from hitting her head on the side of the bed.

Jessie crawls out of bed, trying not to wake Peyton. Peyton had a rough time sleeping last night. She held her several times throughout the night. She rushes into the bathroom, just as her bladder release.
Once she was done and had cleaned herself, she grabs her Butterfly Kimono robe and covers her nude body. She was so tired last night after they got back from rescuing their client. That she didn’t want to look around for her night clothes. She peeks in on the mouse girl they brought back last night.
She was still sound asleep. Jessie knew because she could feel the girls electrical current the human body produces. She leaves the door popped open, just a little bit so, the girl didn’t feel she was locked in.
She heads down to the kitchen and notices that April was in the kitchen fixing breakfast. Jessie heads into the dining room and spots Dr. Greene, Striker, and Larka sitting at the table drinking coffee and munching on some pastries. She spots the platter filled with a selection of pastries in the middle of the table.
She pours herself a glass of orange juice and grabs a small plate to place what pastries she wanted. She knew Larka and Striker weren’t in their right frame of mind until they had at least two cups of coffee in them.
“Morning Doc. How are the victims we brought back last night?” Jess tears apart a chocolate donut she had grabbed.
“Physically, their bodies are alright except for the tears and lacerations in their vaginal area and in their anal opening. Mentally, they are going to need to see a counselor for a few years to adjust to their new form. According to a person, I spoke to last night. Mr. Beckham turned them into women to collect on the money they owed him. Including the money, it cost to turn them into women.” Doctor Greene found what Mr. Beckham did to his victims vindictive.
No one should ever be forced to sell their body or be forcefully changed to pay the money back. Putting him in jail was too good for him. He should experience what it was like to be forced to do what his victims were forced too.
“What a bastard. He doesn’t deserve to live.” Jessie couldn’t believe Striker was letting him live.
“Don’t worry ladies, he’ll be getting his.” Striker looks at Jessie and Dr. Greene.
“How?” Jess wanted Striker to explain to her how he was going to experience what Beckham did to his victims.
“I had Jerry change him some. After what Dr. Greene told me what he did to his own son. He’s being sent to the roughish prison in California
where the prisoners haven’t seen a woman for a long time.” Striker felt that leaving that one little piece of flesh that makes a person a male alone, would remind him what he did.
“You had Jerry turn him into a girl? He’ll give women a bad name.” Jessie wanted to see how he would feel with 5,000 volts of electricity coursing throughout his body.
“He isn’t 100% a woman Jessie. He is still a male, but has everything else to make him appealing to the men in jail.” Striker takes a sip of his coffee.
“Good, I hope his ass is worn out.” Jessie still hasn’t gotten over what was done to her.
The pictures her step-father took of her, were still circulating on the web. No matter how many times they are removed, they always came back from the pedophiles who collected them. She would love to get her hands on all the pedophiles and burn their pricks off.
April comes out with the food she had been cooking and placed it on the table. Just as she got finished places the food on the table. Jerry and Peyton come walking in. Peyton sits down near Striker, while Jerry sat down near Dr. Greene.
Peyton still looked tired from not sleeping well last night. She pours herself a cup of coffee and drinks it black. She fills her plate up with scrambled cheese eggs, sausage, hash browns, and biscuit.
“Who is looking after the victims we rescued last night?” As Jessie stuffs her mouth with scrambled eggs and hash browns.
“They are going to be transported to a private California clinic. The staff there are going to get in touch with their family members. Anyone who doesn’t have a family will be given the option to stay at the clinic as staff or an apartment and job will be arranged for them.” Striker got an early call from Mr. King.
“Okay, what are we going to do with Mr. Beckham’s son and the young girl we came back with?” Jessie was the curious type of person.
“I think it might be best if the girl stays here with us. I don’t think she will be able to handle how she looks right away. As for Mr. Beckham son, he can call his relatives and see which ones will take him in.” Jerry figures Mr. Beckham son will adjust to his new gender.
Larka looks over towards Jerry “got the hots for the mouse girl, Jerry?”
“No, you of all people should know how people react to strange looks. How many times have you growled at someone for calling you spot or Fido?” Jerry knew Larka has had a few people call him names that pissed him off.
Larka just snarls as he finishes off his breakfast. He looks over towards Jessie “don’t forget you got sword training with me today, Jessie.”
A smile appears on Jessie’s face “you know, my electric discharge happens when I am scared.”
“I’ll wear my rubber gloves and boots.” Larka forgot last time he trained Jess. She zapped him and sent him flying across the room.
“I’ll make a plate for our guest and take it to them.” April had finally sat down at the table with Striker and them.
April could make any type of plant grow from seed to full plant in no time. She was also their house and business manager. Like Jessie, her abilities started manifesting when she turned thirteen years old.
She grew up on a farm and joined the military. That is where she met Striker and Peyton. She was the assistant to General Brooker. When her time was up. Striker recruited her to come and handle the ranch for him. Because of her gift, they saved money on groceries, because she could grow whatever they need.
“Jessie, Jerry you guys have kitchen clean-up.” Striker looks over towards the two of them.
“Striker, I’m just wearing my kimono.” Jessie wasn’t wearing anything else under her house robe.
“Well, go back to your room and put some clothes on.” Striker looks at Jessie as if she was his own daughter.
Everyone finishes up eating. Jessie heads back towards her and Peyton’s bedroom and changes clothes. She pulls on a pair of thong panties, black tights and a long dark blue muscle shirt. She doesn’t wear a bra, because when Jerry turned her into a girl, he didn’t enlarge her breast any. She had breasts, but they were A cups and not very big. She could get away with wearing no bra.
Once she is dress, she leaves her room and heads back to the kitchen to help Jerry. As she passes the room the mouse girl was in, she could hear Dr. Greene coaching the girl to eat some food. Peyton was in the room that Beckham’s son was sleeping in.
Striker and April head towards his office to discuss business. They had money coming in from her growing rare and unique vegetables and fruits. Plus, his, Peyton and Larka’s retirement checks from the military. She handles all the finances of the ranch.
Larka stripped down to a pair of shorts and his combat boots. He starts jogging with a 200 lb backpack strapped to his back. The property Striker owned was enough that Larka could get a good workout.
Jessie looks over towards Jerry “do you ever miss what you use to do?”
Jerry looks back at Jessie “to be honest, nope. I miss living in Alaska, but I don’t miss the environment I use to work in.”
“How about you Jess. Do you miss your old life?” Jerry only knew a little bit about Jessie’s past.
Jessie just looks at Jerry “if you knew my past, you wouldn’t ask that Jerry.”
Jessie dries the last dish and puts it away. She wishes her mother hadn’t died when she did. Maybe her life might have been better.
After they finished up kitchen duty “Jerry, tell Striker and Peyton I have gone flying please.” As Jess shrinks and flies out through the exhaust fan in the kitchen.
“I’ll never get used to that.” Jerry head to see how the mouse girl is doing.
Dr. Greene had taken a plate of food to the Beckham girl and the mouse girl. Peyton was talking with the Beckham girl. It took some convincing to get the mouse girl to eat. Dr. Greene proved to her the food wasn’t drugged or anything.
Charlie had woken up and discovered that he had been turned into a female mouse girl. He felt his tail when it moved when he thought about it. He couldn’t believe that the doctor’s that he had been taken too had managed to make him look so real. He had started crying when his new ears picked up a light knocking sound on the door to the room he was in.
A Native American woman enters her bedroom. She watches as she stands at the door with food on it. She could smell the spices that had been used, the scent of the food and how many people had handled the tray and plate.
Dr. Greene walks slowly into the room so, not to scare their guest. She moves closer to the bed. She noticed that the young mouse girl was watching her “I thought you might like some food. No one has done anything to it.”
Charlie just watches the lady. She had a kind face and a soft voice. She looks into her brown eyes and could see that she really did care about people. She didn’t move when she sat the tray down on her bed.
Dr. Greene sets the tray down on the bed and sits back in the chair she beside the bed. She watches as the mouse girl reaches for the food and takes a small bite.
“The juice is fresh. The cook squeezed it herself.” Dr. Greene knew April squeezed the juice herself for the girl.
Charlie eats some of the food on the plate and didn’t taste anything funny. So, he continues to eat the food.
“I’m Dr. Greene, what is your name?” Dr. Greene is hoping the girl will tell her.
Charlie looks at Dr. Greene “Charlie Fox.”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Charlie. Can you tell me what happened?” Dr. Greene was wondering how Mr. Beckham managed to get Charlie.
Charlie looks at Dr. Greene and wonders if she can be trusted. After a few minutes, she makes up her mind.
“I was sold by my mother to Mr. Beckham. My mother owed money to her drug dealer and she sold me to Mr. Beckham for cash.” Tears leak down from her eyes.
Dr. Greene scoops Charlie onto her lap and holds her against her shoulder. She rubs her back “you’ll never have to worry about anyone doing that to you again, Charlie. I give you my word.”
Charlie just cries against Doctor Greene’s shoulder. She lets everything come out. She didn’t understand why her mother would sell her to a stranger. She cries herself to sleep.
Dr. Greene lays Charlie down and tucks her in. She leaves a spare cell phone she has with her on the nightstand next to the bed. She leaves a little sticky note telling Charlie to call her by pressing the number one. Once Dr. Greene finishes the note. She kisses Charlie’s forehead before she leaves her bedroom.
Jessie was upset about her talk with Jerry. It wasn’t his fault for bringing up the memories of what was done to her and how it still bothered her to this day. She hears a scream from a bird flying over and coming towards her.
“Not today birdie.” As she generates an electrical bubble around her.
The bird hits it and starts falling to the ground. At the last minute, it pulls up and flies off.
“That will teach you to come after me.” As she watches as it flies away from her.
Her butterfly style wings carry her on the air current, as she flies around the perimeter of the property. She loved to just fly and forget about her troubles for a while. She knew she was still wanted for killing her step-father and step-brothers.
Her abilities had manifested on her thirteenth birthday. Her older step-brother had smacked her hard on the ass with a wooden paddle he had found. He always bullied her and called her names, like faggot, shemale, girly boy, and any other name he could think to call her. He was also the first one to make her give him a blow-job.
Her other step-brother liked to sneak up to her and take her with no lube, except his spit. He enjoyed using her like his own little sex toy. It was her step-father’s fault he was like that. He took pictures of him too, but the pictures were always of him taking her. Her father deserved what she did to him.
Her abilities surfaced at the right time. Her father had just kicked her in her groin when she told him she was going to the police and turn his sick ass in. The first kicked had dropped her to the floor and when he went to strike her again. Her ability manifested, and she fried him and her brother with a massive electrical discharge. Not only did it kill her step-brothers and step-father but blew every circuit breaker and fired the wiring in the house. It wasn’t limited to their place. She took down the whole grid from the massive electrical discharged. When the smoke cleared, and the fire department arrived, they found her standing in the middle of the burning house.
That’s when her second gift surfaced. Her fear triggered it when a fireman tried coming towards her. She shrunk down and fled from the scene.
She didn’t know how she did it, but later when she woke-up after passing out. She found herself on the roof of the library at full sized and nude. On top of that, it was raining as well. Luckily, for her, there was a place she could take shelter and just watch as the rain came down.
She was hungry and there wasn’t anyway down that she could find. So, she tried to find out what triggered her abilities. It took her some time, but she found out what triggered them. She decided that she didn’t want to trigger her electrical discharged in the rain. As for her shrinking down and flying, that was a little tricky. Her wings didn’t like the rain so much and it made it hard for her to glide down with soggy wings.
She was also nude as a newborn baby. She found some clothes in the donation box that fit her and once she was dressed. She managed to break into a house for sale. That’s where she started to learn how to use her abilities.
Once she got the hang of her abilities, she started tracking down drug dealers and gamblers. She used her abilities to steal their money to live on. She had to kill the leader of one gang. He murdered a woman all because she wouldn’t put his insurance money. So, she showed what she could do and fired him right where he stood. As for his soldiers, she left them a message, saying if they wanted revenge for her killing their leader, that they would regret it.
She blew the old leaders pimped car up. Afterward, she flew off and went back to the house she managed to buy with the stolen money. The place she bought, was in Wilmington, Delaware and was worth a lot of money. She was hitting drug dealers all over Delaware and in Washington D.C. as well. There were a few senators and congressmen she would have loved to fire with her electrical abilities.
Striker tracked her down and offered her a place on his team. She was surprised he could find her. She had changed her identity and had a false birth certificate.
Jessie spots Larka running with a full backpack on his back. She knew he once looked human. She had seen his military Identity card. Now, he looked like a cross between a human and a wolf. At least the mouse girl will have someone to relate too. Peyton just had scars that she was ashamed about. She could have been a model after she got out of the service. Instead, she got disfigured from an IDE exploding near the hummer she had been riding in.
That was why she and Peyton slept together. Peyton was her safety blanket, just like she was Peyton’s safety blanket. Jessie spots a place she could land and just relax before she had to show up for her sword training.
Striker wanted everyone familiar in using all sorts of weapons. Everything from custom-made blades to guns and rifles. She didn’t like guns, but she would follow his rules. She just watches the clouds as they pass overhead, before heading back towards the house. She figures Larka would be on his way back to the house.
She flies back as fast as her butterfly style wings would allow her. When she grows to normal size, her wings merge with her back and look like a tattoo on her back. It struck her as odd when she noticed it. If she wanted her wings at full size, she had to shrink at least a foot, until she was 4’ft. tall. She could fly, but it took more energy for her to fly at that size.
She makes it back to the house a few minutes before Larka does. She grows to her full five-foot-tall size.
“Took you long enough, fuzz face.” Jessie knew Larka didn’t mind her teasing him.
Larka looks at Jessie and could tell she had been flying. Her hair was a mess.
He just looks at her with an evil smile on his face “keep flapping your lip, runt. I promise by the time you finish practice today, you will regret it.”
“Not if I shock you, first.” She makes energy crackle between her two fingers.
“Give me a few minutes before we start.” Larka heads into the kitchen and pulls out a bottle of cold water.
“No problem.” Jess follows behind him and grabs an apple out of the fruit bowl, that April keeps out and full for everyone.
She takes her pocket knife out and starts cutting into her apple. She munches on pieces of her apple, while Larka drinks his water. By the time
she finishes her apple, Larka was done with his water.
“Come on runt. Let’s get you trained properly in how to handle a knife and sword.” Larka leads the way to the training room.
For the next two hours, Larka pushes Jessie. He could have killed her several times over, but he just smacks Jessie with the flat of the blade. He did get zapped several times by accident. Jessie was still learning control of her electrical abilities. Her electrical control as linked to her emotions. The madder or scarier she got, the stronger her electrical discharge was.
Peyton once told her that she had an organ in her body that produce her electrical energy. It was like how an electric eel produces its charge. She comes out of the training room limping and black and blue.
“You need to spend more time practicing Jessie, instead of relying on your abilities.” Larka didn’t believe in taking it easy on Jessie. She has already proven she is willing to do what it takes to get a job done.
“Yea, yea. I hope you get fleas.” Jessie heads towards the hot tub to relax.
Jerry passes Jessie as she heads towards the hot tub. He spots Larka munching on some left-over bacon from breakfast.
“I take it, you didn’t pull your punches with her?” Jerry fixes himself a cup of coffee.
“Nope, I wouldn’t do that to her. She’s not some sort of wallflower. I would take her into combat with me.” Larka grabs a beer and down it.
Jerry watches as Larka downs two beers before his coffee is ready. Once his coffee is ready. He adds some sugar and a little Irish whiskey to it.
“Jerry why do you, add Irish whiskey and sugar to your coffee. When you can will it that way?” Larka wonders what Jerry didn’t use his abilities.
“Because it doesn’t call for it. I could use my abilities to change my coffee, but why do it that way? When I can do it normally?” Jerry sips his coffee.
“How’s the young girl doing?” Larka was curious about her.
“Dr. Greene is going to adopt her. She’s asleep right now. I think you might be able to help her adjust since the two of you have gone through a metamorphose.” Jerry had to do what he did to make her whole. If he had known what she looked like before. He could have restored her back to her normal self.
“I’ll think about it.” Larka still has a hard time accepting the way he looked.
He wanted to get his hand on the doctor that gave him the shot that turned him into what he was. Larka wanted to know what the doctor used
that would cause a person to change. He knew Striker was given a different type of shot, just like Peyton had been given a different one.
Peyton looks up when Jessie comes walking into their bedroom. She noticed that Jessie was black and blue.
“Do you want me to heal you, Jess?” Peyton puts aside the medical article she was reading.
“No, I’m fine. I’m going to go and soak for a while in the hot tub.” Jessie peels out of her clothes and grabs her bikini bottom and top to cover
her mosquitos’ bites.
Peyton just watches her. She loved the way Jessie's butterfly wings covered her back.
“I should have had Jerry make my breast bigger.” As she looks towards Peyton’s breasts.
“Guys don’t always look at your breasts, Jessie and sometimes it’s bothersome having to wear a bra all the time.” Peyton was jealous Jessie could go without one.
Peyton wonders if Jessie could wear a bra with the way her butterfly wings took up most of her back. It would have to be one that wrapped around Jessie's waist and neck. The bands from the bra would restrict her wings from separating from her back.
Peyton watches as Jessie leaves and head towards the hot tub in her bikini. She figures she’ll go and join Jessie. So, she changes into her bikini. She looks at herself in the mirror where the explosion had scarred and burned half her body. She leaves the bedroom and heads towards the hot tub.
She spots Jessie in the tub with her eyes closed. She slides in and tries not to disturb her. She leans back and enjoys the hot water as well. It’s been a while since she has just relaxed and not care about what people thought about her scars.
Stacy watches as the person she has been tracking walks out of his house and towards his car. She checks her watch and as the person drives off. She gets out of her car and makes her way over towards the house, sticking to the shadows for cover. She’s been tracking this person for the last several weeks.
Stacy concentrates and walks through the wall and appear on the other side of the locked door. She was still getting used to her new-found abilities. She searches throughout the house and stops when she comes to his office. The door was locked, she pulls her lockpicking tools out and manages to unlock the door and walk in.
Stacy spots his computer and sits down at his desk. It wanted a password to access it. She pulls out a small thumb drive and places it in the front USB slot on the computer. Stacy strikes a few keys on the keyboard and watches as the software on her thumb drive breaks the password. She pulls out another thumb drive and starts recording every file he has his computer.
While the files are transferring to the secondary thumb drive. She searches the room and finds his safe. Stacy pulls a few items out and manages to open the safe. Inside she finds several folders and a lot of money. There was also a package of a red-looking dust and a couple of vials of pinkish color liquid with some new needles stored inside. Along with the drugs, was a large collection of cash as well. She takes all of it and stores it in the backpack she had on.
Stacy closes the safe and walks back over to the computer. It had finished copying all the files on the hard drive, including any hidden files.
She cleans up her access and removes the thumb drives. She makes sure the computer is reset back to how she found it.
Stacy walks through the wall and appears outside the house. Luckily, she was still in the shadows when she appeared. She makes her way back to her car, using the shadows for cover. Once she arrives at her car, she heads back to where she was staying.
Stacy removes her hood, so as not to draw attention to herself. It was bad enough, that she had been born extremely pale with silver-white hair. Her skin was sensitive to light and would burn, if she wasn’t covered up. She also had an unusual eye color as well. She had bright violet eyes.
The doctors didn’t know why she had been born like she was. She was teased and picked on at school about her pale feminine looks. She didn’t get her abilities until recently. She had fallen through her bedroom wall when she tripped on a pair of her shoes.
She found herself outside in the rain in her underwear. She couldn’t figure out how she managed to fall through the wall. She managed to get back inside the house before her parents found out. It took her two weeks to learn how to use her abilities.
During that time, the person she had been tracking had paid her parents a visit several times. She didn’t know why he was visiting them, but the last time he came. There had been a big argument between her father and him.
A couple days later, while they were returning from the movies. A box truck had run a stoplight and plowed right into her parent’s car. Her abilities had saved her, but her parents had been killed by the impact. She thought she saw the man in the crowd watching what happened.
A few days later some men tried to kidnap her on her way home from school, but her abilities allowed her to escape. She set a trap for them and they took the bite. She saved two people to questioned to find out why they were after her.
The two people she saved to questioned didn’t know, all they knew they were to bring her in. She did find out who sent them. She wanted to know more about him.
She heads towards the mobile home she was living out of. No one knew where she was, and she changed locations every three days.
She pulls her car inside an abandoned car dealership garage she and a few friends use to hang out. The mobile home was hidden in the next bay over. Stacy gets out of her car and head inside her mobile home. She checks the security tapes to make sure no one has been around.
Stacy kept the original cameras and worked on them at night. She also got her hands on a few motion detectors set around the dealership. She walks into her mobile home and takes her cloak off. She removes her web belt and lay that on the table. She removes the skin-tight body suit she has on and her combat shoes.
Stacy grabs an oversized t-shirt to wear. She goes over to her laptop and looks at the files. Some of them she understood, while others she had no idea. She picks the vials up she took and wonder what they did. Why did he have them in the safe?
Stacy grabs a soda out of the refrigerator and drinks it. She continues to read through the files and emails. One email catches her interest. It was about a group of people. She looks at the pictures that were included. They showed pictures of several different people.
There was one of a half-wolf/half-man. Another one was of a young teenage girl, there was one of a lady with scars and finally one of a guy that looks like he was an outdoors person. There was one more that showed a tall muscular guy that had salt and pepper marine style haircut.
There was a dossier on each person in the file. All of them had medical records attached to their files. The name of the group was called The Black Watchmen. They were under the supervision of the Head of the Marshal of the United States Supreme Court. The leader of the group was a former Master Sergeant in the Marines. The files she had in her hand came from a department called Nightwatch.
According to what she finds on them. They are connected to the Department of Homeland Security. Their purpose is to track and record all supernatural creatures. If they deem the creature to be a danger to the public, they are to take them out.
She finds her file among the files she stolen. According to her file, her mother had been given a serum that came from a supernatural creature to breed a person with supernatural gifts. According to the doctor notes her genetic breakdown showed she had xxy. She was meant to be female, so they could breed her, but she had been born male with feminine features. As she continued to read the doctors notes, he makes a reference to the fact that she might be intersex, since her penis was extremely small, and her testicles haven’t dropped.
She reads the rest of his notes about her being sensitive to sunlight, the lack of pigmentation which causes her pale skin. As for her eyes, she hasn’t told anyone that she sees better at night, then she does during the day. If she isn’t wearing her cloak, she would need to wear a pair of sunglasses during the brightest hours of the day.
She continues to look through her notes, to see if she could locate where this group was located. So far, she hasn’t found it yet. As she continues to read through the paperwork, she spots a paragraph saying that Nightwatch suspects that The Black Watchmen might be operating out of Muldoon, Texas.
“Looks like I have a road trip ahead of me.” She closes the files and put them away in her hidden safe.
She checks the time and decides that she’ll leave in the middle of the night. She makes arrangement to secure the dealership building. She bought the building under a person she knew, that wouldn’t mind. She paid all the utilities and property tax on it. She even has a business license for the dealership.
Around midnight, she pulls out in her motorhome. She paid for it with the money left over from selling the house and from the insurance money. She left a couple of thousand in the bank under her name, which she knew was more than likely being watched. At another bank, she opened an account under her assumed name. She broke into social security and stole someone's Identity that was in a nursing home.
Charlie was nervous when she first left the safety of her bedroom. Dr. Greene managed to coach her out and walked her around the house. She gave her a tour of the house and took her outside and showed her the grounds, the vegetable garden, the fish pond, the pool, and hot tub.
She was told that she had free roam of the house and grounds. She also met April the housekeeper and ranch manager.
She was afraid of Larka, because of his looks. However, she came to accept him. Charlie liked Jessie, because how friendly she was and was willing to play with her. She especially liked it when Jessie shrunk and played dress up with her. She liked Jessie’s butterfly wings when she was small.
Dr. Greene would spend time with her when she didn’t have to be at the hospital. Charlie had been nervous the first time she left the ranch and went with Dr. Greene to the free clinic she worked at. She noticed that some people stared at her, because of her looks. However, they were nice to her.
Dr. Greene took her shopping and bought her all new clothes, shoes, toys, computer games, and whatever game system she wanted. As for schooling, Dr. Greene thought Charlie would feel more comfortable at home being schooled. April volunteered to teach Charlie. They were going to use the library as the classroom.
Jessie liked Charlie and tried to spend as much time with her. She wanted the poor girl to know that she had friends here at the ranch. When she wasn’t spending time with Charlie, she had chores around the ranch to do. She might be the youngest on Striker’s team, but that didn’t excuse her from helping around the ranch. The ranch was still a working ranch and there were things that needed to be done. Plus, she didn’t have any money coming in if she wanted something.
While she is doing her chores, she spots Jerry out on the property kneeling and looking at something. She wonders what he found. She finishes what she was doing and fly out to him.
“What did you find?” She saw him pick something up off the ground.
“An Indian spearhead.” Jerry picked it up and examine it.
He notices how they chipped away to form it. Jerry loved collecting old Native American items.
“I wonder why Striker never spotted it?” Jessie kneels next to Jerry.
“It’s not like he was always home or looking for it. When I am walking I glance down at the ground to make sure I don’t step on a snake or
hole.” Jerry turns the spearhead around in his hand.
“How old do you think it is?” Jessie was curious.
“Well, from the design of the spearhead. I would say at least two hundred years old.” Jerry studied Native American history.
He had a pretty good idea about how old items he found were and what culture might have made it. He stands up and pockets the item in his pocket.
“What do you think of Charlie?” As Jessie stands up and walks with Jerry.
“She’s a cute kid and Dr. Greene will make a good mother to her.” Jerry felt bad that he had to make the change to Charlie permanent. But what the doctor did to her originally, would have made her more of a freak.
“How is Peyton doing?” Jerry knew Peyton had nightmares from her trauma.
“She’s doing better. I know how she feels about what was done.” Jessie knew that her own nightmares will never stop.
Jerry wraps his arm around Jessie’s shoulder “you’ll be okay, Jessie.”
“If you say so.” Jessie just walks with Jerry’s arm around her shoulders.
Obstacle Course:
Larka stood at the starting line with Striker. Peyton was going to keep time as the two of them got ready to tackle the new obstacle course. Their obstacle course was a combination of things gathered from several different game shows and military training.
“On your mark, get set, GO!” as Peyton fires the starting gun.
Larka took off fast and headed towards the first obstacle which was tires that they had to go through. Larka glances towards his side and spotted Striker keeping up with him. He pours on a little more speed and gets ready for the next obstacle, which was a huge mud pit with ropes hanging in the middle. You had to jump the distance and grab the rope and swing towards the other side, without falling into the mud.
Larka jumps and manages to grab the rope he was aiming for. He swings to the other side and lands. He had managed to pull ahead of Striker.
“Come on old man. You’re going to lose against me.” Larka runs towards the next obstacle.
Striker just grins as he maintains his pace. He was pacing himself until they got near the end of the course. As they ran the course, it became harder and harder. They had weapons set-up with motion detectors to fire rubber bullets at them.
Striker beats Larka because he made a mistake on one of the obstacles and slowed him down. Peyton looked at both men with a smile on
her face.
“Well Larka, you were three minutes and twenty-two seconds behind Striker. If you hadn’t failed on obstacle number twelve, you might have stood a chance on beating Striker.” Peyton hands a towel to each man.
“Who won?” Jessie and Jerry come walking over to them.
“Striker did.” Peyton knew her, and Jerry was due to run the course.
“How bad did Larka get beat?” Jessie was curious.
“By three minutes and twenty-two seconds.” Peyton double checks his time.
“That’s not bad.” Jessie knew Larka was fast.
Jerry walks over to the obstacle controls and turns the gun range portion off. He had suggested it in the new design they came up with.
“Which obstacle did you have a problem with Larka?” Jerry helped in designing it.
“Number twelve, I slipped on the beam.” Larka foot slipped on the beam.
“Do you think we need to correct it or add anything to it?” Jerry looks at Striker and Larka for an answer.
“Nope, leave them like they are.” Striker figures it worked like it was supposed to.
“Hey, you won. Shouldn’t Larka decide?” Jessie looks at Striker.
A smile appears on Strikers face “I’m also the team leader young lady. Which means I have final say over it.”
Jessie rolls her eyes. She knew he was right, but still, Larka should have some say in it.
“He’s right Jess. It should stay like it is. It gives me a reason to improve my performance. Which brings me to your training. Striker and I have
talked about it and we want you to try the course without using your gifts.” Larka knew it would do her some good.
“Hey, that’s not fair. My gift allows me to fly.” Jessie hated not being able to use her powers.
“So, what are going to do, if one of your wings gets cut off or it’s raining outside, and you can’t fly?” Larka looks at Jessie like a teacher looks at a pupil of theirs.
“I can still shrink. I can use that to escape.”
“Until you are captured and placed inside a jar.” Peyton had to remind Jessie the one time she had been captured.
“Fine, when do you want me to go through the course.” Jessie wasn’t happy about
“This weekend. We’ll get you familiar with the course first and let you get used to it before we start getting serious.” Larka didn’t like rushing people through the course.
He and Striker have worked out a plan for Jessie. She was the only one, besides Jerry who didn’t have any formal training at all. They wanted to train her to be more effective in combat.
Stacy:
Stacy was taking her time heading towards Muldoon, Texas. It was a twenty-four-hour drive. She leaves around midnight from Westminster, Maryland and drives till she gets tired. She pulls into a rest stop in Cookeville, Tennessee and sleeps till midnight. When she wakes up, she freshens up and fixes herself something to eat.
Stacy pulls the file out and goes through it again, seeing if there were any clues as for where in Muldoon, Texas they were living. She doesn’t find anything, which means she’ll have to track them down. Once she was ready to start driving. She locates an RV park where she can park her RV.
Stacy takes a day setting up and doing some research. She’s hoping that someone in town or around might have seen the people she is looking for.
Stacy’s patience finally paid off. She knew sooner or later one of Stalker’s team would have to come into town. She spotted the youngest of their team. She was out shopping with their paramedic, the one known as Peyton.
She managed to slip a GPS tracker on them and tracked them back to a ranch. She knew she wouldn’t be able to enter the ranch. The place had a security gate that you had to enter a code and she spotted several cameras as well.
Stacy watches as Peyton and the one known as Jessie enters and drive down the long driveway. She sits on her motorcycle and thinks about the best way to approach Stalker. She could try sneaking in and it might work, or she could be upfront about her intentions.
Stacy decides that being up front to stalker and his team that it might be the best route to take. She starts her motorcycle up and drives over towards the gate. She presses the call button and waits for someone to answer.
Ranch House:
Larka was walking towards the kitchen when he heard the buzzer for the gate buzz. He walks over to the monitor to see who was at the gate. All he could see was a person wearing a tight black suit that covered their body riding a custom motorcycle. He notices that the person was a woman from the way the suit covered their chest. The person had on a black motorcycle helmet.
“What can I do for you, ma’am?” Larka wonders who she was.
“It’s not what you can do for me, but what I can do for you.” Stacy hopes whoever it was will let her in.
“What do you mean, what you can do for me? Who are you?” Larka was curious about this woman.
“Look, its better if I talk to whoever you are. I think Striker will want to know this information.” Stacy glances at the camera. She still had her visor down, to filter the sunlight. She wonders who she was talking too.
Larka looks at the image of the woman on the monitor. His watches her and switches to another camera that was hidden that gave him a different view of the driveway and road. He didn’t see any other cars or people waiting for him to open the gate.
Stacy watches as the gate opens
“Follow, the driveway till you come to the end. Someone will meet you when you arrive.”
Stacy drives down the driveway. She follows the smooth driveway up towards the main house. Standing outside waiting for her, was a humanoid wolf looking person and a big muscular guy dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans. His hair was cut military style.
She pulls up to the house and parks her motorcycle. She turns the engine off and dismounts from the motorcycle. She leaves her helmet on but raises the visor. There was enough shade to block some of the suns, so she could see.
Stalker and Larka watch as a woman wearing a skin-tight black leather outfit pulls up to the house and parks. Her black boots came up mid-calf. They could tell the leather body suit that covered her body was tight. It showed every curve of her body. They notice there was a zipper in the lower part of her back.
As she walks towards them, they notice as she lifts the visor on her helmet. They could only see her bright violet eyes. Once she was out of the sunlight. They watch as she removes her helmet.
Standing before them was a cute pale woman with silver-white hair. Her hair came half-way down her back.
“Hi, I’m Stacy and we need to talk Mr. Striker and I presume that you are Mr. Larka.” Stacy looks at Larka.
“Do I know you, Mrs. Stacy?” Striker wonders who this silver-white hair woman was and why they needed to talk.
“No, we have never met, but I think what I have learned about you and your team will interest you. The abilities you have weren’t by accident. Just like mine weren’t.” Stacy just looks at the two men standing before her. She wonders where the rest of the team were.
“What proof do you have to back-up what you are saying?” Larka couldn’t smell anything from her.
The skintight leather suit she was wearing covered her whole body. Her hands were covered in gloves that fitted her hand like rubber gloves.
The only smell he was getting was the smell of the leather.
Stacy removes the thumb drive tuck down into the suit from around her neck. She holds it up “everything you need to know, is on this drive.”
“Alright, let’s see what you got. Please follow me.” Striker escorts Stacy into the house.
Stacy glances at the place as she walks inside with Striker in front of her and Larka behind her. The house itself seemed to be of an older design. She was no expert on the architect, but the home seemed like it has been around for ages. It had a rustic feel to it.
She is lead to an office that had a huge man-made Mahogany desk with a huge dark leather high back chair behind it. There were two dark leather chairs in front of the desk. She noticed that he had an all in one desktop on his desk. Judging from the make of it, it was an HP computer.
Striker sits down in his chair and watches as the woman sits down in the right-hand leather chair, while Larka stood nearby. Both men were watching the young woman. She looked to be in her late teens/ the early twenties. The skin on her face was pale white and she had bright violet eyes.
“Now, what don’t you explain from the being on why you are here and how you managed to track me and my group down?” Striker had to hand it to her.
Stacy takes a deep breath before she begins “I’ve been tracking a gentleman that has been trying to recruit me since my abilities first manifest themselves. He has been in the background of everything that has happened to me so far.”
“How does that have any bearing on what you found out about me and my people?” Striker wanted to know how her story or life had anything to do with his group.
“Let’s just say I was an engineer, just like you and your people.” Stacy found the information interesting, to say the least.
“What’s so special about you?” Larka was wondering what made her so special.
“Let’s just say I can get into any locked room without any tools.” Stacy had a smile on her youthful looking face.
“How?” Larka was curious now.
Stacy stands up and concentrate on her ability and walk right through his body. She exists behind him and turns around to face him and Striker.
“Like that.” There was a playful smile on her face.
Larka had felt a tingling sensation when she went through his body. It felt weird and creepy as he watched and felt her pass through his body.
“You can pass through an objects?” Larka was curious.
“Yes, so far there isn’t any material I can’t pass through.” Stacy has tested her abilities against a few items.
“How about other items. Can you make other objects pass through other materials like yourself?” Striker was curious about how her ability worked.
“I have to be carrying it. If I let, go of the object while I am passing through say a wall or something. It becomes part of the wall.” Stacy picks a pencil up off Strikers desk and passes it through and then let go of it. It stays right where it is.
Larka tries to pull it out, but it doesn’t budge. He looks on the other side of the desk and could see the point of it. He just looks at her, because he was impressed with her.
“What happens if you do that to a person?” Larka had some idea, but he wanted to confirm it.
“I don’t know, but if I had to guess. They would die from me letting go of them inside an object.” Stacy hasn’t phased anyone else with her.
“So, you have gifts. What do your gifts have anything to do with me and my team?” Striker wanted to know how what she has had anything to do with his team.
“Take a look at these files and it will answer all your questions.” Stacy hands the thumb drive to him.
Striker accepts the thumb drive and accesses its files. He couldn’t believe how many files there were or how much they knew of each member of his team. They didn’t have much on Jerry, because unlike everyone else. He got his abilities from a meteorite from space.
Larka walks around the desk to look at the information as well. He couldn’t believe all the information they had on everyone. There were medical reports about Jessie and the genetic engineering they had done to her DNA while she was inside her mother.
A grin appears on his wolf looking face when he saw what they called the team. Striker and Larka continued to look through the material and wonder how she got all of it. They look at Stacy as she was sitting in the same chair she had sat in previously.
“How did you manage to get your hand on this information?” Striker was curious how she got it.
“I followed the man that has been watching me throughout the years and broke into his place. Once I had what I wanted, I left. I have the
original’s in a safe place.” Stacy had them in her safe in her RV.
There was a knock on the office door.
“Enter.”
Charlie walks in and looks at the strange looking woman, Larka and Striker “April, says that lunch is ready, if your hungry.”
Stacy had glanced at the person who came into the office. She was surprised to see a young mouse girl. She wonders where Striker found her. There was no mention of her in the files she took.
Charlie was still nervous around other people. She was still afraid someone might hurt her. She and Larka had talked about how they look, and he told her if she ever needs to talk to him. He was more than willing to listen.
Striker looks at Charlie “Charlie, can you ask April to set one more place, please?”
“Yes, sir.” Charlie wonders who the other woman was.
Charlie leaves Striker’s office and heads towards the kitchen to inform April. She wonders if the person in Striker’s office is going to join the team. She spots April putting everything in separate serving bowls.
“Striker wants to know if you could set another place.” Charlie walks over and grabs another plate from the cabinet and sets another space at the table.
“I think we can accommodate his request.” She smiles as she watches Charlie set a place for their visitor.
Dr. Greene had to go to the clinic. One of her patients was having problems. So, the staff called her to come in.
Charlie normally spends her time with Jessie. Jessie was down at the obstacle course running it under Jerry’s watchful eyes. Striker had told everyone on the team that they needed to run the obstacle course. Jessie wasn’t allowed to use her abilities on the course, neither was Jerry either.
After a few minutes, Striker, the woman she saw in the office and Larka come walking into the dining room. Jessie, Jerry, and Peyton come walking in as well. Charlie notices that Jessie had a slight limp to her walk.
April and Charlie had made Tacos, Burrito’s and nacho’s for lunch. There were Spanish rice and refried beans as well.
Stacy sits between Larka and April. She does take her gloves off before she starts eating.
“Come on Charlie. You need to get used to your new body.” Larka was running behind Charlie as they jogged around the property.
Charlie was getting used to having a tail, mouse ears and long blonde hair. Her adopted mother trimmed it for her, so she could manage it better. She had on a pair of shorts, tennis shoes, and a tank top shirt.
Larka had taken it upon himself to train Charlie. Since the two of them didn’t look human anymore, Larka was hoping Charlie would feel more comfortable with him. He started Charlie off easy and now was increasing what he wanted her to accomplish before they stopped.
Charlie stumbles as she runs away from Larka. She felt comfortable training with him because he was different. She spots where they started and put a little bit more effort into her running. Her legs were tired, and her claves were burning.
“Come on kid, you can do it.” Larka had caught up and was running beside Charlie.
Charlie puts the last bit of energy she had and sprint ahead to where they started. As soon as she crossed the starting line. She collapsed onto the ground breathing hard and exhausted. She was tired and tried to slow her breathing.
Larka looks down at Charlie as she lays on the ground breathing hard. He was proud of her and hands her a bottle of water.
“Take a small sip, Charlie.” As he hands the bottle to her.
Charlie accepts the bottled water and takes small sips from it. She was sitting up and her breathing was slowly returning to normal.
“You did good, kid.” Larka was proud of Charlie for not giving up.
“Thanks, I didn’t think I could do it.” Charlie knew she was going to be sore from stretching her leg muscles as she did.
She slowly stands up off the ground and moves over towards Larka. She could already tell that she was going to be sore. Once she is standing next to Larka “will it be okay if I use the hot tub?”
“Yes, it will be okay. Do you think you can make it, or do you need me to carry you?”
“I can make it, Larka.” Charlie starts walking towards the hot tub.
Peyton looks over towards Stacy as she stands next to her. Even though they were outside and undercover down at the shooting range. She was still covered from head to toe.
“Stacy, how come you cover your body up?” Peyton was curious and wanted to know.
“I have a skin condition. I and the sun don’t get along very well.” Stacy’s condition was only minor when she was younger, but once her ability manifest, it got worse.
Now she had to keep all her body covered up either with clothing or with a strong sunscreen lotion. If she didn’t, her skin would burn and blister. Before her power manifest, she just got a bad sunburn. Now, she blisters when the sun touches her skin for any length of time.
“Why do you cover yourself?” Stacy looks at Peyton as she stands nearby.
“Because of my injuries. I feel self-conscious of them.” Peyton was slowly overcoming how she felt about her wounds.
“I can understand that.” Stacy picks up the Glock G30sf Striker gave her to train with and fire at the target down the range.
Striker wanted everyone qualified on weapons. Jess was practicing with her energy bolts. Larka would have been with them, but he was with
Charlie helping her getting used to her new body. Her adopted mother, Dr. Greene had a medical emergency and had to leave.
Stacy was use, to using guns, but she wasn’t a marksman like Striker, Larka or Peyton. She brings the target back to her to see how well she did.
“Your grouping is good, but your aim is a little off.” Peyton could see where Stacy had missed the center and was a little to the left and down some.
“Let me see how your stance is.” Peyton sends another target down range.
Stacy takes her shooting stance. She uses the sights on the gun and aim. Once she has the target lined up, she pulls the trigger.
“Alright, holster your weapon.” Peyton brings the target back toward them.
Once the target comes forward. Peyton examines where the bullet hit the target. It was lined up better.
She sends the target back down range “I want you to shoot with just your left eye.”
“Okay” Stacy takes aim and fires.
“Alright now your right eye.” Peyton waits for Stacy to fire.
Stacy fires again with just the use of her right eye. She holsters her weapon and brings the target back. She could notice a difference in where each shot went.
“Just as I thought, you have an eye dominate problem.” Peyton thought she saw it in the first target, now this proved it.
“I can help her with that problem.” Larka comes walking up to the shooter stand.
“Where’s Charlie?” Jessie was looking for her friend.
“She’s in the hot tub relaxing. She finally made the running course in a decent time.” Larka was proud of her.
“I knew she could do it. She just had to get used to her new body.” Jess was happy her friend made it.
Striker comes walking over along with Jerry.
“What’s going on?” He looks towards Peyton and Stacy.
“Stacy has an eye dominate problem.” Peyton has seen a few while she was training.
“I can fix that problem.” Larka looks towards Striker.
“Alright, I’m leaving that to you Larka.” Striker figures Larka could handle that assignment.
“Have we heard anything from James lately?” Jerry was curious.
“Not yet, but that doesn’t mean we won’t hear from him soon.” Striker knew they should hear something soon.
Jessie shrinks and flies over towards Striker. She lands on his shoulder and watches everyone.
“I think training is over for today. Be ready tomorrow, because we are going to learn how to use squirrel suits.” Striker asked a friend of his to train his people in the use of the wingsuits.
He knew Jessie didn’t need the training, but she should have it. Now that Stacy was with them, she needed to learn as well. He does wonder what would happen if she phased through any object while falling?
“Squirrel suits?” Stacy looks at Striker for him to explain to her what that was.
Peyton saw Stacy’s look “wingsuits. We’re going to learn how to use wingsuits.”
“You mean we're going up in a perfectly good airplane and jump out of it?” Stacy has never done anything like that.
“Yep, and if you resist. I’m going to push you out.” An evil smile appears on Larka’s face.
“You wish. You forget I can turn intangible.” Stacy wonders if her powers would let her glide down since she wouldn’t weight anything.
“But can you hold your breath the whole way down?” Larka remembered Stacy demonstrating her powers to them and knew she needed to
hold her breath while she was phasing.
Stacy just glare at him. She has never gone up in a plane or parachute out of one. She wonders why Striker was training them to use one.
“Don’t worry Stacy, it’s not as bad as you think it is.” Jerry has jumped out of a plane before and loved it.
Stacy just looks at Jerry like he was nuts. She knew Jerry could change things around him.
“Easy for you to say.” She knew she was going to have to be completely covered when she jumps.
“You’ll enjoy it, Stacy. Come on, let's go and grab a snack.” Jerry escorts Stacy inside the house.
They spot mouse when they come in. She was sitting at the counter eating a Banana split sundae. She was wearing one of the t-shirt dresses
Dr. Greene bought her. April was putting away everything she used to make the sundae for Charlie.
“Hey, I want one.” Jerry saw what Charlie was eating and wanted one.
“How about you Stacy, would you like one as well?” April looks towards their newest member.
“Sure, thank you.” Stacy knew April was the house manager and the head cook.
She also knew April had the ability to grow plants and such. April and Striker have known each other for a long time. She has always taken care of his place.
April makes Jerry and Stacy a banana sundae. Afterward she puts the ingredients away. She glances over towards Charlie and notices she had some whip cream on her pink nose.
“Sit still, Charlie.” As she removes the whipped cream with a hand towel.
“Thank you.” Charlie smiles at April.
April was fun to be around, and she let her help in the kitchen. Charlie liked her because she was a kind person.
“You’re welcome, sweetie.” April liked Charlie and felt that she should have never had to experience what she did.
Stacy was pissed as she came limping into the kitchen several days later. She saw Larka having a beer for breakfast.
“Your lucky my guns are in my room, Larka. You didn’t have to push me out of the plane the other day.” Stacy hobbles over towards the refrigerator to grab some orange juice.
“You wouldn’t jump, so I had to give you a push.” Larka had an evil smile on his face. He enjoyed pushing Stacy out of the plane.
Jessie comes walking into the kitchen in a baby doll outfit she wore to bed last night. She was a little sunburn from staying out in the sun the other day. She grabs a juice from the refrigerator and sits down at the kitchen table.
“How’s your ankle this morning, Stacy?” Jessie looks at their newest member.
They had gone to a private jump school in Florida to learn how to jump from an airplane and how to use winged suits. They were up in the plane, getting ready to make their first jump when Stacy refused to jump. Since Larka was the one training them, he tossed her out of the plane.
Stacy looks over towards Jessie as she picked at a muffin. Jessie landed fine, but Stacy twisted her ankle when she landed.
“It still hurts. If it wasn’t hurting so much, I would kick Larka for throwing me out of the plane.” Stacy gives Larka a dirty look.
“You should have jumped when I told you too.” Larka looks over towards Stacy.
“That didn’t give you the right to toss me out of the airplane.” Stacy hated the feeling of falling and not being able to do anything about it.
“Guys, Striker wants everyone in the situation room.” Jerry had been told by Striker to get everyone and bring them to the situation room.
“What’s the situation room?” Stacy looks at everyone as they start leaving the kitchen right away.
“It’s our main conference where we go over the details of a mission.” Jessie finishes her juice and follows everyone.
Stacy hobbles after Jessie towards the situation room. As she enters it, she notices that the door for it was concealed. She had passed it several times since coming to live with everyone.
As she walks in there was a huge table with folders in front of assign seats. She watches as everyone takes their seat.
“You’re sitting over here, Stacy.” Jessie points towards a seat on the other side of Peyton.
Striker watches as everyone takes a seat. The assignment they have just been given was time sensitive and needed a swift response.
“Alright people, we have a nasty one here. The students of Carmel College in Concord, Massachusetts are being held hostage by an unknown number of terrorists. They are holding the staff and the students as hostage. They have threatened to kill the kids and the staff if certain prisoners we aren't releasing.” Striker shows a picture of the building.
“How old is the building?” Peyton wanted to know how long it has been around.
“According to the records we have on it, since 1915. It underwent renovation back in 2000.” Striker double checked the figures.
“How many students and staff our we are looking at?” Larka wanted to know how many innocents were at stakes.
“Six hundred students and fifty staff, that we know of.”
“Why did they take that school?” Stacy was curious about that.
“Because several prominent congressmen children attend that school. If I am right, they are going to use the congressmen children as
leverage to get what they want. If they don’t, they will kill off the children.” Striker wouldn’t let that happen.
“Is the school single gender or mix gender?” Jerry looks towards Striker.
“Mix gender. Also, they have four transgender students enrolled there as well.”
“How long before we leave and what’s the plan?” Peyton wonders what they were going to do.
“As soon as we end this meeting. The chopper is on its way and once we get there, we'll need to get eyes inside the building. Jessie and Stacy, you’re going in to scout the place out and to give us eyes as well. The school has a closed camera system, so I want you to try to tap into their system. Jerry, I’ll need for you to make an exit for us. Larka and I will take on the terrorist. Peyton, I’ll need for you to provide medical attention to anyone who needs it.”
“How are we getting there?” Stacy was curious about that.
“We’re being dropped five miles out and going in under darkness.” Striker has already made some plans.
“We have a problem Striker, my ankle is still sprained.” Stacy didn’t want to go into combat, with her ankle still sprained.
“Don’t worry about your ankle, Stacy. I got you covered.” Jerry looks over towards her.
“Thanks.”
“Alright, suit up and gear out. Larka, bring flash and smoke grenades.” Striker wanted to keep the kill count down.
“Gotcha you, boss.” Larka heads towards the armory to pack what equipment they were going to need.
Stacy heads towards her bedroom to change into her black leather bodysuit and boots. There was a knock at her bedroom door.
“Come in.” Stacy looks up to see who was coming in.
Jerry walks into Stacy’s bedroom. He glances around and notices she was still making it her own space. He walks over towards her “can you slip your boot on?”
“Yes, but it still won’t matter.” Stacy slips her boot over her bandaged-up ankle.
“Stand up please.” Jerry holds his hand out for her to grab for support.
Stacy grabs Jerry’s hand pull herself up off her bed. She feels him tightening his grip on her hand.
“What are you doing, Jerry?” She feels her hand start to become warm.
“You’ll see.” Jerry concentrates and sends his power towards Stacy.
His power surrounds Stacy’s body and start changing the properties of her leather bodysuit and boots. The boots become more supportive.
“There, that should do it. Your bodysuit is bullet resistant now and your boots will support your sprained ankle.” Jerry had a pleasant smile on his face.
“Thanks.” Stacy felt the difference in her boots.
“Don’t thank me yet. The bullets won’t penetrate your suit, but you will feel them when they hit your body. There’s not much I can do about that.” Jerry has tried several times to make a suit that was bullet and kinetic resistant.
“I also changed your motorcycle helmet. It’s bullet resistant and it will allow you to see in the dark and communicate with us.” Jerry had changed Stacy’s helmet yesterday.
“Thanks Jerry.” Stacy places a kiss on Jerry’s cheek.
Ten minutes later a black helicopter lands behind the house. Striker and his team head out towards it. April and Charlie watches as they head towards the helicopter.
Charlie looks up at April “are they going to be alright?”
“They should be fine. It takes a lot to kill Striker and Larka.” She hugs Charlie next to her.
Dr. Greene was at work again, but Charlie knew she loved her. When Dr. Greene wasn’t working, they would spend plenty of bonding time together.
They watch as the helicopter takes off and flies off. April knew that Striker and his team were being taken to a private airfield, where a blackout VTOL jet cargo transport was waiting for them.
As they land, Stacy notices a weird looking black transport plane waiting for them. She has never seen or heard of any type of plane like it before.
“Okay, I’m not even going to ask, but where did you guys find a VTOL cargo transport plane.” As they start walking towards the aircraft.
“It’s a gift from Lockheed Martin. They abandoned the project several years ago. I learned about it and bought the plane. I had some aircraft mechanic friends of mine get it up and operational.” Striker climbs aboard.
“We can land this bird in a large parking lot.” Larka sits next to Striker.
Once everyone is loaded up. The plane takes off and heads towards their destination.
When the team arrived at the school, SWAT and the local police were already there and set-up. They check in with the SWAT officer in charge. Striker finds out that the only communication they had from the kidnappers inside the school was their demands. They wanted members of a terrorist group release or they were going to start killing their hostage. Beginning with the congress members children.
All they knew so far, there were four men on the roof keeping watch. Maybe another two or three inside the school. They had no idea how many more were inside the school. The courtyard was too exposed. There was no way they could get closer without being seen. However, there was an area that Stacy could use to move from shadow to shadow without being seen.
Striker looks at Sergeant Riggs “I’ll get the information we need to breach the place safely.”
“I don’t see how you are going to do that, but good luck.” Sergeant Riggs wonder how he was going to accomplish that.
Striker walks over towards where his group was waiting. He looks towards Stacy and Jessie “I need recon on what we are facing inside. All the
Sergeant knows, is that there are four men on the roof keeping an eye out and another two or three inside guarding the children and staff.”
“Getting inside for myself is easy. There’s no way they will spot me.” Jessie checks her radio.
Stacy looks out at the school and back at Striker “the courtyard is to open and exposed. They will see me coming. Is there another area I can approach under darkness?”
“Right here. You can come in from the northeast corner. The only drawback is this area right here.” As Striker shows Stacy the aerial they had of the place. It’s at least three hundred feet and there’s no cover for you to use.
“Maybe I can help Stacy there. I can always cause a fog bank to roll in to give her some cover.” Jerry figures he could make the air around the school a little cloudy.
“That might be a little suspicious. I think I see a better solution.” Stacy was looking at the aerial and saw an opening that would conceal her entrance.
“This is the better route. It’s a little tricky, but I can use the woods behind the brick wall to come in.” Stacy was going to have to enter from the rear of the school. Which meant a good hike from their current position.
“Larka, go with Stacy and protect her.” Striker saw where Larka could set up and snipe the people on the roof.
“Alright, let’s move out and be careful.” Striker watches as Jessie shrinks and flies off.
Stacy and Larka move off as well.
Jerry looks towards Striker “do you think this is going to work out?”
“I hope so. We can’t afford any mistakes.” Striker turns his tablet on to see what Jessie, Stacy, and Larka saw.
Jessie flies towards the school. She flies up and over the brick wall towards the main building. She keeps low to the ground, so not to be spotted by the four guards she spotted up on the roof. She locates an exhaust pipe she could fly down as she zigzags past the guards on the roof. She does stop for Striker to get pictures of what they were carrying and armed with.
She drops down into the exhaust pipe and follows it down into a bathroom. Which luckily for her was the girl’s bathroom. She grows and peeks out of the bathroom to see if there were patrols in the hallway. She doesn’t spot anyone patrolling the hallway. So, she shrinks back down and starts flying up and down the corridors checking rooms and getting the layout of the place.
Larka and Stacy:
It takes Larka and Stacy some time to get to the location unseen by the guards up on the roof. They stuck to the shadows, where Stacy latterly blended in with the darkness. Larka, on the other hand, had to work a little harder to keep from being spotted as they tree hop and dashed across large expanses of an open field.
Larka catches up to Stacy ‘how do you manage to blend into the shadows?”
“Don’t know, I just do.” She has always been able to blend into the shadows without being spotted.
“Well, when you figure it out. Let me know so I can learn your trick.” Larka pulls his binoculars out and checks the guards on the roof and the
windows. He spots two windows with snipers in them.
Stacy stands nearby and watches as Larka does a search. She notices him looking at some windows near the left-hand corner of the building.
“What do you see?” Stacy couldn’t see anything in that area.
“Snipers nest in that left-hand corner, second floor. There’s another over in the right-hand corner as well.” Larka could take both out without any problems.
“So, I have to be careful going in.” Stacy spotted her entrance.
There was a downstairs office that she could enter without a problem. Getting to the back-brick wall was no problem but getting to the school sort of left her exposed. She was going to have to dash across a large space.
“You ready, little girl?” Larka looks at Stacy.
“As ready as I’m ever going to be.” Stacy leaves Larka and starts heading towards the brick wall.
She hops from one shadow to another shadow using them as cover. Once she was at the wall, she concentrates and walks through the wall.
The strange tingling sensation she gets when she passes through the bricks let her know how much further she must go before she reemerges on the other side.
When she reemerges on the other side, she takes a deep breath and runs like hell towards the building. She takes another deep breath and jumps through the school’s wall and emerges inside into what looks like the Dean’s office. She notices the dean had been shot in the head.
“Stacy to Striker, the dean has been shot.” Stacy tries to transmit but was getting static. “So much for that.” As she carefully moves out of the dean’s office.
Larka was listening to Stacy and watching on his wrist monitor as she entered the building, and then he lost her. He checks Jessie’s feed and he couldn’t get anything from her camera or radio either.
“Striker, we have a problem. The terrorist are using jammers. I’ve lost contact with Stacy and Jessie.”
“Roger that Larka.” Striker and Jerry were seeing static as well.
“Well, they are on their own.” Striker hated not knowing what was going on, but now they were going to have to wait to find out the details.
Jessie heard static coming through her earpiece. Which told her, there was a jammer up and running somewhere in the school. As she is flying, she spots two guards patrolling the hallway she flew down. As much as she wanted to shock them into unconsciousness, her orders were to scout and report.
Jessie makes a mental image of them and continues scouting. She finds several bodies that had been moved to an empty classroom. Some were students, and some were teachers. She continues her recon.
Stacy passes through the office door and out into the hallway. She checks one of the emergency doors and finds it rigged with explosives. She takes a map off the wall and goes about checking all the doors. They were all rigged with explosives with some sort of motion detector that she could see. She approached the device in her ghost form, so as not to set the explosives off.
She examines it as much as she could in her intangible form. Luckily, the motion detector that was part of it, didn't pick her up. The way it was attached to the door was by a chain, so if you yanked on it. It would cause the device to go off.
Stacy looks at her map and moves towards the gym and cafeteria. If she was going to move the children and staff to make it easier to watch them. That is where she would move them to.
Stacy avoids two guards that were patrolling the hallway by ducking inside an empty classroom in her phased formed. She waits for them to pass, before leaving the room. As she gets closer to the gym, she phases through the boy’s locker room and follows it out to where it exits out to the gym. She presses her ear to the door and didn’t hear anyone on the other side.
She phases and sticks her head out. She spots three guys in combat gear and carrying AK-74 rifles and bandolera of grenades. They were watching the students and a few teachers in the gym. She also spotted the jammers they were using.
Jessie spotted that there were three terrorist guarding students and facility in the cafeteria. Some of them looked to have been injured. She flies closer to get a better look. Most of the people she has been seeing were of Middle Eastern origin. She didn’t see any jammers among them.
Jessie flies out and heads for the gym, where she spots Stacy hiding in the shadows.
Stacy spots Jessie high up in the rafters and motions for her to come down. She watches as Jessie flies down towards her. Once she is close
enough to her “The jammers are over there. Do you think you can cause them to short out?”
Jessie looks over towards the jammer and nods her head yes. She takes off and flies over towards the jammers. As she gets closer, she builds up an electrical discharge in order to short them out. Since no one was watching her, she grabs the antennae base and sends an electrical charge into them. They short out as her comm unit comes back online.
Larka kept watching his wrist comm when he notices Stacy’s and Jessie’s comms come back online. He watches as Jessie shows what was around her and the jammers that she just fired.
Striker and Jerry watch as their monitors show the feed from Jessie’s and Stay’s comm unit. He could see that Jessie had fried the jammers.
“Stacy, where are you guys at?” Striker was trying to make out where she and Jessie were.
“Jessie and I are in the gym. Jessie just fried their jamming equipment.” Stacy watches as Jessie flies back to her.
When Jessie is close by, she grows some. Her comm unit worked better at full size.
“I’ve counted about twelve terrorists in the school. Four on the roof, two patrolling the hallways and six guarding the students and staff. That’s not counting the ones watching the back of the school and probably two more watching the front of the school. So, sixteen total.” Jessie was standing close to Stacy as they talked with Striker and Jerry.
“We need to take them out all at once.” Striker looks over towards Jerry.
“I could change the air inside to knock out gas, but I would need to get close enough to the school to do it.” Jerry knew he could put all of them asleep inside.
“That still leaves the bombs on the door. All the entrances and exits are booby-trapped with explosives. Anyone that tries to get close to them will set them off.” Stacy wasn’t a bomb expert.
“That’s no problem. Once we knock everyone out. I can enlarge a window or something and get people out and get a bomb expert in there.” Jerry figures he could make another exit for them to use.
“Couldn’t you phase the bomb, Stacy?” Larka was wondering if she could by-pass the motion detector.
“I need to touch it, in order to phase it.” Stacy didn’t want to take the chance.
“I could try and disarm it.” Jessie was thinking she could short the electronics out.
“Don’t worry about it. I can turn the door and bomb into jello.” Jerry figures he could change the door the explosives were mounted too into jello.
“Alright, give me and Jerry a few minutes to join Larka.” Striker grabs his weapons and head over towards Larka’s location.
Larkin spotted Striker, Jerry and Peyton moving towards him. They were sticking to the shadows and moving quickly. He kept his eyes on the snipers in the windows and the ones on the roof.
Peyton and Jerry move when Striker moves. They stayed on his heels as they moved with Striker.
They finally make it to Larkin’s position without being spotted. Peyton stands in the shadows along with Larkin, Jerry, and Striker.
“Striker, do we have permission to take the guards out?” Stacy and Jessie had split up to take the terrorist guarding the students out at the same time.
As for the ones patrolling the hallways, Jessie would take them out. After she takes out the ones guarding the students.
“Go, ahead and take your targets out. I and Larkin will take out the snipers. Jerry and Peyton are going to make an exit for the students and teachers.” Striker and Larkin would handle the snipers and the terrorist on the roof.
“Okay, we’re starting our attack now.” Stacy becomes solid and fires her guns at two of the guards hitting them in their heads.
The third guard turns around and fires his AK at her. He watches as the bullets go straight through the woman and hit the wall behind her. He
couldn’t believe what he was seeing as the woman in the dark cloak kept walking towards him.
Stacy smiles as she grabs one of his grenades. She pushes it into his chest and let go of it as she pulls the pin.
“Bye, Bye!” As an evil smile appears on her cloaked covered face.
The terrorist explodes as the grenade goes off inside his body. Stacy looks at the screaming kids “Quiet down or you're going to bring the others out in the hallway, in here. Teachers get these students under control.” Stacy walks towards the main entrance to the gym and sticks her head out to see if anyone was coming.
Stacy doesn’t spot anyone coming to investigate the explosion. She pulls back and walks over towards the kids and teachers.
“Does anyone need medical attention?” Stacy had a basic medical kit with her.
One of the older teachers stand up and walk over to Stacy. Mrs. Gregory didn’t know who this young woman was, but she was glad that she had come when she did. One of the men had been eyeing one of her female students.
“Everyone is okay, but there are some other teachers and students that got hurt and were left in a classroom with those that had been killed.” Mrs. Gregory hopes they were alright.
“We’ll get to them as soon as the school is secure. Now, I need for you to get everyone ready to leave as soon as I hear from my team leader.
Also, do any of the teachers have any military experience?” Stacy was thinking about letting them have the AK’s.
“Yes, there are a few who do.” Mrs. Gregory motions for them to come forward.
“Good, take the guns and get ready to help out if we need it.” Stacy was waiting to hear from Striker.
Cafeteria:
Jessie heard the command to start her attack on the terrorist guarding the kids in the cafeteria. A playful smile appears on Jessie’s face as she flies towards one of the guards and sends an electrical charge through his grenade bandoleer. Just as she flies off, the bandoleer explodes, killing the terrorist. The other two turn around and gets guts and bloody body parts on them. Some of the kids sitting nearby, get some blood on them. Jessie heads towards her next target and sends an electrical charge into his ear, causing his head to explode.
The last guy was looking around for whoever caused his partners head to explode and the explosion of his other partner. He sees a little bug fly up to his eyes and the next thing he knows. He is lying on the floor and seeing bright dots.
Jessie flashed her electrical burst and causes the guy to fall to the floor on his back. She grows while standing on his chest. Jessie removes one of his grenades and stuffs it in his mouth while pulling the pin.
“Pop goes the weasel.” As she shrinks and flies away.
The man's head explode as the grenade goes off. She regrows and looks at everyone.
“Please stay seated. We’re here to free you. I need the instructors among you to keep all the students here. We haven’t removed the bombs
on the doors yet.” Jessie shrinks and leaves the cafeteria.
She was going after the roaming guards. Jessie flies out and goes hallway hunting for the two roaming guards. She flies up behind one and sends an electrical charge through his body, setting off the grenades.
Jessie flies backward from the shock wave as she tries to recover. She spots what was left of both men laying on the floor splatter against the floor, ceiling and the hallway walls. She grows to her full height.
“Guards down. Time for you guys to join us.” Jessie’s body hurt from the explosion.
“Did you take out the sniper in the front?” Larkin didn’t care if they did or didn’t.
“No, we didn’t take them out.” Stacy had cut in on the conversion.
“Don’t worry about it. We’ll handle it.” Larkin picks his rifle up and switches the scope to thermal.
Larkin takes aim and starts firing at the snipers in rapid sensation. He takes the rear snipers out and jumps from the tree he was into the wall and then through the open window, the sniper had been hiding. He rushes out of the room and starts taking out the other snipers at the front of the school.
Gunshots could be heard as Larkin shot the other snipers. He just runs by the room and pops them
Just as Larkin had fired, Striker tosses up onto the roof, two specialty grenades that explode, sending spikes in all directions. The spikes kill the four terrorists on the roof. He follows Larkin into the school through the same window.
Jerry looks at Peyton “she’ll we join our comrades?”
“Let’s.” Peyton follows behind Jerry as he walks up to the back-gate door and turns it to dust.
When they get to the emergency exit door of the school “Stacy said there’s a bomb attached to this door.”
“No problem.” Jerry places his hand on it and turns it to dust as well.
“One down and several more to go.” Peyton follows behind Jerry.
Larkin and Striker clear the second floor. They meet up with Peyton and Jerry down in the main hall. A few seconds later, Jessie joins them.
“Where’s Stacy?” Peyton was curious where she was.
“She’s still in the gym with the kids and students in there.” Jessie had grown to her full height.
“Alright, Jerry and I will go there to help her out. Larkin goes to the Cafeteria and wait for Jerry and me to show up. Jessie, take Peyton to that room you found with the dead and injured bodies.” Striker watches as Larkin, Peyton and Jessie head walk off.
“Come on Jerry, let’s go and free the kids in the gym.” Striker and Jerry head towards the gym.
Stacy was watching the instructor that grabbed the guns. She knew the kids were ready to go home.
“Stacy keep everyone away from the door. We’re getting ready to disarm it.” Strikers voice comes over the wrist radio.
“You’re all clear, Striker.” Stacy looks towards the kids.
“Everyone, get ready to leave the gym.” Stacy hopes the kids in the cafeteria were alright.
The kids and instructor’s in the gym line-up on either side of Stacy. They were ready to go home and being with their parents and loved ones.
“Do it, Jerry.” Striker watches as Jerry turns the door to the gym to dust.
He did take a picture of the bomb before Jerry changed it. He and Jerry were a safe distance away just in case the bomb went off. As soon as
the door was dust, they could see Stacy and the students and instructors on the other side.
Striker informed the SWAT commander that the students and staff were free. Him and Jerry head over where Larkin was waiting for them.
“It’s all yours now, Jerry.” Larkin steps aside to let Jerry do his job.
Jerry concentrates on the door and bomb and watches as it turns to dust. Jessie flies into the cafeteria and grows to her full height.
Okay, people its time to leave this place.” Jessie watches as the kids and instructors that were in there leave.
Jerry turns the front door of the school into dust, so SWAT and medical personnel could come in and help. Jerry finds Peyton helping a few people that had been taken to a room where the dead had been put.
“How are they?” Jerry kneels to help Peyton with a woman.
“They will live but are going to need major surgery.” Peyton finishes patching up the person she was helping.
The medical personnel that came with SWAT comes in to help Peyton with the injured she found. She watches as the dead are placed in clear coffins Jerry makes for them.
“Looks like the plan went the way you planned, Striker.” Stacy walks up and stands next to Larkin and Striker.
“Everything doesn’t always go like I plan, Stacy.” Striker knows they were lucky.
“I’m going to go and check and see if there are anyone living on the roof.” Jessie shrinks and flies off.
“So, what do we do now?” Stacy looks towards Striker.
“We head back home till we’re needed again.” Striker goes looking for the Commander of the SWAT team to talk with him.
“Come on newbie, let's see what Jessie has for us.” Larkin starts heading towards the roof.
Jessie reaches the roof and finds all four men either dead or seriously injured. The ones that needed medical help. She electrocutes them, to put them out of their misery.
Stacy and Larkin climb up to the roof and spot Jessie walking around and looking at the men Striker killed. Larkin had seen what those special grenades of Strikers could do.
“Anyone still alive?” Larkin could smell the ozone from the electricity Jessie generates.
“Nope, all dead.” Jessie just stood and look at the dead men.
Charlie couldn’t believe how much fun she was having with her grandparents. Dr. Greene came home several hours after Striker and his team left. She had been helping April in the kitchen making pies when her mother came home from the clinic.
Charlie was happy that her mother was home. She was even happier when her mother came over and helped her and April make pies. They were making a large batch because Larkin could eat several whole pies by himself. Jerry could eat half a pie by himself and depending what type of pie they made, Jessie could down a pie by herself.
The others could eat a quarter slice. So, that was why they were making a large batch of pies. Once the pies were done, Dr. Greene suggested that they go and visit her parents. Charlie felt a little nervous about going out but knew her new grandparents loved her. So, April went with them to visit Dr. Greene parents.
Jack Blackjacket watches his new granddaughter as she rode his horse. He had been a little startled when he first saw her but warmed up to her unusual looks. His daughter told them what happened to Charlie and how she came to be what she was.
He and his wife felt sorry for what was done to her. So, they accepted Charlie as she was. When he asked his daughter, why she didn’t change Charlie’s first name. She said that Charlie wanted to keep it.
“You’re doing very good Charlie.”
“Thanks, Grandpa.” Charlie liked his grandparents.
Charlie knew they had to get used to her looks and such, but she felt that they cared for her. She controls her grandfather’s horse the way he taught her. She could see her grandfather and April watching her. A smile appears on her face as she recalls April startling her grandfather by making some of his plants to grow and produce. April had told her that her gift was with plants.
Charlie stops in front of her grandfather and April. She slides down from the saddle as her grandfather suggested. She turns around and looks at them.
“You did very well Charlie. I’m going to speak with Striker when he comes back about getting you a horse to ride on the ranch.” April knew Striker would do it.
She knew he had a soft spot for children. He helped raise his brother’s and sisters.
“Let’s go and help your grandmother, Charlie.” April and Charlie head inside the house to help Dr. Greene and Charlie’s grandmother.
Around nine at night, April, Dr. Greene, and a very sleepy Charlie head by to the ranch. Charlie was sound asleep on the back seat. She had fallen asleep before they left Dr. Greene’s parents place.
“Looks like we wore poor Charlie out.” As April looks at Charlie.
“She’s a typical teenage girl. Full of energy and out of energy by night time.” Dr. Greene glances at her daughter.
When they get back to the ranch. Dr. Greene carries a sleeping Charlie from the SUV to her bedroom and strips her out of her clothes. She slips Charlie’s favorite nightshirt on her and tucks her in.
“Sleep tight my little mousy.” She places a kiss on Charlie’s forehead.
When she leaves Charlie’s bedroom, she leaves the bedroom door slightly open. Charlie still has a problem being inside a locked room, unless someone she trusted was with her.
While Dr. Greene was putting Charlie to bed. April was checking on the pies they made earlier. She knew the team would be hungry when they get home. The house phone starts ringing. April walks over and answers it.
“Hello?”
“April, it’s Peyton. Prepare the spare bedroom. We’re babysitting a high-profile witness.” Peyton hated that their flight back to the ranch was being held up.
Peyton was tried and wanted to get back home. Jessie was asleep in a pouch on Larkin’s web belt. She had shrunk down, and Larkin put her in an empty pouch on his web belt. Their newest member was resting as well. Stacy wasn’t used to being awake during the day time. She was a night time person.
“Alright, anything I need to know about our guest?” April grabs a pad and pencil she keeps by the phone.
“Yeah, the man is overweight and smells. Also, he has a diet that would put anything Larkin ate to shame.” Peyton couldn’t believe that they were being hired to babysit a criminal they would shoot.
“Alright, I’ll get the spare bedroom ready for our guest.” April had a feeling she wasn’t going to like whoever they were bring back.
She hangs up and heads towards the spare bedroom. She changes the sheets and double check everything in the room.
“Are we expecting a guest?” Dr. Greene had followed April to the spare room.
“Yep. We have a babysitting job.” April hated them. They always got the worse of the worse to babysit.
“Oh, good graces. I hate those type of jobs. Did they say who it was?” Dr. Greene gives April a hand on the bed.
“Nope, however according to Peyton. The person is overweight, smells and their eating habits are worse then Larkins.”
“Oh, that is saying a lot.” Dr. Greene knew Larkin had developed some bad eating habits since he has been changed.
“You’re telling me.” April finishes up everything.
She looks towards Dr. Greene “why don’t you go ahead and go to bed. I’ll be staying up till the team gets back.”
“Are you sure?” Dr. Greene didn’t want to leave April up by herself.
“I’ll be fine. The team should be home soon.”
“Okay, if you’re sure, you’ll be okay. I’ll see you in the morning.” Dr. Greene checks on Charlie before she heads to bed.
April grabs her gun and patrols the grounds. Even though the sensors said the grounds were secure. Striker prefers if a visual is done as well. After checking the property, April heads back to the house.
She makes herself a cup of cocoa and selects a movie to watch. Around four in the morning, the helicopter that comes to pick the team up, lands in the backyard. She grabs her house robe and slip her slippers on and opens the backdoor. Peyton walks in first, followed by Jerry.
“Striker and Larkin are escorting our charge in.” Jerry couldn’t believe the smell coming from their charge.
“Where’s Jessie?” April knew Jessie should be coming in next.
“She’s asleep in a pouch on Larkins web belt.”
April just shakes her head as she watches Jerry heads towards his bedroom. She spots Larkin walking with a heavy-set white guy with short black hair and pasty white face. He was wearing a messy baby blue button-down, short sleeve dress shirt. Half-tucked into a pair of black dress pants and black dress shoes covering his feet.
Larkin couldn’t believe the smell he was getting from this guy. He must have shit himself. He wishes the damn police did their job.
“Here’s our charge, April. meet Thomas Month, accountant to the les Gens Sans Noms cartel.” Larkin couldn’t wait to put this guy in a tub.
April picked up the faint smell of someone who crapped themselves. On top of that, the man needed a bath.
“Greeting Mr. Month, I’m the house manager and you’ll be under my care. I insist that as long as you are staying here, you take a bath.”
Mr. Month just gives the young woman a glare. He didn’t like people he didn’t know telling him what to do. He thought this dog face person or the other guy was in charge.
Larkin noticed the look on Mr. Month’s face when April spoke to him. He leans in close to his ear “I would do what the lady says, or you’ll end up out in the yard with her spraying you with a firehouse.”
“But you're supposed to protect me.” Month looks at Larkin.
“This is her home and she makes the rules here. If you don’t like it, we can always give you to the les Gens Sans Noms cartel.” An evil smile appears on Larkin’s face as he walks towards Peyton and Jessie’s bedroom.
“Mr. Month, if you’ll follow me, please. I’ll show you to your room.” April guides Mr. Month down to the spare bedroom.
Mr. Month walks behind April and watches her ass. He liked how her ass looked. She was the type of woman, he would enjoy down in his playroom. Just like the young lady, he saw that shrunk. She would have been someone he would do all sort of sexual things too.
“This is your room, Mr. Month. You have your own bathroom and I suggest you put it to good use. Jerry will bring you some clean clothes to wear. Breakfast is served at 0800hrs. Do you have any questions for me?” April looks at Mr. Month.
“Yes, which of you girls will be coming down to keep me company?” He smiles at her.
“None of us will. If you touch any of the women here, you’ll end up with a broken arm. Trust me, if any of us don’t do it. The men here will do it and they won’t be very nice either.”
Month heads into the bedroom and then to the bathroom to freshen up.
April just smiles as she walks away and to her bedroom.
Peyton wakes up with Jessie sleeping between her legs. She was wondering why her legs were spread open. She looks down under the blankets and spots Jessie’s head resting on her abdomen. She grabs Jessie’s pillow and slides it under her head, as she slides out of bed.
She leaves the blanket covering Jessie.
She wonders when Jessie came into the bedroom. She glances at the clock on the nightstand and notices it was almost noon. She puts her house robe and slippers on before leaving the bedroom.
As she is walking out of her and Jessie’s bedroom, she spots Larkin giving Charlie a piggyback ride.
“You guys look like you’re having fun.” There was a smile on Peyton’s face.
“Larkin’s giving me a piggyback ride.” Charlie had a big ole smile on her face. She was having so much fun with Larkin.
They walk into the kitchen and spot April fixing lunch for everyone. Dr. Greene was in there as well help.
“Mommy, Larkin gave me a piggyback ride.” Charlie runs over to her mother and hugs her.
“I saw sweet pea.” Dr. Greene hugs her daughter back.
Larkin grabs a cold beer out of the refrigerator and pop it open. He takes a swig of it and looks around the kitchen.
“Where’s Month at?” He was surprised the fat slob wasn’t in the kitchen.
“He’s restricted to his room. He came out of his room in his boxers at the same time Charlie was coming out of her bedroom. I didn’t like the way he was looking at Charlie, so I told him he was restricted to his bedroom and that one of us would bring his meals to him. Striker took his breakfast to him and I was going to take his lunch to him. I don’t think its appropriate for him to be around Charlie without one of us near her.”
April didn’t like what she saw on his face.
“I have to agree with April on that matter. The man is a pig.” Stacy comes walking into the kitchen. She felt better now that she got some sleep in.
“If he is a pig, why are we babysitting him then?” Dr. Greene looks at her companions for an answer.
“Because an enhanced human like most of us was sent after him. Normal, law enforcement isn’t equipped to protect him from people like us.” Striker had come walking into the kitchen.
“Striker!” Charlie runs over to him.
“Hey, pipsqueak.” Striker picks Charlie up off the ground and put her on his hip.
Dr. Greene looks at her adopted daughter as Striker held her. She was going to be one spoiled child in this household.
“So, we are protecting him from an enhance human like us?” Stacy looks at Striker as he held Charlie.
“Yes. I have no idea what the person can do or where they are fun. All I do know is this person was engineer liked a few of us.”
Charlie looks at Striker “are they like me?”
“No one is like you, pumpkin.” Striker smiles at Charlie.
“Well, time to feed our guest.” April picks up the tray she had prepared for their guest.
Dr. Greene starts serving everyone their lunch. She wonders where Jessie is.
“Peyton, do you know where Jessie is?” Dr. Greene hasn’t seen her since she has been up.
“She’s in our bed still asleep.”
“Still?” Larkin looks over towards Peyton.
“Yep, she was still asleep when I got out of bed.” Peyton was surprised to find her between her legs.
“How can she still be asleep? She got more sleep then all of us.” Larkin had seen her pass out on their way home.
“She is still a teenager, Larkin. Remember, Jessie got her abilities when she was thirteen. She hasn’t built up the energy reserve we have.”
Jerry knew Jessie’s electrical bolts took a lot out of her.
The next thing all of them witness is the lights in the place going bright and then popping. They hear a loud scream of a little girl and the tray that April had carried come flying down the hallway.
Larkin and Stacy head down the hallway to see what was going on. Striker was right behind them, after setting Charlie down on her feet. Larkin arrives first and he sees Month encircled with vines from the plants in the house.
Jessie was standing before Month with electricity crackling in each hand. She was just wearing a t-shirt.
“Don’t you ever touch my ass or any part of my body, EVER AGAIN!” The energy in her hands got brighter.
April looks at Month “what did I tell you this morning? You’re lucky I came along when I did, or you would be dead right now.”
Larkin and Striker walk up to April. He stood near Jessie “what happened, April?”
“Month thought he would grab Jessie’s ass. I made the plants near him grab him before Jessie could fire him.” April knew all the light bulbs in the house were going to need to be replaced.
Striker was ready to punch him. He was warned about how Month thought of women and what the police had found him doing when they arrested him.
Larkin looks at Month “what did I say to you when you stepped into this house? By alright, April should let Jessie fry your ass. You touch any of the women here and you won’t have a hand anymore.”
“Larkin, take Jessie out of here, please.” Striker could tell Jessie was royally pissed off.
“Come on Sparky. Let’s go and grab something to eat.” Larkin turns Jessie around and escorts her back towards the kitchen.
Stacy takes Month hands and phase him out of the vines and toss his ass into his room. She looks at him “your lucky you are not dead right now.” As she walks out of his room.
Everyone knew how Jessie felt about being touch in a sexual nature or in places they shouldn’t. The team knew she had been exploited and molested by her father and brothers before Striker found her. She hated what they did to her and she hated when people touched her because it reminds her of the abuse.
“Come mere Jessie.” Peyton pulls Jessie to her and holds her.
Peyton rubs her back and tries to claim her down. She knew it would take time for Jessie to let go of the emotions she was feeling. They head back to the kitchen to have lunch.
Once everyone has had lunch or breakfast in some cases. Jerry and Striker get to work replacing all the bulbs in the house, thanks to Jessie’s anger. They knew it wasn’t really her fault. Jessie’s ability was tied to her emotions.
Larkin and Charlie were outside at the obstacle course working out. Larkin was training Charlie to run it. As far as everyone knew, Charlie didn’t have any special ability, so they were building up Charlie’s body.
“How is doing, Larkin?” Dr. Greene came out to check on her daughter.
“She’s doing fine. Charlie still needs work, but we’re not going to push her till she gets older. Striker and I feel she should enjoy being a child.”
Larkin liked having the little pipsqueak around.
“What are we going to do about our guest?” Dr. Greene heard what happened and was concern Month might try something with Charlie.
“Don’t worry about our guest. Jerry is working on something to make him obey. I know if Month doesn’t behave himself, Jessie will electrify him.” Larkin wouldn’t blame her.
“So, how long are we supposed to protect him?” Dr. Greene kept watching Charlie and grin when she spots Charlie figure a way around an obstacle.
“Don’t know, only Striker does. I will say this if he tries to touch Charlie, like he did Jessie. He’ll be needing new arms.” Larkin couldn’t stand pedophiles. He couldn’t figure out why a grown person would want to molest a child.
“You’re not the only one Larkin. I might change his gender and let him see what it is like.” Dr. Greene has never used her knowledge of medicine to harm a person. However, she would do it to save her daughter or make a person who hurt her daughter feel the hurt.
Striker was looking over the file Stacy had brought with her when she joined the team. He finally has time to read it. As he is reading the file and realizing that everyone on his team was created for a reason. Jessie’s genes had been messed with while she was inside her mother’s womb. She was just like Stacy.
According to the file, the genetic material that was given to Larka had been infused with genetic material from some sort of supernatural creature. He saw that he had been given a drug cocktail of some sort. April’s file showed that her genetic material had been messed with and so had Peyton’s.
He leans back in his office chair and couldn’t believe what he just read. They purposely created everybody on his team, except Dr. Greene. Her abilities came from her Native American heritage. She came from a long line of shamans. The vials Stacy took with the liquid and needles attached to them, he had no idea what they did.
He holds one up and examines it. He reaches over to his cellphone and sends a text to Dr. Greene.
Den:
Dr. Greene, Jessie, Charlie, and Stacy were sitting around the table playing candy land. Dr. Greene had the day off from the clinic and wanted to spend time with Charlie. The mother and daughter relationship developing between them was growing stronger.
Larka was in the living room watching a football game. He had placed a bet on the outcome of the game. Jerry, April, and Peyton were out shopping for the house. Jerry was acting as a driver for the three of them.
Dr. Greene’s cellphone beeps letting her know a text message arrived. She picks it up and look at it and notices it was from Striker.
“Guys, Striker needs me for something. Why don’t you skip my go?” Dr. Greene gets up and heads back towards Striker’s office.
Charlie watches as her mother walk towards Striker’s office. She wonders what he wanted.
“Charlie, it’s your go.” Jessie had made her move.
“Okay.” Charlie draws a double pink card and moves her piece to the first one and then to the second one.
Striker’s Office:
“Enter.” As Striker hears a knocking sound coming from his door.
Dr. Greene enters Striker’s office and closes the door behind her. She looks at Striker and the file he had opened on his desk.
“What’s up to Richard? You interrupted a board game I was playing with my daughter.” Dr. Greene walks over and sits down in the leather chair in front of Striker’s desk.
“Have you ever come across something like this before?” Striker hands the vial to Hilary.
Hilary accepts it and looks at it. She had never seen anything like it before. She wonders what it was.
“What is it?”
“I have no idea. Stacy handed it over to me when she joined our team.” Striker was curious what the stuff did.
“I take it, that file was given to you by her as well?” Hilary puts the vial on the desk.
“Yep, it has information in it on all of us and what has been done to us.” Richard couldn’t believe that all of them have been modified/turned into what they were.
“What does it say about me?” Hilary was curious about what the government had on her.
“Not much. All they know about you is where you were born, your family members and what schools you attended. They don’t know about the gifts you received from your shaman family background.”
“Well, that’s good, I think. As for this stuff in the vial. I could take it down to medical and see what it is made of or have Jerry do it when he gets back.” She really wanted to spend more time with Charlie. She hasn’t been around much while Charlie has been recovering.
“Let Jerry handle it. That way you can spend more time with Charlie.” Richard knew Hilary wanted to spend time with her daughter.
“Sounds good to me. Now if you’ll excuse me. I have a game to get back too.” Hilary gets up and heads back to her daughter.
Graft Bioresearch, Manhattan, KS:
Lab technicians Lori Marshal and Jeff Miller couldn’t believe the shipment that came in. They had never seen anything like the chemicals and chambers that had been delivered to them. Their instructions were to analyze the equipment and figure out how it worked. Also, to figure out what type of chemicals had been delivered to them.
“What type of chemical do you think these things are?” Lori was holding a vial with some sort of purple fluid inside it.
“I don’t know. I like to know where these chambers were built. They are beyond anything we have today.” Jeff was examining the chambers that had been brought in. There had to be at least seven of them.
Lori puts the vial she had been holding back in the rack where several others are stored. She walks over towards the chambers and examines them as well. She notices that something plugged into them and it was missing.
“Hey Jeff, did you see this?” Lori points to an opening where it looked like something other than power connected to it.
Jeff walks over with some sort of flat screen control panel in his hand. He looks at the connections and the panel and hooks it up to it.
“That answers that question. All we need now is a power source and to fill it up.” Jeff steps back away from the chamber.
“What is it?” Lori was curious.
“Haven’t you seen Aliens before, Lori? These are sensory deprivation chambers that you can suspend a person in and do whatever medical
procedures you are going to do to the subject. It also has a spot where you can inject nanites into the subject.” Jeff had only seen these chambers in Sci-Fi movies.
He didn’t think someone had created these chambers. The medical technology involved in creating these things were cutting edge.
“What I would like to know, what have they been used for or on?” Lori knew that they dealt with a lot of cutting-edge stuff, but why were these things sent to them?
“Who knows, but I would like to know who built them.” Jeff was practically drooling at the mouth.
“Can’t you figure that out?” Lori was inventorying the chemicals they had received.
“Yeah! All I have to do is open the chambers up and see what serial numbers are on the circuit board, unless.” Jeff plugs his tablet into the USB port on the flat screen and initiates a diagnostic of the chamber and flat screen unit.
“Striker, you better come and see this.” April was standing in the doorway looking towards Month’s body.
“What’s wrong, April?” Striker’s walks over towards April. He looks past her and into the bedroom.
Month’s body was laying on the floor in just the boxers he had on. Striker walks over and kneels next to Month’s body. He checks his pulse.in three different locations. The man was dead. He looks over towards April “you better get Nayeli to come and confirm Month’s death.”
“On it, boss.” April heads towards the living room, where Charlie and Dr. Nayeli Greene were watching the newest Dead Pool movie.
Larka had gone out on his custom motorcycle along with Stacy. Jessie was laying on the floor watching the movie with Dr. Greene and Charlie.
Jerry was outside helping Peyton with a project. He had looked at the sample Striker asked him too and determine that most of the ingredients in it, was organic and biological. He couldn’t replicate it with his abilities.
“Hey Nayeli, Striker needs you for a few minutes.” April saw that they were halfway through the Dead Pool movie.
“Alright.” Dr. Greene gets up and follows April.
“I can pause it, mom.” Charlie looks towards her mother.
“It’s alright sweetie. You and Jessie go ahead and continue watching it.”
Charlie watches as her mother and April head down the hallway. She wonders what Striker wanted with her mother. She turns back around and continues watching the movie.
“What’s going on?” Dr. Greene was wondering why April came got her.
“Month is dead, and Striker wanted you to verify it.” April stops at the doorway.
Dr. Greene walks over and checks Month. Striker was standing nearby. She kneels next to the body and checks him. She sends her power into him.
After a few minutes, Dr. Greene stands up and looks at Striker and April “he’s dead. He died from a heart attack.”
“Well, that’s something the Marshal service didn’t tell us about.” Striker hated delivering bad news.
“I bet they didn’t know. We need to call the coroner and you need to call the Marshal service.” Dr. Greene pulls her cellphone out to call the
coroner. She knew the coroner, so there wouldn’t be any problems. They attended the same medical school together.
Dr. Greene goes down to the medical bay located in a sub-level under the ranch and grabs a body bag. She keeps a handful around the medical lab for the people on the team. She doesn’t want Charlie to see what is going on, so she has April look after Charlie.
Thirty minutes later, the local coroner shows up at the house. Dr. Greene watches as Striker carries the body out to the vehicle for the two men that came to pick it up.
“You know something, we could use this to our advantage.” Striker watches as the guys from the coroner carries Month’s body out to the hearse.
“How so?” April looks at Striker.
“We let it slip where he is and capture the assassin. Since he is dead we can use him as bite now without worrying about him being killed.” Striker figures his death could solve two problems at once.
Graft Bioresearch, Manhattan, KS:
Parker removes the dirty clothes he has been wearing since living on the street. He was in a locker room along with several other people who had answered the flyer. He had been given the flyer by a man in a business suit. The ad had been asking for volunteers and would be well reimbursed for volunteering.
Once he was naked like everyone around him. They are all escorted to the showers and given wash rag and soap. They are told to wash their body and when they are done washing their bodies. They step out of the shower and are given a couple of shots from men and women dress in white suits.
Parker was given six shots, compared to everyone else who was given four shot. He wonders why he was given six shots. He follows everyone through a scanner and Parker felt a warm sensation at the spots he had been given his shots.
All of them were led to rooms that had clear walls, after being given green hospital scrubs to wear. There were three beds in each room. He was placed with two women. One had to be in her sixtises and look like she was ready to die. The other one he figured must be in her thirties but was coughing a lot.
When the lights were turned off, the corners of the room would light up to give them some light. Throughout the night, all three of them moan and sweat as the drugs and nanites that had been injected into their bodies went to work rearranging their bodies.
Parker felt his body burning up and changing as his bones crack and shatter as they rearrange themselves. The other women in the room were experiencing the same thing as he was. The old women’s heart gives out and dies. The other woman, blood erupts out of her mouth as she chokes on it.
Extra skin starts to form on Parker's body. It forms a flesh cocoon around his body. It starts drawing energy from the lights in the corners. They flicker as energy strikes the cocoon surrounding his body.
The doctors and medical staff watch as the people they had given shots to start changing, bursting into flames or just die. So, far out of the fifty people they were experimenting on, only four have shown any signs of being changed. They were curious about the teenager they put with the women. A flesh cocoon had formed around his body and was pulling electricity to it. They tried cutting the power, but the switch had been shorted open. The only other way to kill the power was to shut the building down.
“Let’s see what happens overnight.” Dr. Merritt wanted to see what all the shots that had been given to the teenager does to him.
“If you say so, Doctor.” Medical assistant Ortiz wonders what was inside the vials they shot the teenager up with.
Dr. Merritt examines the others. The dead bodies were being removed and taken to the crematory. He does examine a few before they are taken to be burned. One body looked like the serum that it had been given, had eaten the body from the inside out.
He makes a few notes about the bodies after taking pictures.
“Alright, dispose of the bodies and transfer the remaining four to examination room 2.” Dr. Merritt turns and walks out.
Striker, Larkin, Jerry, Peyton, and Jessie all come in hurt and bleeding. The mysterious stranger that had been sent to kill month had done a job on them. Striker was carrying Jessie cradled in his arms. There was a huge blood spot on her back where her wings had been sliced off.
Their mysterious assassin had used some sort of sword and cleanly sliced Jessie’s wings off. It also didn’t help that they had been trapped inside a total darkness room.
Just as they sprung their trap on the assassin, it went completely dark in the room. Stacy had been the only one who could sees everything, and Larkin could still smell and hear movement inside the darkness. Everyone else was blind as a bat. None of their optics or lights operated inside the darkness. Even Jessie’s electrical ability didn’t work inside the darkness.
Jerry couldn’t do anything with the darkness. The stuff seemed to resist his powers.
“Take her to medical.” Dr. Greene had been warned about the team’s condition on their way back from handling the assassin.
Peyton’s and Dr. Greene's own ability should cause new wings to grow on Jessie, but she’ll have to refrain from using her shrinking ability till her new wings grow back. Dr. Greene looks at the rest of the members. Both Larkin and striker were cut all to hell. They had at least thirty or more cuts on their body's. Larkin was missing the tip of one of his ears. Striker had a few deep cuts near his throat and on his neck. Peyton’s outfit was cut all to hell. Her breasts were hanging out with a nasty cut going across the top of them and her abdomen was exposed with a nasty cut going straight across it.
The side of Jerry’s face looked like Larkin had punched him. The bruise looked to be the size of Larkin’s fist.
“Who punched you?” She examines it quickly.
“Larkin did. I was standing near him when our assassin tricked him, and he hit me instead. I’m lucky I have a tough jaw.”
“See me later after I make sure Jessie is okay.” Dr. Greene leaves Jerry and heads toward medical to check on Jessie.
Charlie follows behind her mother. She’s been wanting to help more around the house and with her mother.
“Will Jessie be okay, mom?” Charlie was coping her mother by scrubbing her hands.
“We’ll see, sweetie. Now, put some gloves on.” Dr. Greene shows Charlie how to put the gloves on.
Charlie follows her mother into the operating room. She grabs a tray of sterilized operating tools and brings them over to her mother. She stands nearby and out of her mother’s way.
The rest of the team were tending to their wounds. Striker winces when the peroxide hits his cuts. Whatever that sword was made of, shouldn’t have been able to slice into his skin, but it did. It also hurt when it cut his skin. He spots Larkin pouring beer on his wounds.
“You know we have other stuff you can use.” Wasting beer wasn’t something Striker liked.
“I know. This is just faster.” Larkin takes a swig of beer before he pours some on his cuts.
“We’ll your cleaning the mess up.” April had gotten up when she heard voices down in the kitchen. Her bedroom was near the kitchen.
Stacy was holding the sword the assassin had. She could tell it was handcrafted and very old.
“I wonder how old this sword is?” She hadn’t been affected by it or the assassin’s abilities either. The shadows and darkness were her friends.
She could move easily through them. She could also see in them as well.
“I could tell you, but I’m afraid to touch that damn thing.” Jerry had a beer in his hand and had it press against the bruised on the side of his face.
“Here, this will work better.” April gives Jerry a ziplock bag of frozen peas from the garden.
April looks at everyone present in the kitchen “so, what happened to the assassin and where’s Jessie?”
“Month and the assassin have become one.” Stacy had an evil grin on her face.
“What do you mean by that?” April looked confused.
“Means she merged their bodies together with her ability. She left the assassin inside Month’s body.” That was the last scream anyone heard
from the assassin.
April cover her mouth and felt like she wanted to throw up. She manages to get herself under control.
“Where’s Jessie?”
“She’s down in medical. She lost her wing’s but with Peyton’s and Dr. Greene talents, she should get her wings back. If we need to, Jerry could
force her body to grow new wings.” Striker knew Jessie loved having wings.
“Well, I am going down and check on her.” April heads downstairs to medical.
Graft Bioresearch, Manhattan, KS:
Alarms start blaring around midnight. One of the people who had been changed sends the reinforced door of examination room 2 flying out of the doorway. A huge bear-like humanoid creature that stood almost seven feet tall was standing on the other side of it. Standing near him, was a woman who stood almost as tall as him with long golden blonde hair. She was naked as well and really built. Her chest was well proportion to her body. Her skin looked like she spent time tanning herself. Her body looked like she worked out a lot. It was well toned and firm. She was only a foot shorter then the humanoid bear person was.
They were standing in two inches of liquid and there were pieces of flesh floating on top of the liquid. Standing behind them was a naked humanoid White Heart Tiger person. He stood almost as tall as the golden-haired woman. He was carrying a naked, human child asleep in his arms. She had light brown hair that stopped midway down her back. She had fair skin and was resting her head against the humanoid White Heart Tiger chest. She looked rather young and could possiblely be in her preteens.
Several guards come rushing in carrying prodding sticks in their hands. They tried to taser the humanoid bear person, but they couldn’t get close to the door. The cattle prodders in their hands flew from their grips.
A smile forms on the woman’s face as she lifted one of her hands in front of her and sent the guards flying backward from the door. She steps out followed by the huge humanoid bear man. He was followed by the person that looked like a humanoid White Heart Tiger. He held the naked little girl protectively close to his body, protecting her as much as he could.
It was a fight all the way up to the nearest exit. The bear man had grabbed some of the soldier’s weapons and was using them. The woman seemed to be able to protect them and repel the soldiers and their weapons away from them.
They make it out of the facilities and ran several miles, before spotting a passing train. The bear man scooped the golden hair woman up, as he leaped into an empty coal bin as the train was rumbling down the track. The woman looks over at the Tiger to see how the young girl was doing.
In a growling inhuman voice "she's still unconscious."
She couldn’t believe that the fluids that had poured out of the flesh cocoon protecting the girl had given them the strength they needed to break out of the place. She had seen what they had planned for them when one of the medical personnel had touched her, but she was too weak to do anything.
They were going to be used to fight a war against supernatural creatures and be used for special black op’s projects. She and the other two guys knew they had to break out tonight and take the girl with them.
Bureau Of Abnormal Research and Development:
James King was sound asleep in his quarters when the alarm starts beeping in his quarters. He reaches over towards the nightstand for his eyeglasses. He picks up his communicator “what’s the emergency?”
“We intercepted a radio message from a research medical lab in Kansas. It seems they have been performing illegal human experiments and the creatures they created have escaped.” Alice couldn’t believe that they didn’t know about this company conducting experiments.
“I’m on my way.” James gets up and heads to operations.
Cypher brings the security feed up of Graft Bioresearch. He puts the security feed up on the main screen. In a computer-generated voice “this is what I was able to recover from their security feed.”
James and a dark-skinned female Catwoman stand next to him. The two of them watch the escape of a humanoid, male bear person, a six-foot-tall golden hair woman, a young human girl, and a humanoid male White Heart Tiger.
“What do you make of them, Serina?” James glances to the Dark Female cat woman.
“I’ve never seen them before or heard rumors about them. Cypher, can you dig into that companies computers and find out who they are?”
Serina wanted to know if the company created them.
Cypher’s eyes glow as he starts infiltrating and searches through Graft Bioresearch computers. The alien computer part of him has no problem going through their firewalls and such. The human side of his body was trying to make sense of everything. He finally manages to comprehend the information. He puts it up on the main screen the information he managed to retrieve.
“I thought those items were destroyed or buried.” James looks at the advance medical tubes and test tubes that had been removed from Dr. Victor Evans secret lab.
“They must have found the dear doctor’s secret lab.” Serina couldn’t believe they found the dam lab. Her cousin Aesael said that she and her friend Ansger had sealed the place.
“That means the HSL gave them the location of it or they retrieved the equipment and sold it to the bioresearch company.” James was really starting to hate the HSL and the Hunter organization.
“Do you want me to contact Striker and his team?” Beverly turns around from her monitor to look towards James and Serina.
“Yes, but let me talk with him first.” James walks over towards his desk, while Beverly dails Striker’s number.
Striker’s Ranch:
Striker was in bed sound asleep when the phone in his bedroom starts ringing. He reaches over towards it “Hello?”
“Striker, this is James. I have a mission for you, Larka and Stacy. We have a code 7 situation.”
“Who created others like us?” Striker had turned on his bedside light.
“A bioresearch company in Kansas. Their creations managed to escape and are hiding out at an old hotel called the Royal. We don’t know what their abilities are yet, but just from the security footage, we got. The golden hair woman among them seems to be telekinetic, there’s a barman among them that seems to posse super strength, there’s a Tigerman and it seems he is the guardian of a young girl.” James was looking at the images on the main screen.
“Do you know what the Tiger person can do?” Striker had been writing down everything.
“Don’t know yet. Look, bring these people back to your ranch and be gentle with them. They have already been victimized and experimented
on. I don’t know if they volunteered for it or if it was forced on them.” James wanted Striker to use kid gloves with dealing with them.
“Alright, send the helicopter to the ranch to get us.” Striker gets up out of bed.
James nods to Serina to send Frank to pick Striker and his people up.
“It’s on the way, Striker. Good Luck.”
“Thanks.” Striker ends the phone call and goes to get Larka and Stacy.
Larka was passed out in his favorite chair in the living room. He had been watching an old war movie when Striker had gone to bed. There was a beer bottle dangling in his right hand.
“Larka, wake-up. We have a code 7.” Striker knew better than to try and shake Larka.
Larka snorts as his eyes opened. All the cuts he had come back with from the fight had been healed by Peyton.
“What are we dealing with now?” Larka stands up and slips his sword and gun belt on.
“A Bearman, a White Heart Tiger, a woman with telekinetic abilities and a young girl.”
“Who else is going with us?” Larka picks the beer bottle up that had been dangling from his hand while he was asleep and finish it off.
“Stacy is coming with us. Her abilities will come in handy.” Striker could understand why James was sending Stacy with them.
“You called?” Stacy comes walking through the sliding glass doors from outside.
“Yeah, I need you for a mission. Are you up to it?” Striker looks at Stacy.
“I’m game. I was just recharging my energies out in the moonlight.” Stacy loved the full moon that was high up in the sky.
After twenty minutes the helicopter lands in the back of the ranch. Striker, Larka, and Stacy head towards it.
The Royal Hotel a Few Days Earlier:
Sally looks at her new body and couldn’t believe she had been transformed into a huge Bearman. She was no longer a woman at all. It didn’t bother her too much, because she was tired of being raped and treated like shit on the streets. Now, she had the strength to fight back at her attackers.
She looks at the golden hair woman and couldn’t believe, she uses to be a man. He had been in the cell next to her’s when she heard screams coming from the cell.
“Enjoying your new body?” Sally had watched as the woman examined herself in front of the full mirror.
“Actually, yes. What was in those shots they gave us?” Roger couldn’t believe he had been turned into a beautiful woman.
He had a nice figure and pointed ears, like an Elf out of the Dungeon & Dragons game books he used to own. He looked just like the character he uses to play a long time ago. He also likes the fact that he had telekinetic abilities as well.
He looks over towards the sleeping little girl “I wonder what her abilities are and what she use to look like?”
“I don’t know, but I have to say I like my new self.” Bruce loved how he looked and was built.
He has always loved cats and admired their strength and agility. He would spend hours at the zoo watching them. The cat form he was turned into, was a cat he only has read about in books and on the computer.
“So, what do we do now?” Roger looks at the two guys standing near her.
“Well, for now. I think we should lay low. We were lucky to find this deserted hotel. We were also lucky that the thrift store we broke into didn’t have an alarm on their back door.” Bruce looks over towards the Bearman and the woman.
“True. I’m concerned about that child. She’s been unconscious since we escaped.” Roger walks over and checks the little girl.
She places her slender hand on the girl's forehead. Her forehead felt hot “I think she is running a fever. We need to bring her temperature down.”
“Well, it’s a good thing you managed to get the power and water running to this place.” Sally was glad that they had power and water.
“Let’s run a bath for her and dump some ice in it and see if that helps.” Roger scoops the young girl up and takes her to the nearest room to the lobby.
“While you're doing that. I’ll see about getting us some food.” Bruce heads towards the door.
“Be careful and don’t be seen.” Sally looks towards him.
“I will.” Bruce leaves the hotel and goes looking for a place to steal food from.
Roger goes about tending to the young girl. The girl did move when they put her into the cold water. After a few minutes, the girl's temperature starts to drop rapidly.
“It seems that this was what she needed.” Roger felt the girls head again and she was doing better.
An hour later, Bruce comes back with several boxes and bags of food. Roger and Sally look at him “where did you get all that?”
“There were several Walmart 18-wheelers parked and waiting to be unloaded. So, I went ahead and opened a few. Don’t worry, I got us a
bunch of box and cans items. I wasn’t sure about me and you. So, I got some fresh meat as well.” Bruce had looked towards Sally.
“Thanks. You know, we need to come up with new names for us.” Bruce didn’t know the names of the others.
“Let’s do that later.” Sally grabs a steak and bites into it.
Parker opens his eyes after a few days of being in the ice-cold water. He spots a humanoid black and white tiger man looking down at her.
“Ah! You are finally awake kiddo. How do you feel?” It was Bruce’s turn to watch the young girl.
“Comfortable.” Parker notices he was in a tub filled with ice-water.
“Comfortable? How can you say comfortable?” Bruce sticks his hand into the water and a shiver travels though out his body.
“Because the water feels nice to me.” Parker sits up out of the water.
“Let me get you a towel and something to put on.” Bruce stands up off the chair he had been sitting in and walks into the bedroom of the hotel room they were in and grab a towel for Parker.
Sally and Roger were outside the hotel walking the grounds. Roger loved his new body and Sally was learning more about being a male Bearman. She was thinking about calling herself Baloo after the male bear from the Disney cartoon TaleSpin.
Parker looks at his new body while he stood dripping in the tub. He had shrunk in height and had changed gender as well. He was no longer a man, but a little girl that stood four and half feet tall. He had light brown hair that stopped half way down her back. He notices he had fair skin.
He wonders what his eyes looked like.
The black and white stripe tiger man shows back up with a huge fluffy towel. He wraps it around her body and lift her up out of the tub.
“Are you sure, you don’t feel the coldness from the ice-water?”
“Nope!” Parker holds the towel closed around her naked body.
“Well, it must have been due to something that changed you, like it did the rest of us.”
“How many are there of us?” Parker was curious.
“Just four of us. There’s Baloo, Riveraka, me and you now.” Bruce couldn’t believe that Sally and Roger had changed their names.
Parker walks into the hotel room they had placed her in. She looks at the place and even though it looked cleaned, it looked old to her. She
thinks about how she would like the room to look and the whole room changes into what she wanted.
Bruce felt the fur on his arms and neck stand on end and watched as the room changed. He felt energy in the air and watched as everything changed.
‘Wow! Did you do that?” Bruce looks down at Parker.
“I guess so, I was thinking about how I would redesign this room and it changed.” Parker was surprised that the room looked just like he saw it.
“Hhhmm, I think your abilities are neat.”
“What are your abilities?” Parker looks up at Bruce, because he was several feet taller than her.
An evil smile appears on his tiger face “I’m extremely strong, I can run faster than a car can move, and my claws can cut through any material so far.”
“How far can they extend out?” Parker was curious.
“About a foot.” Bruce extends them out to their maximum.
“Cool, so what are we doing?” Parker thinks of some clothes he would like to wear.
The towel he has wrapped around his body changes into a pink romper. He remembered seeing his cousin wear something like what he changed his towel into. Including a pair of panties underneath the romper.
Bruce was keeping his eyes on Parker and saw the towel she had on change into a pink romper. She looked so young wearing the romper.
“You’re getting the hang of how your abilities work.”
“Yes, but it doesn’t work on my hair. I thought about it being dry and, in a ponytail, but my abilities won’t work on it.” Parker was surprised by that.
“Maybe your abilities don’t work on living material?” Bruce was just guessing.
“Maybe.” Parker climbs up on one the two beds in the hotel room.
Bruce walks over to the door and open it. It was the closets to the main entrance. He sniffs the air and could detect the pheromones Riveraka left in the air and the musk Baloo left. He could hear them in the main hallway talking.
Parkers stomach growls rather loudly. She was feeling extremely hungry.
Bruce turns his head to look at her. He had a smile on his face “hungry?”
“Yes, is there any food in this place?” Parker hopes there is.
“Yes, let me go and get you something to eat.” Bruce walks out of the room and closes the door.
“Okay!” Parker watches as Bruce walks away.
While he’s gone, Parker gets up and walks over to the mirror to see what he looked like. He couldn’t believe the face looking back at him.
There was a young child’s face looking back at him. She had a cute button nose and almond shape eyes with green pupils. The thing was, his eyes seem to be made up several different colors of green. It wasn’t just one color but varies colors of green.
Parker moves aside her long light brown color hair and saw her ears were slightly pointed. She turns her head more to look at them. While she was looking at her ears, there was a knock at her door.
“Enter!”
She turns towards the door and let her hair drop and cover her ears. She felt that the texture of her hair felt like silk. She couldn’t believe how silky and light it felt.
Riveraka walks into the room. She had spotted Bruce as he walked by her and wanted to see how the girl was feeling. She closes the door behind her and looks at the young girl.
“How are you feeling?” She sits down on the second bed.
“Okay, I just can’t over that I’m the youngest and smallest of all of us. You’re as tall as Bruce.” Parker noticed that right away.
“Well, believe it or not. I was never that tall in the first place. Whatever that lab did to us or put inside of us, it has changed us.” Riveraka has
been playing around with her ability and trying to master it. So, far she had some control of it.
“Did whatever they use on us change your gender like it did mine?” Parker was curious.
“Yes, whatever was put inside of me, took the organs and everything from the three women in my cell and put them inside me. It rebuilt my
whole entire body.” Riveraka loved what they did to her body.
“Are you responsible for freeing me?” Parker didn’t know how she got free.
“Yes, along with Baloo’s help. We got everyone out.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. I think I feel Bruce coming back with your food. We’ll talk later.” Riveraka gets up and walks out of the hotel room.
Baloo was standing on the roof looking out around the place. He thought he saw some movement coming from directly in front of the motel. He adjusts the binoculars that Parker created for him. He spots two figures coming towards their location. One person was dressed as a soldier and was well built. The other person walking beside him looked like a humanoid wolf. He was like himself and Bruce.
He watches as they came closer to the motel. He picks up the walkie talkie they had been using “guys, we have company.”
“How many?” Bruce was curious.
“Just two for now.” That’s all Baloo could see.
“I’m on my way, Baloo. See if you can keep them occupied?” Riveraka starts heading towards the front of the motel.
Larka was walking next to Striker “do you think they know we are here?”
“Yes, they know you guys are here. They have a lookout on top of the roof of this hotel.” Stacy had jumped from one shadow to another shadow and was standing next to the motel itself.
“No one was asking you, spook.” An evil smile appears on his face.
“At least I don’t have to wear a flea collar, dog breathe.” Stacy didn’t like being called spook.
Baloo jumps down from the roof and land in between them and the motel. He looks at them and wonders who they were “who are you and why are you here?”
Stacy felt the ground shake when the bear-man landed on the asphalt in between the motel and her team. The only weapon the bear-man had
in his hand, looked like a huge double-bladed battle ax from some sort of fantasy movie.
Striker and Larka stop before the bear man “I’m Striker and this is my friend, Larka. We heard some people had escaped a hospital and came out to investigate the matter.”
“Do you work for the hospital?” Riveraka comes walking out and stands next to Baloo.
She informed Bruce and he was standing by, just in case they needed him. She had gotten Parker to make weapons for them. Baloo liked his ancient battle-ax. She had a sword that was extremely strong and a set of guns as well. Bruce had a set of guns he could use. His primary job was to protect Parker.
“No, we don’t work for the hospital. All me and my friend care about is asking you and your people to trust us and come back with us to our
place in Texas. You can meet others that are like you.”
“What do you mean like me and my friends?” Riveraka was being cautious.
“He means like me and a few others that have unique abilities.” Stacy walks out of the shadows. She figures by exposing herself, she might be
able to convince these people that they meant no harm.
Riveraka and Baloo jumped when they heard a female voice and then when they saw that female walking out of the shadows. They look at her
and notices she is wearing a tight bodysuit that outlines her body. She had on some sort of cloak and a hood that hide her face.
“We’re you thinking about ambushing us?’ Baloo was upset that someone managed to get the drop on him.
“Not unless you attacked us first.” Larka had an evil smile on his face.
“If you don’t mind me asking, where are the other two members of your group?” Striker wanted to make sure they had everyone.
“Inside, we have a ten-year-old girl with us.” Riveraka wonders if they were going to have a problem with Parker.
“All let’s go inside to talk about this. What is the name of the child?”
“Parker.”
“Is the child male or female?”
“Female, will that be a problem?”
“No, it won’t be a problem.” Stacy was glad. Charlie will have someone her age to play with.
“Follow us.” Riveraka and Baloo turn to head inside the motel.
Just as they are walking inside, gunfire erupts near them. Several bullets hit the ground near them. Stacy turns around and spots several people in SUV coming towards them.
“Guys, we have company.” Stacy swaps the magazines out of her gun with her real ammo.
Larka swaps his ammo out and prepares for combat and shooting back at the people in the SUV. He watches as Stacy starts running towards the SUV. He just shakes his head as he runs with her.
Striker watches as Larka and Stacy head towards the oncoming SUV’s.
Striker pulls his guns and switches ammo as well. He fires past Larka and Stacy. He manages to hit the windshield of one of the SUV’s coming towards them.
Stacy phases into the second SUV and knocks the driver out. She grabs the steering wheel and whips it to the left, causing the SUV to flip sideways. She phases again as she passes through the SUV. She moves away from the crashed SUV and shots the gas tank of the SUV.
Larka managed to stop the other SUV and pull several people out to interrogate. He looks down at them and noticed they had ordinary body armor on. Their weapons were M16’s.
Riveraka and Baloo watch as the three newcomers handle the two SUV’s that had been shooting at them. They were impressed by the woman and what she did. They wonder where she got her abilities.
As for the other two, they were convinced that they didn’t mean any harm to them. They wonder why these guys operated out of Texas?
“Is everything okay, out there?” Bruce was concerned because he and Parker were hearing gunfire.
“Everything is fine, Bruce. The new guys are handling a problem that has developed.” Riveraka kept watching the three individuals.
“So, why do I hear gunfire?” Bruce stands by Parker in her room.
“Because there are two black SUV’s out here firing at us.”
“Damn! You don’t think it’s set up, do you?”
“No, the group that was talking to us is fighting against them and they aren’t pulling any punches.” Riveraka watched as Larka pulls several unconscious black dress men from the damaged SUV.
“So, what is the plan?” Bruce wonders should he grab his and Parkers things.
“I’m going to take them up on their offer. That is if you and Parker don’t have a problem with it.”
“We’ll be out front in a few minutes. I’m going to miss this motel.” Bruce was getting to like having a motel to themselves.
“I know. I like it as well.” Riveraka was going to miss the motel.
Larka, Striker, and Stacy come walking back towards Riveraka and Baloo. Larka was dragging two unconscious people in black bodysuits with him. Stacy had an unconscious person she was pulling behind her as well. Striker had some gear he found in the damaged SUV’s that showed that some trackers had been placed in the people they came to investigate.
Striker holds the scanner out towards the two people in front of him and scans them. He moves it over their body until he finds where the tracker had been inserted at.
“Sir, can you hold your left arm up, please.” Striker was getting a strong reading from the bear man’s left arm.
“It’s Baloo.” As he raises his arm up.
Striker places the scanner in the armpit of Baloo. The signal beeps loud “Stacy, do you think you can remove the tracker?”
“Shouldn’t be a problem.” Stacy walks over and phases her hand into the armpit of Baloo.
She feels something that shouldn’t be there and pull it out. When she has her hand out of Baloo’s body. She opens her hand and a small clear grain of rice was laying in her hand.
“Man, they low jacked you like they do pets.” Larka has seen that device before.
Striker moves over to Riveraka and scans her body. It took a little bit longer, but he found her tracker implanted in her right breast.
“Sorry about that.” Stacy reaches inside and finds the tracker between the tissue of the breast and Riveraka’s rib cage.
“You might want to call your other members out, so we can scan them.” Striker looks at the one Stacy pulled out of Riveraka.
“Bruce, come on out with Parker. Everything is safe now.” Riveraka didn’t know that they had been tagged like pets.
Striker, Larka, and Stacy spot a humanoid tiger man walking towards them. Walking beside him was a little girl with long brown hair and wearing a pink romper.
“She looks so cute.” Stacy couldn’t believe how cute the little girl looked.
Riveraka just smiles at Stacy’s comment. Wait till she learns how old Parker really is.
“This is Bruce and his ward, Parker.”
Striker looks at Parker and Bruce “why is she your ward?”
“To be honest with you, I really don’t know. But it seems the tiger aspect of me doesn’t like being away from her too long.”
“Did the two of you know each other before you were turned into what you are now?” Larka was curious.
“No, we never met before.” Bruce looks down at Parker.
“If you don’t mind, I’m going to scan you two and see if you have been low jacked like your friends.” Striker steps in front of Bruce and scans him.
Parker watches as what she guesses is the leader of the group scans Bruce. She watches as he stops on the right-hand side of Bruce.
“I think I found it. Can you raise your right arm please?” Striker looks at Bruce.
“Sure.” Bruce’s raises his right arm.
Striker puts the scanner in his armpit, and it beeps loud “here it is. Stacy, if you would, please.”
Striker moves out of the way, so Stacy could stand where he was. Just as Stacy was reaching towards Bruce’s armpit.
“What is she doing?” Parker was curious about Stacy.
“I’m reaching inside to grab the tracker.” Stacy’s hand phases into Bruce’s body.
Parker watches with fascination as Stay’s hand goes into Bruce’s armpit. Her hand comes back out without any discomfort to Bruce.
“Do you want to see what I pulled out?” Stacy was looking down at Parker.
“Yes, ma’am.” Parker was curious.
Stacy opens her hand and exposes the same type of tracker she pulled out of Baloo and Riveraka. Parker reaches for it and holds it in her small hands. Her ability tells her everything about it. A second one forms in her hand.
“Okay, how did she do that?” Larka was curious. Striker just observed what Parker did.
“She has the ability to make or change anything that isn’t organic,” Bruce answers Larka’s question.
“That’s like Jerry’s ability.” Stacy looks at Striker.
“Who’s Jerry?” Baloo looks at Stacy for an answer.
“Jerry is another one of our teammates. You’ll meet him when we get back to the ranch.” Larka looks back at Baloo.
Striker tries to scan Parker, but the scanner goes dead. He looks at Parker “are you doing this?”
“No, sir.” Parker wasn’t using her abilities to mess with the scanner.
“She might have a secondary ability we haven’t discover yet.” Bruce was curious why the scanner wouldn’t work on Parker.
“Hopefully your ability won’t interfere with our helicopter.” Striker sends the signal to come and pick them up.
“Why don’t you go and get your things. Our ride should be here within the next few minutes.” Larka looks at the group.
“We don’t have much.” Riveraka and her group head inside the motel and gather their stuff.
Twenty minutes later, the helicopter arrives and pick them up.
Parker and Bruce’s Room:
Parker was sound asleep on top of Bruce’s chest. She could feel his arm holding onto her tiny waist. Her face was press into the small of his shoulder and neck. She couldn’t fall asleep last night unless Bruce held her.
Lately, Parker has been finding it hard to recalls a thing from his past life as a male. It was like the memories were slowly disappearing. He hasn’t told anyone yet, but he gets the feeling that Bruce knows. The other thing he was discovering about himself, was that he didn’t like it when Bruce wasn’t around him. He felt safer and more secure with Bruce near him.
She was half asleep last night when they arrived in Texas. Bruce had to undress her and put the nightgown she was currently wearing on her before he laid her down in bed. She didn’t fall completely asleep until Bruce laid down next to her.
She wiggles some, as she makes herself comfortable on top of Bruce’s chest.
Kitchen:
Peyton stumbles into the kitchen and smelled fresh coffee brewing. She spots Larka and Striker in there drinking coffee and eating some of the donuts April made yester morning. She grabs her coffee cup out of the cabinet and pours some coffee into her cup. She adds cream and sugar to her coffee. She couldn’t understand how Larka and striker could drink their coffee straight black.
Larka watches Peyton as she stumbles about around the kitchen. An evil grin appears on his face as he thinks about messing with her. He notices she wasn’t fully awake yet.
Striker looks at his old friend “rough night, last night?”
“You could say that. Jessie was restless.” As she takes a sip of her coffee.
“How is she doing, since Jerry fixed her wings?” Strike knew Jessie loved to fly.
“She’s doing better and acting a little stranger as well.”
“Oh? How so?” This piqued Larka’s interest.
“She’s acting a little different, then she did before her wings were cut off.” Peyton didn’t know how to describe what Jessie did last night.
Both men had puzzled looks on their faces. They knew Peyton and Jessie slept together and had sex with one another, but what could Jessie be doing now?
“Okay, I’ll bite. What has she done now?” Larka was curious.
“She crawled up inside my uterus and is currently taking up resident there.” Peyton felt Jessie as she crawled up inside her vagina last night.
She hadn’t stopped there either, she then crawled up inside her uterus, as she pasted her cervix opening. At first, she didn’t feel anything, but now she was feeling felt a slight weight in her uterus. It wasn’t uncomfortable or causing any pain, just Peyton could feel the weight.
“That’s strange?” Larka had a puzzled look on his face.
“I agree. Why would she do something like that? Wouldn’t the environment in your uterus make it uncomfortable for her to be there?” Striker
figures the conditions inside the human body had to be a little weird, especially a woman’s body.
“Who knows. I’ll ask her when she comes out.” Peyton takes a sip of her coffee.
Charlie comes walking into the kitchen and climbs up on Striker’s lap. She looks up at him as she sits on his lap. She was asleep last night when the new people arrived.
Striker looks down at Charlie as she sat on his lap. He has come to look at Charlie as his own daughter.
“Did you sleep well, last night?”
“Yes, sir. Mom is still asleep.” Charlie knew her mother got in late last night.
“I know. So, what would you like for breakfast?” Striker looks down into Charlie’s mousey eyes.
“Mmm….” She looks over towards the cabinet to see if April bought more Lucky Charm cereal for her.
“I think she wants her favorite cereal.” April comes walking in and over to the cabinet.
She grabs Charlie’s cereal bowl and pours her favorite cereal in it. She also fixes her a glass of orange juice as well.
“Here you go, kiddo.” April puts Charlie’s bowl of cereal and juice next to Striker’s seat.
Striker lifts Charlie up and places her on the barstool next to him. He ruffles her hair afterward.
“Thank you, Aunt April.” Charlie smiles at April before she starts eating.
“You’re welcome, kiddo.”
April looks at Peyton, Larka and striker “are any of the newcomers awake yet?”
“Nope, they are still in their bed.” Larka would have heard if any of them were moving around.
“What do you think is the relationship between that tiger person and that young girl?” April had spotted how the little girl stayed near the tiger person.
“Don’t know, I’ve noticed the tiger guy doesn’t like letting her leave his sight.” Larka spotted that last night.
“What young girl?” Charlie stops eating her cereal to look at April and Larka.
“The that arrived last night, pipsqueak. She came with the tiger guy that came in while you were asleep.” Larka ruffles Charlie’s hair.
“Is the Tiger man similar to you?” Charlie was curious.
“Yes, he’s similar to me and you.”
“He won’t hurt me, will he?” Charlie looked nervous.
“No one is going to hurt you, sweetheart. We won’t allow it.” April places a kiss on Charlie’s cheek.
“Where’s Jerry?” Peyton hadn’t seen Jerry this morning.
“He took the truck to get some supplies.” Stacy walks through the sliding glass door.
She had her tights and leotard on and looked to be sweating. She walks over to the refrigerator and grabs cold bottle water.
“We thought you were still in your room.” Larka looks at Stacy and knew the morning time wasn’t her favorite time to be up.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I went for a jog. The Baloo fellow and the elf lady are out on the back perimeter running.”
Stacy jogged past them on her way back to the house. She takes another swig of her cold water. The Baloo fellow was having a hard time jogging and so was the elf lady, so they decided to walk the rest of the way.
A few minutes after Stacy arrived in the house. The Baloo fellow and the elf lady walks into the house. They spot everyone in the kitchen, along with a little mouse girl eating cereal and sitting between the housekeeper they met when they arrived last night and Striker.
There was another woman they hadn’t met yet sitting near Larka and drinking coffee. Striker had informed them that they had several other members at the house.
“Riveraka, Baloo, I would like to introduce Charlie here to you. She’s Doctor’s Green adopted daughter. Also, this is Peyton. She is one of our
medics. Her partner seems to be still in bed.” April didn’t know Jessie was up inside of Peyton.
“Who was the blonde hair man we saw this morning leaving?” Baloo was curious.
“That was Jerry. He’s the one we told you about, who has abilities like Parker.” Stacy takes another sip of her coffee.
“So, what do you guys normally do around here?” Riveraka was curious with all these people and creatures in one house on what they do.
“When we're not on missions or assignments. We trained so, everyone is operating as a team. We also, help you train to learn more about
your abilities. Larka and I do your physical training. Jerry trains you on your abilities. If you hurt yourself, Peyton and Doctor Green patch you up. Charlie helps her mother with your wounds. As for April, she maintains the house and assigns chores to everyone. She has final say on what can or can’t be done in the house. So, I would listen to her. This is also a working ranch, so there are things around here that need to be maintained and cleaned.”
“We can respect that. You said sometimes we would have missions or assignments. What type of missions or assignments are there?”
“Sometimes our missions and assignments vary. We do everything from rescuing people who have been kidnapped to protecting diplomats or
special witnesses that have come forward. I get the assignments and assign the most qualified individuals for the missions.”
“Do you ever get assassination or elimination missions?” Baloo was curious.
“There are only three of us that do that type of work. Me, Larka and Stacy. They are never given to others.” Striker has been on a few assassination missions
April notices the looks on the two new recruits. She figures she should do something to distract them.
“What would you guys like for breakfast?”
Baloo and Riveraka tell April what they would like. They watch as she goes about making their breakfast. While they wait, they think about what Striker and his teammates told them. They watch as Charlie helps April after she finishes her breakfast.
Peyton excuses herself and heads towards the bathroom. Just as she walks in and shuts the door, Jessie comes flying out from between her legs and grow.
“Okay, spill. Why did you crawl up inside my body?” Peyton was a little upset because of Jessie's actions.
“I don’t know. All I do know I feel better after being in you.” She walks over and stands on her tiptoes and gives Peyton a kiss.
Peyton returns the kiss and could smell Jessie. She stops kissing her “in the shower young lady.”
Jessie just smirks and get the water going. Peyton and she held each other in the shower.
Jessie was sitting on Peyton’s shoulder watching the new people work out, under Larka’s instructions. The fellow named Baloo was having a hard time with the exercise. The elf lady Riveraka was having a hard time, but she was doing better than the Bearman. The one that uses to be named Bruce was now using the name Caspin.
He had heard the name and asked the team to call him it. Charlie was watching a cartoon in the living room when he heard the name. The cartoon was about a bunch of humanoid cat people. He also noticed that Charlie was spoiled by all the members. He met Dr. Green and saw that she let her daughter help her.
The one named Parker decided to use the name Tech. She remembered it from an old cartoon she uses to watch when she was younger. She was with Dr. Green being examined. It seemed that whatever caused her to age backward was affecting her mind as well. She was finding it difficult to remember what happened to her and what she has learned from her past.
“Come on, you lazy sack of flesh. You have fifteen more laps to go. What you don’t finish today, you’ll make up tomorrow.” Larka watched as
Baloo picks the pace up.
“Larka isn’t being easy on the three of them.” Jessie had a smile on her face.
“Nope, they need to get used to their new bodies. Caspin is doing fine and Riveraka is holding her own, but Baloo needs to pick the pace up. Charlie could beat him in a foot race.”
“Hell, she can beat me in a foot race. She’s quick for someone her age.” Jessie chased after Charlie and couldn’t catch her. The only way she could catch the little mouse girl was to fly after her.
“Well, I hope she and Tech can work together. I wonder why Tech is losing her intelligence?” Peyton was curious.
“Dr. Green might know. Also, have you seen how Caspin is very protective of her?” Jessie noticed that right away.
“I did and I think there’s a bond between them. There’s no one here that can prove it, but Striker believes that there is.” Peyton had a
conversation with Striker about the two of them.
“Alright, break for lunch. You have half-n-hour to eat and relax. April has everything laid out for you.” Larka knew April would have lunch set up for the newbies.
Riveraka looks at Larka when she walks by “you’re a sadist trainer, do you know that?”
“Ah, sweet words to my ears, darling. Now, go and eat some lunch. Because if you thought this was hard, you’ll love what I plan to do to you after lunch.” An evil grin appears on Larka’s wolf face.
Riveraka just turns around and head inside the house. Caspin follows behind her. Baloo was already inside fixing a huge plate. April had to do some research to find out what all three newbies could and couldn’t eat.
Striker comes walking over to Larka “so, how soon do you think we can put them in the field?”
“Too soon to say. They still have a lot of training to get through.” Larka wouldn’t want to take them out as they are.
“Okay, well, keep training them and keep me up to date.” Striker feels Charlie jump up on his back.
A smile appears on his face, as he takes her inside to eat.
The Next few months the newbies are trained in the use of their abilities and other skills. Tech slowly loses her memories, but learns new ones more along her age. Charlie helps her adjust and show her what it is like to be a kid again.
Striker looks at the calendar on his office wall and sighs. It was that time of year again. He leans back in his chair and closes his eyes as the faces of his friends and family members surface. Faces he thought he had forgotten over the years. He picks up his cell phone and makes arrangements for the private Learjet at his disposal, which is available and prepped.
Having secured the Learjet, Striker's next task is to arrange accommodations for himself, Larka, Peyton, Dr. Green, and April in Arlington, Virginia. It's a place that holds a special meaning for all of them, as it's where their friends and family are laid to rest. With this solemn duty fulfilled, Striker rises from his desk and exits the office, heading towards the kitchen to grab a beer, a small respite before the journey begins.
As he walks through the living room, he spots Ember and Charlie playing video games on the PS5 Larka had bought for the kids in the house. Sometimes, he and Larka would sit down and play on it. He spots Larka outside smoking a cigar.
Striker opens the sliding patio doors and steps outside and over towards Larka. He sits down in one of the lounge chairs and takes another sip of his beer.
“What brings you out here, boss?” As Larka reaches into the cooler, sitting by his lounge chair, he grabs a beer.
Larka opens the beer can and takes a big gulp, emptying almost half the liquid. He puts the can down and looks towards Striker for an answer to his question.
“You know what date it is in three days from now.” Striker looks towards Larka when he answers.
“Yeah, I do. We are the lucky ones, but I think our former comrades are.” Larka draws from his cigar and holds it in his mouth before blowing it out.
“Sometimes I wonder why we lived and why they died.” Striker takes a swig from his beer.
“Only fate can answer that question. I often think fate punishes us for what we did in our past.” Larka takes another draw from his cigar.
“Maybe, but I don’t think that is the case.” Striker leans back in the lounge chair, taking another swig from his beer can.
The two men sit silently, thinking about the people they have served with and lost. Striker has seen many good men and women die, and he knows Larka has seen his share of people die. The two enjoy the peacefulness as they lose themselves in their memories.
Jessie stretches as she gets up out of bed. She was still tired from staying up all night playing on the PS5. She walks out of the bedroom she shares with Peyton and over to the bathroom. She does her morning business and washes her hands afterward.
Once Jess washed her hands, she walked towards the kitchen and spotted Ember and Charlie playing on the PS5. She also spotted Larka and Striker outside and wondered what they were up to.
Jessie noticed it was one o’clock in the afternoon, and she was hungry. She found everything she needed to make herself a sub in the refrigerator, pulled it out, and set it on the counter. She starts making herself a giant sub sandwich.
As Jessie makes her sandwich, she wonders where Peyton, Stacy, and April are. She knows the others in their group are on a mission; even Parker has been assigned. She finishes making her sandwich, puts it on a paper plate, and grabs a small bag of chips April has been buying lately. She walks outside to join Larka and Striker.
“What’s up, dog face?” Jess sits down in a lounge chair near Striker.
Larka looks over at Jess. “Not much, how about you, shorty?” A smile appears on Larka’s dog face.
“Play nice, you two.” Striker looks at Larka and Jessie.
He still couldn’t get over Jessie’s powers' evolution. She no longer had butterfly-style wings, but like the wings the Disney fairies had. Even her hair has changed as well. It has become longer and fuller.
“Yes, Daddy.” Jess smiles sweetly towards Striker.
“Don’t expect me to call you daddy.” Larka takes a swig from his beer can and empties it.
He crushes the can in his hands and drops it in the cooler. He grabs another beer and pops it open.
“You know, I bet Lone Star Beer company is glad that pops here buy beer by the bulk.” Jess knew Larka, Striker, and sometimes her roommate Peyton could finish a twenty-four pack of beer in no time.
Striker and Larka drank the most beer. Sometimes, Baloo and Bruce helped out. Riveraka was a mead drinker and didn’t like beer. She made her own style of mead to drink.
Larka looks at Jess as she takes a bite from her sandwich. An evil idea pops into his head, but he sets it aside. He wasn’t that mean to do it.
“When you get to be as old as I am. You can drink all the beer you want, too, shorty.” Larka takes a swig from his beer can.
Striker shakes his head and finishes off his beer. He crushes the can and toss it into the cooler. He reaches over and takes one of Larka’s unopened beers.
“Are you guys planning on flying to Arlington, Virginia?” Jess takes a bite of her sandwich and watches Striker and Larka.
“Yeah, I will need you and Stacy to watch the ranch while we’re gone.”
“No problem. I know Dr. Green will take Charlie with her.” Jessie knew Charlie sometimes went with his adopted mother whenever she went out of town.
“True.” Larka knew Dr. Green might take Charlie with her this time.
Dr. Green’s uncle and cousin were buried in Arlington National Cemetery. So, she would want Charlie to know about her uncle and cousin.
“How are you doing after the changes to your body?” Striker looks at Jessie when he asks her.
“I’m doing better. My abilities are back to normal. I still couldn’t believe that my body underwent a mutation.”
“It could be that you’re evolving since you are getting older, shorty.” Larka loved teasing Jess.
“Keep it up, fuzz face.” Jessie causes her fingertips to crackle with energy.
“Jess.” Striker uses his father’s voice when dealing with Jess.
He knew Jess had a rough childhood and was still overcoming what was done to her. Plus, he knew Larka was teasing Jess. Larka had a soft spot for Jess.
Jess stops and goes back to eating her sub. She knows Larka likes her, and she likes Larka. She looks at him like an uncle.
Charlie sticks his head out of the house. “Mom and April need help bringing in the groceries.”
“Okay, Charlie.” Striker and Larka get up to go and help April, Dr. Green and Stacy bring the groceries in.
April, Dr. Green, Peyton, and Stacy were carrying large boxes of everything they bought at the store. Stacy was thankful that they parked under the carport. Even though she was covered up, she couldn’t withstand direct sunlight.
Stacy watches as Ember helps carry in the small items they bought. Ember was like her because she couldn’t withstand direct sunlight either.
“It’s about time you guys came out to help.” April spotted Striker and Larka step out of the house and walk over to the SUV to help.
“Had to put my cigar out since I know you hate them.” Larka looks at April with a smile on his face.
Between the six, they managed to unload everything the ladies bought. Peyton and Dr. Green put all the hygiene items away. That included the razors for Striker, Jerry, and the ladies to shave their legs. Also included were the maxi pads, tampons, and other feminine products the women of the house needed, plus what Dr. Green needed for their medical bay.
April and Peyton start putting away the groceries. Charlie helps them with that task. Stacy and Ember get to work putting away all the milk, beer, wine, and juice. They also put away anything that needed to go into the walk-in freezer.
Between the six of them, everything gets put away and reorganized. April, Peyton, and the children still need to go to the greenhouse and pick what vegetables and fruits they grew.
Since the women did the shopping, Striker and Larka cookout on the grill for everyone tonight. They waited until the sun went down so Ember and Stacy could sit outside with everyone without burning. Jessie was sitting next to Peyton. She made the potato salad under April’s watchful eyes.
As everyone is gathered and eating, Striker looks at everyone. “I’ve reserved a private Lear Jet for us and also made hotel reservations.”
“Do you think we’ll encounter anyone we know this year?” Dr. Green looks at Striker when she asks.
“Maybe I don’t know how many of my old units or Larka’s old units are still around,” Striker remembers running into members of his old unit last
year. A lot of them had health problems from the drugs used on them to turn them into super soldiers.
“It will be nice seeing Bart again if he shows up.” A smirk appears on Larka’s when he thinks about his old buddy.
Where Larka turned into something resembling a wolf, his buddy Bart turned into a humanoid bulldog. His head and face looked just like a bulldog's, but the rest of his body was human-looking.
“How many days will we be gone?” Dr. Green wanted to make sure she packed enough clothes for Charlie.
“Three days. That means Stacy will be in charge here until we return.” Striker looks towards Jessie to make sure she understands.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. Me teenager, Stacy grownup.” Jessie knew Stacy would be in charge. The last time Striker left her in charge was when he and the others were away. She got in trouble with the local police for being at a rave.
The rest of the evening, everyone enjoys the barbecue. Larka drinks too much and falls asleep in the lounge chair he was sitting in, which hasn’t been the first time. Charlie falls asleep on Dr. Green’s lap. She ends up taking Charlie into the house and putting her in bed.
Stacy and April help Striker clean up the leftovers and the patio. While they were doing that, Jessie used her abilities to gather up the trash and put it into the recycle bins. Striker has gotten them recycling as much as possible.
He’ll have Jerry use his abilities to break down everything into its natural components. Once everything is taken care of, everyone heads to their bedrooms and prepares to leave in the morning. Since April is always the first one up, she’ll wake Larka when she gets up.
Peyton wakes Jessie, and she gets out of bed and prepares to leave. She takes a shower and gets dressed in some comfortable clothes to travel in. While Peyton is getting ready, Jessie throws on a pair of tights and a sleeveless t-shirt. Since she wasn’t as developed as the other women in the house, she didn’t bother wearing a bra.
She grabs orange juice from the refrigerator and checks the SUV to ensure everything is fine. She notices that she’ll have to stop and fill the tank on the way back from the airfield. Striker, April, Dr. Green, Charlie, and Peyton start loading their luggage. Larka tosses an old army duffle bag into the back of the SUV.
“Where’s your uniform, dog face?” Jessie looks at Larka as he walks towards the driver's side of the SUV.
“I don’t have one. I was in a special unit that didn’t wear any uniform.” Larka climbs into the SUV.
“Hey, I’m supposed to drive.” Jessie stomps her feet.
“When you're older than me, I’ll let you drive. Now, get in the back seat with Charlie.” Larka didn’t trust anyone else driving skills.
Jessie does as she is told. She knows how Larka is when it comes to anyone else driving. He didn’t trust them, and he didn’t even trust Striker's driving.
Once everyone was in the SUV and secured, Larka started the SUV and drove down the long driveway. He turns onto the main highway and drives towards the private airfield they use sometimes. Most of the time, a helicopter came and picked them up at the ranch.
“Pig on the highway looking for speeders.” Jessie spotted a highway patrol cop car clocking people on the side of the highway.
“You be careful coming back, Jessie. No speeding.” Striker turns around to look in the back of the SUV.
“Yes, sir.” Jessie didn’t need another speeding ticket. If she got one, her license would be suspended, and she’d have to take a driver improvement course.
It took them about thirty minutes to arrive at the airport. A black Lear Jet was waiting for them. Jessie helped unload the SUV and hugged everyone as they boarded the plane. She watched the plane taxied down the runway and lifted off the ground.
Afterward, she gets in on the driver's side and adjusts everything for her small stature. She links her cellphone with Bluetooth and plays her favorite playlist as she drives home.
Charlie watches as the plane lifts off the ground and into the air. Dr. Green had dressed her in a lovely pink dress and white Maryjane-style sandals.
Larka watches as Charlie sits next to her mother. She has adapted to her new form since she has come to live with them. He was glad that he had been a good influence on her.
“How are you holding up, Peyton?” April looked over towards Peyton as she sat across from her.
“I’m doing okay.” Due to her scars, Peyton still hides half of her face with her hair. Jerry has managed to smooth a lot of Peyton’s scars out.
“Who do you think will show up from your old unit, Peyton?” Striker looks at his young friend.
“Maybe Mary Beth and her husband, Chuck. Both of them have relatives and friends from different units that are buried there.”
“It’s the price we pay so others can abuse their freedom. Sometimes, I wonder if the sacrifice we make is worth it.” April looks out the window of the plane.
“I know what you mean, April. Lately, this country is tearing itself apart. I wouldn’t say I like where we are heading. However, you have to remember. As soldiers, we swore to defend this country with our lives. That means we have to tolerate those who will destroy this country for their ego and greed.” Striker didn’t like the current politically charged environment in Washington, D.C., or across the country.
“He has already made plans for their team just in case Texas and a few other states try enforcing their new legislations on his people. They aren’t going to like how he and the others deal with them.
A few hours later, the Lear Jet landed at Reagan Washington. When they exited the plane, an SUV was already waiting for them. Larka checks the SUV over before loading everything and everyone into it.
The hotel that Striker made a reservation at wasn’t too far from the airport. Larka drives them over to it, and Striker checks them in. If he lets Larka, the hotel staff would get scared of him.
Charlie stays near her mother. Whenever they go anywhere, she feels nervous. She only trusted the people currently around her.
Striker and April share a hotel room. Larka gets his own because no one likes sharing a room with him. Dr. Green, Charlie, and Peyton share a room. After they are settled in, they walk to a nearby Greek restaurant for lunch. Larka gets strange looks from the patrons, but he ignores them.
Afterward, Dr. Green, Charlie, Peyton, and April go for a walk. Striker and Larka visit a friend who lives nearby, one reason Striker made reservations at this hotel. Charlie looks at everything as she walks with her mother. Sure, she got strange looks from people as they passed them. However, she was surrounded by the people who meant the most to her.
Striker and Larka pull up to a modern townhouse and park. They exit the SUV and walk up the walkway towards the townhouse's front door.
“Do you think he’s still here?” Larka knew that Andy had been having health problems ever since COVID-19.
“He’s still here.” Striker knocks on the door.
After a few minutes, the front door opens. An older Hispanic woman was standing in the doorway. She looks at both men. “Can I help you, gentlemen?”
“Yes, I wondered if Andy Summerfield was up to seeing some old friends.”
“Can I ask who is calling?” Lucia looked at both men. One looked strange and like a humanoid wolf, while the other was average-looking and had a military-style haircut.
“Colonel Joseph Striker and Major Rex Coldsmith.” Striker knew Larka didn’t use his birthname anymore, just like he didn’t, since he staged his death.
“One minute, please.” Lucia closes the door and walks off.
Larka was looking around and noticed a security camera was pointed towards them. He also spotted several other security cameras.
“You know, we have at least four security cameras pointed towards us?” Larka knew Andy took his security seriously.
“After everything he has done, I wouldn’t expect anything less.” Striker knew Andy used to be a highly trained agent like himself and Larka.
The front door opens. “Please come in, gentlemen.” Lucia steps aside to let the men into the house.
Once they were inside, she shut the door behind them. She then walked past them and escorted them to where Andy awaited them.
Larka and Striker were impressed with the decorations and pictures mounted on the walls as they were escorted to another room. After a few minutes, they were led into a massive room filled with books. Sitting behind a vast wooden desk was an older man in a wheelchair.
A smile appears on Striker’s face. He walks up to the desk and reaches his hand out towards the man. “It's good to see you still alive, major.”
A smile appears on Andy’s old, wrinkled face as he recognizes the two men who have just entered his study. It’s been almost a year since he last saw them. He shakes Striker’s hand.
“It’s good to see you again, Colonel.” Andy looks at how young Striker looks.
“I figure you would be dead by now, Blaster.” As Larka extends his hand towards Andy.
“You two, Larka. Unfortunately, I’m not as agile as I used to be.” Andy shakes Larka’s hand.
“What happened?” Larka was curious why Andy was in a wheelchair.
“Please sit, and I’ll tell you.” Andy motions to the two leather chairs in front of his desk.
Both men sit down and look towards their friend. Larka wondered why Andy had been in a wheelchair since their last visit.
“Would you gentlemen care for anything to drink?” Lucia looks at Larka and Striker.
“No, we’re fine. Thank you.”
Lucia looks towards Andy.
“I’m fine, Lucia. Thank you.”
“If you need anything, sir. Just push the remote.”
“Thank you, Lucia.” He watches as she leaves.
“So, what happened, Blaster?” Larka addresses Andy by his codename instead of his real name.
“The last mission I was on for the agency took a turn for the worst. I was lured to an empty building where I was supposed to meet my informant and the next thing I knew. The building was coming down around me. I don’t know what they used, but there was no warning or way out. By the time I was found, I was near death’s door. I woke up in an agency hospital hooked up to several machines.
I later learned after spending six weeks in the hospital. That my legs had been crushed, along with damage to my spine. I have no feeling below my waist.”
“None at all?”
“None at all, Larka.” Andy wishes he did.
“What about the drug they gave you? Didn’t it help?” Larka knew Andy had been part of the same program Striker and himself had been.
“All it did was age me more. After what happened to me, my body started aging rapidly. I’m now seventy years old, compared to being fifty years old. The drug wasn’t the same that Striker received.” Andy knew something was wrong when he started to age.
“I’m sorry to hear that, Andy.” Larka figured Andy felt cheated.
“Hey, I knew what I was getting involved in. At least I still have my marbles, unlike others from our units.”
“Man, I’m surprised at everything.” Striker knew the super-solider drug that the government created did different things to different people.
“So, what brings you to my place?” Andy had been surprised at their visit.
“I wanted to know if you wanted to ride with us to Arlington tomorrow?”
“Sure, I want to pay my respect to our old friends.” Andy knew a few soldiers laid to rest in the cemetery at Arlington.
“Good, we’ll be by tomorrow to pick you up then.”
“I’ll be ready. Now tell me what adventures you guys have been up to.”
Memorial Day:
April, Striker, Dr. Green, and Peyton dressed in their military uniforms. Striker had a bunch of medals on his uniform. Striker and Peyton both wore the Medal of Honor given to them. Peyton didn’t feel she deserved it, but Striker reminded her she did.
Larka was dressed in a fresh set of black Special Ops BDUs. His boots were highly polished, and he had several Cuban cigars. He also had his guns with him, and they were highly polished as well.
Peyton looks at Larka. “You don’t need to bring them along, Larka.”
“Hey, you got your uniform, and I got mine.” Lark puts his sunglasses on.
Charlie was wearing a lovely dress and low-heeled shoes. Her blonde hair had been styled, and she looked adorable.
“Is everyone ready?” Striker looks at everyone.
“Yes.” As April puts her arm around Striker.
He had his sunglasses on, and his uniform looked like it had been pressed. He led everyone down to the SUV. Larka got behind the steering wheel, and once everyone was inside the SUV, he drove them over to pick Andy up.
Striker and Peyton help Andy to the SUV. Once everyone is loaded in, Larka drives the group to Arlington cemetery. Larka looks at everyone as he parks the SUV.
“Since we're going to different parts of the cemetery, how about we meet back here in two hours or over at the Tomb of The Unknown Solider?”
“The Tomb sounds good.” Andy has always visited the soldiers on duty whenever he comes to the cemetery.
“Alright, two hours sounds good.” As Striker exists from the SUV.
Everyone gets out of the SUV and breaks off to visit different areas of the cemetery. April, Striker, Peyton, and Andy go to an area where all their friends are buried. April looks at the names of her friends who gave their lives for their country.
She places some seeds near their tombstones and causes them to grow. She knows she shouldn’t but these people meant a lot to her. She runs her fingertips across their names, as tears leak from her eyes.
Peyton had walked over to where members of her unit were buried. She pulls out a silver canter and opens it. “Here’s to you guys.” As she pours high-class whiskey on the tombstones of her friends.
Striker and Andy walk over to a bunch of tombstones they came to see. Andy looks at the names “All these men made the ultimate sacrifice.” Andy wishes they were still around.
“That they did.” Striker kneels before one tombstone.
“We come not to mourn our dead heroes but to praise them,” Andy recalls a quote he once heard.
“Our flag doesn't fly because the wind moves it, but because of the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it,” Striker recalls those words.
Dr. Green shows Charlie where their family members are buried. Charlie lays down some roses April grew when they arrived. She lays the rose on the tombstone. Charlie looked at all the surrounding tombstones and couldn’t believe how many people gave their lives for this country.
“Mom, is this what it means to serve your country?” Charlie looks at her mother.
“This is the price you may be asked to give, sweetie. All these people served this country so others could have their freedom.”
After a few hours, everyone meets up at the tomb. They watch as the soldier walks back and forth. Charlie stands next to her mother as tears start to slide down her cheek.
Dr. Green notices Charlie crying and holds her tight against her side. They stay for a while and leave after spending a few hours walking around the cemetery. Larka ends up carrying Charlie on his back. Her feet were getting tired.
While they are walking around the cemetery, Andy looks at the tombstones and hopes when it is his time to go. That he is permitted to be buried at the cemetery.
Later in the evening, Striker and Larka treat everyone to dinner. They end up going to a nice restaurant and going through a few bottles of wine. Dr. Green ends up driving the SUV and dropping off Andy at his townhouse.
The following day, Peyton, Dr. Green, and April take Charlie to Washington D.C. to visit some of the museums. They meet up with Striker and
Larka at the zoo and spend the day there.
The next morning, they check out and fly back home. All of them think about how their fellow soldiers paid the ultimate price.
