Angela leans her head back against her seat as she listens to the hum of the tires of the bus as it travelled over the asphalt. It relaxed her enough that she didn’t need to concentrate so hard in keeping her shields up and keeping other people’s thoughts out of her head. It took her a long time to learn how to block them. It also didn’t help that her parents were hardcore Baptist Evangelists.

She remembers when her powers first started to manifest. She was just ten years old when she started hearing her teacher’s thoughts. It frightened her a lot at first, but the scary time came when she told her parents that she was hearing voices inside her head. Her parents’ thought she was crazy and had been possessed by demons, they called her a child of Satan and locked her in a closet for days and tried all sorts of ways to chase the demon out of her. They made her drink holy water every day, but they hadn’t realized the water had become contaminated. The contamination had caused her to lose her eyesight. It took everything she had to fool them enough so she could be released from the closet.

Her mother was tough on her as she was forced to deal with her blindness, if she didn’t do what her mother told her to do, she would be whipped with a switch her mother brought in from the tree right outside their home. She had scars on top of her hands and back from the beatings she received. She secretly practiced at night in her locked bedroom to learn how to use her developing psychic abilities to allow her to see through other people’s eyes. She didn’t know how she was able to learn about a technique like that, but it was the only recourse she had, if she wanted to see. The first time she did it, it felt weird to her. She practiced as often as she could, when she was alone.

She also learned she could influence people with her abilities as well. If she just gave them a gentle suggestion, she could get them what she wanted, but if she pushed too hard with her suggestion, she knew they would resist. That was how she managed to get one of the older ladies in her parent’s congregation to buy her a bus ticket and send her to Charlottesville, VA. She had learned that there was a group of Wiccans that lived up there, which could help her with her abilities. How to get in touch with them was another matter however she had to try. Her abilities were getting stronger and she didn’t know how she could deal with them, normally she would have searched the internet or the library for help. However, with her being blind, there would be no way she could do that. Her parents weren’t about to spend the money to get her a keyboard or even a new computer for her to use. She was lucky that there was someone in the congregation who was able to teach her how to read Braille.

This trip of hers, took allot of planning and cunning on her part. She sneaked into her parents’ bedroom at night and made suggestions to them to write a letter permitting her to travel along and to let Ms. Williams watch over her. Once that had been done, she made small suggestions to Ms. Williams for her to take her to the bus station and buy the ticket she needed. Between the letters from her parents granting her permission to travel by herself on the bus and the money she managed to get from her parents to take on this trip, she figured she would have enough to live on for a week if she had to.

The bus driver had been nice to her during the trip so far. She had peeked inside his mind and discovered that he had two daughters and two boys and really enjoyed his job. Sure, there were times he wished he were on a different route, but he didn’t mind this one too much. The other passengers on the bus each had their own places they were heading, one or two of them were going to visit their families. The others were on vacation and the rest were heading to college or Washington D.C.

Angela sighs as she listens to the raindrops hitting the bus roof and her window. She snuggles deep into her seat cushion and bundles up under the blanket the bus driver gave her when she came on the bus. She mentally relaxes and drifts off to sleep, she dreams of an open field filled with horses and green grass with a white picket fence. She could feel the wind as it brushed against her cheeks as it blew. she could feel the warm sunshine beaming down on her as she walked the field in a summer dress. She could see again and watched as the clouds over her passed by forming different shapes in the sky. A smile forms, on her face as she stands there in the field, watching the sky.

Angela wakes when she feels someone touch her lightly on the arm. She sees the field and everything around her disappear the black void returns.

“Angela, it’s time to wake-up. We’re here at the bus station.” Henry looks down at her. He had been watching over her since she first boarded the bus back in Richmond, Va. She reminded him of his youngest child. He felt sorry for her, since she couldn’t see. Why any parent would let a thirteen-year-old blind girl travel by herself, he’ll never know.

Angela stirs when she hears Henry’s fatherly voice. She could feel his concern for her safety from his touch on her bare skin.

“Thank you, Henry.” she sits up and stretches.

She reaches for her cane and slowly gets up out of her seat and with Henry’s help exit the bus and into the station. Angela immediately scans the bus station with her mental gifts. Feeling everyone’s thoughts almost overwhelm her. There were so many of them. Some of them were normal and others were different. She had never felt anything like these thoughts before. They were different, primal in a sense. She slowly turns till she feels the strength of the thoughts become sharper. She searches for a normal person nearby to look through their eyes.
She wanted to see whom she was feeling, because she had never felt any one’s thoughts like this.

Angela has a familiar warning as she thinks about doing what is thinking. She’s learned to listen to those warnings. She decides to head outside the bus station and flags down a cab.

Charley notices a small, young girl with lightly tanned skin with long brown hair that came down to her waist, tied in a ponytail, wearing a purple polo shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. She had on a pair of black sunglass and had a white cane strapped to her left hand and a dark brown backpack on her back. She seemed to be waving her hands and looking directly towards him as he comes closer to her. He pulls up close to the curb and watches as she opens the passenger side door.

“Thank you, sir” she said, climbing into the cab.

“You’re welcome.” Charley couldn’t help but notice that she addressed him as sir. How did she know he was a male instead of a female?

“Your kind of young to be travelling by yourself.” Charley looks at the young girl.

Angela just smiles, she could read his thoughts so clearly.

“Yes, sir I am, but I am looking for someone to help me with a problem I have and they work in this city. Is there an antique store by the name of Out of Time Antiques?” Angela held her cane close to her body. She had a bad feeling that something was going to occur soon.

“Yes, ma’am there is, is that where you would like to go?” Charley just looks at the young girl and wonders why she would want to go there.

“Yes sir. I need to speak to Mrs. Cassandra Powell.” Angela couldn’t figure out why, she suddenly knew this woman’s name, it was as if like something or someone was guiding her to this woman.

“I know Mrs. Powell, she and her husband are good people. They do a lot of charity work around these parts and host a summer camp out at their ranch for trouble and handicapped youths.” Charley pulls away from the curb and heads down the road towards the street that he knew would take him towards the antique store.

Angela listens intently to Charley when he spoke about Mrs. Powell and her husband. She wonders if that was why she had been sent here to her.

“What type of work does her husband do?” Angela was interested in that fact.

“He’s a member of the JADE taskforce.” Charley knew about the task force because some of his fellow cab drivers acted as informants for them, letting them know about certain drug dealers, weapon suppliers and rough supernatural creatures that broke the law.

“What is JADE?” Angela had picked up what it was from Charley’s mind, but it would have been rude for her to acknowledge it.

“It’s the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement, it’s composed of police officers from several different police departments and other agencies. Allot of the officers or detectives come from the Charlottesville Police Department, Albemarle County Police Department, University of Virginia Police Department, Virginia State Police and agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. They sometimes have agents from the FBI and ATF working with them. A cousin of mine who is a SWAT officer works with them sometimes. Cassandra’s husband is a detective and he normally deals with the supernatural creatures. There was an incident just last week that JADE had to handle. I tell you, ever since those vampires came out to everyone; life hasn’t been the same since.” Charley had known for years that there were things that made his skin crawl, especially at night with some of the weird fares he had gotten over the years, now that the vampires have come out to everyone, he will no longer work the night shift.

“Is there a large supernatural presence here?” Angela knew her father’s friends had killed off the supernatural presence where she lived.

When her father and mother found out that there were vampires living in their town, they made some phone calls to friends of theirs at another church, her parents didn’t know that she knew about them. She knew they were called the Hunter organization, she also knew the money her father’s church collected went into supporting their group and their activities.

“Unfortunately, yes. They own or operate at least ten or twenty of the businesses around town. One of the biggest nightclubs around these parts is owned by a male vampire, he’s supposedly of European royal descent and is considered the head vampire of this area, to whom all the other vampires should answer too. Personally, I think they should just ship to Europe, him and the rest of the vampires that live here.”

Charley hated him; because the vampire he was talking about bought the cab company for which he drove and raised everyone’s rental fee. They were barely getting by before then, but now he had to work extra hard to earn his rental fee and have a few dollars to take home each day. He was lucky he had his military retirement check to get him by, but he knew the rest of the drivers weren’t that lucky. This was their only job.

Angela winces when she feels Charley’s anger, strong emotions like anger, hatred, lust and jealously were hard for her to keep from affecting her, that’s why every Sunday when she was forced to sit through her father’s sermons, she would sneak several sips of the cheap wine before it was watered down for communion. She managed to keep a flask of Mad Dog 20/20 in her backpack to help dull the pain of strong emotions she had to face. The drawback to drinking too much that she found out by accident one day it allowed her to see more possible future events. Normally she could only see maybe a day or so ahead. However, if she was really drunk she could see further ahead and more avenues of possible events that were clearer than they normally would be.

“Do they cause a lot of trouble?” Angela adjusted the way she was sitting in the cab so she was leaning up against the right-hand side. That same warning, she gets when there is danger near her was being persistent right now.

A few seconds after she moves away from behind Charley and before Charley could respond to her question, another car slams right into the door behind Charley. She braces as the cab spins around and she could feel how afraid and scared Charley was as he tried to control the cab.
Angela heard the glass break, as she shielded her face with her hands to block the flying glass fragments. Tires squealed as the brakes were applied and she heard Charley curse as the airbag deployed to prevent him from hitting the steering wheel. There was a strong smell of anti-freeze and smoke in the air. She could hear and feel people’s anxiety levels near her and Charley. She could hear sirens as they got closer to her. She was feeling scared as she felt unknown hands grab for her. Her cane wasn’t anywhere nearby.

“You’re coming with me my dear.”

Angela felt an unknown hand tighten around her wrist as the unknown person tried to pull her out of the cab.

“No!” Angela kicks at the person trying to grab her.

The hand that was holding her tightens its grip to the point where it felt like whoever or whatever it was, was going to break her arm.

“Stopping fighting little girl, my Master wants you and you will be coming with me.” Daniel knew his master wanted this girl, why he didn’t know, but he knew his Master said that she was important to him.

“No!” Angela kicks harder. Her foot strikes Daniel’s face and she feels his grip let go of her.

Daniel lets go as soon as he feels her foot strike his face, he screams as his nose breaks and blood run towards his mouth.

“You little bitch!” He tries to grab her foot again, but misses.

“Get away from me.” Angela brings her feet closer to her body to keep them out of his reach.
Daniel could hear sirens coming closer and people rushing to help.

“This isn’t over, little girl.” Daniel turns and runs away from the crash scene.

Tears stream down Angela’s face as she trembles, she felt his anger and knew she was in danger. She needed to get to Cassandra Powell now.

Cassandra looks over at Angela as she sat before her in her office. Officer Dean had brought her to her after he explained about her being in a car accident. The poor girl had her arms bandaged up from broken glass shards flying towards her. There was a bandaged cut that was bandage on her forehead and blood on her purple polo shirt. Cassandra had looked at her aura and saw how pure it was. She saw that there were some bad spots on her where damage had been done.

“Officer Dean told me that you were on your way here, when the cab you were in was attacked. Is there a reason you were coming to see me?” Cassandra knew officer Dean well.

“Yes ma’am. I was guided here to you for help, I possess some gifts with which I need your help learning how to control them, because they have become stronger than they used to be.” Angela had tried to read Cassandra’s mind, but encountered a wall surrounding it.

Cassandra had felt a touch on her mental barriers, she could tell it was coming from Angela.

“You do know it is rude to read people’s thoughts without their permission, don’t you?” A playful smile had appeared on her face.

“I’m sorry. It’s just common practice for me to know to whom I am talking. Since I can’t see, I rely on my gift to tell me if the person means me any harm and who they are.” Angela looks towards where Cassandra’s voice came from.

“I understand. I imagine it’s hard for you to be around people and not be able to see them. If you don’t mind me asking, were you born blind or did you lose your sight because of an accident?” Cassandra had taken her legal pad out of her desk to write down what Angela tells her.

“I lost my sight because of my gifts. I was just ten years old when my gifts first manifested themselves. I told my parents and they thought I was possessed by a demon and made me drink holy water, they didn’t know that the water had been contaminated. I lost my eyesight because of the contaminants in the water. When I tried to tell them I wasn’t possessed, they wouldn’t listen to me. So, I slowly lost my sight as they continued to make me drink the holy water. I had to trick my parents into believing I couldn’t hear other people’s thoughts.” Angela wipes away the tears that had started to slide down her cheeks.

Cassandra felt sorry for Angela “how did you learn about me?”

“I didn’t know anything about you. I just knew from my father and his friends that there were several witch covens in this area and that the
Hunter organization had most of them under observation. I didn’t learn about you, till I arrived in Charlottesville at the bus station. Whoever or whatever has been guiding me has been telling me I should come and see you. I know it sounds weird, but for some reason whatever the spirit is that is guiding me is certain that you can help me with my gifts.” Angela felt relaxed in her presence.

“Your father is part of the Hunter organization?” Cassandra knew there were members of the Hunter organization here in Charlottesville, but she didn’t know they were under observation.

“He’s a preacher of a southern Baptist church. The only reason he got the job in the first place is because he was a member of the organization. My mother is a firm believer in the organization’s goals and beliefs. I had to get away from them, because they had plans on using me to help search for supernatural creatures.” Angela recalls the conversion her mother and father had with several of their friends about training her to locate supernatural creatures for the organization. If she hadn’t left the night she did, she would have been taken to be trained.

It was bad enough that she barely had any control of her gifts, but she didn’t want to use them to hurt other people.

“Well, that explains a few things. Can you tell me what this spirit feels like to you and why it is looking after you?” Cassandra was wondering why a spirit would take an interest in this girl.

“I don’t know why it is looking after me, but for some reason it feels like I would benefit from your training and more. It also misses you and feels sorry for not being nicer to you and your husband before it died. I guess it’s trying to make amends by helping me.” Angela felt that was what the spirit looking over her was trying to do. It was trying to make amends for the pain it caused Cassandra.

Cassandra was shocked. It had to be her niece, who had died in a car accident a few years ago. They had a few heated words before she left the house angry and got in a car that her boyfriend had driven, in which to pick her up. They found out an hour later that they had been in an accident and that her niece’s boyfriend had been drunk.

“If you’re willing to live by my rules, you can stay with me. That means going to school, keeping your room clean and doing chores around the house. As for your training, I’m going to test you to see how powerful your gifts are and how much control you have over them so far. I’m also going to see what gifts you have as well. So far it seems you possess medium-ship and telepathy. As for the guy who attacked you today, we’ll leave him to my husband to find.” Cassandra was looking at Angela with her magical sense.

“I’m also able to predict the future some. Normally, it’s only a few hours, but if I drink a lot of alcohol. I can stretch that even further and give you a clearer reading.” She felt that Cassandra should know this.

“Well, we’ll see about testing you for that young lady, but no more drinking alcohol. You might as well turn over the flask I know you have in your backpack.” A motherly smile appears on Cassandra’s face.

“How did you know I was carrying a flask?” Angela was amazed that she knew.

“Let’s just say I scanned you when you came into the shop. Plus, you told me that if you drunk a lot of alcohol your visions became better, so I figure you carried some with you, since you’re too young to buy any.” Cassandra watched Angela’s reaction.

“When was the last time you ate something?” Cassandra reaches down for her purse from the bottom drawer.

“Yesterday evening ma’am” Angela could hear Cassandra as she moved and closed the bottom drawer in her desk.

“Well, let’s go and get some food in you and we’ll talk some more about your experience so far.” Cassandra stands up and walks over to
Angela. She offers her hand to her too help her up.

She takes Cassandra’s hand, and holds onto as she leads her out to a SUV. Angela fastens her seatbelt and listens as Cassandra climbs in next to her, she could feel something strange about the SUV. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but it was like there was something unusual about the way it felt.

Cassandra watched as Angela held her hand a few inches off the dash of her car. She wondered if Angela was picking up on the magical spell she had cast on her SUV to protect those inside it, as she drove it each day.

Cassandra starts the SUV and backs out of her parking spot.

“So? Is there anything that you would like for lunch?” Cassandra straightens up the SUV and heads away from her store.

“A tasty sub would be nice.” Angela turns her head towards Cassandra, as if looking at her.

“A sub, I think I know just the place.” Cassandra heads for her and her husband’s favorite Subway shop.

“So, Angela, from where did you travel?” Cassandra was busy driving and thought asking Angela a few questions would help to get to know
her.

“A small town called White Sulphur Springs. It’s not very big and a lot of people don’t know about it. We don’t get a lot of big businesses or high-ranking officials coming through there, but it is a nice peaceful place. The mayor tries to keep the old time southern culture alive, instead of progressing with the rest of the world. It’s a good place to come and relax and get away. There are sulphur springs nearby and most of the people believe the water has medicinal properties. The town itself isn’t very big, and everyone knows everyone. My father is the pastor of the only Baptist church in the town and it’s also supernatural free.” Angela rests her back against the seat of the SUV. She was short and really didn’t take up any of the space where she was sitting.

“Do your parents know that you have run away?” Cassandra concentrates on driving as she glances over towards Angela.

“They probably do by now. I should have been home yesterday evening, I couldn’t think of a way to make it seem that this was their idea. My suggestions only work if the person doesn’t resist too much. I haven’t had any images yet of my parents taking any sort of action to locate me, so I don’t know if they are looking for me or not.” Angela was sure her parents weren’t looking for her.

“What do you mean by your suggestions?” Cassandra was curious.

“I mean I can plant subliminal suggestions in a person mind to get them to do what I want them to do. However, the stronger the will a person has, the harder it is for me to do it. I normally do it when a person is asleep, that way they don’t resist too much.” Angela was proud she had figured out how to do that with her gifts.

“So, you can plant subliminal suggestions into people then. That is unique.” Cassandra wonders what else the girl could do.

“That’s only one other aspect of my abilities. You already know about the medium-ship. I was born with several other different types of abilities.
As you already know, I can read people’s minds, I can move things with my mind and locate someone, if I have something they owned in my possession. I can predict the future, but it changes all the time, so I can only give you the ones I feel strongly about if it doesn’t concern me. If it concerns me, I can see up to two hours in advance. If I need to pinpoint which path a person should take, clearly, I have to be totally drunk. I found out that when I am drunk, my ability to read people’s minds is muddled.” Angela leans against the side of the wall of the truck and relaxed.

“Do you ever get overwhelm with having so many abilities?” Cassandra figures she would.

“Yes! Sometimes, I wish I was never born with all these abilities; they have been a blessing and a curse at the same time. I wish I could see colors again and the sky with my own eyes, instead of looking through other people’s eyes. It also bothers me when I hear other people’s secrets as well. Who wants to know what type of underwear a person is wearing or if the person is wearing any underwear at all. What the person is like in bed or how big his penis is or if he is willing to cheat on his wife and other things like that? It’s disorienting hearing people’s desires and fears.

“I think I know how you feel. We have a few people in our coven with gifts like yours, but not at the levels you have them. We’ll get something to eat first and then I’ll take you home so you can meet my husband and we’ll get you settled in.” Cassandra feels she is going to have her work cut out for her helping Angela. They needed to find who as well it was that had tried to kidnap her.

Angela sits quietly as Cassandra drove. She tried to memorize the turns they took to get to the restaurant at which Cassandra pulled up.

“I hope you’re extremely hungry kiddo, because the food here will fill you up.” Cassandra pulls the SUV up into a parking spot close to the restaurant and shuts the engine off.

Angela could already feel people’s emotions from the restaurant. She concentrates on making her wall stronger as Cassandra helped her out of the SUV. She took her hand and the two of them walked towards the restaurant.

When they entered, they were shown to a table and Cassandra ordered a nice Philly cheese steak for Angela and a hot Italian sausage for herself.

Cassandra saw the weary look on her face trying to keep everyone out of her head. She removes her pentagram from around her neck and hands it to Angela.

“Here slip this around your neck, it will help in keeping people’s thoughts out of your head.” Cassandra presses her hand into Angela’s when she reaches for Cassandra’s.

Angela felt the shape of the pentagram and the small crystal attached to it. She puts the necklace around her neck and as soon as it touches her skin, it blocks everyone out of her head, so she could relax.

“Thank you.” Tears were sliding down her cheek.

“You’re welcome, why don’t you keep it? When you need to use your gifts, just remove the pentagram from the clasp right here.” Cassandra guides Angela’s hand to the clasp and lets her find out how to remove it on her own.

After about fifteen minutes, the waitress returns with their order and both sit there making general chit-chat about other things than gifts and such.

Angela couldn’t finish half of her Philly cheese steak or half her onion rings. So, they ended up taking them back to Cassandra’s house, which she wishes she could see.

When they pulled into the long driveway, she could smell the scent of all sorts of flowers drifting her way from the house. She could hear water trickling over rocks and the smell of pine in the air. Cool air as it blew, passed over her exposed skin. She felt the SUV stop and the movement of the window as it rises up to close.

“Home, sweet home.” Cassandra unlocks Angela’s door and watches as she opens it and gets out slowly using the door for support and her cane to tell her where to place her feet.

She felt the smooth surface of the driveway under her feet when she stepped down. She knew Cassandra had her backpack, along with the rest of their lunch, she runs her hand along the surface of the SUV as she walks around the front of it to where Cassandra was waiting for her.

“Your flowers smell wonderful, what color are the roses that you are growing?” She had picked up on the scent of the roses when she walked around the front of the SUV.

“I have two red ones and two white ones.” Cassandra looks at her face to see how she was doing.

“They smell nice, along with everything else. The environment here is so peaceful. I like the wind chime you have hanging in the backyard. The sound it makes is pleasant, not annoying like most are.” Angela could feel herself enjoying living here already.

“Well, if you like the outside, then you’re going to like the inside as well.” Cassandra escorts her up to the front door and opens it, she taps her cane from the SUV to the front door, when she was inside she taps it, while letting Cassandra guide her. Cassandra takes it slow as she guides her around the house, she shows her each room and lets her get a feel for the room, before moving onto the next one.

Cassandra leads her to the bedroom in which she would be sleeping, it was next to her own.

“You’ll have your own bathroom.” Cassandra guides Angela to the bathroom and shows her how to work everything and where the towels and wash clothes are.

“Is there any type of shampoo or soap you like using?” Cassandra had smelled only regular soap on Angela. “I like whatever it is you used or have in here already. It’s not too strong and has a pleasant scent to it.”

“Its sweet pea scented shampoo and conditioner, the soap is Olay; I think you’ll like it. Is there a particular way you like to lay out your clothes, so you know where they are?” Cassandra had taken Angela’s backpack and was unloading it.

“Yes ma’am, but there’s not much in my backpack, except two pair of jeans, a change of underwear, socks, and two more polo shirts like the one I have on, but in a dark blue and a black one.” Angela sits down on the bed and looks in Cassandra’s direction.

“We’re going to have to take you shopping and get you some more clothes tomorrow. So, how do you like your clothes arranged?” She pulls open the dresser drawers.

“Underwear to the right of the drawer, socks to the left and my bras in the middle. Second drawer is reserved for my nightshirts or nightgowns. The third drawer is where my t-shirts are to the left side of the drawer and polo shirts to the right. Fourth drawer is dress pants to the left, my blue jeans to the right and shorts in the middle. The rest is hung up and labeled with a special tag.” she was sure she had everything remembered right.

“Well, that should work. How do you know what color you have on?” Cassandra has never had a blind person staying with her before.

“I normally have a tag inserted into the collar to let me know, or I look through my mother’s eyes to see what I look like. Most of the time my mother dressed me in whatever she wanted me to wear, she didn’t want me to embarrass her when we went out in public.” She remembers the rough treatment her mother would give her as she dressed her.

“If you like, I could lay the clothes out for you the night before to make it easier for you. I’ll just stack them here on the corner of the dresser for you, starting with your underwear downwards.” Cassandra didn’t want Angela to feel useless, but wanted to help her.

“I don’t want to be a burden to you, it would make it easier for me, but as long as we tag each piece, I’ll know what color they are.” Angela didn’t want to be a burden to Cassandra or feel helpless either.

“It’s not a burden. Why don’t we do it this way? I’ll lay things out for you for about a week and then leave you to decide how you want to dress yourself for the next two days, Okay?” Cassandra already had a few outfits in mind that would look nice on her.

“Okay. That sounds reasonable. There’s a large vehicle pulling up outside right now.” Angela turns her head towards the window through which the sound was coming.

“That would be my husband.” Cassandra puts away Angela’s clothes and escorts Angela back into the living room to meet her husband.

Angela could hear a big powerful pick-up truck come up the long drive, she listened as it parked next to the SUV and the engine was turned off. She wasn’t afraid, but she did wonder what Cassandra’s husband looked like, she couldn’t use her abilities to probe him, because of the necklace around her neck. She listened intently as he walked up the stone path and as he turned the doorknob and walked in. Angela could smell his after-shave when the door opened.

Vince had heard from Dean about the accident this afternoon and about the young girl who had been involved. He had looked into her background after Dean gave him the information and told him that he had dropped her off at his wife’s shop. Vince read a police report on the person that had caused the accident and found out that he was a known drug pusher. His name was David Spinster and he worked for one of the vampires here in the city. Why they had wanted the girl, he didn’t know, but he knew she was safe with his wife inside the house.

“Honey, I’m home.” Vince saw his wife’s SUV parked outside when he pulled up.

“We’re in the living room.” Cassandra had sat down on the sofa with Angela.

Vince walks in and notices that his wife and the girl he had been told about were sitting on the sofa. He had to admit, she was a lovely little girl.
He could see that she had some blood on her polo shirt and that both her arms were covered bandages. The police report Dean gave him, said that she had blocked her face with her arms to keep the broken glass away from her.

Cassandra stands up and walks over to her husband and gives him a kiss.

“Vince, I would like to introduce Angela Fox.” Cassandra turns to face her “Angela, I would like you to meet my husband Vince Allen Powell.”

“Nice to meet you, sir” Angela sticks her hand out to shake Vince’s hand.

“Thank you.” He takes Angela’s petite hand in his own and shakes it. He sees the scars on top of her hand.

Angela gets a good vibe from Vince when she touched his hand. She couldn’t read his mind, because of the necklace, but she could feel he was a good person from his aura.

All three sit down, Cassandra sits next to Angela and Vince sits across from her in his favorite chair.

“Angela, do your parents know you have run away and came up here to us?” Vince didn’t see any missing person reports about her when he ran her name through the system.

“No sir. I don’t think they will file one, considering the abuse I suffered from them. They might send their friends from the Hunter Organization looking for me, but they won’t report me missing to the police.” Angela was pretty sure they wouldn’t. The feeling she was getting was right about that.

“Why would the Hunter organization be interested in you?” Vince had a feeling he wasn’t going to like the answer.

“Because the Hunter organization could use my gifts, to track down people like you and other supernaturals. I have a very powerful telepathic ability. They don’t know about my other abilities and if they found out, I could easily lead them to you and others.” Angela felt a cold chill when she said those words.

“Why don’t you start from the beginning and tell me everything please.” Vince takes his notebook out to record what Angela tells him.

Angela starts from the beginning and while she is talking with Vince, Cassandra heads into the kitchen to start dinner. Since she and Angela had a heavy lunch, she fixes a light dinner for them. Cassandra listens while Vince questions Angela in a fatherly way.

Angela sits on the swing bench in the backyard reading a braille book Cassandra had brought her last week. Things had been good for Angela since she arrived here. Cassandra has been treating her like her own daughter and Vince has been the father she has always wanted. They took her to the fair yesterday and she had the time of her life. Cassandra and Vince had bought her a new wardrobe and set her bedroom up so she could move around easily, without bumping into things. They even rearrange the living room and the other rooms so she could move about without hitting her knees or stubbing her toes on the furniture legs.

She was supposed to start school in about another week. They were waiting on her school records and medical records from her home state. Vince put the request in through the police department. That way no one could say anything. Sometimes she went to work with Cassandra and helped in the store dusting or answering the phone. She didn’t mind doing the work, she enjoyed it. Angela stops what she is doing when she feels a strange energy in the air. Something didn’t feel right to her. She closes her book and gets up off the swing and walks down a path that lead down towards a huge weeping willow tree that grew in the backyard. She goes through the curtain of limbs hanging down and kneels at an opening at the foot of the tree.

This was where she was feeling the strange energy. The energy didn’t feel threatening, but different. She stretches her hands forward and felt something soft and warm brush against her finger tips. She could feel the energy she was feeling coming from it. It brushes itself against her finger tips again and sent a tingling sensation up her arms. Angela stretches her hand forward a little more this time the creature that had been brushing against her fingers let’s her pet it’s soft fur. To Angela, it felt like she was petting a cat. Its fur was extremely warm, like it had been basking in the sun. Its purring was loud as she strokes its soft fur. Angela picks it up and continues to stroke it as she walks out from under the weeping willow branches.

Cassandra was at work right now and so was Vince. Angela was allowed to stay home by herself today, but had both their numbers in a cell phone that Cassandra had brought and programmed for her, so that she only had to press one button to make a call. She heads back over to the swing where she had been sitting at before and sits down with her new pet in her lap.

Kadyn had spotted the blind human girl she had been sent to protect. The poor thing didn’t know her life was in danger from some bad creatures that wanted to exploit her gifts for their benefit. The spirit that had guided the girl here had done her a good job of placing her with a good family that could protect and train her. However, she has been sent to become her familiar and watch over her. Her goddess has taken a special interest in this girl and wanted her to protect her. So, she went ahead and made her presence felt for the girl. She’ll explain to her goddess worshippers why she was sent here to protect the girl, but for now she’ll enjoy the attention the girl is giving her.

Angela was enjoying her new pet. She kept petting the kitty cat she found while she laid on her lap as she finishes reading the book Cassandra gave her. It was all about centering and how to from a mental wall to keep other thoughts out of her head. Cassandra was going to work with her tonight when she got home. Vince was working on a case and wouldn’t be home till later. Angela never had a pet before and for some reason felt even more protected with this cat on her lap. Angela’s wrist watch beeped and spoke the time for her. It was a neat little device that Cassandra had found on line. The only time it announces the time was on the hour. If she wanted to know what time it was, she would press the top right button and it would speak the time itself. Angela rearranges the way she is sitting on the bench, so that she is laying length wise and let her new pet rest on her belly while she continues reading and petting.

Cassandra comes home and notices that the front door was still lock. Which is what she told Angela to do? She unlocks the door and announces her arrival to let Angela know she was home. She doesn’t hear anything and heads towards the back yard where Angela has been spending a lot of her time reading and enjoying the sun shine lately. When she walks outside and looks over towards the swing, where she knew Angela likes to sit and read, she spots Angela lying down on the bench of the swing sound asleep with a black and red color cat, the size of a bobcat curled up on Angela’s stomach. Curiously, Cassandra walks over to see what type of cat it is that is sitting on Angela’s stomach.

Kadyn had felt her charge fall asleep thirty minutes ago. She had closed her eye and was going to take a little cat nap as well. She had heard the vehicle pull up in the drive at the front of the house and the presence as it had moved about the house and came outside. She knew that this was one of her goddess worshipers and the mother figure to the girl. She waited till she was closer, before opening her eyes and looking towards her.

When Cassandra got closer to the swing, she felt the magical energies given off by the cat sitting on Angela’s stomach. She watched as it opens its eyes and looked directly at her.

Cassandra stops when she notices how its eyes glow gold when she got close to Angela’s sleeping body.

“What are you?” Cassandra looks at the cat and was preparing to defend herself if she needed to. Right now, she was concern about Angela’s
safety.

“It doesn’t matter what I am. I have been sent by the goddess Freya to look over and protect this innocent girl. Are you not a worshipper of my goddess?”

“Yes, I am. But why would the goddess take an interest in Angela?” Cassandra had read old folk stories about the goddess taking an interest in warriors of the past, but nothing recently.

“That is something I do not know. The goddess doesn’t always explain herself to those that server her. She has task me with looking after this innocent. All I do know is that there are those that mean this girl harm and will do whatever needs to be done to attain her. She is safe here on this land and safe at your shop, but anywhere else, she isn’t. When you send her to school, I can accompany her. I am big enough that they won’t say anything and I have papers stating I am trained as a guide animal.” Kadyn wasn’t going to let this girl out of her sight.
Cassandra couldn’t believe what she was hearing inside her head. Her goddess had sent this cat to look over Angela.

“Does Angela know what you are or why you have been sent to her?” Cassandra was concern about how Angela would feel.

“No, I haven’t told her yet about why I am here or what I am. It might be best to keep it secret till she is ready. She has lived a very shelter abusive life and throwing all of this at her at once, might scare her more then she is already.” Kadyn had felt the fear that Angela had inside of her. She was scared that her parents might find her and take her away from Cassandra and Vince. She was also concern or scared of the guy that had tried to kidnap her when she was in the cab.

“What is it that she fears?” Cassandra could guess that she might fear the guy that tried to kidnap her. Her husband hasn’t found him yet.

“Being taken away from you and your husband, and she is also scared of that guy that tried to kidnap her when she first got here. He is still out there, waiting to take her from you. He has been watching your place of work and here as well. He knows he can’t step foot on your land without being informed of his presence, so he’s going to buy his time to get her. She’ll be easy to get to when she is in school.” Kadyn had already seen a few attempts on her in dreams.

“Maybe I should home school her then?” Cassandra could home school Angela if she had too.

“That would be unwise. She’s looking forward to going to school again and making friends. She misses not being around other kids her age.” Kadyn pretty much knew everything about Angela. Her hopes and desires and things she wanted to do.

Cassandra hadn’t counted on Angela becoming attaché to her and her husband. True, she was becoming attaché to Angela.

“You might want to make her legally your daughter. She is better off here with you and your husband, then she would be with any other family. Her gifts make her unique and there are only a few people around that can train her to use them. The goddess placed her with you, because you have always wanted children of your own. Neither you nor your husband can produce your own. She is the next best thing to being your own child. She can give you the grandchildren you wish fore and it would give her the parents she should had been born too. Fate played a cruel trick on both of you, but in the long run you would get your heart desirer. The niece you lost knew you loved her, but she had made her choice and had to see it to the end. She’ll be reborn one day.” Kadyn knew that much about Cassandra’s niece.

Cassandra could feel a tear slide down her cheek. So, it had been her niece who had guided Angela to them. Cassandra comes closer to
Angela and kneels and brushes a strand of her hair out of her closed eyes.

“How long has she been asleep?” Cassandra looks towards Kadyn. She knew the cat’s name now.

“She’s been asleep for half-n-hour. She was reading the book you gave her, when she drifted off to sleep. I think my purring and my warmth relaxed her. Kadyn gives a mental chuckle.

“Let her sleep a little longer. Watch over her while I’m inside making dinner please.” Cassandra looks into Kadyn golden eyes.

“I will. Could you set a bowl of tuna and milk down for me please?” Kadyn was hungry and she preferred fish. Can tuna was alright to eating fresh tuna.

Cassandra stands back up “I think I can do that. Do I need to buy a litter box for you?”

“Please, I can teleport outside to use the yard if I need to.” Kadyn was only going to act like a common house cat to a point.

Cassandra chuckles when she felt Kadyn mental attitude about her question.

“Sorry. I just needed to know, just in case you needed to go and do nature’s business.” She looks down at Kadyn. She notices Kadyn had closed her eyes and was watching Angela’s face.

“It’s alright. I’ll let you know if there anything special I need or want. You might want to stock up on tuna, cream or milk. I do enjoy those items and catnip as well.” Kadyn gives Cassandra a teasing feeling.

Cassandra just shakes her head and heads back inside to fix dinner. She couldn’t believe the path her life was taking now. She’ll have to discuss all of this with Vince, who already was attaché to Angela as if he had always been her father.
Kadyn peeks open her eyes and watched as Cassandra heads back to the house. She liked her and could feel that Cassandra was going to be happy with the future that had shown itself to Kadyn.

Kadyn looks at Angela’s peaceful face “as for you my young charge. I see a bright future with a loving husband and many children, but first there are trails and dangers you must first overcome.”

Angela was excited as Cassandra drove her to school. She couldn’t wait to meet her teachers and make new friends. She knew it was going to be difficult because she couldn’t see, but she had Kadyn with her acting as her guide animal. The school officials were amazed at how big and trained Kadyn was. They had never seen a cat as big as she was. Everybody thought she was a pixie-bob, since she looked like a bobcat. The people that were allergic to cats weren’t around Kadyn.

“Angela, I’ll be by to pick you up from school today. I want you to get your teachers to sign your homework book and we’ll work on it after dinner. Also, make sure you feed Kadyn at lunch time when you have your lunch. Your gym uniform is in your backpack, along with your gym shoes and a lock for your locker. Be careful and enjoy yourself sweetie.” Cassandra leans over and places a kiss on Angela’s cheek.

“I will mom.” Angela smiles when she says that and exist the suv with Kadyn on a leash. Kadyn leads Angela across the ground and inside the school.

Cassandra watches as Kadyn leads Angela across the parking lot and then the grass field and then inside the school. Kadyn informed her that
Angela would have no problems today. It would be a while before the guy that attacked her would make his move again.

Kadyn notices the looks of the other children watching them. She smiles because this was funny to her. Angela kept up with her as they walked.

“You’re in a hurry Kadyn. Is something wrong?” Angela had felt how fast Kadyn was moving.

Kadyn slows down and takes a more relaxed pace. She’ll let Angela enjoy herself as she walks into school.

Carol and Gloria couldn’t believe what they were seeing. The new blind girl was being led by the biggest cat they had ever seen. It wasn’t as big as the large cats, but this one was huge and had unusual coloration. They have never seen a cat with dark red fur and black strips before.
They watched as it leads the new girl to her first class. The two of them were going to the same class.

When they walk in, they notice the new girl talking with Ms. Smith and her handing some papers to the girl and signing some sort of note book. They watch as they take their seat as the new girl sits near the front. The cat lies down near her feet out of the way.

Ms. Smith conducts her class, after introducing Angela to everyone. Angela follows along in her braille math book. After class, they go to homeroom and Carol and Gloria finds out that the new girl has the same classes as they do.

Angela was enjoying herself. All her teachers were helpful and signed her homework book, so Cassandra could go over the homework with her. Cassandra had made her a lunch, so she headed to a table and took out her lunch and Kadyn’s lunch. She fixes Kadyn’s lunch before she starts on her own.

Kadyn watches as the two girls that had been watching Angela all morning comes walking over to the table where she was eating.

“Excuse me? Would you mind if I and my friend join you for lunch, Angela?” Gloria wanted to get to know Angela better and her cat.

“No, please have a seat.” Angela had looked up at Gloria’s voice when she heard her.

Both girls sit down near Angela.

“Thanks. I’m Gloria Williams and I’m Carol Wang.” Carol announces her name after Gloria.

“We’ve never seen a cat like yours before. What breed is he?” Carol was curious.

Angela just smiles “Kadyn is a she and a rare Pixie-bobcat” Angela reaches down and scratches Kadyn near her ears.

“Oh! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to call her, a him it’s just hard to tell the difference between a male cat and a female cat. Especially one that is as unique as Kadyn.” Gloria looks down at Kadyn and notice that she was enjoying having her ears scratch.

“Do you think she’ll mind me petting her?” Carol wanted to touch her and see how soft her fur was.

“I don’t think she’ll mind. She loves attention.” Angela knew that was true about Kadyn.

Kadyn didn’t mind. She loved the attention she was getting right now. She could tell Carol had cats at home. She could smell their scent on
Carol clothes. She could smell the scent of dogs and cats on Gloria.

Carol couldn’t believe how warm and soft Kadyn’s fur was. It was as soft as silk.

“She has soft fur. Is it natural for her or did you use something to make her fur this soft?” Carol loved the feel of Kadyn’s fur.

“She’s normally like that. Kadyn is a very rare type of cat.” Angela pets Kadyn some more.

The three girls eat lunch together and make small talk. Angela finds out things about them and she tells them things about her. Kadyn watches as her charge interacts with the other two girls. She closes her eyes and rest while the girls talk about all sorts of things. She wakes up when she hears the lunch bell ring.

Angela’s next class was gym. Gloria and Carol got her a locker near theirs and helped her changed out of her street clothes and into her gym clothes. Kadyn examines the other girls in the locker room while Angela is getting dress and notice she looks like a eight or ten year old girl, compare to some of the other girls. Even Angela’s new friends Gloria and Carol were more develop then she was. Kadyn follows the three girls out into the gym.

Mrs. Habel watches as the girls came out of the locker room. She had been informed about her new student, who was blind and that she had her guide animal with her. She spotted her right away. She couldn’t believe how small she looked and how big the cat was walking beside her.

“Alright ladies, fall in. Let’s warm-up before we start playing volleyball. Angela, you can sit the valley ball game out if you want too.” Mrs. Habel figure she wouldn’t want to play.

“Mrs. Habel, I would like to play if I could, please.” Angela looks towards where Mrs. Habel voice came from.

“Suit yourself, but if you get hurt, don’t come crying to me.” Mrs. Habel figures, if she wants to play, she’ll let her.

“I won’t.” Angela wanted to be like all the other girls.

Kadyn smiles as she watches her human workout with the other girls and then when they broke into teams, she got to be on the same team as her new friends. Kadyn helps her by giving her mental signals to when the ball was coming towards her.

Angela felt the mental warning when the ball was coming towards her. She smacks the ball back and wonders where the warnings were coming from. She had her necklace on, so she knew it wasn’t her abilities guiding her. The energy felt familiar, like it did when she found Kadyn. She keeps enjoying herself playing ball. A few times she trips on her own feet and falls and hurts her knee, but she gets back up and plays on. By the time class is done, she has been smacked in the face, fell on her knees several times and sprained her wrist hitting the ball wrong and landing wrong on the floor. Angela didn’t care; she had fun and was taken down to the nurse for her to look at her knees and wrist.

Kadyn had to admit her human had guts and seemed to enjoy playing. She had watched as Carol and Gloria took Angela back to the locker room and helped her to the showers and helped her get redress after taking the shower.

She followed beside her as they went to the nurse and let her look at Angela’s injuries. When the nurse asked if she should call her mother,
Angela said no. She wanted to finish school. So, the nurse gave her some aspirin and bandaged her wrist and knee’s up.

Angela finishes up her classes for the day and when Cassandra comes to pick her up, she meets Angela two new friends.

“Well, it looks like you had fun today.” Cassandra looks over at Angela and saw a smile on her face.

“I had fun today, mom. The coach wanted me to sit out from playing volleyball, but I wanted to play. I don’t want to be sitting on the sidelines while everyone else is having fun. I know I’m blind, but I want to have fun as well.” Angela turns towards Cassandra.

“I know sweetie, but now you have to sit on the sidelines. Your wrist is sprained and your knees are bruised. If it was just your knees I would let you play, but it’s also your wrist. I don’t want you to hurt your wrist any more then how it is right now. You make matter worse if you keep playing.” Cassandra could feel how Angela felt. She knew Angela hadn’t had any fun and now she wanted to do everything she could.

“It’s not fair.” Angela huffs and sits back in her seat.

“I’ll tell you what. Why don’t we go horseback riding this week end? You can invite your friends to come along. Afterwards, we’ll go out for dinner or something.” Cassandra wanted Angela to be happy.

“Okay mom.” Angela lightens up some. She still wanted to have fun in gym class.

The next day was pretty much the same, except Angela’s new friends met her when she arrived at school and the three of them hung together before heading to class. Angela was enjoying her classes and most of the students were nice and didn’t give her any problems. Her teachers were accommodating of her blindness and worked with her.

In gym class she took it easy because of her sprained wrist. Her knees were black and blue, but she didn’t know that. She did do the warm-up routine with the class and ran a few laps around the gym with Kadyn running with her. Mrs. Habel was impressed with Angela’s determination to not allow her disability to confine her. When Angela went to the locker room to change from her gym clothes, one of the girls spots her
necklace that Cassandra gave her to wear.

“Angela, that’s an interesting necklace, what is it?” The girl was curious about Angela’s necklace.

“It’s a pentagram made with a smoky quartz crystal in it. My mother gave it to me.” Angela fingers the silver surface of the pentagram.

“Doesn’t that represent the devil?” Another girl who wore a silver cross around her neck spoke up.

“No, it means my mother worships nature. Each point of the star represents an element found in nature and in ourselves. There’s nothing evil about it.” Angela remembers asking her mother about it.

“Oh, okay.” The girl goes back to getting dress.

Angela finishes dressing as well with the help of her friends and is lead out of the locker room by Kadyn. They go to her last class, which is Earth science. After class, Angela goes and meets up with her mother who was waiting outside for her.

“Did you have a nice day, sweetie?” Cassandra looks towards Kadyn to see what she has to say.

“She did fine today. She stayed with her friends all day long and behaved herself during gym. We ran a few laps and took part in the exercise.”

“I did what you said mom and invited my friends over for this weekend. They have to check with their parents to make sure it was okay with them.” Angela was happy her new friends might be able to make it.

Kadyn just curls up on Angela’s lap and takes a catnap as Angela pets her on the way home. Cassandra has been enjoying having Angela living with her and her husband. She enjoyed being called mom and she knew that Vince was enjoying being called dad or father as well.

Angela stills her hand as she hears several motorcycles approaching them from behind at high speeds. Something about this didn’t feel right.
A strange sensation comes over Cassandra as the magic she infused in her suv gives her a warning. She had seen Angela stop petting Kadyn as well.

“Angela, roll your window up please.” Cassandra mumbles something under her breath as she watches Angela out of the corner of her eyes rolling her window up.

Kadyn lifts her head up when she felt magical energies surround her. She stands up on Angela’s lap, being careful not to dig her claws into Angela’s thighs.

“Mom, why did I just feel your magic?” Angela was getting scared. She felt magic surround the suv and Kadyn standing up on her lap.
The suv rocks from the force of explosions hitting near it. Angela could hear bullets bouncing off the magical field protecting the suv. Angela grabs Kadyn as she starts to feel scared from all the noise surrounding her.

Cassandra does her best to out race the bikers that have surrounded her suv. She knew that this group were members of one of the gangs that roam near Charlottesville. She does her best to keep from losing control of the suv. A powerful explosion underneath the suv sends the suv rolling over and over down a slight hill.

Angela screams as the suv rolls. One of her school books escape from her book bag and hit her on the side of her head.

Cassandra tries to summon up more magical energies to keep the fire she was feeling outside of the suv from igniting the broken gas line.

Kadyn was doing what she could for Angela, protecting her from debris and harm as they rolled.

The suv stops rolling and Cassandra could hear movement outside of the suv. She was doing everything she could to keep some sort of shield up to protect her, Angela and Kadyn.

“Give us the girl and we’ll let you live witch.” One of the motorcycle gang members had gotten off his motorcycle and walked down to where the suv had stopped.

Cassandra was trying to get free, but couldn’t. She looks out her broken window towards the guy walking towards her.

“She’s under my protection. You cannot have her. Go tell your Master that I will defend her with my life.” Cassandra was trying to get free to cast a spell towards him.

“It doesn’t matter to him if you live or die. He wants the girl. I have no problem killing you witch.” He starts walking closer towards the suv.

“Angela, stay here and help Cassandra get free.” Kadyn speaks mentally to Angela.

Angela couldn’t believe she just heard another voice. The energies felt familiar to her, like those that surrounded Kadyn’s body. She felt Kadyn rub her cheek against hers and then nothing.

Kadyn comes out from the wreckage of the suv and stands between the motorcycle gang members and the suv. She summons the flames from the suv and have it surround her body as she grows. More flames appear around her body as she grows to the size of a lion with the flames surrounding her body.

“I suggest you leave now, before there’s nothing left of you.” Kadyn wasn’t going to let anything happen to her charge.

The biker just looks at the creature standing before him. He had never seen anything like it before, but he wasn’t going to disappoint his Master. He and his men had been chosen to complete the job Daniel had been hired to do. They were given a strong batch of ruby to complete their assignment.

The other bikers pointed their guns down at Kadyn and started opening fire on her.

Cassandra summoned more magical energies to protect her and Angela, who now was doing everything she could to get untangle from the seat belt holding her in.

Kadyn just smiles and starts attacking the gang. Screams fill the air as Kadyn attack the men sent to kill her charges.

Angela could hear the screams and gun fire. She hears a loud roar and smell brunt flesh in the air.

“Mom, I’m scared.” Angela crawls over towards Cassandra and wraps her arms around her. Her petite body trembles from fright as she listens to the sounds of combat.

Angela was really frightened. She had never been exposed to anything like this and not being able to see what was going on around her, scared her even more. She clung to Cassandra shaken and frighten.

“It’s going to be alright, Angela.” Cassandra holds on tight to Angela as she protects them.

Cassandra watches in amazement as Kadyn kills the ones sent to kill her and kidnap Angela. She tries to comfort Angela, while maintaining the protection sphere surrounding them. Every so often, bullets would ping off the protection sphere protecting the two of them.

Angela clings to Cassandra and trembles. She could hear the gunshots and the roar of Kadyn as she attacked whoever it was that was attacking them. Why were they interested in her? Who sent them to her? Angela stays close to Cassandra and tries to block the sounds of the fire fight.

Cassandra watches in amazement as Kadyn kills the last biker and walks over towards the sphere protecting Cassandra and Angela. She had assumed her normal form and extinguish all the fires that either she started by killing the men or the ones caused by the explosion.

“It’s safe now.” Kadyn looks towards Cassandra and Angela as she clings to Cassandra.

Cassandra drops the magical sphere protecting her and Angela. She could feel Angela trembling still against her.

Kadyn walks over towards Angela and rub her cheek against Angela’s arm. She nudges her and use a little bit of her magic to calm her charge down.

Angela felt Kadyn rub against her arm and then nudge her arm. She felt some magical energy from Kadyn tingle through her as it settles in her to make her calm down. She let’s go of her adopted mother and pick Kadyn up off the ground and hold her in her arms. She listens to Kadyn purr as she held her.

Cassandra felt her baby let go of her and watched as she picked up Kadyn in her arms. She had felt the magical energies that Kadyn had cast on Angela as well.

“We need to call your father and a wrecker.” Cassandra digs around for her cell phone, but couldn’t find it.

Angela held onto Kadyn and buried her face against her kitty cat’s fur. She could smell the residue left over from the flames that had come from Kadyn.

“You smell like burnt cinnamon.” Angela leans back as if she was looking at Kadyn.

“Would you rather I smelled of brunt flesh or something else?” Kadyn looks up at her charge.

“No, it’s just I have never smelled you with that type of scent, before.” Angela knew what Kadyn smelled normally.

Cassandra turns to look at Angela “sweetie, do you still have your cell phone, so I can call your father and a tow truck?”

“Yes ma’am.” Angela searches around for her purse and pulls it out and hands the phone to Cassandra.

Cassandra calls Vince and gives him the condense version of what happened. They were going to need a tow truck to get her SUV and for him
to come and pick them up. After she gets off the phone. She starts to gather up everything that had fallen in the SUV and outside of it.

Kadyn was keeping Angela cool and collect. She could feel that her charge was still frightened and scared. Kadyn was doing what she could for Angela. Her purring was helping the scared girl.

Cassandra had read myths about cats like Kadyn, but she couldn’t believe they existed. At least Kadyn was thoughtful to put the fires out she made burning the bodies of those bikers and turning their motorcycles to slag, except one.

Cassandra looks over at Kadyn “why did you leave that motorcycle intact?”

“I thought your husband might like it. It’s a custom build and done rather nicely. If I had a humanoid form, I might consider taking it for myself. It’s a nice piece of work.” Kadyn rubs her head against Angela’s chin.

Cassandra couldn’t believe how cat like Kadyn was, as she continues to gather their things up. After twenty minutes, Vince shows up in his police SUV with the tow truck following behind him driven by a middle age brown hair woman. Cassandra knew right away who he had brought along with him. It was a member of their coven. Her name is Laura and she works with her husband at a body shop.

Laura notices Cassandra sitting down by her SUV along with the girl she has been hearing about from clients coming into her husband’s garage. She could also smell death in the air. Like several bodies had been brunt. She spots several black circles and giant burned cat paws.

“I know this is none of my business High Priestess, but what just happened here?”

Cassandra glances over towards Kadyn to if it was okay to tell her.

Kadyn nods her head as she goes back to purring and keeping Angela calm.

“We were attacked by a motorcycle gang trying to take Angela.”

Cassandra glances over towards Angela who was just petting Kadyn and not holding her so tight any more.

“Why would anyone want her?”

“She possesses special gifts that would be useful to them to exploit.”

Vince notice that Cassandra didn’t tell her the rest of the reason.

“Are you okay Cassandra?”

Vince was concern about his wife and notice Kadyn was having a calming effect on Angela.

“I’m fine.”

Cassandra takes their stuff to her husband’s police SUV and load it in the cargo area.

“Are you okay to walk Angela?”

“Yes ma’am.”

She holds onto Kadyn’s leash and let her guide her up the slight incline. Cassandra walks back down and picks Angela’s backpack and make
sure all her stuff was in it. She grabs her purse as well as Angela’s.

Once Cassandra has all their stuff from her SUV. She gets in the passenger seat of her husbands. Angela had gotten in the back with Kadyn.

Vince helps Laura with getting his wife’s SUV up and onto the flatbed. He also brings the one motorcycle Kadyn didn’t destroy and load it on the back of the flatbed truck.

“How long will it take for you to give us estimate of damages?”

“Give me a few days, Vince. I know you’ll need to come up with a believable excuse for the damages.”

“That’s easy, she had a blow out.”

Vince shots the driver side front tire.

Angela jerks towards the sound.

“Mom, who’s shooting at us?” Angela was holding Kadyn tight.

“No one, Angela. It was your father making an excuse for why we went down the side of a hill.”

“By shooting at the SUV, mom?”

“Yes.”

Angela was confused, but she just accepted it and kept petting Kadyn.

Vince gets into the SUV and drives them back to the house. They escort Angela in first and then unload the rest of Angela’s and Cassandra’s
things in the house.

“Why don’t you start on your homework sweetie and I’ll start dinner.”

“Okay, mom.”

Angela starts on her homework for the day.

Angela was having a rough time in school the next day. During gym class one of the guys in her class purposely threw the basketball at Angela and hit her in the back of her head. Kadyn hadn’t seen it, because a few people were blocking her view. She could have used her magical abilities to protect Angela, but she couldn’t risk exposing herself. Then there was the accidental tripping by someone. Kadyn hadn’t seen it. All
she knew was, Angela had nearly fallen on her.

While she was at lunch, someone spilled their lunch tray all over her. Angela was ready to cry from all the bad lucky she was having. Kadyn had instructed her to go to the girl’s restroom and into one of the stalls. Kadyn used some of her magic to clean Angela up and change her clothes to something different than what she had wearing.

“What’s going on today Kadyn?”

“I don’t know Angela, but I promise to be more alert.”

Angela goes to her next class. Just as Angela was about to sit down in her seat, Kadyn spotted a thumb tack in on her seat. Kadyn uses a little
bit of magic and makes the tack fall off the seat. Angela had felt Kadyn use of magic.

“Do I want to know?”

“No, get your book out and turn to page one fifteen.”

Kadyn was looking around the room trying to spot who was tormenting Angela. She catches glimpses of a black hair boy looking towards Angela, like he was expecting something to happen. While everyone was focusing on the teacher and the slides she was showing. Kadyn turns invisible and makes her way over to the boy. Now that she was closer, she could tell he was the one that had put the tack on Angela’s seat and had hit her with the basketball. He had tripped the student that dumped his lunch tray on Angela. An evil smile appears on Kadyn’s face as she uses some of her magic to play havoc with the boy digestive track. She causes him to start ripping loud farts in class. After a few seconds, she causes him to poop his pants.

She felt one embarrassment, deserves another. Kadyn watches as the boy rushes out of the classroom with his pants falling around his ankles and crap flowing down the inside of his legs. She was going to make the spell last for a few days, so he either wears a diaper to school or he would be forced to stay home for a few days.

“Kadyn, did you do that?”

“Yes, it was either that or a hot foot.”

“Why?”

“He was the one that was messing with you today. He threw the basketball that hit you during gym class and he tipped the student who
dumped their lunch on you in the lunchroom. So, I felt one nastiness deserves another nastiness. Now, pay attention to your teacher, while I get a cat nap in.”

“What am I going to do with you?”

“Pet me and give me cream and tuna.”

Angela reads the pages she was supposed to read while the teacher was out of the classroom. The janitor had to come in and clean the crap trail that the student left behind. Angela’s teacher returns right as the bell rings. Angela walks with her friends towards the parking lot where
Cassandra was waiting on her.

Cassandra was driving Vince’s truck, while they waited to get the check for her damaged SUV. The insurance company had totaled the truck. It would had taken more money to fix it, than it would to replace it. The only disadvantage, was Vince and Cassandra were going to have to put new protection spells on the new vehicle when they get it.

“How school today Angela?”

“It was rough earlier today because according to Kadyn, a boy in my class had decided to bully me and play dirty tricks on me. Kadyn got even
with him by causing him to pass stinky farts in class and going to the bathroom in his pants.”

Cassandra looks at Kadyn “tell me you didn’t use magic please?”

“Don’t worry Cassandra. No one saw me do it. I waited till the lights were out and everyone was paying attention to the slides the instructor was showing. I turned invisible and walked over to the boy and casted a low-level magic spell on him. He deserved it for what he did to Angela today. I put two conditions on him. If he wears a diaper to come to school he’ll be fine. If he stays home from school he’ll be fine. It will only last for three days.”

Cassandra just shakes her head as she heads towards their favorite sub shop to buy subs for dinner tonight. All three of them go in and Kadyn tells Cassandra she wants a tuna sub, heavy on the tuna. Angela talks Cassandra in buying her an order of onion rings.

After they get their order. They head back outside to the truck and climb in. Just as Angela was shutting her door, Kadyn becomes alert and jumps onto Angela’s lap and burst into flames. The flames weren’t burning Angela’s clothes or her skin. There were three-gun shots and the bullets that had been coming towards Angela. They melted when they got close to her and dropped to the ground.

“Go ahead and take Angela home Cassandra. I’ll handle this.”

Kadyn jumps out of the truck and runs towards the shooter. She couldn’t risk assuming her full form, so she was going to have to fight this nutcase in her small form. She uses the cars around her as cover as she got closer to the shooter. It was another biker and she could smell the scent of ruby on him. She jumps up on his tank and causes the gas fumes inside to explode. She concentrates and contains the explosion to just their area. She could hear the biker scream as the fire roasted him alive. She was feeding the flames to cause them to burn hotter.

Cassandra had done as Kadyn told her to do and in her rearview mirror, she could see a huge fireball.

“Mom, we can’t leave Kadyn.” Angela was frightened and didn’t want to leave Kadyn behind.

“Don’t worry Angela, she’ll be home as soon as she is done taking care of business.”

Cassandra takes a secondary route that had plenty of people for protection. Her and Vince had laid out multiple routes to their house just in case someone thought about ambushing them again. She glances at Angela and could tell she was frighten and was concerned about Kadyn.

“She’ll be alright Angela. Kadyn is a very special cat and can handle most things herself.”

She reaches over and rubs Angela’s arm. She hated to see her daughter like this. By the time they get home, Kadyn was sitting in front of the front door licking herself.

“Guess who’s waiting for you?”

“Kadyn?”

“I’m right here Angela. In front of the door.”

Angela makes her way over to Kadyn. She kneels in front of her and gives her a hug. She could smell the strong odor of brunt cinnamon coming from her fur.

“Don’t do that again. I thought you weren’t coming back.” Tears were leaking from Angela’s eyes.

“I’m your familiar Angela. I’ll always come back for you. Besides, I have nine lives left.”

Kadyn purrs and gives Angela a lick on her cheek.

“Come on you two, lets head inside.”

“Yes mom.”

Angela stands up and heads inside with Kadyn by her side. Angela was still frightened and cuddle with Kadyn on the sofa. Cassandra looks at
Kadyn and Angela. Who was it that wanted her daughter so badly? Angela heads into the kitchen and start setting the table.

Viscount Tebald was finding it frustrating that everyone he has sent to retrieve this Angela has failed. The reports he had been getting from his people that she had a powerful familiar protecting her. Everyone he had sent had been killed by her familiar. The two witches protecting her, were too powerful for him to confront the last time he had confronted them, they nearly succeed in killing him.

He paces back and forth trying to figure out what to do. He needed to get his hand on that girl and bend her to his will and use her talents to increase his territory. The new Were-Wolf leader in the area was slowly taking areas that use to belong to him away. He had tried to establish a peace treaty with him, but the new leader had laugh at him and told him that his rule of this area was coming to an end. For every Were-wolf he killed, they killed three of his people. He needed that girls gift to locate and take control of the wolves working for the new leader.

“Bogdan, what have you learned about that familiar?” Tebald turns to face his Russian mystic.

The middle-aged man looks up from a bowl that had a silver liquid in it. His right eye had a scar that ran down the middle of it and three even space claw marks that started at his mouth and went across his right cheek.

“That this familiar we have been stopped by isn’t of this world and fire is her element. She was sent by the goddess Freya to protect and watch over this girl and her new family. Her birth family is responsible for the death of several covens that had tried to establish itself in her hometown.”

“Is there a way to stop this familiar?”

“Yes, but it means making a bargain with someone you distaste and bring them back to life.”

“You mean the Hunter, don’t you?”

“Yes, his body is on its way back to his home as we speak.”

“What type of bargain would I need to make with him?” Viscount Tebald was thinking that it might be worth it.

“He’s going to want a body that is capable of going hand to hand with the niece of Cain out in Montana. He wants revenge for what she did to him.”

“Can you manage something like that, Bogdan? Can you give him the body he wants?”

“Yes, viscount. I can give him the body he wants. All I have to do is transfer his soul to the new body.”

“Very well do it, but make sure we have control of him. I may want to use him against our enemies.”

“Yes Viscount.”

Bogdan walks down to his secret laboratory where he has the body of one of the Hunters that use to be sent against the supernatural by the HSL. He had been able to get his hands on the body after they had transported it back to their headquarters to try cloning it. He had healed all the damage done to the body and preserved it, till he could find a soul to place inside it. He had gotten a sample of the serum that HSL had been using against them and twisted it some to make it more powerful and addictive.

Bogdan summoned his trusted servants and sent them to Florida to retrieve the Hunter’s body and bring it back to him. He also instructed his servants to bring back the medical team that had brought the Hunter’s back to the mainland. He needed them alive to performed the spell necessary to transfer a soul from one body, to another body.

He starts gathering and preparing everything he was going to need to perform the ritual. The new body the Hunter’s soul will inhabit will work nicely for dealing with that pesky familiar. The HSL had engineered the serum to make the person who takes it immune to most supernatural abilities like mind control and being turned. That also included natural elements like Fire, Wind, Water and Earth. He had added an extra immunity to the serum as well. He had added Ruby and Leech juice to it. That way if a vampire decides to drink from him, they would be knocked out. He had tried to add the blood from a kitsune to the mixture, but every time he did. The blood would burst into flames from the vampire blood and kitsune blood mixing.

By early morning the next day, his servants arrived back with the medical personnel and the Hunter’s mangled broken body. He looks down at the Hunter and smiled.

“How would you like a second chance on life?”

“By turning me into one of you, no thanks.”

“Who said anything about turning you into a vampire? No, my Hunter. I was referring to transferring your soul into a healthy body. One that is younger, stronger and can give you an edge over the person that made you like this.”

“Let me see the body you want to transfer my soul into.”

He is shown the body of one of the recruits he had helped trained and used to work with Agent 345. It was the same person that had tried to rape her and killed that one Werecat daughter.

“I’ll do it, but what is in it for you?” Hunter knew the Supernatural never did anything without a reason or price.

“I need for you to kill a familiar for me that isn’t from this world and kidnap the girl it is guarding.”

“Why do you need me for that? Can’t you do that on your own?”

“We’ve tried and the properties of this familiar make it, too hard to capture. This body has been conditioned to withstand certain supernatural traits. It will give you an edge when dealing with this creature.”

“Why do you need the medical personnel?”

“I need them to fuel the ritual I have to perform to transfer your soul into that body. So, do you agree to be our weapon and have a healthy
body again? After your done doing what we require of you, you can take your revenge against the person who did this to you.”

“Okay, I agree. What do I need to do?”

“Oh, you just need to die is all.”

Bogdan stabs a huge wicked looking bowie knife into Hunter’s heart. Just before his soul departs his body, Bogdan captures the soul in a strange looking ball. The light of the soul flickers a few times Bogdan motions for the other body to be brought over into a circle that had been constructed. The chanting and candles lighted as the ritual begins. Just as the pitch of Bogdan voice reaches the highest pitch, the medical personnel that had been brought to be used as sacrifices are stabbed all at the same time. As their souls leave their bodies, all but one gets sucked into Bogdan’s body. The one soul that doesn’t get sucked in escapes and heads out into the night looking for a vessel to inhabit.

Local Toy Store:
It flies into a toy store and settles into the plastic body of The Barbie Look Barbie Doll – City Chic Style. The doll shimmers as the soul settles into its new host body. The dolls plastic flesh, eyes, hair and everything go from being faked, to real. The doll screams as it realizes that it isn’t in its original body, but inside a toy now. It tries to escape the plastic container it is in. After twenty minutes of fighting to free itself. It manages to wiggle free of the twist tie holding it secure inside the box. It took several tries for the doll to kick the card board backing out.

As it falls from the shelf it was on. It lands next to an open display of a Barbie Spy Squad Secret Agent Motorcycle. When the doll touches the plastic motorcycle, it turns real. A smile appears on the dolls face as it mounts the motorcycle with the side car. The toy robot in the sidecar turns real as well. So, now she had a real live robot helping her to escape from the store.

Once it gets outside, it doesn’t know in what direction to head. So, it starts to look for some where safe till it can figure out what to do with itself.

Bogdan Secret Laboratory:
Bogdan hadn’t realized one of the souls had escape from him. As he uses the power charge he got from the other souls to place Hunter’s body into the new body. At first the body didn’t want to accepts Hunter’s soul, but it finally accepted the soul after Bogdan stabbed the body and injected the blood from Hunter’s old body into the new one.

It arched off the cold metal gurney it had been secured to. The body lays back down and after a few minutes it opens its eyes and star up at the face of Bogdan.

“You can let me up now. This body has accepted my soul into it.”

Hunter could feel his soul anchoring itself to his new body. He was enjoying the feeling he was getting as everything in his new body responded to his thoughts.

Bogdan releases the straps holding the body onto the gurney. Hunter slowly moves his legs over the side as he sits up getting use to how his new body moved.

“Oh, I am so going to enjoy getting even using this new body.”

He looks up at Bogdan as an evil smile appears on his face.

Angela was excited from her trip to the mall with her friends. The past few days had been quiet and free from attacks. Her friend’s mothers and her own had taken the trio to the mall to do some shopping. Her friends had helped her develop a style of her own, even though she couldn’t see.

When Angela was trying on different outfits and looks. Kadyn would tease her some and allow her to see what she looked like through her eyes. Cassandra had chosen a nice hair style for Angela. It made her look a little bit older. Her body had started to fill out more, so she didn’t look like an eight-year-old any more. She got her period during gym class and Cassandra had to come and get her. Her friend Gloria helped her through that incident.

Her ability to control her gifts, was getting better. She still wore her mother’s pentagram necklace to block people, but sometimes she took it off to test her ability to block people’s thoughts from bothering her. She had gotten a new pair of glasses to wear. They wrapped around her head to hold them in place.

Angela with Cassandra’s help had helped her to work on how her clothes were arranged better. So, she could dress herself in some of the other fancier clothes they had purchased. Kadyn, sometimes allowed Angela to look through her eyes. She wanted Angela to be comfortable with her and to strengthen their bond. Kadyn could already tell how Angela was feeling and hear her thoughts, but sometimes their bond felt weak.

One night while Angela was asleep, Kadyn felt a presence near the house that didn’t feel right. She knew Cassandra and Vince had magical protections on the house, but there was something that didn’t feel right to her. She leaves Angela’s side and heads outside to investigate. Kadyn was being cautious because something just didn’t feel right.

The Hunter:
The Hunter wanted to get to work right away and had made a list of weapons he would need for the task. He had inquired about his SUV that he had left behind in Florida. He found that it wasn’t there anymore. No one knew what happened to it. When he went to active the tracking device built into it, it wasn't working. He tried all four tracking devices that he had installed in the SUV, but couldn’t find it anywhere. When he went to investigate where he had parked it. He had found foot prints belonging to Agent 345. He knew if she had used it for shelter, then that meant the Were’s she had taken shelter with, would had taken it with them.

After this matter with the familiar was done with, Agent 345 and her adopted family would be next on his list. He wanted revenge, especially against Agent 345. She wasn’t meant to survive that explosion. He had arranged it so the explosion should had killed her, instead it had collapse the area he had been in and killed his assistant and crushed his body. He knew she had been caught by the explosion, but somehow, she had survived. The people that rescued him. Had found where she had been pinned. They had found the blood trail where her legs had been cut.

The Hunter was doing recon tonight to see this familiar and maybe, just maybe draw it outside to see what it was. As he got closer to the house, he could see the magical glow surrounding and protecting the house. It was no wonder that the serum the HSL gave its special warriors was a guarded secret. It gave them the ability to see magic energies and how to avoid it.

He will need to have the serum analyze to find out what it was composed of. As he got closer to the house, felt a different type of energy. He stops in his tracks and pulls the crossbow he brought with him and slips one of the carbon fiber bolts loaded with a specialty chemical to break open when it strikes his target.

He spots the familiar he had been given pictures of stepping out of the shadows. He hadn’t even seen it in the shadows. He watches as it looks around the area. A few times it had looked right at him and then moved on. He watches as it walks into a dark area and doesn’t come out. He sits and waits and the next thing he feels is an intense flame behind him. The whole area was lite-up by the flames and the heat was intense.

Kadyn had looked around till she spotted what was bothering her. She had felt the presence of death magic in area. It was too strong to be natural occurrences. Then she saw what had been emitting the magic. It was looking directly at her, observing her. She noticed that when she stepped into the shadows, it couldn’t detect her. She used the shadows to her advantaged to move closer to it and then stepped out in her full form, so it felt and met her flames.

She had done just what she wanted to, but hadn’t counted on the figure shooting her with a crossbow bolt. She felt it as the bolt penetrated her skin and went into her right shoulder and caused some sort of chemical to explode on her flames. They had dimmed some, but didn’t go out. She intensifies her flames and felt the bolt burn as it dropped out of her body.

The Hunter had fired the crossbow bolt and saw it go into the creature. The creature had sneaked up on him and nearly burned him with its flames. He had felt it and the intensity was more then he thought possible for a creature to generate. The fire chemical he had design to explode on impact covered the creature and dimmed the flames. However, it didn’t last long. The creature increased its flames even brighter and burned the chemical off like it wasn’t anything. As he goes to strike it, his fist gets burns in its flames.

Kadyn just smiles as she brings one of her paws out and strike him on his chest. Her claws leave three burned gashes on his skin. The skin around the gashes blister from the heat. Her claws cut through the skin like butter.

The Hunter felt pain and smelled his flesh burned when the creature’s claws struck his chest area. He tried dodging out of the way, but the creature was faster then he was. It had an evil smile on its face, looking at him like he was its play thing. He springs backwards and pulls his sword to strike.

“You have to be kidding me. A sword, really?” Kadyn couldn’t believe this moron.

The Hunter goes to strike the creature, but his sword melts in his hand. He drops what is left of it on the ground as he shakes his hands. He
stares at the creature searching for some sort of weakness. He could feel the flames and watched as they changed color. He felt the heat increase and had to back away from the creature.

“What are you?” He wanted to know, so he could kill this creature.

“I’m not from this dimension, human. The question now is. What should I do with you?” Kadyn walks closer to Hunter.

The Hunter backs away from her.

“You have the touch of death magic about you. Who is your Master?” Kadyn could see the vampire blood flowing throughout his viens.

“I have no Master. I am my own person.”

The Hunter could feel the flames getting closer to him and there was nothing nearby he could use on this creature. The natural defense his new body had, didn’t protect him against these flames. He kept backing up.

“Then who’s body did you steal and why do you have vampire blood in your system?” Kadyn could tell this person was

The Hunter didn’t want to answer this creature. As for the vampire blood, he knew who had did that to him. He kept quiet.

“Why don’t you leave before I turn you into a crispy critter.” Kadyn was going to give this creature a chance.

The Hunter walks around from the creature. He was keeping away from the flames as he made his way down the street. He was watching the creature and was careful when he walked around it.

Kadyn just watches as the figure walks away from the house. Next time she wasn’t going to be so nice. She shrinks from her lioness form, back down to her pixie-bob cat form and walk into the shadows and reappear inside Angel’s bedroom. No one had woken-up while she was gone.

Kadyn jumps up on Angela’s bed and curl against her sleeping form.

Off in the distance:
Riker and his crew along with Crimson, Noah’s new name. They were watching The Hunter as he faced off against some creature.

“Crimson, where did the body come from that the Hunter occupies now?” Riker had seen that body before.

“According to what was said. The body was a member of a special squad the HSL had created.” Crimson was standing up on Jacalyn’s right shoulder dressed in a dominatrix outfit.

Noah had changed her name now to Crimson. Jacalyn had suggested that to blend in, she should start dressing in clothes that matched theirs.

Riker turned around to look at Crimson “did you say the HSL?”

“Yes sir, I said the HSL.” Crimson had done some work for them and knew who some of their leaders were.

“I have heard about this squad. They killed several vampire clans in several different states. I thought the group was in disarray and such?”
Riker had met one of the members. She was the adopted daughter of Lady April of the Montana Pride.

“The squad no longer exist. It was rumor that the scout of the group killed the leader, after he tried to rape her. The other members from the group left to go and live with their families. The body The Hunter is inhabiting now was the leader of the group. The HSL had preserved his body hoping to clone more just like him. Agent 345 is the one responsible for the Hunter ending up being broken and nearly dead when they recovery team found him on the Island.” Crimson knew she shouldn't know this information, but she had connections in the HSL and the Hunter organization.

“We will watch the Viscount for now and gather evidence, before I make my judgement on what we should do with him. As for the Hunter, he needs to return to the land of the dead and Lady April of the Montana Pride needs to be informed about him.” Riker wasn’t pleased with this at all. He didn’t like killing his kind, but when they go against Vampiric Law, they had to be dealt with.

Angela felt that Kadyn was more alert then normal. She had noticed it early this morning when she was getting ready for school. Kadyn was sitting at her windows looking outside, which was unusual for Kadyn.

“Is something wrong, Kadyn?” Even though she couldn’t see Kadyn, she could feel her.

“Nothing to concern yourself with, Angela.” Kadyn looks towards Angela.

Angela just stare at her for a few minutes. She wonders should she be worried or is Kadyn just being weird? She grabs her back pack and head towards the kitchen to eat breakfast.

Cassandra was putting Kadyn’s favorite food down as she got Angela’s breakfast ready. Kadyn had informed her about what happened last night. She also showed her how to redo the magical alarms and protection on the house to keep the person she encounters out of the house.

“Mom, is Kadyn acting a little more alert then normal?” Angela cuts up her waffles.

“She’s just being cautious, sweetie.” Cassandra didn’t want Angela worrying while she was at school today.

“Are you still going to the mall after school with your friends today?” Cassandra had to work late and had given permission to Angela to go to the mall with her friends and do some shopping. Gloria’s mother was going to pick them up from the mall.

“Yes ma’am, if it’s still okay with you?” Angela looks in the direction of her mother’s voice.

“It is. Just be careful and stay with your friends.” Cassandra knew Kadyn would be with her.

After breakfast, Cassandra drives Angela to school.

Angela gives her mother a hug and heads to meet up with her friends. Gloria and Carol had introduced her to some more people they knew and were friends with. Ashanti was one her new friends and then there was Gary her sidekick. He was gay and a major practical joker. They have known each other since elementary school. He was the joker of their group and teased Kadyn a lot. She got even with him one time, marking him with her claws.

Cassandra just watches as the group heads inside to school. She was happy that Angela made friends and they were willing to look after her while she was in school or when they went out. Cassandra heads towards her shop to meet a client. She knew Vince was looking into the mysterious disappearance of five people and an abandon ambulance that had been found.

Angela giggles at a joke the teacher told the class. She could hear Kadyn moan at the joke. She thought the joke was lame. Angela reads the pages her teacher wants her to. She felt Kadyn walk away from her and around the class. Angela’s teacher has gotten use to Kadyn patrolling around the class. She didn’t bother the students she walked by and if nothing else, she was having a calming effect on the students.

During lunch, Gloria spoils Kadyn and gives her some fresh tuna she brought from home for her. Angela didn’t mind Kadyn being spoiled. She knew Kadyn loved the attention she was receiving from her friends. Angela pets Kadyn when she is done eating.

“Angela, what type of cat did you say Kadyn was?” Gary did some research to learn more about Kadyn. He liked her and wouldn’t mind having one just like her.

“She’s a pixie-bob. They are extremely rare, especially her type. I was lucky to get her, instead of a seeing eye dog.” Angela was stretching the truth.

“I didn’t know they were able to train cats to be just like the seeing eye dog.” He looks at Kadyn and wonders what her true breed is.

“Some cats can be trained, but most cats are to independent.” Angela strokes Kadyn’s back.

Kadyn purrs when Angela strokes her back and arches her body from the enjoyment of it.

Gary watches Kadyn and when the bell rings, everyone heads towards their next class.

Outside of the school:
Hunter sat and watched the school he saw the blind girl and the cat go into. The motorcycle he was riding was stolen from a house that he killed everyone in it. He didn’t care any more about who was innocent or who was guilty. The only thing he wanted to do now was enjoy the hunt and the kill.

The woman and her child didn’t put up much of a fight. He did both and made husband watch as he did it. He made the husband watched as he killed the daughter first, after using her for his pleasure. Then he made the wife watched as he killed the husband in front of her. He used her one more time and then drunk her blood afterwards.

He knew trying to grab the girl while she was at school wouldn’t work. He kept watching the school all day and then he spotted her leaving with some other kids and getting in a van. He follows the van to the mall and watches as the teenagers get out and head inside the mall.

He parks the motorcycle he stole and heads inside. Maybe, if he could separate her from her friends and guardian. He could take her and kill her. He didn’t care what the Viscount wanted. The girl was too much of a liability with her gifts and she needed to die.

The Mall:
Angela couldn’t wait for school to be over with. Gloria’s mother came and picked them up and dropped them off at the mall. She told them she would be back at five o’clock to pick them up. Gloria and Carol take charge as they bounce form one store to another. They use Angela as their dress dummy and Kadyn chuckles when she sees the clothes they get Angela to try on.

“You girls have no sense of style.” Gary steps in and starts picking out clothes for Angela.

Kadyn just shakes her head as she watches her human is used as a doll.

“You should see yourself, Angela.” Kadyn let’s Angela look through her eyes.

Angela saw herself and the clothes Gary had chosen made her look cute and stylist. She liked what she was seeing through Kadyn’s eyes. She twirls around in place in front of the mirror, which startles her friends.

“If I didn’t know any better, I would say she likes how you dressed her Gary.” Angela stops and looks towards Ashanti’s direction.

Angela blushes and tries to hide the truth “I never did that before, so I thought I would try it.”

Kadyn had shifted her gazed towards Angela’s friends, so she could see their reactions.

“Makes sense.” Gloria could see that for her friend. She had seen Angela shopping and she never did anything unusual like she just did.

The teens do some more shopping and finally take a break in the food court. As they are sitting there talking, Kadyn gets an uneasy feeling. She looks around and she detects what got her attention. She notices The Hunter taking aim at Angela.

Kadyn jumps down under the table and turns invisible and run across the space to surprise The Hunter. She can’t use her flame ability, but she did have other abilities she could use at her disposal.

Inside the Mall:
The Hunter had spotted and discreetly followed the teens throughout the mall as they went from one store to another store. He finally got his break when they stopped at the food court. He had taken a spot where he could see them and strike without them knowing. He had seen the
familiar, but now it had disappeared. He looks around for it, but couldn’t find it. He was about to shoot his target in the back, when he feels a set of claws slice the back of his legs. He accidently fires the gun and misses. It hits a nearby table.

“Angela, take your friends and head towards the front of the mall.” Kadyn was still hidden, but had her claws ready to strike.
She could tell The Hunter was looking for her. She had jumped under a nearby table and was ready to strike again. She keeps an eye out for Angela.

“We need to head towards the front.” Angela was getting up from the table.

“Where’s Kadyn?” Gary was looking for her.

“She’s probably mooching food from another table. She’ll find us.” Angela hopes she’ll be alright.

“Here, hold onto me Angela.” Gloria holds out her arms for Angela to grab onto. She escorts Angela towards the front of the mall.

The Hunter couldn’t believe he missed. He was still looking around for that dam familiar. He uses some of his newly discovered ability and feels a present under a nearby table.

“You might as well come out form your hiding spot. I know you are there.” The Hunter watches as Kadyn comes walking out from a nearby table.

“You do know, it’s against the rules to let normal know there are creatures like us.” Kadyn smirks at The Hunter.

“I don’t fucking care about these normal’s. As far as I’m concern they are sheep.” The Hunter wanted to kill everyone in the mall right now.

“I think something happened to you when you were brought back from the dead.” Kadyn could see blackness in The Hunter’s soul.

Security Officer Harrison had been doing his rounds when he spotted a bald head man pointing a gun at something on the floor. He couldn’t see what he was pointing at.

“We have a suspect with a gun in the food court. Send back-up” Harrison pulls his gun and points it at The Hunter.

“Freeze and drop your weapon.” Harrison had his gun pointed at The Hunter.

The Hunter takes his attention off Kadyn and fires his gun at Harrison. He hits him in the shoulder. He feels his pants catch fire as tries to put the flames out. He strips out of his ants and run while firing at people.

Kadyn follows behind him to make sure Angela does get hurt. She catches up with Angela and gang as Gloria’s mother picks them up.

“There you are kitty cat. We almost left you behind.” Gary picks Kadyn up and put her on Angela’s lap.

“Why do I smell cinnamon?” He sniffs his hands and smells cinnamon on them.

“Did you knock over a spice rack again?” Angela looks down at Kadyn.

“Meow!” Kadyn just grins at her.

“Are you going to tell me?”

“When I tell your mother.” Kadyn looks towards the van window as sirens and police cars approach the mall.

Gloria’s mother drives the teens home. She drops Angela off first and once they were inside the house. Kadyn informs Cassandra about the situation at the mall.

Cassandra, Kadyn and Vince sat around in the living room after they made Angela go to bed. Cassandra had tucked her in and Kadyn used a little of her magic to put Angela into a deep sleep. Kadyn couldn’t believe the vampires had turned a lunatic loose.

“We need to contact the council and informed them about this. The vampires have broken the law.” Cassandra look towards her husband to see if he agrees.

“The problem is, which vampire is doing this? The person that has been coming after Angela isn’t who they appeared to be. The Hunter has had his soul put into another body.” Kadyn had seen his soul.

“Whose body was he placed in?” Cassandra looks towards Kadyn for an answer.

“That I don’t know, but I think I know someone who does. While I’m gone to speak with this person. Why don’t you call the council and inform them about what is going on?” Kadyn figures she’ll have to go and see Cain over at the Montana pack for answers.

“How do you think you’ll be gone, Kadyn?” Cassandra knew Angela would want to know where Kadyn went.

“Not long, I can travel instantly through fire.” Kadyn walks over to the fireplace.

“Here, let me make sure the flue is opened in the chimney.” Vince goes over and checks the flue. The last thing he needed was smoke to fill the house.

He reaches his hand up in the chimney and discovered the flue was closed. He opens it and steps away from the fireplace. He looks over towards Kadyn.

“It’s all yours.” He steps aside as Kadyn walks up to the fireplace.

Kadyn changes forms from her pixie cat form to her Lioness form and blows a flame into the fireplace. She causes the flames to burn brighter as she jumps into the flames themselves and disappears.

Montana Pride Mansion:
Cain and the group were down in the living room with the fireplace blazing away. A huge snow storm had blown in a couple of days after Amy’s berserk rage. Lady April was in her tigress form and Arya and Amy were curled up next to their mother. All three of them were lying in front of the fireplace on a Persian rug.

Lady Joyce was knitting a sweater for Arya and Cain was reading a book. Troy was playing chess with Jamal, and Jamal was losing to him. As they were all lying there, the fire in the fireplace start sparking and getting brighter. The flames become extremely bright as a large figure appears out of the fire.

Amy had jumped to her feet when she spotted the figure and was ready to defend her mother and sister.

“Stand down Amy.” Cain recognized the figure. He hasn’t seen a fire cat in a long time. The last time he did, he was in Europe.

Kadyn had noticed a teenage girl with pure white hair jump up off the floor. She put herself between the tigress and a small girl. Kadyn could tell this girl was well trained and then she heard Cain voice telling the teenage girl to stand down.

Kadyn watches as the teenage girl stays close to the tigress and the other little girl curled up next to the tigress.

“I’m not here to fight anyone. I came to talk with Cain.” Kadyn looks at the teenage girl to see if she would relax.

“You have to excuse Amy, Kadyn. She’s just being protective of her mother and little sister.” Cain looks at Amy and could tell she was relax a little bit.

“Amy, you can trust Kadyn. She’s a legendary fire cat and normally they are assigned as familiars to special people.” Cain looks towards Kadyn to make sure he got what she did right.

“It’s alright. I can feel that she is still dealing with anger issues. Here, let me help with that.” Kadyn tries to use some of her magic on Amy, but it gets thrown back at her.

Kadyn looks at the one Cain called Amy “what are you?”

“She’s complicated.” Cain, responded for Amy.

Kadyn tries to get a feel of Amy, but it was like she was being blocked. None of her abilities were penetrating Amy’s defenses.

“What brings you here, Kadyn.” Cain watches as Amy sits down next to her mother and sister.

“I have a problem with the child I have been sent to protect. The Hunter is back, but his soul has been put in a different body. I was wondering
if you might know who this person uses to be.” Kadyn makes an image appear of the person she had encounter.

Amy heard that the Hunter had survived their encounter and that his soul had been placed in another body. When she sees the image of the leader of her old group. She wanted to scream. She stands up and walks over to Cain.

“He was dead. I swear.” She was looking towards her mother and Cain.
Lady April saw who it was and growled at the image. She could feel Amy’s anger and surprised as well.

Cain lets out a low growl “I know who he is. He used to be part of a special group formed by HSL to kill us. Amy made sure he was dead before she came to us.”

Kadyn looks towards Amy “you know who this is?”

Amy signs yes.

Kadyn looks at Amy as she signs. She gently knocks on Amy’s mental shield. She feels the shield open for her.

“I can speak mentally to you, if that is better?” Kadyn liked speaking mentally over vocally.

“Yes, it is. Also, yes, I know the body of the person The Hunter now occupies. He used to be the leader of the group that the HSL put together to fight the supernatural.” Amy knew and hated him.
“Well, his body has been taken over by The Hunter and he is acting irrational. He isn’t keeping his actions concealed from the normals and is drawing attention to himself and us.”

“Have you informed the council yet?” Cain knew, Mistress Rena had to be informed about any vampire not going by the rules. She would send her enforcer Riker to handle the problem.

“Yes, my charge guardian is doing that as we speak.”

Cassandra’s House:
Cassandra had looked up the council contact for the vampires and call them.

“Hello, Mistress Rena’s residents. How can I help you?” Barnie had heard the phone ring and answered it.

“Hi, my name is Cassandra Powell, High Priestess of the Coven of the Oak Spirit. I need to talk with Mistress Rena about one of her vampires exposing all of us.”

Barnie already knew who High Priestess Powell was talking about.

“We are already aware of the problem and our agents are already handling the problem.”

“Well, your agents need to speed up their investigation, because your vampire fired upon innocents inside a mall today.” Cassandra wonders if that would get their attention.

“I’ll pass that information along to our agents. High Priestess.”

The phone goes dead after that.

Cassandra hangs up and wonders how they were going to handle it.

Riker’s group:
Crimson was holding on tight as she rode with Jacalyn. Tonight, they were hunting down The Hunter. Riker heard what happened earlier today up at the mall. Riker wanted to capture The Hunter before he could expose them any further. So, far the damage that had been done could be sweep under the rug.

Crimson has gotten use to hanging with vampires now. They didn’t scare her like they use too. She was having fun now being a Barbie doll.
She learned she could change her shape and features to look like any of the different Barbie dolls she has seen.

They pull up to a warehouse. Jacklyn and the other fellow Crimson forgot the name of, stop in front of an abandon warehouse.

“Jacklyn, it might be best if I go in first.” Crimson looks up at Jacklyn.

Jacklyn picks Crimson up and carry her up to a broken window.

“Riker, Crimson wants to go first. I think it is a good idea.” Jacklyn was getting a bad feeling as they got closer to the building.

Crimson enters through a broken window and glides down on to the floor. She had brought a rope with her. Crimson walks over towards the door and could tell it was rigged with explosives. She pulls her fake cellphone out and makes it real. She dials Riker’s number.

“The doors are rigged Riker. He has some sort of trigger device on them and around some of the windows as well.” Crimson had her flashlight out and was looking around at all possible entrances.

“How about the roof? Is there a skylight or anything?” Riker figures they might be able to come in from the roof.

Crimson shines her flashlight up to examine the roof.

“Negative, the roof is a no go. Let me see if my abilities can do something about the explosive devices.” Crimson walks over to one and touches it. She uses her abilities to turn the device to plastic.

“Okay, I have turn it to plastic. Try it now Riker.” Crimson stands somewhere safe to watch.

Jacob walks up to the door and gives it a good shove and it opens without exploding. Jacob walks in first, followed by Jacklyn and then Riker. All three of them stop as they feel something that wasn’t right. Out of nowhere, the Hunter drops down form where he had been hiding and starts attacking the group.

Crimson couldn’t believe she didn’t spot him. She watches as all four of them get in a sword fight. She could barely keep track of them as they moved around the empty warehouse. She feels something wet hit her face. She touches whatever it was and look at her hand. It was covered in blood.

Several gun shots go off and the sound of two bodies hit the ground. Crimson runs towards some cover to see who the bodies were. She spots Jacob and Jacklyn down. They had bullet wounds and little wisp of smoke were coming from their wounds. She walks over to look at the wounds, while she heard sword fighting still going on. She glances towards the fighters and saw Riker barely able to hold his own against the
Hunter. His left arm was hanging limply by his side and blood was dripping down his chest.

Just as The Hunter was about to strike Riker one last fatal blow. Flames appear behind The Hunter and a white hair girl jumps from the flames dress in a skintight black suit. She strikes fast and hard and hit a cluster of nerves in the shoulder of The Hunters body.

The Hunter had felt the heat from the flames, but he wasn’t going to stop him from killing Riker. All the information this body had on vampires and his own knowledge had given him the upper hand. Just as his was about to strike the final blow, he felt his arm go numb and let go of the sword he was wielding. He turns around and sees Agent 345 and the fire cat he had battled the other day.

He snarls at agent 345 and pulls his gun with his good hand and fires at her.

Amy blocks the bullet coming towards her with her Sai’s. She starts striking at him with her Sai’s. She knew the fighting style Hunter used and what her former leader used as well.

The Hunter backs away from Agent 345’s attacks. His right arm was unusable because of the nerve strike from agent 345. He hated that freak and what she did to him on the island.

Amy charges towards The Hunter trying to strike him with her Sai’s. She manages to cut his left arm as he used it to block her attacks. She was maneuvering him towards Kadyn.

The Hunter saw what agent 345 and the fire cat was trying to do. He tosses down a flash grenade and sprints out of the warehouse. The motorcycle he stole was nearby. As he runs past Riker’s and his team motorcycles, he blows them up with a grenade.

As he is running away he feels several sharp items hit him in his back. He glances back behind him and notices agent 345 chasing after him. He knew he was going to outrun her. She was faster then his current body. Also, he knew she could track him down. He tosses several grenades back behind him as she catches up.

Amy saw The Hunter toss grenades towards her. She uses her newly discovered abilities to fling them aside. She made mistake once of assuming The Hunter was dead. She wasn’t going to make the same mistake again. She flings one of her Sai’s towards his leg and use her ability to cause it to go straight into his leg.

The Hunter falls face first on to the ground as agent 345 pounces onto him. She slams her remaining Sai through his chest and into his heart. She pulls the one that went through his leg out and slam that one into his throat.

The Hunter looked up into the face of agent 345. For the first time in his life since he has known her, he sees anger in her eyes. It would be the last thing he ever sees as she takes his head off.

“Allow me.” Kadyn walks over to his body and flare up as she uses hellfire to burn the body.

Amy heads inside to see how bad the vampires were. She walks over to Riker first to see to him.

“Take care of my people first, I’ll live.” Riker could sense this girl was special.

Amy walks over to Jacklyn and notices she had been shot by wooden bullets filled with holy water. She takes a throwing knife out and pry the wooden bullet out of Jacklyn’s chest. Amy glances at the Dominatrix Barbie doll standing nearby and watching her.

Crimson had watched the white hair girl help Jacklyn and now she was helping Jacob. She saw the girl pulling a wooden bullet out of Jacob. She notices a small hole in the middle of the bullet.

Amy looks at the small Barbie doll and wonder who she was and if she was real.

Kadyn comes walking inside and looks at the three vampires and the Barbie doll. She walks over to the Barbie doll.

“Who put your soul in this form?” Kadyn could see that the Barbie doll had a human soul.

“I drifted to this body. However, the same mage that made The Hunter pulled my soul from my old body.” Crimson couldn’t believe she had a cat that was on fire standing before her, but not feeling any heat from her.

Amy does what she can for the two vampires. They were going to need blood to heal. She glances towards their leader and he was going to need blood as well. She pulls her cellphone out and text Cain.

“Uncle, send help. The vampires need blood to heal.”

Cain’s cellphone:
Cain hears his cellphone beep. He looks at the message.

“Uncle, send help. The vampires need blood to heal.”
A.

He sends back to Amy.
“Pick-up in ten minutes.”
Cain contacts the council, so they can send someone to help out.

Warehouse:
Amy tugs on Riker’s sleeve and puts her finger up twice to tell him.

“You can’t talk?”

Amy shakes her head no.

“She’s mute Riker.” Kadyn had turned her attention from crimson to him.

Kadyn looks at Amy for a second “she says help will be here in ten minutes.”

Amy helps Riker over towards his people. She pulls the two vampires over towards him.

“Is he dead now, once and for all?” Amy looks towards Kadyn.

“He is nothing, but ash now.” Kadyn made sure of that.

“Thank you.”

“Your welcome. You can come back with me to my wards house. I’m going to need to rest, before I take you back home.” Kadyn was already feeling the effects of all the jumping she’s been doing and using hellfire to turn The Hunter’s body to ashes.

“Thank you.” Amy sends her mother and Cain that she’ll be spending the night.

The recovery team shows up and hooks bags of blood to Riker and his people. They clean -up the mess The Hunter made during the fight. Crimson rides with Riker and Jacklyn.

Kadyn takes Amy with her back to Cassandra’s and Vince’s place.

They let Amy sleep in the spare bedroom. Kadyn informs them that The Hunter won’t be a problem any more, but they still have to deal with the Viscount and his mage.

Council Recovery House:
Siddeeqa looks at her uncle and couldn’t believe someone managed to almost kill him. Her Uncle was one of the toughest vampires she knew. He has been alive for over a thousand years. She makes sure her blood was flowing freely into her Uncle and Aunt.

Crimson couldn’t believe that Riker and Jacklyn had a niece that was part-death Fae and human. She was also a member of the Unseelie court. She watches as Riker’s niece shared her unique blood with her aunt and uncle at the same time. It had an unusual color to it as she watched it travel through the clear tubing into both people.

“I thought vampires craved Fey blood?” Crimson had heard rumors about vampires and Fey blood.

“They do, but my blood is toxic to normal vampires. You must be of my bloodline to benefit from my blood. The only reason I can share it with my aunt, is she is of my bloodline as well. I can’t share it with Jacob. If I try, it will kill him. Plus, I can only spare so much blood.” Siddeeqa looks at her uncle and aunt’s skin tone to determine if they have had enough of her blood.

“She did notice all of their wounds were completely healed.” Siddeeqa disconnects herself from her aunt and uncle.

She uses a little bit of her magic to close the puncture wounds on her arms.

She looks at Crimson “you know, you could always transfer your spirit to like a mannequin or something.”

“I would prefer a real body, instead of a fake one.” Crimson missed having a real body.

“Well, there are a few beings that are capable of granting your wish. The thing is, are you willing to give up the gift you have?” Siddeeqa knows a few Unseelie Fey that would give Crimson what she wanted, but there would be a cost for them doing it.

“I, don’t know.” She looks at Riker and his gang.

Her gift help saved them. As much as she would like to have a real body and a normal life. She knows that it might not be possible. Not with what she knows now. Once you involve yourself in the Supernatural world. It is difficult to leave it and not have it interfere with your life.

“Let me think on the matter. However, you did say I could inhabit the body of a mannequin?” That intrigued Crimson.

“Yes, you could technically inhabit the body of a mannequin by merging your current doll form with it. Then use your abilities to make it real.”

“That is something to think about. I’ll think about that as well.” Crimson walks over and check on Jacob. He was still in critical condition, but
knew he will pull through.

Siddeeqa was a little weak from donating most of her blood to her aunt and uncle. She decided that she need to rest awhile, to build her blood back up. She summons a special drink to her hands. It was composed of artificial blood with certain magical healing ingredients. She chugs it down as fast as she can. She hates the taste of the artificial blood, but it will help restore her own blood. She watches as her cup fills up again with the same mixture and chugs that one down. She makes one more appear and does the same thing, before making the cup disappear.

Crimson watches as Siddeeqa lays down near her uncle and fall asleep. She walks over and lays down near Jacklyn. Her and Jacklyn have become close. It was more of mother and daughter type of relationship.

Cassandra’s House:
Amy wakes-up and at first, she wasn’t sure where she was, but then she remembered that a fire cat by the name of Kadyn. She had brought her to her wards home. She could feel other people in the house. She also spots a nice dress and undergarments hanging from the closet door knob. There was a note pinned to the dress with her name on it.

Amy,
Your Uncle sent this here for you. A council team will be coming to help Cassandra and her coven out. You’re to work with them.
Love,
Mom.

Amy heads to the bathroom to do her morning business and take a shower. She wonders which team they were sending to help Cassandra’s coven.

Angela wakes-up and hears the shower going. She also, picks up several different scents in the house. She stumbles into the kitchen and follow her nose over to her mother.

George and Joyce watches as Angela comes walking into the kitchen. They first met her at a circle meeting, when Cassandra and Vince brought her. Since then, she has been to a few new moon and full moon circles.

“Look who woke up finally.” Joyce gives Angela a hug.

“Hi Joyce.” Angela was still in her nightgown. She hadn’t changed out of it.

Angela waves hello as she makes her way over to her father. She wraps her arms around his waist. It wasn’t often that Vince was home in the morning.

“Morning sleepy head. Have you met our guest yet?” Vince was wondering if Amy and Angela have met.

“No sir.” She wonders if that was who was in the shower.

“Well sweetie, she can’t speak. You’re going to need to communicate with her mentally. Do you think you’re up to it?” Vince knew Angela has a
hard time controlling her gifts.

He knew she has been practicing since she came to live with them. Him and Cassandra have been working with her. He also knows that
Kadyn can monitor her, so she doesn’t get over-whelm.

Amy:
Amy gets out of the shower and heads into the bedroom where she slept. She gets dressed in the clothes that were left for her. Once she is dress, she heads towards the kitchen where she smelled bacon drifting from. When she walks in, she notices there was a group of people gather around at the counter. She signs good morning to everyone. She notices the young girl who’s eyes were milky white, standing close to who she guess is her father.

“Good morning, Amy.”

Amy was surprised when she heard a young girls voice in her head.

“Good morning, Angela, right?” Amy was trying to remember what she was told.

“Yes. My father informed me that you couldn’t speak. So, I hope you don’t mind me talking with you this way.”
Amy just smile as she looks at the girl.

“I don’t mind.” Amy sits down at the counter.

“We normally have breakfast before any business or coven stuff is spoken.” Angela had sat down next to Amy.

Amy just smile as she grabs a biscuit and make herself a biscuit sandwich.

Amy checks the new body suit her uncle had custom made for her. Her old one was beyond repair. The last fight she used it in, had destroyed it. The new one was covered by several thin layers of Graphene covering a kevlar weaved based. The suit moved when she moved and molded her figure, giving her support. The new Sai’s were titanium and steel base with a laser edge to them. Her uncle did warn her, that if she got shot by a bullet, she would feel it.

Cassandra, Vince, herself and the rest of her coven were going after the Russian mystic. Since Amy had a natural resistant to magic

Cassandra wanted her to come with them. Kadyn wanted to come and confront the mystic as well but, didn’t want to leave Angela unprotected. Even with the magic protection on the house. Angela would need protection. So, they called Sparrow’s name out loud.

Pembroke House:
Sparrow was brushing Hokee’s hair. They were getting ready to go out as a family. Sparrow and Daigh enjoyed spending time with their children. Sparrow especially loved spending time with her family. After spending time in hell with demons and critters that still gave her nightmares. Her family helped counter those bad memories.

She stiffens and stops brushing Hokee’s hair. She places the brush down on the bed next to her and stands up.

“Hokee, take my hand please.”

Hokee grabs her mother’s hand as a portal opens. On the other side Hokee could see a group of people standing around in the middle of a room she has never seen before. There was a strange looking cat standing with them.

Cassandra’s and Vince’s house:
No sooner do they call Sparrow’s name then a portal opens before them. She comes walking through with a young girl holding her hand. They could tell the young girl was her daughter because of her hair coloration and weird eye color.

“Sparrow, I’m sorry for bothering you and your family, but I need your assistance. Do you have anyone that you could send to protect my daughter, while I and her Gaudian go after a Russian mystic that has been threatening her?”

“I have the perfect person. Her name is Isa and she is my head enforcer’s second in command.” Sparrow magically summons Isa.

Isa and Betty’s place:
Isa was getting ready for her shift when she felt the summons from Sparrow. She races downstairs and out the front door. She mounts her motorcycle and races towards the mansion. Maria already had the front door opened. When Isa arrived and raced up to Sparrow’s bedroom.
When she enters the bedroom, she notices the portal that was open with Sparrow and Hokee standing on the other side.

Cassandra and Vince house:
“You summoned me, Alpha?” As Isa walks through.

“Yes, Isa. I need for you to stay here and protect Angela, while her guardian assists her parents.” Sparrow wonders if Isa had an experience with swords.

“No problem, Alpha.” Isa wonder who all these people were.

She could sense the magic protecting the house and see the magical aura’s surrounding the people in front of her. She couldn’t believe the furnace coming from the cat standing between her and the other group of people behind the cat with the teenage girl. That cat gave her the chills and made her nervous.

Kadyn knew she could trust Sparrow and the young girl. She could sense, that the young girl was like her mother. So, she could be trusted. However, the new arrival was a vampire hybrid. She has never come across anyone like her before and didn’t know if she could be trusted.

Hokee lets go of her mother’s hand and walk over to Kadyn. She kneels and starts petting her.

“You can trust her, Kadyn. She has a wife and a teenage daughter she cares for. She also took an oath that binds her to my father and mother that she would never disgrace.” Hokee had sense Kadyn’s hesitation about Isa.

Kadyn starts purring and could sense the truth in Hokee’s word’s and trusted this woman. She rubs against her and gives her a lick on the cheek. When the young girl touched her. She could sense that she was a special person, just like her Angela was.

Sparrow just smiles as she watches her daughter and Kadyn. She turns her attention back towards Isa.

“To help you with your protection detail, Isa. I’m giving you Willbreaker.” She makes a black ebony scimitar with gold lettering script appear.

It was in an old weather-beaten leather sheath. On the handguard was a silver skull with ruby eyes. The writing on the sword was in ancient Sanskrit.

Isa accepts the sword from Sparrow. She has never used a sword before, but she figures it shouldn’t be that hard. She has seen Sparrow’s scimitar and noticed it was a little smaller than hers. It also had two hand guards to protect the weilders hand.

As soon as the sword touches her hands. Isa could tell it was special. She could feel the magic housed inside the sword itself.

“Sparrow, why does the sword have a skull?” Isa looks towards Sparrow for an explanation.

“Because it uses to belong to a legendary pirate. It has been buried for the last thousand years.” Sparrow knew where the sword had been buried but, was waiting for the right owner to come along to give it too.

Isa has proven she was the right person to pass the sword onto. In time she’ll learn the magical properties of the sword. The two were the perfect match for one another.

Cassandra looks at Sparrow “thank you, Sparrow.”

“Your welcome, Cassandra. If you need anything else, feel free to summon me.” Sparrow turns to Isa.

“If you need anything, Isa. You know how to get in touch with me.”

“Yes, Alpha.” Isa just smiles as she watches Sparrow and Hokee walk back through the portal.

Isa turns around to face Cassandra. She notices a white hair teenage girl dressed in a black bodysuit with two sais strapped to her thighs. Her senses were telling her that this girl was the most dangerous person in this house currently.

The other teenage girl with long brown hair, that she was protecting. She senses she had special talents as well but, they were being blocked or controlled.

Angela was looking through Kadyn’s eyes at the woman that was staying behind to protect her. Kadyn said that she was mated to a Were-Tiger. She had picked up on the scent coming from her body. She also learned that this woman was a vampire hybrid.

“Excuse me, ma’am. How long have you been a member of Sparrow’s pack?” Angela was curious.

“For about two months, so far. I ran into my mate and joined the pack.”

“Will you be okay?” Cassandra was worried about her adopted daughter.

“I promise ma’am, I will not allow anything to happen to your daughter while you are gone. You have my word on it.” Isa won’t disgrace the pack or allow anything to happen to the girl.

Cassandra stands there for a few minutes just looking at Isa. She turns around and gives Angela a hug.

“You behave yourself and do what Isa tells you, sweetie.” She hugs Angela close to her.

“Be careful mom and dad.” Angela returns her mother’s hug.

She didn’t want to lose them.

“Trust me, Angela, your parents will return to you. I will protect them.” Kadyn rubs against Angela’s legs.

Angela lets go of her mother and scoop-up Kadyn. She hugs her “you be careful Kadyn. I don’t want to lose you either.”

“Don’t you know cats have nine lives?” Kadyn gives Angela a lick on the cheek.

Vince gives Angela a hug and a kiss on the cheek “be safe sweetie.”

"You too, dad." She returns his hug.

Angela and Isa watch as Vince and everyone leaves the house. Once the door shuts again. Isa feels a prickling sensation all over her body as the magic of the house becomes stronger.

“Now, that was weird.” Isa looks towards Angela.

“Mom and dad activated the additional magical energies of the house when they left. We’re sealed in now, till they come back or if something
breaks the protection of the house.” Angela walks over to the sofa and sits down.

“So, what do you like to do?” Isa didn’t know what a blind girl or any handicapped person liked to do.

“Could you just hold me till my family comes back please?” Angela looks towards Isa’s voice.

“I think I can do that.” Isa walks over and lays the sword down on the sofa as she sits down and gather Angela up in her arms and hold her.

Chapter Thirteen
Riker and Crew:
The Viscount was going to have a nice visit from Riker, Jacklyn, Crimson, and Jacob. Riker had been told to kill every member of the Viscount’s coven. No one that was made by the Viscount was to be allowed to live.

They knew the rules and didn’t do anything to stop the Viscount. So, his orders were to kill them all. The council and Mistress Rita has given the elimination order. Mistress Rita did say, and the council agreed with her. That any vampires that weren't sired by the Viscount surrender to them, that they could be brought to the council.

Viscount’s Coven:
Viscount Tebald goes down to the cells to check on his latest experiment. The young sixteen-year-old teenage girl they had captured and had been feeding on for the past few weeks. He walks up to her as she hung on the wall. She currently had several bags of blood flowing into her to replace what she has been losing. He walks over towards her and checks the special blood his minions had acquired from an HSL testing compound.

“I see your body is taking to the special blood, young one.” He lifts the girls head from under her chin.

Aura looks at the bastard that has been drinking her blood and keeping her as a prisoner. She had heard the rumors about there being real vampires but hadn’t believed them. She was lucky she hadn’t died yet like the others had. This bastard has been draining her of all her blood till she was at death’s door. Then feeding her blood his people had stolen from a blood bank. He had added two extra blood bags to the ones he had has already given her.

The corpses of the others he had performed this operation on were still hanging on the wall next to her. She felt his hand squeeze her chin hard as he made her look into his eyes. She looks into his eyes and spits at him.

“I hope you get a blood clot.” Aura wishes she could do more than just spit at him.

Tebald just grins at her “it won’t be long before you end up just like the others did.”

“It will be a blessing. I’ll be free from you.” Aura didn’t care if she lived or die.

Her life has been hell. Her father enjoyed molesting and abusing her. Her mother had walked out on her when she was just five years old. When she ran away and arrived in town. Some guys had tried to grab her and force her into prostitution. She managed to escape them but got caught by a few vampires that were nearby and drunk from her, till she passed out.

When she woke, she found herself hanging from a wall naked with bags of blood going into her. Several vampires would come down throughout the day and drink from her till she was almost dead. They would connect new blood bags to her, to replenish what they drunk from her.

Viscount Tebald has been drinking from her for the past few weeks, trying to put her under his control, but it wasn’t working. She kept managing to resist his control for some reason. She figures it had something to do with the unusual blood they have been giving her.

They hadn’t feed her any food or water since they stuck her down here in their dungeon. The blood they had been pumping into her had a purple color to it, but when it left her system it was red. The blood did make her body tickle. She didn’t know what it was doing to her, but she felt some changes to her body.

Tebald releases her chin and walks back out of the cells. As he heads up towards the main hall. He is met by Riker and his people. All the guard’s he had created were lying dead on the floor before them. Their heads had been removed from their bodies.

“Good Evening, Viscount.” Riker was standing no more than thirty feet from Viscount Tebaldi with his sword drawn and dripping blood.

They had sneaked in with help from Crimson’s new abilities. They had passed through a wall that Crimson had turned into a plastic self-sealing wall. Crimson had taken Riker’s niece advice and upgraded her body. It had taken her several tries, but she had managed to transfer her energies into a full grown female shape manikin body. Once she transferred her essences into the new body. Jacklyn helped her mold and shape it into a form that would allow her to blend in but, still look hot.

Once they were inside the mansion; taking the human bodyguards out was easy. The vampire bodyguards on the other hand, were a different matter. They put up more of the fight when they were attacked. Because Jacklyn and Riker had the blood of their niece flowing through them, their physical attributes were enhanced. They moved faster and reacted quicker than the vampire bodyguards. They were moving faster than normal vampires. Which meant, they were on something that increased their attributes.

When Riker, Crimson, Jacklyn, and Jacob got done with them. They burst into flames or exploded. The ones Crimson attacked, she turned their flesh into brittle plastic and exploded.

Now they had the Viscount standing before them. Riker was going to make him pay for first, trying to kill them. Second for breaking the rules and third, for working with their enemy.

The Viscount knew he was in trouble, but a sadist smile appears on his face as he faces off against Riker and his people. He looks at everyone behind Riker. He knew Jacklyn, Riker’s wife, and Jacob, but he didn’t know the other brown hair young lady with them. He hadn’t been informed about them adding another member to their group by the other Masters.

He could sense she wasn’t a vampire or even alive. She had a soul, but what was she? He’ll figure that out after he takes them out.

Before Riker or the others knew what hit them. They were laying on the floor fighting against an invisible force. The smile on the Viscount was feral.

“You dare pass judgment on me! You are a traitor to your kind.” Viscount increases the magical force he was using to hold Riker and his people down.

Crimson sends her power out towards the floor under the Viscount. She turned the area under his feet into a liquid state. While Riker and his team were recovering. She learned more about her magical abilities.

The Viscount didn’t know what was happening to the floor under him. It had turned into liquid and he was sinking into it. He loses his concentration as he sinks into the liquid. He tries to stop his sinking, but the more he struggled. The more he sunk into the floor. He could feel his feet hit air in the room below him.

Riker moves fast as he feels the power holding him down lift. He moves swiftly over to the Viscount and rips his head off his body before he sunk any further into the floor. He knew this was Crimson’s doing.

“Search the place and kill any vampire you come across.” Riker was holding the Viscount’s head as his body burst into flames.

Riker was preserving the head of the council. He walks over towards Crimson.

“Seal this in a block of plastic if you can.” He hands the head to her.

“No problem Riker.” Crimson finds a cloth and wrap the head in it as she uses her ability to turn it into a clear plastic cube.

The Dungeon:
Aura looks up as the lights in the dungeon are turned on. A woman dress as a dominatrix comes walking into the dungeon. She had never seen this woman before but, could tell she was a vampire.

“Came to drink my blood like the rest of the leeches here?”

Jacklyn had smelled rotting corpses and the light breathing of a person. All the other dungeons she had walked by had rotting corpses hanging from their walls. When she opened the door to the cell she had heard the light breathing coming from. She spotted a young teenage girl hanging by her arms with bags of blood going into her. What struck her as odd was the one purple bag hooked to her.

The girl was skin and bones. She had bite marks all over her body. Jacklyn walks over and lets the girl down after knocking her out. She leaves the purple fluid bag connected to her as she takes her up to meet with the others.

Bogdan looks at the creature he had summoned to send and retrieved the girl before him. This creature was more than a match for the familiar protecting her. It was going to take most of his magical energies and the energies of the people he had killed to power the spell. It was necessary for him to kill several people to fuel the spell he needed. The spell was too break through the magical protections of the house where the girl was hiding.

Bogdan starts the spell and could feel the portal he was trying to open to the house resisting him. He pours more magical energies into the spell. The magical protections were still holding and resisting. Bogdan pours all his might and magic into the spell and the protections exploded.

Cassandra’s and Vince’s house:
Isa and Angela were listing to some music when the tiny hairs on Isa’s arm stood on end. A slight glow appeared in the middle of the room. Isa grabs the sword Sparrow gave her and then felt the release of the magical energies as a bright flash of light and a rush of power hit her full force. She felt the power as it rushed over her. She was temporally blinded by the bright flash.

The next thing she knows, she feels a set of claws cutting right across her stomach area. The force of the blow sends her stumbling backward. On top of that, she was still seeing spots from the burst of energy.

Angela had run to her bedroom like Isa had instructed her too. She could hear a growling sound coming from the living room. All she could feel was anger and a hunger coming from whatever it was in the living room.

She felt the pain coming from Isa. She could feel that Isa had control of her anger. She was also surprised by what had attacked her.
Isa could barely see what it was that attacked her. She was still seeing spots in her vision. She concentrates and dodges just in time. Just as whatever it was that attacked her try’s again to strike her.

The creature could smell its prey and the thing in front of it was blocking its path. It tries to strike again, but it misses. It tries to attack again and is blocked by a black sword that hurts it.

Isa blocks an attack from the creature with the sword that Sparrow gave her. The writing along the blade had glowed when Isa used it against the creature. She swings the sword in a low arc to strike the creature. She watches as the blade connects with the creature and a howl erupts from its mouth.

The creatures went to attack but were blocked. It wasn’t ready for the return swing of the sword as it struck its body. It felt a burning sensation as the sword cut deep into its hide like skin. It lets out a howl as the sword sliced its skin. The being it was attacking had struck back against it. It tries again to attack, instead felt the cutting edge of the thing in the strange one’s hands.

Isa swings the sword again as the creature tries to attack again. She was prepared this time for its attack and she had her sword ready to defend herself. She could feel the magical properties of the sword. She could feel a bond forming between her and the sword and knew what the sword could and couldn’t do. The sword was designed to remove the will of an individual. The sword allowed her to bend a person to her will when used against them. She forces the person she was fighting to back down or surrender to her. In the case of this creature. It was burning the creature each time it struck.

Isa and the creature go against each other. The creature’s attacks were blocked each time as Isa used the sword like she has been using it for years. The fight between her and the creature tore the living room up, but Isa finally manages to kill the creature. The final deathblow was Isa cutting the creature in half.

It managed to get a few swipes in on her but in the ended. She ended up sending it on its way. Isa tries to get her breathing under control. She was still ready to fight some more. She could feel the bloodlust of her vampiric half. She still wanted to kill something.

She manages to get herself under control. She knew she’ll have to drink some of Betty’s blood when she gets home. She looks around at the mess her and the creature created in the living room.

Angela comes out of her bedroom when she hears and feels the death of the creature. She stops before she enters the living room.

“Angela, go back to your bedroom, please. The living room isn’t safe to be in right now.” Isa looks over towards the young girl.

In one sense, she was happy that Angela couldn’t see what had happened, but on the other hand. She wishes she could see so that she would know what they faced off against. Isa blocks her thoughts like she learned a while ago when she visited a psychic.

Angela was going to speak to Isa telepathically but felt a barrier thrown up to block her. She wonders why Isa did that.

“Why are you blocking me right now, Isa?”

“Because the vampiric side of me is still craving more bloodlust and that is something I don’t want you to feel. It’s like the animal side of my
wife when her animal side has taken over in a fight.” Isa was looking directly towards Angela.

“Okay.” Angela turns around and heads back towards her bedroom.

Isa watches as Angela heads towards her bedroom. Once, she was safely in her bedroom.

“Sparrow, I need my wife here to protect Angela.” Isa looks towards a shadow to summon her Alpha.

Pack Mansion:
Hokee comes skipping into her mother’s office “mom, Isa needs Betty at the house.”

Just as Hoke said those words. Sparrow hears Isa’s words in her head. Sparrow just smiles at her daughter.

Betty and Isa’s place:
Betty was getting ready for bed when she feels the summon from Sparrow. She changes forms and charges downstairs. Just as she reaches the bottom steps. A portal opens in front of her and she could see Isa on the other side dealing with some dead creature. She walks through the portal.

Cassandra and Vince’s Place:
Isa was starting to move the dead carcass of the creature she fought when she notices a portal opens and her wife comes walking through from it. Isa stops what she was doing and smile at her wife.

“I need for you to protect Angela while I clean this mess up.”

Betty just shakes her head towards Angela’s bedroom.

“Angela, open your bedroom door, please. My wife is going to watch over you while I clean the living room up.”

Angela opens her bedroom door and smells cat. She feels a large cat rub up against her. She runs her hands through the fur. It felt different than Kadyn. She shuts the door after the cat was inside her room.

“Hi, Angela. I’m Betty. I’m Isa’s better half.” Betty already knew Angela could speak mind to mind. She plucked the information from Isa’s mind.

“It’s nice to meet you, Betty. What type of cat are you?” Angela was still rubbing her fur.

“I’m a tiger, Angela.” Betty finds a spot in Angela’s bedroom where she could lay down and protect Angela.

“Do you mind if I lay down next to you?” Angela didn’t want to lay in her bed without Kadyn.

“I don’t mind, Angela.” Betty nudges her with her nose.

Angela grabs her pillow, blanket and snuggles up against Betty’s cat form. She uses her furry leg as her pillow.

Betty purrs for Angela to help her sleep. As she watches over Angela. The cat side of her will protect this cub from harm.

Isa was still cleaning up the living room. She could hear Betty purring.

Bogdan’s lair:
Cassandra, Vince, Amy, Kadyn and their Coven members approached the old Victorian house. There was an old 6’ft tall iron wreath fence surrounding the place. Amy and Kadyn could feel the death magic pulsating off the fence.

“Leave this to me.” Kadyn turns into her full grown fiery lion form and walks right up to the fence.

The concrete sidewalk under her paws sinks through it. There are sparks and a wail as the magic in the fence fought against Kadyn, trying to kill her. Her flames flares hotter, as she fought against the death magic in the fence. The rest of the people near her back away as they felt the flames and heat.

Amy was feeling the heat affect her. She was normally immune to magic, but this she was feeling. She concentrates some to negate the heat, but she could still feel it. She couldn’t figure out why it still affected her.

Kadyn kept pushing forward towards the iron fence. The whole section of the fence where she was, was white hot. She butts it, but it doesn’t give. She steps back and charges towards it while roaring. The flames from her mouth hit the fence, just as she slams into it.

There is a massive blinding explosion as Cassandra and Vince protect everyone. Once everyone could see again, they notice the whole entire fence surrounding the property melted down into a slag. Kadyn was laying on the ground panting in her normal form. Her fur had turned pure white. She wasn’t moving at all.

Cassandra walks over to her and kneels ‘Kadyn, are you alright?”

“Use too much.” Kadyn used everything she had to take down the fence that surrounded the house.

Amy looks towards the house and a bunch of people starts coming out. She could tell they were hyped up on something.

“You guys stay here.” She pulls her sai’s and starts heading towards them.

Cassandra had turned away from Kadyn to see what was going on. When she turns back around to check on Kadyn, she was gone. There wasn’t a body at all. All that there was left, was melted metal.

Amy could smell the stench coming from the forty men and women that had come out of the house. All their eyes were glowing red and were snarling. She looks at all of them and wonders if they were jacked up on ruby.

“Go and handle Bogdan. This group was meant for me.” Amy sends to Cassandra as she charges into the thick of the group of ruby heads.

She controls her anger, and not let it send her into a berserk. She needed to keep her head clear this time and use every bit of her training to keep these people from going after Cassandra and her coven.

She starts cutting people down by removing their heads and legs. A few of them gang up on her and try to pin her down. She could feel their teeth bite into her skin and their sharp fingernails digging into her skin.

She manages to knock a few of the ruby heads off her as she goes back to cutting their heads off. She disappears as more ruby heads surround her and try to tear into her body.

Cassandra and her coven start heading into the house to go and deal with Bogdan. As they walk in, they discover he was in the middle of a circle. They could feel the demonic energies he had summoned and joined with him.

Bogdan turns to face the thirteen members of the Coven of the Oak Spirit “your souls will be mine.”

The air around Cassandra and her group start becoming heavy and thick as he slowly closes his fist. All the members grab their throats as if they were having a hard time breathing. Vince and Cassandra clasp each other’s hands and form a shield around their coven members.

“Quick, everyone surrounds him. We need to strip him of his abilities and send whatever demonic force he called up, back to where ever it came from.” Cassandra and Vince change the air back to a more tolerant environment.

Each coven member keeps holding the hand of the next coven member as they surround Bogdan. Once they are complete surrounding Bogdan, they close the circle.

Hellfire flames flair up around Bogdan. He tosses balls of hellfire towards the coven members. Just before the hellfire balls hit, they are turned into snowballs. Bogdan sends more and all of them are changed into snowballs.

“Do you honestly think we can’t transform elements, demon?” Cassandra gives the demon a look that she reserves for a naughty child.
She couldn’t use it on Angela because of her blindness. She just looks at Bogdan and starts chanting under her breath. When she starts repeating the chant, Vince takes it up, then the next coven member. One by one the chant is picked up and increased each time someone takes it up.

The demon inside Bogdan starts feeling the effects of the magic as it builds. He tries fighting it, but the magic was getting to be too strong to fight. He strikes out at Cassandra and Vince. He knew they were the keys to break and stop the magic. He tries punching through the protective shield that protected the coven members.

He manages to punch through and hits Vince in the chest. He smiles as he tries again. He gets ready for another punch.

Vince had taken the punch to his chest. He could hear his ribs crack. He grits his teeth to keep from screaming out and to keep from letting the pain get to him.

Just as Bogdan is about to strike Vince again, a sai appears in his chest. He looks down at it as it pokes through his body. He then feels himself being surrounded by magical energies as the air turns to crystal. It forms around him, trapping him inside. The sai had shot out of his chest and lands on the floor behind the coven members.

The crystal starts to shrink as the magical energies seal him inside permanently. The coven members stop chanting and Vince collapse to the floor. The coven member nearest him picks him up off the floor.

Amy comes walking in with blood covering her body. The clothes she had were in rags. She had plenty of bite marks and whelps from claws on her body. She had kept her mind cleared and killed all the ruby heads that had come after her.

She walks over to where her sai had landed that she threw. She picks it up and walks over towards Cassandra and Vince. She glances towards the reddish crystal laying where Bogdan had been standing.

All the coven members were exhausted. You could see the veins beneath their skin. They slowly make their way outside and collapse near a huge tree.

Amy could see that Cassandra was having trouble carrying her husband. Even with the help of the other coven member. She walks over to help Vince. She is careful as she moves Vince over to the same tree where the other coven members were. They looked like they were drawing energy up from the ground.

Isa looks towards the door of Cassandra and Vince’s house. She had felt the magical energies that protected the house power down. She had her sword ready just in case it was people coming for Angela.

The door opens, Cassandra and her coven come walking in. Behind them was Amy and she was covered in blood. Isa was looking for Kadyn but didn’t see her.

“What happened to Kadyn?”

“She gave her life destroying the fence surrounding Bogdan’s place.” Cassandra couldn’t believe that Kadyn was gone.

Isa just shakes her head. How is she going to break it to Angela that Kadyn is dead?

“She’s not gone, sweetie.” Betty comes walking into the living room in the nude.

Cassandra and the coven members look at Betty and listen to what she said.

“What do you mean she’s not dead?” Cassandra was curious about that.

“Just that. She’s in Angela’s bedroom right now curled up next to Angela. I put her back on her bed with Kadyn.” Betty walks over and wraps her arm around Isa’s waist.

Cassandra helps her husband to the sofa. She chants a few words and the next thing people hear, is the cracking of the bones in Vince’s chest fixing themselves. Cassandra blocks the pain from her husband as his bones reknit themselves.

“Ouch!” Isa knew that Vince ribs reknitting themselves must have hurt.

“Now you know how painful it is when I change shapes.” Betty places a kiss on Isa’s cheek.

Isa just looks at her wife “I feel it each time you go through our link.”

Cassandra looks at her husband “are you feeling better?”

Vince takes a breath “for now. The pain should subside by morning. As for the crystal that Bogdan is sealed in. I think it might be best to give it to sparrow to handle. She can toss it somewhere or put it on the moon or something.”

“She’s probably asleep right now. I won’t wake her.” Cassandra had noticed that she was pregnant the last time she showed up at their place.

“That might be a good idea, Cassandra. My Alpha is pregnant right now.” Isa didn’t think it would be wise to call on her right now.

“Why don’t we all get some sleep and we’ll figure this out in the morning.” Cassandra walks over to a jar and put the crystal that had Bogdan trapped inside and seal it.

The coven members camp out on the floor of their High Priestess floor. Isa and Betty lay down in the guest room and Amy camps outside, after taking a bath to remove the blood still covering her. Cassandra fetches her some clean clothes to wear.

Before Cassandra goes to bed, she checks on Angela to see how she is doing. She notices that Kadyn was curled up next to Angela.

“Thank Goddess, you didn’t die. Angela would have been heartbroken.”

Kadyn lifts her head up and looks at Cassandra “I did die. I’m like the Phoenix, I’m reborn from my ashes. I now only have eight lives left.”

“Well, I am happy you are back, and I know Angela is too.”

Angela rolls over on her side and wraps her arms around Kadyn. She pulls Kadyn to her. Kadyn snuggles close to Angela and purrs. She couldn’t imagine leaving Angela right now.

Cassandra heads back to her bedroom and joins her husband in bed. She was glad this matter with the vampire Master and Bogdan was over. Maybe now, they could work on being a family.

In the morning time, the house is busy. The coven members that had jobs to get to, left right away. Vince was taking the day off from work.
Sparrow showed up to return Amy back to her mother and to retrieve her two pack members. She does stick around to find out what Cassandra wanted to do to Bogdan since he was trapped.

Cassandra hands the crystal that contains Bogdan inside to Sparrow.

“Do you think you can find a safe place to keep him?”

Sparrow looks at Bogdan inside the crystal “oh, I can think of a few places. However, I think it’s time to send him on his way, so he can be returned to the universe.”

Sparrow crushes the crystal in her hand and watches as Bogdan’s spirit is released to the universe. As for the demon he had summoned and joined himself too, it returns to where it came from. It knew not to tempt a Grim Reaper.

Once everyone has left. Vince, Cassandra, and Angela sit outside in the garden enjoying the warm weather. Kadyn was sitting on Angela’s lap and enjoying the petting she was getting.

“Is it finally over mom and dad?” Angela hopes so.

“Hopefully yes. Now, we must wonder what the packs and other covens are going to do since the vampires have been forbidden to come to this area.”

“Only the supernatural council will know what is next. Now, young lady, you can finally have a life.” Vince looks over to Angela and was happy she could finally be safe.
