I had decided to use my free admission employee perk on one of my days off. As I was roaming around Epcot enjoying the countries in the international section, I noticed that Alice’s line was shorter than normal. Granted it maybe because we were in one of Alice’s breaks.
Let me back up a little bit, I have not properly introduced myself. I am Mike Smith, a cast member employed by the mouse in the character department, which means I am also a friend of a character. I usually am a chipmunk, but occasionally I have been a duck or the head mouse himself. They have not approved me to be a face character, which is perfectly fine with me. Sometimes I am a female fur character, I really don’t mind that. I have personal reasons why that is not an issue, but I will never tell anyone those reasons.
“What is a fur or face character?” I hear you ask. In fur, you are in a full bodysuit, and you are not allowed to talk. In a face character, other people can see your face, and you can talk to them.
Oh, good, here comes Alice. I peer at her to see if I can figure out who her friend is today. She nods to me in recognition as she walks by me. She might know who I am, but I can’t figure out who she is behind that makeup and color-changing contacts.
I waited for the two families in front of me to have their time with Alice before it was my turn. “Nice for you to join me today, Sir” Alice addressed me as she leads me in front of the Photopass photographer.
“Thank you, Alice,” I replied back in a posh young girl's voice. One our managers wouldn’t have a problem with Alice using.
Alice took a second, almost like she was fighting to stay in character. When she regained her composure, she asked, “Where are you visiting from?”
“From England,” I replied using the same voice, trying my hardest not to laugh. What I didn’t say was the word ‘New’ in front of the location.
Alice smiled, and then asked, “Would you like some pictures, L … Mike?”
“Yes please,” I quickly replied in my normal voice hoping that no one in line noticed that she knew my name without me giving it to her. I didn’t have a clue what she almost said before my name. Our managers would consider that breaking character, and she, and maybe myself, would be in big trouble if they found out.
After posing for the pictures, and offering the photographer my magic band I continued towards France for my ice cream which was my original destination.
Later that evening as I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, I heard a knock on the door. “Who is it?” I screamed out.
“Jennifer,” the disembodied voice replied back.
Looking down at the pink nightie I was wearing, I replied, “Let me get dressed.”
After a few seconds, Jennifer replied so quiet that I barely heard it, “the way you're dressed is fine, Laura. Let me assure you that I am alone, too.”
Hearing that secret name I didn’t know if I should allow my coworker in or not. I also hadn’t a clue how she knew that name. I was afraid of blackmail as I slowly with a shaky hand opened the door.
Jennifer came into the dorm room, and I shut the door quickly so no one could see me in my nightie, therefore giving my secret away.
“If you are here to blackmail me, do it quickly please,” I told her.
Jennifer with a shocked voice came over to me and hugged me. “Laura, I don’t plan on blackmailing you. I came to say you had me in stitches today with your voice during our interactions. I also came to ask a favor, something you are allowed to say no to.” She slowly leads me to the couch in the tiny room, that Disney provides their college program cast members.
“Back up here, I have a few questions, Miss Anderson!” I told her.
Jennifer sighed, “Ok?”
“How do you know about Laura?”
“By being naughty, and looking over your shoulder at your phone and laptop. Sorry.” Jenn’s face got bright red with embarrassment.
I was trying not to be upset with her because I needed more details, “Who else knows?”
“I haven’t told anyone in the few months I have known, and never heard anyone gossiping about you being trans. I have heard fellow cast members saying you must be gay, though. You know how this group can gossip, Laura.” Jennifer told me. “I really shouldn’t have peeked, but something about you drove me nuts, and I was crushing on you. I was trying to see if you had an S.O.” She continued with a red face again.
I asked with a shocked voice “was?”
“I still wouldn’t mind dating you, but you probably currently hate my guts,” Jennifer responded while quietly crying on my shoulder.
Using my Silvermist voice, I replied while patting her, “I don’t hate you, Dew Drop.” Switching to my normal voice, “I do have plenty of reasons to be upset at you, but I will get over that eventually. Now let’s continue on our questions. Miss Alice, I am assuming you were her friend today.”
Jenn just nodded and said “Yes, I was, you shocked me with your voice. You would make a good Alice or Wendy with that voice.”
“The mouse will never allow that! You know that you broke character today right?” I told my friend.
She pleaded innocence, “I did not… at least I hope I didn’t. I don’t need a demerit on my record.”
“You called me by my name, without me giving it to you,” I told her.
Her face fell, “Did anyone notice?”
“I for sure wasn’t going to tell anyone, and if your photographer or attendant didn’t bring it up, I doubt it.” I reassured her, then continued with “What were you going to say before my name?”
She thought hard as if she was rewinding the day, before meekly saying, “I am not exactly sure, maybe Laura.”
“Thankfully you didn’t,” I said glaring at her. I remember she had come to ask for a favor, “I seem to remember that you postponed my bedtime to ask for a favor.”
Slowly she said, “Is it possible for you to work for me?”
“When, why, and who are you supposed to be?” I asked.
Jennifer said “Next Friday, it is my birthday and my parents are going to be in town. I am supposed to be Vanellope that day. I will understand if you don’t want to be a female character.”
“Jennifer Anderson, I am occasionally Minnie and Daisy. My bigger concern is getting the signature approval for Van and they not changing you to Alice or Wendy at the last minute.” I told her. “Besides who is sitting here in a pink nightie. You don’t want your parents to meet your boyfriend?” I continued with her.
She coughed, “When did I get a boyfriend?” And then when she saw I was pointing at myself, she continued with, “I think you mean my girlfriend.” Which caused me to cough, before she continued, “The idea is a good idea, but I really need someone to work for me, everyone I asked so far is either working already or turned me down.”
“What do I have to do?” I asked. I thought I had seen Jennifer excited side before, but she hugged me so quickly and strongly that we both fell down on the couch.
“You will do it!” She exclaimed while hugging the stuffing out of me. She continued, “I will put in for the Change Order with Kayleigh. I will also work on getting her to teach you the signature, so you are approved.” Then she got an evil grin on her face, “I might even work on having you learn Alice’s.”
Groaning I said, “What for? The mouse is never gonna allow me to be Alice, even if I can do the voice. I don’t have the looks.”
Jennifer was staring intensely at me before she spoke, “I am not sure, put a nice wig on your head and no one would know you were not born a girl. True you are flat-chested, but I don’t have a big chest either. It would look out of place on us.”
“I need to get sleep before I have to go to work tomorrow. I will gladly be Vanellope for you, but I will not be Alice.” I told as I escorted her to the door.
Before she opened the door to leave, she kisses me softly on the cheek, before saying, “Thank you for taking my shift on your day off, Girlfriend.” With that said, she quickly was out the door.
I just stared at the now-closed door and tried to figure out how I went from present hunting in the closet to having a knowing friend and a maybe girlfriend in less than thirty minutes. I wasn’t sure if this new speed bump in my life was a good thing or not.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
The next morning as I was eating my breakfast, I heard a knock on the door. Since I was back in my drabs, I opened it wide to find Jenn standing there. “Hello, Jennifer,” I told her.
Jennifer kissed me on the cheek right in the open of everyone passing by. The kiss caused a few ‘aahs’ and at least one ‘get a room’ told in jest. I responded to the last one by blushing red with embarrassment. “We have two,” Jennifer said in response to the jest comment. “I wanted to say hi, Sweetie, and make sure you didn’t change your mind.” She said towards me.
“I will still do it, Jenn, will you come in?” I told her.
She said she was short on time, and asked if it was a request or a demand. I told her, “just a friendly invitation, Girlfriend.”
After she pleads that she was short on time, I decided to press my luck. I leaned over and kissing her on the lips, before waving goodbye to her. I swear that Jennifer almost feels over, before skipping down the hall towards the bus that would take her to work. Shaking my head I returned to my breakfast.
While walking past Kayleigh’s office on the way to Wardrobe I glanced at the schedule, apparently, they changed me to Daisy at the last minute. I could have sworn I was Chip before my days off. Kayleigh must've noticed I was standing outside her office. “Smith, can you come in here?” She asked.
I entered her office and asked, “Do you want the door closed?”
“Doesn’t matter to me. Jennifer Anderson stopped by and asked if you could work for her next Friday. Is that correct?” She continued.
“Yes, I agree to work for her on her birthday. She is supposed to be Van.”
Kayleigh went on, “She did say you would need to learn the signature. I told her it was her responsibility to teach you. You will need to do the signature correctly for me before next Thursday.”
I nodded at her, and said “Okay.”
Kayleigh continued, “She joking asked for permission to teach you the Alice signature. I told her, she may. I highly doubt you will be using that knowledge.”
Mumbling under my breath, I said, “Jenn I am going to get you back.”
“I did not get what you said, Mike,” Kayleigh told me.
Blushing I said, “it was aimed at Jennifer.”
“Well you better get your outfit from Wardrobe…” she started. Then almost as an afterthought, she said, “Jennifer also mentioned that you have perfect Alice and Silvermist voices.”
Blushing even redder I said, “I disagree, Dew Drop,” as Silvermist. I finished with saying “Hey Mister White Rabbit, Mister White Rabbit,” as Alice as I left the room. Just for kicks, I was waving my arms around, and basically acting like Alice while I was saying that last bit. Sneaking a glance behind me, it appeared my boss’s mouth was hanging open in shock.
I just shook my head as I got in the Wardrobe line. When it was my turn I gave my name to the attendant, and after a few moments got the Daisy outfit in reply on its cart. I wheel the cart towards the long-closed Odyssey restaurant which will be my changing and break room today. By now I don’t need help putting most of the outfit on. I had most of it on before Amanda my character attendant showed up. After drinking a bottle of water, I had her help me put the head on. I then promptly went out in the heat of Florida to meet my adoring fans.
Putting on the Daisy sass for the children who want to meet you just makes this job all worth it. I must have signed fifteen autograph books before I heard Amanda say “Daisy has to check on Donald a second, she will be back in about five minutes.”
That was my clue that my Thirty-minute break time was here. Like clockwork, my fellow Daisy was waiting in the break room for me to walk into it. Amanda helped me out of my head, before helping Steph into her head, and walking out of the room with her. I freed my hands, before drinking some much-needed water.
Looking at the clock, I figured Amanda will be back soon for me. So I quickly threw my snickers wrapper away before putting my gloves back on. Sure enough, the door was soon opened up. Again like clockwork, Amanda freed Steph and cloaked me behind the head.
It was time to put the sass on, and meet more pint-sized fans, and some not so small ones. My day was normal for most of the day, meet and greet, break, so on. But as I was returning to meet the last fans for the day, I noticed a certain brunette in line. I currently wasn’t sure if I was happy with Jenn right now. She was the last person in line. Amanda was in the process of closing the line behind her.
Technically Jenn didn’t know if Daisy was Steph, or myself. I escorted my friend to in front of the photographer, and then signed the book she offered me. I interacted with her when she asked Daisy had seen Donald lately. I miming that he swept me off my feet. She got her time, and then it was time for me to head to the break room to get out of this now sweaty costume.
As I walked by Kayleigh’s office again, I was called in it. “Mike, I need your signature on this Change Order.” She told me. I glanced at it, everything looked normal and correct. Except that instead of Mike Smith, I was down as M. Smith. I also noticed that Jennifer’s name had also been shortened to J. Figuring that the boss lady was just being lazy, I didn’t raise a fuss about it. I just signed my John Hancock. With that being done, I continued towards Wardrobe with the outfit.

I had just finished throwing a dress on after my shower when someone knocked on the door. Looking in the peephole, my guess of Jennifer was confirmed. I let her in my room, before turning back to where I kept my wig and placing it on my head.
“Looking nice Laura, where do you keep your makeup?” Jennifer asked.
I told Jenn, “This is all I have,” as I threw my small bag at her. She looked in the bag and grunted as if she wasn’t impressed.
“These are cheap makeup, more for playing around. We need to purchase you some good quality makeup.” She told me.
“Jennifer! No one has seen Laura except yourself. All I do with the makeup is play around with it.” I told her.
She told me, “I will be right back.” She was gone before I knew it. While she was gone I took the chance to put some sandals on. Next thing I knew she was back with a large bag, and she directed me to a chair. Before I could complain, she was doing my face. While she was doing it, I tried to peek towards the mirror. She had noticed I was doing that. She turned the chair away from the mirror, so I said: “Not fair, brat!”
She giggled, and told me, “Patience Princess. Are you ready to see yourself?”
“Depends, do I look good, or am I doing a clown impression?” I asked as she leads me backwards towards the mirror.
As she turned me around, my jaw hit the floor. The person in the mirror definitely didn’t look like a clown. If I was a Beauty Contestant, I would probably would have a good chance of winning in my humble opinion. I turned towards my now close friend, and asked her, “Who is this in the mirror, and what have you done to Laura?”
Jennifer just smiled, and said, “You ready to go to the Springs for a date?”
“WHAT! Walk out of the security of this room?” I exclaimed!
Jennifer sigh, “No one will know it is you. You need to expand your horizons, Laura.” Before I could react, I found myself in the hall. Blinking, I tried to blend into the woodwork. That reaction caused, Jennifer, to exclaim, “Stop that! Unless you want every eye in the area on you.”
I went to Jennifer and gritted my teeth to her. I told her quietly. “I am going to kill you for this trial by fire later. I need to grab my keys and phone if we are going to do this.”
Jennifer showed that she had both, before locking my door. She leads me to the bus to Disney Springs. On the bus, I told her “We can’t stay out too long, I have to work tomorrow.”
“I not going to fall for that, Laura! Remember that the schedule is freely available. Both of us are working together at Chase as the chipmunks starting at one o'clock.” She chastised me for my try.
As she pulled in bus drop off she told me, “we have reservations in Paddlefish in about twenty minutes.”
Paddlefish was a seafood restaurant, in a building that looked like a paddleboat. Their price was around thirty dollars a plate. Too rich for my blood so I exclaimed, “Paddlefish?!?! I can’t afford that!”
“Who said anything about you paying? Besides we left your change purse at home. It is a good thing too because we would have explain why your cards don’t say, Laura.” Jennifer explained softly as she leads me towards the boat.
As we were waiting for our table I leaned against my new friend. I whispered “Jenn, what do you want from me, and who do you want me to be?”
She whispered back, “I want a relationship with both of you. Assuming you will allow me to. This date was going to happen, no matter who you were when I visited you today.”
“Two for Jennifer,” a hostess said. As they were being led towards the table, they asked, “What can I get you, two ladies, to drink?”
“A Diet Coke for me,” Jennifer said, before looking at me.
I told the waitress, using a female sounding voice, “I will have the same, Ma’am.” While looking at the menu I asked Jennifer, “What can I have?”
“Anything you want, Princess.” She told me.
With a smirk, I asked “including the lobster?” I really didn’t plan on ordering anything that expensive. But it couldn’t hurt to have her sweat a little, especially for this trial by fire.
She looked at the sixty fifty dollar price tag on the lobster. She quietly said while visibly sweating, “preferably not, Sweetie.”
“It is a good thing that I only wanted the Shrimp dish, Sweetheart,” I told her with a smirk.
After our date was over, Jennifer took me shopping at Sephora for a good set of starting makeup. Try as I might, my arguments against it were going nowhere. I asked her, “Who has the birthday coming up? I should be giving stuff to you, not you to me!”
She just giggled at me, as she handed me a bag with about a hundred bucks of makeup in it. “We have to get back to the dorm, so you can start your signature lessons. And if we still have time, we will do makeup lessons.” Which that being said we headed back to the dorm. Instead of heading to my room, she leads me to her room.
I found myself sitting at her table, with both Vanellope’s and Alice's signatures in front of me. She handed me ten blank sheets of paper, and a Diet Coke. I tried to argue that I didn’t need to do Alice, but I lost that argument quite a few times.
“What happens when I learn them correctly?” I asked her.
She told me, “Kayleigh is going to ask you for both signature’s tomorrow. She will then decide if you need more practice.”
I just shrugged, and worked on learning both signatures. After I had filled all the papers, my new Sweetheart took all the papers and sample signatures. She then gave me a blank page, and asked me to reproduce both signatures.
“Laura, I think you are ready for Kayleigh’s test tomorrow,” Jennifer started before continuing “Now it is time for makeup lessons.”
I ended up doing five applications of makeup on my face. Starting from my clean face, under the guidance of Jennifer. After these lessons, I felt much better with makeup. I would still call myself a novice with it, though. It was approaching ten at night, so I mentioned that I better head to my room to go to bed.
“Awww, If you want to, you can stay overnight.” my girlfriend told me.
I looked at the huge grin on her face, and slowly said after composing my words. “No I will not stay overnight here. Because I need out of this dress before work tomorrow.” That statement caused an extreme frown on her face. “That being said, you are welcome to join me in my bed tonight.” The emotional whiplash that Jennifer just went through could have caused permanent damage.
She kissed me on the lips before running to pack an overnight bag. Soon we were headed to the opposite side of the dorm to my room. Soon both of us were trying to get ready for bed in a much too small bathroom. Jenn looked carefully at my face encase I left any makeup on it. Once satisfied, she spread lotion on my face and back. I then did the same thing to her, then we both climbed into the bed to go to bed.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
I tried walking past the bosses office the next day on the way to get my Chip outfit. Jennifer, who was behind me, directed me into the office instead. “Kayleigh, she is ready for her signature tests.”
I didn’t catch the pronoun that my friend had used, but my boss didn’t miss it. “She?” Kayleigh asked.
I glared silent daggers at Jennifer as I did the requested two signatures. My soon to be former girlfriend decided she better close the door to do some damage control. Slowly while I continued glaring at her, she said, “Sorry Mike … Laura. I didn’t mean to drag you out of the closet. Kayleigh, Mike is Trans. Since we have become Significant Others, I am used to calling them Laura.”
“That is why you want Smith to learn Alice’s signature?” Kayleigh asked Jenn.
Jenn answered, “Vanellope was needed. Alice was just for kicks, because … he,” she looked at me to test my reaction to the pronoun.
“Jennifer, you already outed me in this conversation. You can use the correct female pronouns” I told her with a sigh.
Jenn continued, “because she has the perfect voice for it. I doubt she will ever use the signature.”
“Smith how do you want me and Disney to treat you? What name do you want me to use?” My boss questioned.
I answered “In private, you can treat me like a female, in public I currently would prefer you treat me how I'm presenting, whichever one that is.”
“Are you two going to be able to work together today? Will I have to have staffing rearrange stuff at the last minute?” The boss quizzed.
“I hope so,” Jennifer answered nervously looking at me.
Smiling I told my boss, “As long as she doesn’t do a repeat, I will be all over it in thirty minutes tops.”
“Great, you two get to Wardrobe for your outfits. I will approve these two signatures in the system.” Kayleigh said, as she opened the door.
As we were rolling our cloaked outfits to the room we’re going to use as the break and changing room, I told Jenn, “Love, you may of pissed me off in the office, but you have been the best thing that has ever happened to me.” Soon the only way you could outwardly tell us two apart was the color of our chipmunk noses. So started our eight hour shift of greeting Chase credit card holders, with another set of chipmunks. I actually like Chase shifts. Guests at chase come in spurts, maybe one group every five or so minutes.
As the next week progressed, the two of us got closer and closer together. One of the results of getting closer to Jennifer, is that Laura was getting harder and harder to shove back in the closet. As I was leaving Wardrobe on Tuesday I happen to notice that I was changed to Vanellope the next day by Staffing, which was a surprise to me.
The next morning, I joined the Wardrobe line behind Jennifer. I heard my girlfriend identity herself and get in response a dress bag and duffel, before it was my turn. I felt a kiss on my cheek as I was trying to identify myself. Blushing red, I looked to see my girl skipping away. Still red I told the lady my name, and received the costume bags on a cart from the lady.
I was soon wheeling the cart towards the meet and greet building. I went into break and changing room, and meet my Ralph I was matched with. After changing into the costume we were led to the greeting area by our attendant, David.
I actually have more fun being the female characters instead of male characters. That may be because of the fact that I am technically a female born in the wrong body. The two of us started our thirty minutes on, thirty minutes off shift of greeting, interactions, and posing with the guests.
After work, I spent it with Jennifer as Laura, the two of us girls are getting attached at the hip. We spent the evening snuggling next to each other watching River of Lights at the Animal Kingdom. Since we watched the early show we still were able to get in the Safari line before park closing. That Safari trip was one of the best twilight Safaris I have ever been on, but it might have been because of whom I was sitting next to.
After a day working as Minnie Thursday Jennifer wanted me to drop by her room with my park pass in the evening. When I question who she wanted me to drop by, she told me my choice.
Using the lessons that Jenn had taught me, I walked to her room as Laura. I didn’t get there unseen, but by now I had accumulated enough guts for that not to affect me. A guy, who was unlocking his door nearby, stared at me as I got near to her room. Other than thinking that his staring was rude, I ignored it. After knocking on the door, I was welcomed in where I discovered in shock that not only was she in the room, but her parents were there too.
Jennifer introduction me, “Mom and Dad this is my girlfriend, Laura.”
“Not that I care if you want to be lesbian, but I thought you said you had a boyfriend named Mike, Sweetie.” Jenn’s Mom said.
Jennifer just looked at me, not sure how to respond to that. I sighed, and responded with tears in my eyes, “Ma’am, Laura and Mike are the same person.” Before turning to leave the room.
As I got to the door, I heard Jennifer’s mother tell her, “Young lady please stop your girlfriend from leaving. Will you please repair her face too.”
Before I knew what was happening, my face was repaired, and we were on a bus headed to Epcot for Garden Grill. While we were enjoying the character dining, I felt like I was being interrogated by Jennifer’s parents. They wanted details, that made me blush red. Questions included my job, my plans for Laura and Mike, and our relationship. I told them, in this location, all I could tell them is that I had the same job as their daughter. I continued by saying that “I wasn’t sure what was going on with Laura. A week and half ago, she was hiding deep in the closet. Some brat by the name of Jennifer dragged her out of the closet. As for our relationship, ask your daughter, she definitely wears the pants in this relationship.” I said the last bit with a smirk, as I ate my food.
Soon dinner was over, and we hung around to watch the fireworks. Jill Anderson asked me “Are you joining us tomorrow, Laura?”
“Not during the day, I got to work for some Birthday Princess tomorrow.” I told Jenn’s mom.
Jennifer just blushed while her mother smirked, before saying, “Then we better get straight home after the fireworks. So you can get your beauty sleep, Aurora.”

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
“Mike, you will need this,” Kayleigh told me as I walked past her. Receiving the change order from her, I thanked her for it before headed to Wardrobe.
I told the Wardrobe lady, “Smith working for Anderson, here is the Change Order.” She told me one second before returning with a dress bag, and duffel bag. I questioned it because it didn’t look like any fur outfit I was used to in my six months here.
“You are not a fur today. Staffing changed you… looks like it was an emergency change made an hour ago.” I was told, and she basically let me know the discussion was over with. I was afraid to look in the dress bag. I just assumed the dress was probably blue in color. I dragged both bags to Kayleigh’s office, and closed the door behind me.
“Kayleigh, we have a problem.” I told my boss slumping on the couch in the room.
Kayleigh looked at me, confused, “Problem, Mike?”
“You might be calling me Laura, because staffing decided I am going to be whatever is in this bag.” I told her pointing to the dress bag as if it was a wretched item.
Kayleigh went to the dress bag, and opened it up. She revealed the Alice dress, just what I was afraid it would be. She didn’t say anything, just went to the phone.
“Mark, it is Kayleigh in Epcot Character. We have a staffing issue.
…
We had an active change order for M Smith to do Vanellope for J Anderson.
…
Yep, I am aware you changed it to Alice, and there lies the problem.
…
The problem is that M Smith is technically male.
…
They were never approved for the character, just the signature. That signature approval was Jennifer being silly … J is Jennifer.
…
Let me get this straight, Valerie broke her ankle this morning tripping in the shower. Mike was the only one who was scheduled who could do Alice’s signature?
…
Before you do the cancellation of Alice today, let me talk to someone and call you back.
…
Talk to you in a few minutes.”
Taking a deep breath, she looked at me. “Laura, can you please save us today? We will make it worth your time, if you will become Alice today.”
“I am not against it, but I don’t know the makeup, the interactions, and I will stick out like a sore thumb.” I told my boss.
She told me, “We will worry about the makeup. I disagree about the sticking out, I’ve seen you two girls out and about; you two almost look like twins. Do you know the movie, Laura?” When I nodded, she continued, “This will require me to out you to staffing.”
After I gave my approval, she turned to the phone to get approval for the plan. I meanwhile was texting Jennifer. “Thanks to you, it looks like I will be Alice today.”
Kayleigh was talking on the phone, “Mark, I may have the answer to our problems.
…
We don’t change anything. Mike is also Laura, since they are Trans, and has the perfect Alice voice.
…
I understand it is unusual, but Laura would not look out of place as Alice. I have seen her out and about as a female before, shopping at Springs.
…
She agreed to do it, our biggest issue will be her first time nerves as Alice.
…
I will work on getting her ready.”
As Kayleigh was hanging up the phone, my phone dinged to let me know Jenn had replied, “I swear I am innocent, Sweetie. I didn’t set that up! I was supposed to be Van last I looked.”
I explained to my girlfriend that Val broke her ankle this morning. The only one on the schedule who could do Alice's signature was an M Smith. I continued by telling her that it was either cancel Alice or Laura makes her face debut. I continued by wishing Jennifer a happy birthday.
“Sandra can you send Alice’s attendant to my office please?” I heard Kayleigh say on the phone.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and Kayleigh welcomed my next door neighbor, Heather in. She greeted me, before turning her attention to Kayleigh, “Sandra said you wanted to see me?”
“Yes, Heather. I would like you to meet Laura, she is going to be Alice today. It is going to a trial by fire for her today. She has never been a face character before, but it was either do the unorthodox thing throwing her to the wolves or cancel Alice today,” Kayleigh told my attendant.
Heather was looking around for the mystery third person in the room, while I was blushing up. “Call me confused but I just see you and Mike, when do I meet this Laura.” She told us.
Before my boss could talk, I said, “Heather, I am Laura.”
“I seen a female leave your room a few times with and without Jenn, this explains a lot,” Heather replied softly and without much shock.
Kayleigh’s phone rang, and she quickly listened and hung it up. “Girls, Makeup is expecting us. Can you help Laura with her bags, Heather?”
In the makeup room, before I could blink, I was shoved towards the changing room with the outfit clothes. Behind the safety of the changing curtain, I stripped down to just my dance pants that I was already wearing because I was expecting to be an female fur.
Using the chair in the room, I expertly pulled the opaque white tights on, before strapping the shoes on. It felt weird becoming Laura, scratch that, Alice without a bra or forms, but none was provided, and the character didn’t need it. I dropped a full petticoat over my head. After shaking hips to allow it to settle, I next dropped the baby blue dress over my head. After slipping my arms in the sleeves, I worked on figuring out the pinafore. Once it was on, I looked in the mirror. That was definitely a view that I didn’t think I would ever see. At least not at work. I half expected that Jenn would probably force me to dress as Alice come Halloween, though.
Walking out of the room, I changed to the character voice before turning around so Heather could do up my buttons, and tie my sash. Soon I was sitting down in the chair the makeup artist was motioning to.
She did my subtle makeup before fasten the wig on my head. She handed me some blue lens to put in my eyes, which I eventually put did after a few tries. Looking in the mirror, I determined that I definitely wasn’t going to make a mockery of the character.
Heather was soon directing me towards a waiting golf cart to take us to the U.K. Pavilion. Still using the Alice voice, I said “Here goes nothing,” as we headed to on stage.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
“Alice you will do great,” Heather told me with a huge smile as she looked at her watch. Meanwhile I was mumbling to myself, “Stay in character… Stay in character… Don’t do a protein spill… Stay in character…” We walked around the pavilion to where the garden was, to find a long line of fans ready to meet me. I noticed, as I walked past them, that a certain birthday girl was in the middle of the line. I resisted the huge urge to greet her.
Going to the two young twin girls in the front of the line I said, “Will you join me at my unbirthday tea party, girls?” leading them in front of my photographer. After interacting with them, and signing their books, I posed for pictures with them.
As I was getting the next family, I noticed Kayleigh with another manager standing nearby, and watching me. I decided not to sweat it, because if they had an issue they would let Heather know. Since they were ignoring Heather it meant they currently did not have an issue. Besides, my nerves were making me sweat enough without the stress of the managers.
I was asked about the Mad Hatter by the next family. I told them that they were having tea with the March Hare. Slowly I progressed through the line, interact, sign, pose, repeat, rinse, repeat.
“Will you please join me over here young lady,” I told Jennifer. “I see it is your birthday, it is only my unbirthday today here.” I continued looking at her birthday button. Since it has her name on it, I could call her by name if I wanted to.
Movement out of the corner of my eye caught my attention a second. It was the managers moving so they could see us better, and hear us. They had gained another manager sometime since I last looked at them. I turned my attention quickly back to Jennifer.
Jennifer respond with a big smile, “Thank you Alice, Yes it is my birthday.”
“How old are you, Jennifer?” I asked as I signed Jennifer’s book. I already knew she was turning nineteen today, but Alice didn’t know that.
She told me quietly, “Nineteen.”
I lead the crowd in singing happy birthday to my girlfriend. By the time we were in the posing portion of the interaction, her face was fire engine red with embarrassment. I took great pleasure in that redness, but only internally.
After sending her on the way, I meet the young family with a young girl and even smaller boy. Since the girl also had a birthday button, I again had the crowd joining me in singing happy birthday.
Soon Heather was addressing the crowd, “Alice has a crochet date with the red queen, she will be back in about thirty minutes.”
“Yes, we can’t be late. I like my head exactly where it is.” I said as I followed Heather off stage. I noticed, behind me, the Photopass photographer was speaking with the managers. Once the whole group was off stage I turned to the managers, and said “Ok how bad did I do?”
Kayleigh tutted, and said “Laura, you don’t give yourself enough credit. You did excellent today, young lady.”
“I enjoy the fact you lead the crowd with happy birthday,” the manager whose name tag said ‘Mark’ on it.
Blushing, I said after drinking some water, “I only did that to embarrass Jennifer for putting me in this situation. I figured if I did it to one, I should do it to all.”
“Do you work tomorrow, and Sunday?” Mark asked.
Not sure how this questioning was going, I hesitated to answer, “No I have tomorrow off, Sunday I do work as Minnie.”
“Figure on being Alice again Sunday, I will figure out what I am doing about Alice tomorrow. Valerie will be changing departments for a while,” Mark answered as he left the break room. Kayleigh stayed behind, but the other manager left with Mark.
I said out loud but to no one in particular, “I am glad I never did a bet with Jennifer. I repeatedly told her I would never be Alice.”
“Laura, you had excellent interactions with the guests today. Remember to drink plenty of water, and eat some light nourishment on your breaks. Keep it up for the remainder of your shift.” Kayleigh told me bringing me back to the subject on hand.
I remembered something, “Kayleigh, where are my clothes? I can’t exactly wear these home.”
“I will bring them here later in the day.” She told me.
After she left, I ran to the bathroom to partake in the easiest weight loss plan. The last half hour really had not been that bad, but my nerves disagreed with that statement. Once I was back in the room, I turned to Heather, “Penny for your thoughts.”
“If I didn’t know you were my neighbor, I would of assumed you were a new hire I had never met before. You are also way too hard on yourself, there was no reason for that bathroom visit, young lady. How long have you been out and about as Laura?” Heather asked.
Smirking, I said, “About the bathroom visit, you know that, I know that, tell my nerves that. On how long, it has only been one and half weeks since Jennifer dragged me out of the room.”
“Wow, you would never know that, Laura.” Looking at her watch she continued, “You better fix your makeup, it is almost time to meet your adoring fans again. I hope you feel better this time too”
After I fixed my lips with the makeup the artist had given me, I followed Heather towards the stage to start another twenty to thirty minutes of interactions. I felt much better this time, my jitters of being read, or messing up the character were going away. True, they were still there, but not as strong.
Going to the young newly weds at the front of the line, I invited them to interact with me. Again it was interaction, sign, pose, send them on their way.
During the course of the day, I swear every manager in Florida, and maybe some from California, had walked by me. Most of them stopped for a few minutes to listen to me. True you do see them in the park from time to time, but this was a highly unusual amount of them. Almost as if they were judging me, which I am sure they were. Since they always ignored Heather, they must of liked what they saw.
I had just sent a family on their way when I heard Heather say, “It is time for Alice to join the Mad Hatter at his unbirthday tea. She will be back in about thirty minutes.”
Walking into the break room for the second to last time today, I realize I better get Jennifer a birthday present. She had let me know earlier that her and her parents were expecting me at Magic Kingdom entrance at seven thirty. That gave me two hours to get cleaned up after work and get there. What it didn’t give me was shopping time.
I slumped in my seat, which caused Heather to comment. “Today hasn’t been that bad Laura. You have been a great Alice, almost like you been doing it for years.”
“It isn’t that, today is my girlfriend’s birthday. I haven’t had a chance to go shopping for a present for her. I was notified that I have to join them at M.K. at seven thirty. I don’t have shopping time.” I told my attendant.
“What do you want to get her?” Heather asked.
I answered her, “There is a small glass figure of Alice in Germany, but I am not exactly dressed for shopping.” I described it to Heather.
She looked at the clock, “you have the cash?”
“Yes, why?” I asked.
“I will gladly buy it for you,” she said holding her hand out for the money, after she switched out of her uniform shirt. Finding my wallet in my pants, I handed her six twenty dollar bills. As she was leaving the room she told me “be ready to go on stage at four forty five, with or without me, preferably with.”
Looking at the time, that gave her twenty five minutes to get to Germany from U.K. and back. With the crowds that may be tight. Shrugging, I returned to my drink before I was distracted by the door opening. “You back already, Heather?” I asked.
“No it is Valerie, you must be the mysterious Laura I am told is working for me.” Val said walking in with her left leg on a knee walker.
“Yes I am Laura. I was supposed to be working for Jenn, and staffing accidentally put me as Alice to replace you.” I told my coworker.
“Where is your attendant? Why do you say accidentally?” She questioned.
I told her that Heather was out shopping for me, and explained that I wasn’t approved to be the character, just do the signature.
She looked at me, and said “Wasn’t Jennifer’s boyfriend Mike supposed to work for her today?”
“Nice to meet you, Val. I am Laura, who you know as Mike.” I told my injured coworker while sighing. I mumble to myself, “Like it or not, I am so out of the closet.”
Meanwhile, Val jaw was on the ground, just staring at me. Thankful Heather walked into the room at that moment, and handed me an expertly wrapped pink present, and my change.
“Time to repair your makeup Alice. Oh hello Val, how is the ankle?” Heather told us.
As I repair my makeup, Valerie explained that it may never be the same. I was soon following Heather on stage. When I got there, I greeted the boy in front of the line, asking if it was his Unbirthday. The two us sang an non chart topping version of the Unbirthday song. When that was done, since he didn’t want my autograph, I just posed for pictures.
I interacted with a few more guests before I turned to get the next guest to find Val next in line. “Can you please join me over here. Curiouser and curiouser, what did you do?”
She meekly told me she broke her ankle, and then asked me to sign her cast. That task done, I posed for a picture, and then finish my last few guests before going behind stage for the last time today.
Back in the break room I went to the changing area and regrettably removed the dress and other items that go with the costume, after Heather had undone my buttons.
Back in my drabs, I went to the sink, and removed the wig and scrubbed my face clean. After about fifteen minutes when my face was clean, I joined Heather on a golf cart to Wardrobe area, making sure to take Jennifer’s present with me.
As I walked into the Wardrobe area to drop the dress off, I noticed two guys talking off to the side. According to their uniforms they were working in the American Pavilion today. The one guy who looked strangely familiar, suddenly walked off mumbling to himself after noticing me. The fact he abruptly left, caused the other guy to look confused. Shaking my head, and not knowing if that was anyway connected to me, I got in the line.
Walking past Kayleigh’s office after dropping the dress off, I was called in the office. I walked in to find Heather, Mark from Staffing, some unnamed lady and of course Kayleigh in the office. After closing the door like I was requested, the unnamed lady spoke, “Laura, if I may call you that, you had an excellent, but unconventional, Alice audition today. I understand Laura is scheduled for Alice on Sunday, that is fine. Expect a meeting Monday about today. I expect everyone in this room there too. Mark please schedule Jennifer and Valerie at this meeting too. Laura I would also recommend having a parent there, video conference is ok. Kayleigh please approve Laura in the system as Alice, too. Talk to you all on Monday.” With her bit said she walked out without an statement.
As the gathered people slowly left, I asked my boss, “who in the world was that?”
“Rebecca Folks, Vice President of Staffing and Characters. When she says jump, you ask how high,” Kayleigh told me, before quizzing me on the pink present in my hand.
When I explained that it was a present for my girlfriend, she asked how I was able to get it. She accepted my explanation of Heather buying for me. Since time was short I ran to the staff bus, to run home to become Laura again.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
After about forty-five minutes, I was dressed in a nice top and skirt. Looking at myself in the mirror, my makeup wasn’t perfect, but it would do. Last to go on was the wig. At almost seven thirty, I was hugging my girlfriend at the front of Magic Kingdom.
“Would you like to explain young lady why I got an email requiring me to attend a meeting on Monday,” Jenn asked me. When she noticed the present, she continued, “when in the world did you have time to go shopping?”
Blushing, as we walked towards the castle, I said, “I have no clue what the meeting is about, except I am assuming myself. Us two, Heather and Val are requested to be there too. The bigger problem is they want one of my parents there. As for the present, Heather did my shopping today, since I couldn’t.”
While walking into the Cinderella Royal Table waiting area, Jenn asked me, “Your parents are in Vermont, right. I doubt they are going to get down here by Monday.”
“They don’t have to be here, Skype is fine. The issue is they don’t know…” I told my girlfriend.
All I got out of Jenn was a long oh.
Jill saw my face and asked me, “What is wrong Sweetheart?”
“There is a big meeting on Monday, for secret reasons and they want my unknowing parents there by Skype.” I told her.
“Anderson for four?” A hostess asked.
As we followed the hostess, Jill told me, “Your parents should be there, but I would like to be there too, as a legal representative for you.”
Tim, Jennifer’s father pulled out each of our chairs and then scooted us closer to the table. With the conversation about the meeting done we turned towards less stressful subjects.
When the dessert time finally got here, I gave my girlfriend the present she had been staring at all meal. After she unwrapped the small glass figure of Alice, worth about a hundred bucks after the employee discount, I got a kiss on the cheek. She had aimed for the lips at first but hit the cheek at the last minute.
Saturday after a day at our competition down the road with the Andersons, I was sitting in my room with Jennifer not looking forward to this Skype call to Vermont I had to make. Jill had decided she was going to join us as a support structure.
The computer webcam was aimed at my window while I called home. “Hello Sport, where are you?” My mother answered.
Stepping in the field of vision in the nice dress I was wearing I said, “Here I am, Mother,” I was going to introduce Jenn and Jill but I didn’t have a chance.
“Oooh, I finally get to meet my daughter that I have known about for at least a year.” Karen Smith exclaimed.
I questioned my mother, “What you mean known about?”
“Though your closet was messy, probably on purpose, your hidden dresses were still visible behind the rest of your clothes,” she told me.
Taking the chance, I introduced the other two people before explaining what this call was about. I told my mom, “Disney has a big meeting about me on Monday and they want you there.”
“Princess, first what is your name, I just knew about the dresses. There is no way we can fly down to Florida on Monday.” My mother explained. I told her my female name and explained that Skype was perfectly fine.
“Can someone explain to me the circumstances behind the meeting?”
“I worked for my girlfriend, Jennifer … “ I started.
My mother interrupted, “Backup here, girlfriend?”
“Mother, yes my girlfriend, but let’s stay on subject … yesterday for her birthday. I was supposed to be another character but became Alice at the last minute. It was because another one of our coworkers broke her ankle.”
“Why would they put a boy… and I am using the term loosely, as Alice.”
Sighing, I responded, “The person who did it, didn’t know that M. Smith was a boy. Plus my jokester Girlfriend had me learn Alice’s signature along with the new fur character I was supposed to do.” After breathing, I continued, “Plus some idiot had outed me to my boss,” while sticking out my tongue at Jennifer.
“I said I was sorry,” Jennifer exclaimed.
I hugged my friend before continuing, “I was teasing you. Anyways mother, they had no one on shift who could do it, and were thinking of canceling Alice for the day.”
“How do you think you did as Alice?” My mother questioned.
I blushed, and told my mother, “I am supposed to be Alice tomorrow again so I must have done well.”
“So this meeting isn’t a punishment meeting,” my mother suggested.
I nodded, and said, “Not that I know, I doubt they would want a parent at that kind of meeting. Besides myself, Jennifer, Heather, my attendant yesterday, and Valerie, the girl I replaced will be there, and at least three managers. Jennifer’s Mother will be there as a lawyer if I need one, and they want you there.”
“Any details about the meeting?” My mother questioned.
I shocked my head, “All I know is the VP called the meeting and told me I passed my nonconventional audition with flying colors, before leaving the room without a word.”
After that subject, my mother became interrogating both Jennifer and me about our relationship, and how we meet. I swear that Jill was enjoying this conversation too, and getting some new information. Some of the questions I was asked were extremely personal, that I didn’t have all the answers for.
Sunday I went to work as Laura, figuring if I was going to be her later, I might as well start as one. Walking past Kayleigh’s office, I was told that the VP had gladly approved Jill being at the meeting.
When it was my turn at the Wardrobe window, I told the lady, “L Smith, please.”
I soon was rewarded with the dress and duffel bags. Kayleigh had suggested that I change in the U.K. today. She told me that Makeup would meet me there to teach me the correct makeup. I was soon joining my attendant on the golf cart, who I was glad to see was Heather again.
“Laura?” She questioned.
I told her, “guilty as charged.”
Once we were in the break room, I changed into the costume. Stepping out from the changing area, I turned around to allow Heather to do my back up, After switching wigs, I did my own makeup under the guidance of the Makeup department.
With a few minutes to spare the two of us were waiting to go on stage just behind the door. Once I got on stage, I felt so much better, I didn’t have any jitters this time.
Before I knew it I was switching back to Laura after a full day of being Alice. Heather again waited for my return to my normal clothes, before joining me in the golf cart towards Wardrobe. “L Smith returning Alice. There is a marker mark on the pinafore.” I told Wardrobe.
Fifteen minutes later both of us were heading to the dorm. As I was in the shower, I heard a knock on the door. I came out of the shower and putting a nice dress on, and did my makeup with my wig. I then checked the door to find a note taped to it.
Looking at the note it said in handwriting that wouldn’t look out of place as a doctor’s, “Tinkerbell would be more appropriate. You Fairy!”
Author's Note:I posted this on my phone at work... I didn’t have access to a real computer. Apologies for any mistakes that I accidentally made. Katie Ann will have to wait until I get home. Mobile is doable but a pain the rear.

Mike was asked to cover a shift by a knowing friend on their birthday. Because the scheduling boss made an incorrect assumption, he ended up being something he could only dream of.
I slumped in my room not knowing what to do, I wasn’t sure how long I had been slumping there when Heather found me there with my door wide opened. She asked me “Laura you ok?”
I just silently handed her the note. She said after reading the note, “I will get whoever did this fired!” She picked up her phone and called someone, “Jennifer, come and get your girlfriend, she got an evil note and is laying on her floor.”
Before we could blink, Jennifer and Jill walked in the room, almost as they ran across the dorm. Jennifer picked me up, while Jill asked for the note. I was soon being escorted to Jennifer’s room by her mother, while Jennifer stayed behind in my room for something.
That night I was never left out of sight by Jennifer and her parents. They took me off property for dinner, and then Jennifer helped me change in a nightie.
The next day, after sleeping in Jenn’s bed, I felt much better. I was wearing my best dress for the meeting at the main office. They had sent a van for the four of us, Jenn, Heather, Val, and myself. Soon we were being escorted in a conference room, where we found four managers, and Jill waiting. My mother’s face was beaming at us on a large TV.
Taking our seat, the Lady that I had been previously told was a VP, addressed us. “Welcome everyone to this meeting about Laura. I am Rebecca Folks, VP of Staffing and Characters for Walt Disney World. Also in attendance we have, Mark Gains, Epcot Staffing manager; Kayleigh Myers, Epcot Character Manager; Tina Van Eck, Walt Disney World Human Resources Manager; Laura Smith, Character; Jennifer Anderson, Character; Valerie Jones, currently injured Character; Heather Lockhart, Character Attendant; Jill Anderson, Requested Legal Representative for Laura; and joining us on the TV is Karen Smith, Laura’s Mother.
I would like everyone to know this meeting is being recorded. I will also like to stress that this meeting is non-punitive in nature.
I would like to record some facts about this meeting on the recorder before we get started.
Last Friday, the 12th, Laura who is employed as Mike Smith was working for Jennifer. At the time Laura was not fully approved for a face character. Valerie broke her ankle that very morning, requiring us to replace her as Alice at the last minute.
Mark seeing Laura’s partial approval as Alice. and not knowing Laura’s true gender, accidentally placed Laura as Alice. Laura did excellent as Alice, and you couldn’t tell that ... one she wasn’t born as Laura or … two she didn’t have the proper audition or training.
Another fact that has been pointed out to me is Jennifer and Laura are dating. Also Heather and Laura are neighbors. With those facts, let’s get started with this meeting.”
Jill interrupted, “before we get started, I would like to present some evidence which may play in this meeting,” handing two notes over to Rebecca.
“Let the evidence be noted that Jill has just handed me two notes. The first one says ‘Tinkerbell would be more appropriate. You Fairy’” Rebecca said in an angry tone. She continued, “The second note says, ‘Mother Gothel would be more appropriate because you are ugly. They both appear to be the same handwriting.’”
The HR person said, “Let us deal with those notes before we deal with this meeting. Where were these notes found?”
“The first one found taped to my door after I heard a knock during my shower after work yesterday. I have no knowledge of the second note,” I told the assembled people. Glancing at my mother, she looked like she was going to kill someone.
“I want whoever put that note on my daughter’s door gone!” My mother said
Rebecca spoke slow, “rest assured Mrs. Smith, if we figure out who did both notes, they will be fired.” Looking at Jill she asked, “What about the second one?”
“That one was found taped to my door after we got home from shopping yesterday,” Jennifer said.
Rebecca questioned, “You all live in the dorm?”
All four of us nodded our heads, so Rebecca continued, “Let it be shown that I got four nods. Tina are there cameras in the dorm hallways?” Getting an affirmative, she continued, “When were these notes received?”
“After work for mine, but yesterday is a blur to me,” I answered.
Heather spoke up, “we got back from work at about five-thirty yesterday. I happen to work with her yesterday.”
“Had to be about the same time for mine. We barely had been home long when we got a phone call from Heather that Laura was a lump on the floor,” Jennifer mentioned.
“Great, Tina please have security check the dorm cameras after five thirty, and get back to me with who visited Laura’s and Jennifer’s doors. Now let’s start with the real reason for this meeting, Laura’s status at work.” Rebecca started, the way she said it caused a lump in my throat until I remembered she had said this was not a punishment meeting. She continued “Not to say that Jennifer’s or Valerie’s Alice is bad, but Laura your Alice is excellent, one of the top ten since Kayleigh started working here.” I breathed a sigh of relief as the V.P. continued, “We would like to keep using you occasionally as Alice. Your trans nature creates a small hiccup, but that can be overlooked. If you were guaranteed employment, and support, which persona of you would you choose.”
I looked at my mother and got a nod in reply. I then looked at my girlfriend, and also got a nod, so I said: “I would like to be Laura.”
“So be it, Kayleigh please treat your underlying as Laura. Mark, please see that Laura is on the schedule. HR please do the paperwork, and see that Laura gets the needed counseling,” Rebecca said.
I exclaimed in shock, “That is it?”
“Not exactly, you need a support structure. Heather, Valerie will you be Laura’s supporting group, along with Jennifer?”
My two coworkers answered affirmation to the question, so Rebecca continued, “HR will you see that Laura gets her dollar an hour raise for being a face character retroactive to when she was signature approved. Laura will also need her five cents per character raise for both Van and Alice. While you are at it, make sure that she … Jennifer and Valerie are getting one for every character they can do. Laura will also need a one time reward for doing Alice while she was presenting male, saving us from canceling Alice for the day.”
Getting an affirmation to that, Rebecca continued, “we would like to train Laura and Jennifer if she isn’t trained as Wendy,” and then looking at the note and me nervously, “Tinkerbell, and since I am told Laura has an excellent voice for it, the rare character, Silvermist.”
I told the gathered masses, “I don’t mind that,”
Jennifer expressed that she was already Wendy trained but none of the fairies. Rebecca expressed “That concludes the Laura part of this meeting, anyone have any questions?”
My mother spoke, “I don’t have a question, but I would like to express to Laura that I will support her wherever her journey takes us.”
“Since there are no further questions, we will turn to the Valerie part of this meeting. This will be quick and is also non-punitive. Valerie do you want people to leave or not.” Rebecca asked.
She obviously had a lump in her throat as she said, “As long as it is not a punishment, they can stay.”
The VP continued, “Very well, Valerie you have your choice of four departments to transfer to until your ankle heels, Food Service, Ticketing, Retail, or Wardrobe.”
After thinking about it long, Valerie said: “Ticketing please.”
“Very well, Tina can you transfer her to Ticketing with no cut in pay, making sure the correct manager knows that she can do her duties sitting in accordance with the Doctor’s note.” Getting an affirmation, Rebecca continued, “that concludes this meeting.”
I was still in shock realization that two weeks ago Laura was far back in the closet, and suddenly I was full time at work as Laura with a girlfriend, and two friends that are girls.
Author's Note:
This is the end of Change Order Book 1. I plan for Laura and Jennifer's story to continue after I finish writing the story. A prequel and sequel are planned, and I have maybe one third of the prequel written.
Next week on Friday will be the first of six chapters of an unrelated story. Hopefully by the time that is posted I will be done with the prequel.
