So, those of you who follow my work, for which I am eternally grateful for, might notice a rather significant change has taken place with my postings in that my Prom Changes Everything series has had the entirety of the body of work removed. That's because...well...I have no clue how to actually delete the post itself until the BCTS gods and goddesses hear my pleas and are able to remove it for me. But I guess you want to know why it's been removed in the first place. Well, that's because I finally took the quite scary plunge of actually publishing this book on Amazon today. While it won't be available to be purchased for up to 72 hours, I'm hoping that those of you who have enjoyed my work will continue with your amazing support and either recommend the book to a friend to buy or buy it yourself. The entire process of this book from start to finish with all of the amazing support and encouragement I've received from everyone here has been exhausting, but in a great way. While it's incredibly draining to write a book of this emotional scale, it's a good kind of draining because I know that I've put my heart into my words and it's not mere pandering to the masses just to make a buck or two.
Anyway, so that's the reason why I've taken down the story, but please look for it on Amazon next week and if you want feel free to purchase a copy. Thank you again for all of your wonderful comments and support and I hope I'm able to continue providing you with enjoyable, heartfelt reading in the future.
Edit: Apparently Amazon works a lot faster than I thought because my book has already gone live and is available for purchase, so please feel free to check it out and pick up a copy. I'm also working on making it available in print but that's proving to be a slower process (largely due to my horrible internet connection speeds) but I hope to have a paperback option available within a day or two.
I'm posting the Amazon.com link here but it should be available in pretty much every country that has Amazon. Just do a title search for it and you should have no trouble finding it.

So, I came across something today that I think I need to address. First and foremost, just so there's no misunderstanding, I greatly appreciate everyone who has purchased my work or read it through the Kindle Unlimited program. I also appreciate the many compliments that have been left on Amazon. That being said, I ran across something in the comments section of one of my books that is a bit concerning to me. For my book Resurgence, which is book 1 of my Entwined Fates series, someone left a comment regarding it on Amazon.
Now, I am in no way criticizing the person who left the comment since, after all, it was very complimentary. However, there were a few things said in these comments that are a bit troubling. I won't go into specifics, but essentially this person mis-identified the characters' 'race' and put out a fairly significant spoiler regarding a plot in the series that has yet to be published.
Now, let me reiterate, I am not blasting the person who left this comment in any shape or form. I know that the intention of writing it was to express how much they enjoyed my work and they were not seeking to deliberately cause any kind of issues. So no, I'm not angry at this person, but this does present me with the opportunity to make a humble request to those on this site who would like to leave any comments about my work on Amazon. Please try to avoid spoilers in your review. I understand that sometimes it can slip out, especially if you are writing from the heart, but a fair amount of the success with this series, as well as any author's series really, is the unknown for what lies ahead. It entices the reader to look forward to and purchase the next book because they want to see where this is all leading to. While it wasn't a huge spoiler, by this person referring to a place or event in one of the books that still has yet to be published, it eliminates some of the mystery and excitement for the readers of my work.
So again, thank you to everyone who has enjoyed my work and spent your money on purchasing a copy of it, but if you choose to leave a comment about my work on Amazon, or Goodreads, or anywhere else, please try not to include any spoilers in your review. As much as you might have enjoyed the story and some of the twists and turns, I would like for everyone who reads my work to enjoy them as well.
Almost two years ago I published a little book called Prom Changed Everything. It was, honestly, a passion project that initially I hadn't even thought about publishing. Back during those days and long before them, while I loved to write I never considered myself good enough to actually publish. Whether that was due to self-esteem issues, not feeling what I wrote was anywhere good enough quality to consider publishing (which in all honesty most of it probably wasn't), or I simply didn't see a means to accomplish it in the first place, I held off on even attempting such a feat. It really was only because of some really supportive people on story sharing sites (many of whom are here as well) that I felt what I produced was good enough to elevate my stories to the level of actually asking people to pay money to read them.
Which is why I wanted to address something that is commonly asked or brought up in reviews of Prom Changed Everything: When's the sequel?!?!?
Honestly, there probably won't be one. Prom was... I was in a very unique mindset when I wrote that book and isn't something I can artificially recreate. Erika's story in Prom Changed Everything is one that I sort of wrote to completion. Yes, it ended with a slight opening for a sequel, but at the time I felt her story had concluded and I don't have anything more to tell with it. To try and force a sequel would, quite frankly, likely result in disaster and I absolutely refuse to do that to a cast of characters that all hold very special places in my heart. Will I never write a sequel to it? No, I can't say that. There is a very real possibility that lightning will strike a second time and I'll suddenly get inspired to continue Erika's story in some way. However, the only way the world will see it if that does happen is if I feel the quality is at a level that doesn't insult the original in any way. I can't and won't tarnish a story that I put my heart into just to make a few extra bucks with a half-assed sequel and feed off my readers' eagerness for a continuation of a good story.
So, there's a very good chance that there will never be a continuation of Erika's story because right now I don't think there needs to be one. Her story was told and from what all of you have indicated it was told well, and in the end that's all I ever wanted from Prom Changed Everything.

For Aiden, bladecraft was life. It was all he ever wanted to do. School, friends, a social life, none of that could ever compare. To say it was a calling would be an understatement. It was a family tradition he was more than happy to continue.
But Aiden never expected there would be another tradition in his family, one that had been kept secret from him all his life. A tradition he had to accept, no matter how hard he fought it.
Now, his world has become a very different place, one that holds hardship and wonder he never thought possible. With danger lurking in the shadows, Aiden has to try and accept this dramatic change in his life...
Along with a new kind of calling.
Available now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.
A missing person's case. That's all it was supposed to be. Sure there were all the signs of something magical being involved, but it wasn't anything Ember figured she couldn't handle. Of course, that was before the witch's coven that had shunned her all her life decided it was time to try and shove their weight around. Now, not only did she have to try and find a worried mother's lost son, but she had to deal with a collective of uppity witches looking to settle a decades-old grudge. Not to mention fulfilling a decidedly sexy contract she'd made with the equally sexy premier vampire in town.
It was enough to have anyone seriously questioning their life choices.
However, when a body shows up with clear signs that they're tied to her missing person, Ember realizes that nothing about this case is simple anymore, and that the consequences from it may run far deeper than she could have imagined.

Smart, tough, and sexy. Those are just a few of the words people would use to describe Ember, and not necessarily in that order. Then again, being a witch with a penchant for the kind of magic almost exclusive to dark, steamy nights soaked in lust, it's not hard to get them mixed up. Content would have been another choice word if you asked her. She had a successful apothecary that helped the people of her community and no shortage of lovers eagerly awaiting their chance to try and satisfy her. It was the kind of life that she was happy to live for a very long time. Too bad there were some who didn't feel the same way.
This is the beginning of a new series unlike any I've written before in that there is no transgender theme involved with this book... yet. I wanted BCTS to be one of the first places I put the word out about it here because I started seriously writing right here on this site and my books wouldn't be as successful as they are now without it and its members. I realize it's a bit different and perhaps offputting that this new book won't contain any transgender themes, but I hope that people here give it a chance because I think you might enjoy it and the subsequent books in the series.
Also, please note that image above will not be the book's cover. That image is done by a tremendous artist by the name of Anthony Guebels and is, of course, copyrighted material. I only used it here because, frankly, this image itself was the inspiration for the book and more specifically the lead character, so I thought it would be the most effective way to introduce her and the book to my readers.
Slow Burn will be available on Amazon on July 1st.

Three roads and three lives have all been leading to this. Don't miss the thrilling conclusion of the Entwined Fates series, available now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback format.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. She was supposed to have been cured. She had been cured. All of those horrible impulses and instincts that had ruled her life were supposed to be gone. She was supposed to be able to live her life like a normal teenage fey girl… with paranormal abilities… going to a special school for fey like her. Okay, ‘normal’ was a bit of a stretch, but she wasn’t supposed to be a raging nymphomaniac anymore.
Yet after a single encounter, those dreaded carnal desires have re-emerged even stronger than before, threatening to take control and break Kitty’s already fractured mind. Now, a new battle is raging, one that no one can see, experience, or understand except her.
This time, however, there is far more at stake than merely her sanity.
Available now on Amazon.
The entire Entwined Fates series is now available to buy as a set on Kindle through Amazon's U.S store. Previously, it was only available through the U.K site but now U.S residents can purchase the series in its entirety with one click here:
As a way to ring in the Fall, I'm offering two books this month instead of my usual one. Happy reading!
Going to a new school is always a bit unnerving. Going to a new school that's in another country and specializes in teaching fey how to use their abilities, well that's on a whole different level of scary and exciting. It sounded like a dream and felt the same when Ashley, Aiden, and Kitty had been accepted.
Now the trick was getting there.
It was going to be quite the long road trip, but one that would be well worth the trouble if everything they'd been promised was true.
But when one of them starts experiencing heat in her dreams and a whisper in her mind, it's the beginning of something that will change the girls' lives forever.

After being blackmailed into figuring out why a psychopath had a curse put on him, nearly getting killed, twice, and discovering dragons really do exist, there really was only one logical choice for Ember going forward:
Become a magically specialized private investigator.
Now, Ember is trying to navigate a whole new way of life filled with paperwork, apprenticeships, trying to keep her dragon lover's true nature a secret, and a significant adjustment to how she views the world. If that wasn't headache enough, a new group of players in town have put her squarely into the middle of an attempted murder investigation.
Forced to partner up with the detective assigned to the case, Ember will put her budding P.I. skills, along with her magical ones, to the test to stop them, before they kill those she cares for.

They had known going in that the journey would be long and it would most certainly be challenging. Then again, that had been the whole point of taking the long way around. To get out, see the world, and truly face the fears each carried with them on their way to a safe haven with the promise of helping them master abilities they themselves didn't fully understand.
Of course, no one had anticipated the numerous challenges that came with such an undertaking, and the life-altering changes that resulted from them.
Now the time had come for them to find out if their destination truly was the sanctuary they'd sought.

She'd seen it coming. Ever since Harold Westlake had made his announcement that he would be running for President, Kitty had been trying to warn her friends and teachers just how bad things were going to get. And yet, no one was doing anything about it. No matter how much she sounded the alarm, everyone kept telling her to just believe that things would work out.
But things wouldn't just work out. Kitty knew this, even if everyone else had collectively decided to stick their heads in the sand. The evidence was there and couldn't possibly be clearer.
There was a war coming for the fey, and Kitty knew that if they stood any kind of a chance of surviving, she would have to do something to stop it herself.

Her name was Kitty...at least, that was what she had been told after waking up with no idea where or who she was. Kitty, the girl who was supposed to be mourning the recent loss of a mother she had no memory of. Kitty, the loving, devoted daughter of a kind and understanding father who was a complete stranger to her. Kitty, the girl who was determined to move forward with her life despite not remembering where she'd started.
Kitty...the girl whose past was nothing but a lie.

Life had been pretty simple for Ray. Eat, sleep, draw, and geek out over anime and manga with his small circle of friends. So when one of those friends suggested engaging in some cosplay for an upcoming Comicon as some of their favorite anime characters, it sounded like the perfect summer activity. That was until he found out just which character he was supposed to be.
What started as a fun idea quickly turned into a mixture of inner conflict and self-discovery that Ray had never known even existsed and served as the root for one of the most dramatic and uncertain changes in his young life. The question was, would this roller coaster be a fun-filled thrill-ride, or a complete derailment of everything in his life.

So, I decided to redo the cover for High Heels in a Minefield. Why? Author's prerogative. That and lately the previous cover just didn't quite feel right to me for some reason, like the character image on it didn't really feel like it matched the one in the book. So, I whipped up a new one. So if you're either browsing through my offerings or have already downloaded the book and suddenly notice it has a completely different cover, don't worry, you're still perfectly sane.
Edit November 10, 2018:
So, a few people have commented about how much they liked the first cover of the book. The reasons why I decided to move on from that cover so long ago are for two specific reasons.
Reason one, while I know the title is High Heels in a Minefield, the story itself is about a teenager, not an adult, and I felt the first cover image depicting a woman's legs and feet while wearing a pair of stiletto sandals was perhaps a bit too adult in theme considering the nature of the story. Yes, this book is romantic in nature, but it's not adult romance. A little while after it was published, I started feeling like the cover wasn't really conveying the proper feeling I wanted for the book and so I made the change.
Reason two, this was only my second book to be published and I was still beyond green when it came to the art of putting together a decent book cover. I was incredibly lucky with Prom Changed Everything because I not only found the absolutely perfect image for it, but the artist of the piece was extremely gracious enough to allow me to use it for the cover for no charge. Author's know how rare that is, so when the time came to publish High Heels in a Minefield, I was limited to the use of whatever stock photos Amazon had available during the publishing process. Obviously, I've learned a great deal about cover crafting since those days, but it always bugged me how limited my choices were back then and how I couldn't truly find the right image through Amazon to illustrate the type of book I was publishing. Was it a sexy image? Absolutely, but 'sexy' isn't what High Heels is about, so I made the change.
I hope this offers a bit of insight into my thought process behind making these changes.
Chronologically speaking, Ashley had only spent a small portion of her time on the planet in what couldn’t really even be charitably considered ‘less than ideal circumstances’. To someone who had actually lived through that hell, well… let’s just say whoever even considered that comparison should probably get punched in the face.
Still, the experiences had both hurt Ashley to the core, and yet she came out just a little bit stronger each time.
But the pain of her past wasn’t something that could simply be forced to disappear, even in a world inhabited by people with strange and wondrous powers. It was something that would take time, a whole bunch of therapy, and most importantly, the love, compassion, and bond of those that cared for her. Even with dark forces still at work all around her, it was starting to happen. Slowly but surely the frightened young girl was starting to understand.
Ashley had both a power and a strength she never truly realized she possessed, and with the support of her friends she just might be able to start actually taking them on.

The world has become a very different place. What must have been a lifetime ago, Aiden had been perfectly content going to school, having maybe one friend, and hammering away at her forge. Of course, that was before she Awakened as a fey, turned into a girl, and realized she came from a long line of werewolves. Since that moment, her life had been turned upside-down with new discoveries, gut-wrenching betrayals, heart-wrenching loss, and meeting a pair of girls who had become as close to being sisters as anyone could get without sharing DNA. And still, nothing had prepared her for what was easily the most challenging endeavor of her young life...
High school.
Now Aiden was struggling to balance remembering her World History lesson, better understanding how to work in tandem with the wolf that had become a part of her very soul, and dealing with the insanity that was practically a requirement of high school. On top of that, she and her friends now had to contend with the fear that the man directly responsible for destroying one of their lives suddenly deciding he’d like to relocate his operation to the Oval Office and had a really good chance of succeeding.
But there is strength in numbers, and nothing in the world is stronger than a wolf’s pack.
Available now on Amazon in paperback and Kindle (Don't worry, they two should get linked together into one hyperlink with Amazon very soon).
Author's Note: So things went a touch haywire with this particular publication. The paperback ended up going live a day earlier than the Kindle version, which may confuse some people. Rest assured, both paperback and Kindle versions are live and available for purchase. Also, the book didn't automatically get enrolled in KDP Select for those who use Kindle Unlimited for your books, but I've since corrected that and it should be available in that vein very shortly. Sorry for any confusion and happy reading!

A petite, teenage boy is challenged with the most horrifying night of his young life and is forced to adapt to the changes afterwards that results from it.
Some people may recognize this from a story of the same name posted to Fictionmania a long time ago. That's because it is the same story, posted by me, only I went by the pen name Mercurial Erika back then. I'd left it alone for a while because I was losing my muse and was concerned it was becoming boring and stale. Well, my muse is back and she's shotgunning Red Bull (I think I may have to use that line in a story later) so I've picked it back up again and this time I intend to finish it. I hope that you enjoy it.
Fate could be unmercifully cruel. At least, that's what Ashley Flynn thought when his parents were taken from him in a deadly car crash at the age of fourteen. He never anticipated that what came after would easily be one of the most terrifying times of his young life. And yet somehow, he was able to survive. After enduring constant pain, humiliation, and fear for years, Ashley finally found the strength to do what needed to be done to escape from the living nightmare that had become his daily existence...
...Only to realize that fate wasn't even close to being done with him yet.
My new book, Resurgence, has just gone live on Amazon so please check it out here

So, on Saturday, I was in the middle of shopping for groceries when I received this email from Amazon's KDP division:
Due to repeated Content Guideline violations in regards to books you have submitted through your account, specifically books that disappoint our customers, we are terminating your account and your Agreement effective immediately.
I got that email for both Prom Changed Everything and High Heels in a Minefield. Now, bear in mind I never once received any kind of notification from Amazon or KDP prior to this that there were any problems whatsoever with my books or their content (yes, I checked my spam folder). The line about how my books "disappoint our customers" really threw me because outside of a few trolls here and there, every single one of my books has received very positive reviews. What does disappointing their customers even mean? Did someone complain about the content of my books? And yet, in literally the snap of a finger, my account was terminated for no discernable reason I can fathom.
At present, only my latest book Call of the Hunt is still available for purchase on Kindle, likely because I orchestrated its entire publication through Createspace (which may apparently be shut down too since it is an Amazon company). All of my books are still available for paperback purchase, though again I don't know how long that is going to last. I emailed KDP and was told yesterday that they need to look into my situation and would get back to me by Friday. I have no idea what this means for me and my future with Amazon, but don't think that it means the end of seeing my work in publication. I already have emails into several publishing companies asking if they would be interested in publishing my work and I do have a few other self-publishing alternatives I'm looking into as well. There might be a slight delay in being able to purchase my books, through Kindle at least, but you can be sure they will be available to everyone who wants to buy a copy soon.
I'll try updates coming, especially if my account is reinstated, but if you're okay with a paperback copy of my work those are still available to purchase.
Well, much to my insanely great relief, I just received an email from Amazon informing me that after conducting an audit it was discovered that my account was terminated in error and I've been fully reinstated. Everything seems to be back to the way it was, though the Kindle books aren't yet available. My guess is it'll take a little bit of time to reactivate them in the store but it shouldn't be long. I just want to thank everyone here who offered me such great support and advice about what to do if things ended up going to a worst-case scenario. I hope that in the future I won't need to utilize that advice, but I'm grateful to have received it.
Happy reading everyone!
Edit 2/8/18: So after waiting for two days, all of the books are finally back up and available for both Kindle and paperback so Kindle versions can once again be purchased and hopefully the series page will be re-establish very soon as well.

Helping people. That was the whole reason why Ember had chosen to get into the P.I. business from day one. After all, there weren't any that delved into the magic aspects of the business and based upon what she’d dealt with in the last few months there was clearly a need for that kind of specialization. So, who better to take on that kind of work than a witch with something of a knack for detective work getting trained by one of the best P.I. teams in Portland?
It seemed like the perfect match, and so far it was. Ember was honing her skills and contributing to helping a segment of the population that had largely been ignored by those lacking the skills and knowledge to deal with cases involving magic. She was discovering just how fulfilling this line of work could be and was well on her way to being ready to step out on her own into this new world.
However, when a case is brought to her mentor’s agency, the budding detective quickly finds herself plunged into a world that she might not be prepared to face. When surrounded by people who crave and thrive upon forcing their depraved desires upon those society has forgotten about, Ember will find her very way of life put to the test and begin to question herself in ways she never imagined possible.
