I first started writing transgender fiction in the 1990s, shortly after I learned to use microsoft word. Prior to that, I used to draw comics featuring a "Mary-Sue" character named Cathy. She was a pretty, good-natured blonde who frequently found herself undressed in public, usually through some embarrassing misadventure. My inspiration came from
The Benny Hill Show and other British comedies of the time. 'Cathy' was one of my alter egos, I often role-played vaguely risqué scenarios then committed them to paper.
