Notta Summer Musical

By JessicaC

Except for our university, no one had heard of the Beta Chi Nu House. We didn’t even use the Greek letters unless it was to our advantage. It started in the in the late 50s with blue collar non-coms going to college under the GI Bill. Those guys had served in WWII or during the Korean (Conflict) War. BCN attached a women’s house in the late 60s thus we’re no longer thought as a fraternity. We weren’t finesse and showy like the Greek fraternities and sororities, though to their displeasure we had secured property on Fraternity-Sorority Row. The grunts of wars, conflicts and diminishing of unions have continued to supply students who identify with us.

Word is, it started with eight GIs, a plumber and electrician. The city and university had tried to permit them to death, but after they secured the property they just built and exceeded all the codes. The property was available because it had been deemed unusable. A Sea-Bee and military engineering proved them wrong. What irked the neighbors, especially the sorority directly to the East was the perceived lack of social skills. They, the original members, really did have them; it was just the inopportune times they appeared not too. Come the mid-70s, the house started to allow a select group of the rich in. The third generation of the Pills… family have a social conscience and their money was good.

=^..^=

Come the early 70s, our sorority became comfortable and then even good neighbors with the Beta Chi Nu House. It is just they had times: they called them little burps, we usually call them belches. Some of their guys would invade and act out old fraternity pranks. Though they didn’t believe it, there was a scoundrel or two in their house. A house of some thirty guys and twenty women doesn’t rate a lot of scrutiny at a university of our size. Officially they’re a manageable nuisance, unofficially they are usually good neighbors.

It is two weekends before finals and spring fever has hit full force. Beta Chi Nu is in their element and liked by all the houses along the row; they’re hosting a big pre-books and exams party. It’s Sunday evening, Coleen Robbins and four other sorority girls just got back from our national meeting, a busy four days in NYC. Instead of celebrating they’re crashing early mid-day.

We guess this was not expected by some Blue Collar Non-com pranksters. Imal Jones, Jay Jackson and Greg Johns had entered thru a door on the porch landing on the third floor; two guys were on a second floor landing to receive what was being taken, mostly delicates to be rudely displayed around campus. While others were on the ground with a souped-up four wheeler with wagon and covering. They were two thirds through their haul when Imal and Greg each discovered a room with someone unexpectedly sleeping. Besides closing doors a bit too hard they crashed into each other entering their exit room.

Coleen was the first to wake and yell for the others to wake up. All of 5’ 6”, she was no shrinking violet and went on the attack. Imal was big enough that he was having trouble negotiating the regress window. She jumped on him and had him around the shoulders and neck and hung on for life like a bronco rider. Greg was trying to pull her off when Jaci and Amber tackled him. Their belts were quickly off and wrapped around the legs of Imal and Greg. Jay entered the room only to be surprised front and back by the sorority girls and gave up without resistance.

What also worried the guys was the security alarm that went off when they opened the window. Colleen climbed off of Imal and told someone, “Quickly call Bridgette, she has some songs to write. …Just call her and get her and some of the others back here before the police come.”

Coleen confronts the guys, “Who were the others out on the deck and down on the ground. I have an idea to keep you out of jail. Cooperate if you want to keep your scholarships and going to this university. Hurry you need to cooperate. Oh, first can any of you sing?”

Imal says, “To stay out of jail and on scholarship we can all sing!” He mumbles, “Damn, I even talked my way into being on the inside.”

Amber giggles with delight in telling him and the others, “Take heart, Coleen has the best imagination for getting even. Just hope you don’t wished the police got you first.”

=^..^=

Coleen tells the other girls, “Help them to strip down and ready to participate in this summer’s musical. Someone get some depilatory cream and ready the showers.”

Greg says, “What’s with the showers with the police soon to be here.”

Coleen laughs, “There’s another reason that the law delays in entering some neighborhoods. Here it gives us rich girls and boys the time to get our act together. In this case it is to your advantage as well. Some of us just got back from a long weekend conference with our national sorority and one of the topics was inclusivity. It will be to each of our benefits to work together. We don’t like publicity we get from your antics.”

Amber told the guys, “Turn your backs to us, we’re not as excited in seeing your gifts to women as much as you might think.”

With belts around their ankles, turning was not an easy task. The women at Coleen’s request started to apply the depilatory cream to most areas of the guys’ bodies, save their heads and genital area. Needless to say the guys were more than a little embarrassed. It showed with more than blushing faces.

Coleen said, “I know Teresa our housekeeper is off today but she might be in her apartment. Someone please knock and ask if she has an old dress or clothing that Imal might be able to wear, including a panty and bra, we can pay her handsomely. She is the only one who might have something his size.”

Jaci said, “I don’t think that will work as she is noticeably shorter than Imal.”

“That would be more Imal’s problem than Teresa’s. It will be good for the show and he needs to be convincing when the police show up.” It was just then that the men were allowed into the showers to rinse off the cream and their unwanted hair. Seemingly from their response only Jay previously knew what was to happen. “How do you guys like the new you?”

Amber says, “Wash your hands real well and only then use the shampoo twice as you shower and then the conditioner and allow the conditioner to stay on three minutes or a little more.”

=^..^=

Word comes that the police have arrived and so Coleen goes down to meet them and share the story of what is happening. It also gave those upstairs extra time to get ready. Coleen is up-front, “A few guys from Beta Chi Nu House have invaded our house and taken some things, causing a problem. If possible, instead of formally making charges we’d prefer Officers Tracy and Peg’s help in working out a mutual agreement. As well as get a few more of them to accept their responsibility for participating in the crime.”

Officers Peg and Tracey were open to the possibility, though no one would promise charges would not be filed, with or without the sorority house’s permission. The other officers left for now. Sargent Tracy heading up the investigation asked to see the crime scenes. They started with showing pieces of clothing in the back, outside on the ground. Tracy and Peg soon found pieces of jewelry that the girls had not seen. Looking up other clothing and jewelry was seen on steps and railing.

Tracey was surprised when they asked if they recognized or knew any of the students who perpetuated the crime. Coleen said, “Yes, hopefully they are dressed and waiting for you up on the third floor. Can I tell you an idea I have before we present them too you?

Officer Peg said, “Do we want to hear this, we can’t be part of avoiding justice?”

Coleen said, “If you decide arrests and formal prosecution are necessary, we will not interfere. We may have convinced the guys to be as you find them, but we did not force them to do anything. Well, we did apprehend them and kept them here until you came.”

“Our idea is to get them to help in the return of stolen property, pay for damages and agree to cross dress and take part in a summer musical we are organizing as we go.” The officers were amused with Coleen’s mischievous look as they walked up to the third floor. Upon getting there Coleen asked, “If the three are decent, have them come out to meet the Officers.”

Coleen turned to Amber who said, “Mrs. Adrienne Crothers said she’d try to be here in fifteen to thirty minutes.”

Sargent Tracey asked, “Would that be Judge Crothers?”

Coleen said, “We wanted to make sure any agreement that was reached would be legal as well as binding.” With that said Greg, Imal and Jay walked out to meet the officers. Both officers’ had trouble keeping straight faces as the men stepped out in women’s attire.

Jaci was correct Teresa’s old dress was short on Imal; it reached above his knees but it did fit well enough to be closed all the way around. All three were confused, Greg spoke up, “You said, we’d be able to do this without prosecution or being in trouble with university officials?”

Coleen was abrupt, “You’ve taken the first steps by agreeing to participate with the musical, yes?” She continued once he was quiet, “We want all the things taken from the house returned. The officers already found that jewelry was taken. From two pieces they found, I saw they weren’t cheap cosmetic jewelry items. I am suspecting one scoundrel, but you need to name him or them to make sure we get our stuff back and some embarrassing lessons are learned.”

Sargent Tracy Andrews says, “Trespassing and stealing would make this a class felony. Something you might want to avoid. If we feel there is a crime and it is not quickly rectified; we will move contrary to the sorority’s wishes and charge you with at least two crimes and investigate until everything and everyone is brought to justice. Do you understand?”

Greg speaks up, “I’m not comfortable ratting on anyone. Don’t you need to read us our rights?”

Tracy asked, “You want us to arrest and charge you with crimes? Once that starts, your rights will be read and you will be going to jail. You might want to consider cooperating with the people in the sorority. If I take it you are Greg, Imal and Jay. I will suggest that Imal goes with Officer Peg and Jaci. I will take Greg and Colleen and Jay can be seated with Amber, Bridgette and the others. If any of you seek to flee the premise until I say your free to go or if you to cause any more trouble, I will forcefully detain you and charge you with resisting arrest, which would complicate everything.”

Tracy says, “Greg, I need to record this, more as protection that I am not abusing you, your rights or overstepping my ethics as an officer. I need you to tell me your name, whether or not you are here illegally? How you come to be dressed and appear presently? Did these women forcefully dress you as you are or did you freely choose to comply with suggestions made to you?

“I’m Greg Johns and I reside at the Beta Chi Nu House and as a prank I entered the sorority house to take some of their belongings. We expected the house was empty and their members were at our party or elsewhere. When I entered Coleen’s room I discovered she was asleep there and immediately sought to leave the premises. None of us wanted to dress in these clothes, but neither did they force us to put them on. They said cooperating we could reach an agreement that avoided legal prosecution or problems with university officials. Their stuff is being lowered into our house through an old coal chute into a store room. Robby Masters was on the ground and he’s the one handling the merchandise. No jewelry or valuables other than clothing and posters were to be taken.

The three had been interviewed; Stan Miller and Nick Schmidt were named as the men on the landing, Robbie Hartfield was named by everyone as well as Joel Porter.

=^..^=

Judge Adrienne Crothers had arrived and heard most of Greg’s confession. She suggested, “Officer Tracy, if Officers Nancy Talbot or Ed Lamb are on duty, you might call in and request them to go to Beta, Chi Nu and detain those who are named and check that room. If not with the house’s blessing then everything is to be sealed until I formally approve a search warrant. Those men should be brought over here but meet us on the main floor. They will find it in their interest to reach an agreement.

Robbie Hartfield will also need to agree to a search of his room and other areas of the house he is known to frequent. I believe things of value and not owned by him can be taken from his room and elsewhere to qualify charges being brought against him. We will reach a plea agreement he will not like, but that will still be in his best interest.”

Imal, Jay and Greg, I will accept your formal agreement to participate with Amber, Coleen and Jaci in an independent study, ‘The Diversity of Lifestyles in the 21st Century’ this summer through the university. You will formally need to be registered for it, before final exams begin and the semester ends. I will also accept your agreement with the other men involved from your house to practice and participate in the sorority house’s summer musical this coming August. I understand the present title is, ‘Ken in a Barbie World’.”

She asks, “Coleen are you sure this will not be seen in conflict with the toy people making those dolls?

Coleen says, “Judge Crothers, this is Bridgette Anne Handler, her family is connected with the corporation and she is sure we can reach an agreement.”

=^..^=

Bridgette says hi to Judge Crothers and addresses the men, “We’ve already sung through twice one song roughly composed.” She turns to the three men, “I want you to sing for her Honor Ms. Crothers so she knows you’re not being forced but you're singing on you own volition.” She begins to play, “One two, three…”

They begin to sing, “It’s no fun living in a drab world, we’d rather carry fashion bags and be cosmetic girls… …Ken fore goes the macho world, prefers to join the Barbie girls.”

Judge Crothers says thanks to Coleen and the other house members, expressing sympathy for their problems. “I do approve your creative approach to hold these men accountable without damaging their future education and careers. This agreement allows for formal legal action if their cooperation and the return of property is not forth coming.”

“Imal, Greg and Jay, it is my understanding that the loss of scholarships would be very detrimental to your continuing as students here. What would criminal charges, or worse with convictions mean for your education and careers?” She paused, “I need to ask if each of you men are able to commit $500 each to your new wardrobes? Your participation in the study as well as the musical should at least be in part borne by each of you.” Each rattles off a new computer, car repairs or a TV that it will cost them.

Jay speaks up, “I’m a semester away from graduating in December. There is no way I can afford the costs or time of starting over again somewhere else! We three are all in agreement, the guys down stairs probably could use Colleen’s persuasion to agree. If she doesn’t persuade them, I most certainly will!”

Judge Crothers says, “I will leave you three ladies to these house members here to begin your special studies or continue your practicing. I will go downstairs to meet with your colleagues and to see if the House can reach an agreement with them or hand them over to these two officers. My secretary will meet with Coleen and others. We should have the agreement written up by Tuesday noon or no later than 4:00 p.m. that day for you three to sign. Good day.”

=^..^=

Kris, another member of the house, asks, “Coleen please stay behind just for a moment these three need to ask a question before we arrange for their beautification this week.”

Everyone waits for the Officers and Judge to leave, Amber already knows the situation so she goes downstairs with the others.

“Now that they’re gone, what do you three need to ask,” Coleen questions?

Each man reaches into their purse and pulls out a disk and shows it. Jay says, “She set two pills out for each of us and told us,” pointing to Kris, “that we shouldn’t take the pills. But then she said, after we take them the agreement can move on. She said it should be our plan take two pills every day or every other day until they’re gone. I told the guys to do it. Does this mean were supposed to do it?”

Coleen has trouble containing herself, but she regains her composure. “It’s what you agreed to and I guess it could help your experience. You technically should get your own prescriptions.”

Greg speaks up, “You can’t expect or make us do that.”

Coleen is on her way out of the room, “It was your decision and agreement. Judge Crothers is downstairs with the two officers, now is the time to decide you’re not living with your agreement. I’ll let you decide.” Kris thanks them for presenting their thoughts. Coleen again says, “Let us know if they change their decision. They have ten minutes while Ms. Crothers is downstairs.” Coleen leaves to go to the others.

Imal asks, “Is Judge Crothers from this sorority?”

Jaci says, “No, she is however a member of a sorority. Before you change out of your clothes, which you need not return and do need to keep. We need to do a few more things. The first being each having your ears pierced.”

Imal says, “I’ll warn you girls now. I hate needles and I better be seated where I won’t fall on one of you.”

Kris asks Jaci, “Teri, from ‘Good Ole Girls Salon and Spa’ is on the phone and wants to speak to you. What for?”

Jaci says, “We need each of these three to give half a day to be pampered with a facial, time in the spa and massage. I’m even flipping the costs, but it has to be done one of the next three days.”

Jay says, “I already had one of her massages after I screwed up my back. I won’t mind another one.” Jay and Imal made appointments for tomorrow, Monday afternoon.

Greg said, “If I need to be able to sign something Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday morning will work out, since I don’t have a class until two p.m.”

“Greg, Coleen text me. If you only have the one class Wednesday, she’d like to meet you here at 4:00 if possible,” Jaci. “She said, Judge Crothers says each of you should have at least one outfit by Friday to confirm the agreement.”

Jay says, “Or else what?”

Jaci responds, “There’s no ‘or else’, she just expects you to comply.”

Jay mutters, “I hate that.” Imal agrees, “Me too, but I’d rather get started instead of stewing about it.”

Greg and Jaci speak at the same time, both saying, “That’s probably a good way, just do it!” Greg looks at Jaci, not believing her and he said the same thing.

Jaci’s marked Greg’s ears and holding an ice cube on his right ear. Poke, “ouch”, a black onyx stud is in. “These are a new pair of my earrings. Don’t wear them in front of my mother.” She checks the mark on his left ear, pokes and he’s done. “Make sure you turn them twice yet tonight and numerous times tomorrow and use alcohol and cotton balls to keep away any infection while they heal.” Each of you should come over tomorrow and the next day so we can get to know you and every one can get passed any animosity between us.”

Coleen was back upstairs, sharing the news that four guys reached a similar agreement to participating in the musical. She did not know for sure, as the Judge and Officers would not say anything. Their smiles regarding Robbie indicated more stolen items were found in his possession. The understanding was Robbie’s agreement or plea deal would be in front of Judge Crothers officially the next day in court.

The guys got their first makeup lessons and a few eyebrow hairs pulled with tweezers before they left by 8:00 p.m.

=^..^=

Coleen confronted Greg, “Your coming to my room to talk things over and confirm my thought you don’t like me for some reason. What is it?”

Greg looked at Jaci before answering, “I thought you were a spoiled, pretty and delicate rich girl. I apologize. Your jumping on Imal and riding him like a bronco, showed me I was wrong. Your imagination and the way you handled us today, was not only humbling, but it won my respect though I’m sure my respect isn’t worth anything.”

Unashamedly he says, “I thought anyone with such an old fashion name must be a Mama’s girl.”

Coleen begins to giggle, “You sound sincere, though you’re right, I doubt your sincerity very much. You might as well know Coleen was my Great-Grandmother’s name. She was a feminist in the early 1900s and fought for temperance. But not for the reasons you might think. Drinking men often have a way of getting abusive and physical against women. Back then the law protected women worse than today. My Mom says, “When prohibition ended drinking was not frowned against in their house only abusive behavior whatever it was. But even the men of the family wouldn’t put up with abusing women.

“Great Grandma told my mother, one of her cousin-in-laws got abusive, the police didn’t do much. Her cousin-in-law was killed. The men of the family were accused of killing him, but nothing was proven. I’ll just say it wasn’t the men. I couldn’t do that, I think, but then I wasn’t there.”

“Today was kind of like, there’s usually another way. You might get embarrassed or given grief. I don’t really care, but I’m kind of happy you agreed to do it our way. You might think it is a bit overkill; I hope you see it differently in three months.”

“Like it or not, you’re my pet project to become the prettiest of the Barbies.”

Greg asks, “Why me?”

She says, “You come across to me as the smuggest, and from the old blue collar tradition. I doubt if you tell your mother that you love her?”

He says, “My Mom knows I love her, everyone in my family respects her for all she does.”

“Don’t be surprised if you Mom laughs out loud at you if she finds out about this. Respect for all she does is not a statement of love. You don’t get that do you?”

Greg smirks, “In two weeks I send her a Mother’s day card and underline the words of love twice. My sister does that. Will that please you?”

Coleen says, “Are you that dense or are you teasing me?”

Greg doesn’t get it, and he’s now frustrated, “I’ve been in this skirt and blouse for hours wearing a panty and bra. I don’t see me being in the position to tease anyone.”

Coleen’s a bit heated by now. “Your outfit was Jaci’s.” He looks to Jaci and she confirms the statement. “You can wear it back to your house, but I want you out of here now. Get out, you can have your clothes, but you can’t change here.”

=^..^=

Pantyhose coming off of hairless legs gives a wonderful sensation Greg did not expect. He knew what they had done was wrong. He didn’t understand Coleen or why she was upset with him. But he did like her, which he hadn’t before. The blouse he knew how to hang, the panties and bra were different. He folded them up the best he could and put them with his underwear. He wasn’t sure about the skirt, but put it went over a hanger he generally puts his slacks on.

Greg was too wound up to study or call it a night. He went downstairs to the common area and called his friend Deb down to talk. Deb said, “I’d rather not get in a public discussion with the whole house. If you want to talk come up to my room.”

Deb welcomed him, and he sat down to talk. “Sounds like you guys got yourselves in quite a situation. It should be an unusual summer vacation for you. I gather those pretty earrings confirm what I’m hearing about your punishment. I like you, but if you or the sorority girls need any help, I’m willing to help either or both.”

“You don’t really think this is good for me do you?” Greg has been surprised by Deb before. It’s one of the reasons he likes her, she can tell him things he generally won’t accept from others. She does like baseball and some other things he likes. She’s the sister he did not get close to. He’d like her to be a girlfriend, but it has never gotten there in two years.

Before leaving her room he finally works up the nerve to ask, “Coleen Robbins wants me to meet her over their House. I think she wants to take me shopping for an outfit Wednesday. I was wondering if you might be willing to go with me. I know it would be a little embarrassing but I think it would help me.

Deb breaks out giggling and it takes a few minutes to stop and attracts other girls on the floor. With Cate, Jaz and Tami, close friends of Deb’s, Deb calms down. “Oh yes, I’d be willing to go Wednesday with you and Coleen. How did you get paired with her, I thought you didn’t like her?”

“I hadn’t, I was actually going to raid her room, but she was in there sleeping. She somehow sees me as her project,” he says.

Deb and the other girls giggle in agreement. “Well, if that is the case she has her hands full. Knowing her I think she’ll enjoy it that way. I suspect it will take you a while to figure her out.”

It was now close to eleven and the women of the floor don’t appreciate men being around….

Notta Summer Musical -
Prelude to Summer

By Jessica C

Imal and Jay got a sweet taste of things to come this summer with their visit to “Teri and the ‘Good Girls Salon and Spa’. It so happens even short hair can have a feminine look. No one would mistake Imal for a woman yet, though his hairdo might cause one to wonder. Jay even got his first girl’s outfit. Amber and Toni helped him pick out a long skirt and top. A long skirt was not the first choice of the sorority girls with them, but as they said, “Jalynn does not have the legs for shorter skirts as this time, maybe never.”

Six members of the Sorority, Imal, Jay and Greg, along with Stan Miller, Nick Schmidt, Joel Porter and Brad Stillwell, also from Beta Chi Nu House (BCN House), were at Judge Crothers chambers Tuesday at four to sign the agreement. Judge Crothers’ daughter and her secretary would act as witnesses. Brad was named in the agreement as he was found smiling when the police opened the door to find him sorting the sorority belongings. He acknowledge Robby had requested the jewelry be set aside for him alone.

Judge Crothers was upset that the Independent study had not been registered for with the University. Amber and Coleen, Jay and Imal were to meet the next morning to formalize the study and get it approved by the academic dean in that area. It was the Dean who appointed Dr. Judy Hanes, PhD, Associate Professor in Sociology and Dr. Audetta Stein, PhD, Professor of Feminist Studies as faculty advisors. Audetta was none too pleased and insisted she meet with those four to add detail to the Study: The Diversity of Lifestyles in the 21st Century.

Greg said he was thankful he did not have to be partner to either meetings. He would need to sign it and live under the agreement. He said, “I’ve already had a class on contract law. It might be necessary, but it’s boring.”

He was not outwardly happy at the Good Girls Salon and Spa, Wednesday morning. If he thought beforehand he might have had buzzed-cut his hair. He thought his longer hair and boyish ponytail would be enough, maybe altered a little. Jaci had gone along and made sure some larger curls were permed into his new do.

When he said ‘no’ to using a women’s one piece swimsuit for modest, he had not thought through the alternative of a skimpier two piece. Going nude was not an alternative nor was wearing half of the two piece. Greg insisted he was 5’ 9”. Jaci said, “Maybe with your new hairdo.” She asked, “Did you ever want to be six foot tall?”

Sarcastically he responded, “Dah!”

“Well smarty you will get your chance with heels.” With fragrances subtly filling the spa area and later the smell of the salon, Greg’s senses were inundated with fragrance, color and even the music, magazines, and conversation were all geared for women. What worried Greg was that he was just beginning to enter a prolonged experience of these sensations. ‘Smarty indeed’ he thought.

His eyebrows did not have a few hairs pulled out, instead, they too were waxed and shaped. It was not extreme but more than the other two. “Don’t worry Greg; Whoever amongst Brad, Nick, Joel and Stan have good singing voices will also get the works to a greater degree. Oh, have you selected your girl name yet?”

“No and I don’t want one. I do not plan to get use to this stuff. I will do what I need to fulfill my part of the agreement and study. My character in the musical might have a name but it won’t be mine!”

Jaci says, “You and I can figure out your girl name. I promise you there will be times you’ll want that name. I like when you cooperate and I’m sensitive that you are not comfortable with some of this but you need to drop the attitude. You guys victimized me, us, once. I for one don’t plan for you to do it again with your insolence.”

Greg is sitting in the whirlpool and Jaci is sitting across from him. His face softens as he’s heard what she said. “Okay, once again what names would you consider? It would be better for it not to be the same as anyone in our house.”

Jaci is saying names as she thinks of them and Greg is to pick at least three: Greg, “Shelby, Paige, Marissa, Grace, which of those do you want me to use?”

Jaci laughs back, “I like the names you’ve chosen. I guess I’d lean toward Paige or Grace; Shelby would be cute for you. You need to choose.”

“Paige will be it then.”

Jaci asks, “What’s your mother’s name?”

“Anne but I don’t want to use her name for my name.”

Jaci chirps up, “Her name would be good for your middle name. So it will be Paige Anne Robbins then.”

“Wait why Robbins, Coleen feels like she has her hooks into me already?”

“They’re not hooks; we thought you could be her relative taking a summer class when being at the House.”

The massage was great though embarrassing. They used a special cream as they massaged the dry areas and kneaded away the knots and tense muscles. As Greg was changed and ready leave Teri personally handed Greg a complimentary bag of goodies. It even included his two piece bathing suit. It would be humbling to go to his cost accounting class with his new hair style. He didn’t have time to do anything about it. Jaci convinced him it would be worse if he messed with how he looked. “Plus, you’re seeing Coleen at 4:00.”

Several in the class had heard on campus bits and pieces about the humiliation Greg and some others were being subject too. Surprising to him, he was asked more questions or given friendly advice, instead of the razing and harassment he expected. But as his friend Phil said, “Don’t worry you are going to get hassled mercilessly before this is all over. Many were ready today to give the grief that will come.”

=^..^=

Greg was not in a good mood by 3:50 that afternoon when he appeared over to the sorority. Tami Sue greets him at the door, “I’ll take you up to Coleen’s room even though you already know the way. Please do not be looking into the other rooms as we make our way there. …Man coming up! …Paige is on the floor!”

Greg says, “Do you have to use that name?”

“I thought that is who’s going shopping for an outfit this afternoon. Whatever, others in the house are interested in whether you are going to cooperate or not today.”

“As I said before I’ll be doing enough to do what I agreed too.”

Tami says, “I thought Jaci or Coleen already told you to lose the attitude.” Greg remembered he was going to have Deb from his house come along. He was ready to turn around until he heard Deb’s voice coming from within Coleen’s room.

Greg spoke as he entered the room and saw Deb, “I thought you were going to be with me on my side.”

Deb smiled, “Basically I am, and right now I’m probably the only friend you have in this house. If you would think twice and speak up half as much you might come out of this with some good friends and learn something to boot.”

“What can I learn by wearing a dress and acting like a girl?”

Coleen was going to speak, but Deb spoke first. “Being a coed is not about wearing a dress. You will be wearing them, because that will remind Paige she’s a girl. Most of us women on campus don’t usually wear skirts, but we’ll do more so to show some solidarity with you and the others.”

Coleen says, “I’m not going to stop for explanations most of the time or to massage your hurt feelings. Instead of acting like a spoiled little boy, you should learn to focus on being the young woman, Paige. When you do you’ll find things go easier.”

Coleen shakes her head, “Sorry my intentions today are to be supportive. We are going shopping and my suggestion is that you allow us to make you presentable as Paige. You will then probably be able to shop with less grief from others.”

Greg says, “And you’re thinking you can make me into a passable girl already? I doubt it very much, I think we might as well shop and just get it over with.”

Jaci says, “I’m pretty good with makeup and hair plus I’m a theater major. You already have the makings of a good looking woman. Your bark and tough persona disguises the fluffy kitten you are.”

Greg barks, “Take your best short, apart from covering me with one of those masks there is no cute kitten here.”

Jaci says, “Everyone out except for Deb. Coleen can come back in in about fifteen, twenty minutes… Please use the closet door as a screen to change out of your clothes and put on this bra and panty set if you aren’t already wearing something.” Only the bra disappeared as Greg already had on a panty and pair of pantyhose in anticipation of going shopping. He had even shaved his legs again today.

Jaci and Deb were both amused. Greg said, “I don’t want to hear it, let’s just get on with it.” The bra opened from the front which was helpful as Jaci wanted to attach two breast forms. “Is this really necessary?”

Jaci laughs, “Human kitties have two, it helps them to be soft and cuddly.” Greg grumbles under his breath. Then Jaci says, “That is the last of Greg, I want to hear until you are back from shopping. Deb can work with you to find a nice feminine voice that works for you, while I work on the transformation.”

Deb says, “I want you to say, ‘I’m Paige Robbins and I will be taking a summer class at the university this summer.’”

Greg begins, “I’m Paige Robbins…” Deb interrupts, “Don’t force yourself to go too high. I think I heard Paige but she has a softer voice.”

“I’m Paige Robbins and I will be taking a …a summer class …at the university this …this summer.”

Greg starts to say something. Deb interrupts again. “Unless Paige is practicing saying this you can tell us later.”

Paige is trying to speak, “Did you know Dr. Judy Hanes the Associate Professor in Sociology wants me to take one of her classes this summer?”

Deb says, “Better, but you might want to practice saying the same sentence.”

Greg/Paige isn’t ready to give Deb full cooperation, but he does try to speak as Paige. “What good is it going to be for me to take a sociology class along with doing the independent study?”

“Better, stay in character with Paige. Try to speak a bit softer but maintain a good speaking voice. Wait, we have some songs by Taylor Swift for you to sing to. Use Paige’s voice, don’t try to copy Taylor’s. The Song is Bad Blood”.

“Cause baby now we got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look at what you've done
'Cause baby now we got bad blood”
“Stop! Not bad, are you able to hear yourself singing along. Continue.
[echo Hey!] Now we got problems
And I don't think we can solve them
You made a really deep cut
And baby now we got bad blood…*

(*Check out MetroLyrics, Taylor Swift, Bad Blood)

Deb says, “Stop, let’s go through all you’ve sung again and again.”
We went through it three more times. Each time Paige was improving. All the while Jaci continued to work on Paige. “Ouch! They already shaped my eyebrows enough today.”

Jaci says, “I disagree, you could have been any woman these will be better for Paige. It goes better with the lines of your face.” She continues to taper the front of each brow which had been kind of square and hard.

Paige doesn’t know much about girls and their eyes any more than what Greg likes. She is not ready to say so, but yes Jaci has them looking better for Paige.

Deb starts the song over, taking Greg’s attention from what Jaci is doing. This time Greg hears another woman in the room and looks around for her. Deb lightly laughs, “The person you’re looking for is in the mirror. Greg looks only to see himself, yet it isn’t quite. His image is softening, becoming more of a woman. Jaci hands him a printed skirt, a cami to go over the bra and a blouse to go over the cami. The transformation is taking serious shape as Coleen comes back into her room.

“Wow is Greg impressed with how Paige is looking yet?” Coleen gets in front of Paige waiting for an answer. Greg forgets himself and speaks in Paige’s voice, “It isn’t that dramatic.”

Coleen laughs upon hearing the nice change in voice and says, “I guess you haven’t looked in the mirror yet.”

Jaci answers, “Not since she put on her skirt, top and blouse. She doesn’t know yet.” Since Greg/Paige had sat back down in her skirt and tops; Jaci had smoothed out a foundation and was applying some makeup. “Please let me get the face done before we have her looking in any mirrors.”

Deb and Coleen were in agreement and Greg was noticeably worried now. Coleen had taken to doing Greg’s nails. Jaci had placed out a nail polish that would go with the lipstick to be use. She did not do a major shaping of the nails but the nail polish noticeably transforming the appearance of Greg’s hands. He knew if the rest of the change was this good, Jaci was living up to her boast in making Greg look like Paige.

Jaci had worked on Paige’s eyes before and now she was back with the mascara wand doing the eyelashes. She stepped back. I think we are ready, let me brush out her hair and let her see the results.

=^..^=

Quickly it’s back to Greg speaking, “Yuck! You have me looking like a woman.”

Deb insists, “You’re dressed as Paige we want to hear her voice.”

Greg says, “No way, I can’t go like this.”

Deb insists again as Coleen and Jaci move to block the door, “Paige’s voice, we’re not speaking to you until you settle down and speaking as Paige.”

Greg swears, “No way, I’ll wait until hell freezes.”

Deb, “That would be a long wait and it will be dressed as Paige.” Deb’s hand catches Greg’s hands ready to undo a button. “You know better than to slap or move my hand away. You asked me to be here.”

“But you’re supposed to be my friend?” Greg dared to look Deb in the eye and that was his undoing.

She says, “You know I’m your friend that’s the only reason I’m here. I don’t want you throwing away your education. You know that wouldn’t be good. You came to college to grow up and be your own person.”

Greg laughs, “I can’t afford to lose college, but growing as my own person didn’t mean as Paige.”

Deb takes her hand away from Greg’s, “Paige’s voice please, it doesn’t mean you’re becoming her. You only said you’d do what you needed to keep your word.”

Greg’s eyes tear as Paige’s voice returns, “Please don’t make me go out there dressed as a woman.”

“No one will force you, it will need to be your choice. We need you to pick up that purse; it’s yours for now. It would only be harder later, so please Paige let’s get going.”

Greg/Paige was not beautiful in any great measure, but it would be a young woman and not a guy in a skirt looking for new clothes. They did show a little mercy in allowing Paige to go shopping in a pair of flats.

“Walk back and forth, we need to help Paige get her own stride and walking pattern,” said Coleen. Greg closed his eyes a moment to help him as Paige to respond to Coleen’s request. Paige straightened up, shook her arms gently as to relax. It took a while for Paige’s steps to become shorter, narrower and softer. The room door finally opened as Coleen called out “Paige is on the floor.” Well over a dozen of the sorority members took notice of Paige walking from the room to the waiting vehicle. There she was instructed how to enter and exit the vehicle in a ladylike fashion.

=^..^=

They drove to a nearby mall, where surprisingly to Greg, no one gawked or remarked about the guy in drag. The others did remind Paige to shorten her steps, to walk slower and try not to take broad steps. Paige cringed as she walked into Forever 21. He did recognize Abby as the salesperson walking up to them. Abby was a sorority member and evening sales manager at this store.

“Welcome Paige, we’re here to discretely serve you. Do you have anything in mind about what you’re looking for?” Abby as a tall, trim woman looked professional in her demeanor and fostered respect.

Paige spoke, “I’m not sure whether it should be a skirt and top or a dress. Though I don’t want to get even one, I should probably get two so I don’t have to come back.”

Abby said, “That makes sense to me, though I suspect you are going to need at least three or four by the time summer ends. Why don’t we start with a skirt? And though you say you don’t want even one, let me suggest you find something sharp and nice, appropriate for Paige. You’ll do better if you don’t make for a long summer for yourself.”

Let me show you three skirts: this one we call a full skirt as it flares out, this one is a pencil skirt with a straight line from hips to hem, and this one here is a knit skirt it will kind of hug and move with you. I would not be surprised by the end of the summer that each is part of your wardrobe.”

Greg was a little offended but looking at Abby he realized it was not said that way. “I think I would like to look around at the fuller skirts.” Looking Paige is realizing more of the skirts tend to be shorter for the summer.

Aby asks, “Would you mind if I took some measurements to determine the sizes you should be looking at?” She took the measurements, “You should be comfortable in a size ten skirt and medium to large blouse. I would suggest you get size 6 panties and a thirty-four bra and at this point you can determine the cup size.”

Deb stepped up and whispered, “I am willing to help you with the bra and panties. It would be good that you took the initiative to select those without creating a fuss.” Paige whispered back, “I’m willing but do you think you and I can have a half hour without Coleen and Jaci?”

Paige began looking at skirts and Coleen and Jaci went off with Abby. Paige had pulled out and set aside two skirts. She was holding another a red faded skirt and was going through where it had been hanging. “Deb, I wouldn’t mind a skirt like this but I can’t find it in blue or green.”

Deb looks, they’re in white, red, yellow, black and tan, but no tan skirts in size 10. “It is a nice skirt and I’d suggest either the red or yellow.”

Paige asks, “So what should I do just buy one, what if it doesn’t fit?”

Deb smiles, “You are just another woman here; you can take up to three in the changing room. I suggest you come out and let me see any skirt on you that you’re serious about buying.” Deb is holding a panty and matching bra for Paige to take with her. “If these fit keep them on and bring out the tags.”

Paige asks, “What does it mean a bralette?” Greg shyly makes his way to a changing room, sure that someone is going to stop him. Fortunately or unfortunately, however you look at it, Paige is in changing out of what she wore. She puts on what is called varsity boyshorts, and then the red skirt. Nothing will look good to Greg, but it is nice how it fits at the waist, hugs lightly around her bottom and widens out to a full skirt. Without thought walks out to see Deb. Coleen is standing some ten feet away.

Deb says, “I was guessing you would try that one first. It looks very nice on you, even if you don’t want to hear that. Can I suggest you try this yellow button down blouse or this print top?” She steps closer, “Will the boyshorts work for you?”
Paige reaches for the two blouses. Deb looks to Abby to see if it would be alright to have the extra pieces of clothing into the changing room. She lets go as Abby indicates it is acceptable. The abstract print is the first top for Paige to try. It fits nicely, but Paige would like to look for another print. The yellow blouse fits nicely but it opens to the front and Paige is conscious of someone seeing in the gaps. She goes out and finds print more to her liking. It too would go with the red skirt. One outfit selected. Paige indicates to Deb that she will try on the skirt with the floral print. Soon Deb handed a blue peasant blouse over the door.

Paige soon had on the skirt which was pretty and called out to Deb, “How do I know which is the front of this blouse?”

Deb replied, “The white lace bow goes to the front. I want to see you in both the blouse and the skirt.”

Paige tempers her voice but firmly says, “I’m not wearing a lace ribbon and bow.” When Deb did not respond, Paige was sure she should wear the blouse to at least show the skirt.

Paige walked out and modeled the skirt, even turning around as requested. “So Paige are you going to tell me that outfit is not attractive? I am willing to get you a nice white satin blouse for dress up, but this is a very nice combination.”

“It isn’t the combination, the blouse and skirt work well together. It’s just I am not wanting to wear lace. It is…”

Deb butts in, “Settled then, you’re not wanting to wear a skirt but you’re doing that too. Put back on the first outfit, hand me the price tags and let’s get going.”

That outfit is best to Paige’s liking so she changes back into it. Greg, however is fit to be tied and wants to holler at someone but alas that would out him as a guy wearing a skirt. He suffers is silence. They pay their bill; not tried on but purchased are a second bra and panty set and two pairs of stockings, not pantyhose.

They are soon at Baker’s Shoes, where Paige tries and agrees to purchase a strapped wedge sandal. Its sole is more than an inch thick and the heel adds another two inches. Paige finds walking in it causes her to take the smaller steps that the three women have been insisting on. Jaci stays after Paige until she buys her own pair of flats and a three inch pair of heels for dress up. The day is nice so when Deb encourages Paige from wearing a pair home. She goes with the strap sandal.

Greg having been shorter than most guys all his life may have picked the sandals with that in his thoughts. Near the check-out is a woman’s wallet and purse on sale that catches Paige’s attention. She asks Deb, “Is that a good sale price?”

It is a decent price but with three pairs of shoes being purchased, Deb steps forward asking the manager. This tomboy is new to shopping, what will you do for her, if she purchases the purse, wallet and three pairs of shoes?”

The manager was a little smug, “She has already selected the shoes and the purse and wallet are on sale.”

Deb smiles, “Paige stop your purchase until they decide to treat you better.” Deb turns to the manager, “Sir, if I came to this store to buy a pair of shoes and decided I might buy three pairs of shoes, even before the purse and wallet, I’d be asking what you can do for me. Now, I’ll ask once more what are you willing to do, so that she purchases all this here? Hopefully your saleswoman April can vouch I’ve bought shoes here and hopefully that women at their sorority has bought many nice shoes here.

Paige looks to the others who are smiling. She waits and the manager says, “I would offer you a ten percent discount, but I’m not sure that would satisfy you and we might end up dickering. Instead I’ll offer once take it or leave it a twelve percent discount on all those items. If any of you women would be interested in purchasing any shoes right now I’d include them as well.”

Jaci quickly turns to April, points to a fancy wedged sandal and asks “Do you have this shoe in a size six?” Deb resists at first, but buys a regular pair of sandals already on sale.

The activity of women purchasing shoes did not go unnoticed as more shoppers were coming into the store.

Coleen stepped up to Paige, “You are now getting your purchase at a very nice price.” Coleen saw that Paige had used most of her cash at the other store. “If it would be more comfortable for you not to use Greg’s plastic, I would be willing to pay for your purchase if you would pay me back within a day.”

Paige had reached for her credit card not thinking of that. “I would appreciate that very much, thank you.” Even with the discount the cost was the better of part of two hundred dollars.

Coleen’s vehicle with four women and their purchases is quite full. Paige relaxes as she gets in. “I hope we are finished shopping and can go back to the Row.”

=^..^=

Jaci comments, “We are finished shopping but what you have done is worth celebrating. I am sure everyone is hungry and the houses have quit serving supper.” Coleen’s vehicle turned in a direction away from our houses.

When we pulled up to a place called the Garden Pub and Tea Room, Paige giggled, “A pub and tea room together what a crazy idea. Why haven’t I ever heard of it?”

“Because it wasn’t seeking to draw the likes of Greg. If you look next door there is a woman’s fitness center. There’s a women and children’s wellness clinic nearby.” We go in and there is the capability to order a full meal, tables near a bar, mounted TV’s but the venue is different from most places. Off to the far end Jaci points out the tea room. We find a cozy table off from others, but we’re seen by our waitress. Luckily Jaci sat first reminding Paige how to sit properly.

Once the waitress leaves with the orders, Coleen asks, “So Greg how do you like your life as Paige?”

“You know very well how I feel about it,” Greg’s voice bellows from Paige’s mouth. People look around for who was speaking. Greg is embarrassed and doesn’t dare to say more. Out of nervousness Paige takes a big gulp of water and gets back into her personality. The remainder of their small supper, longer visit culminates with Paige needing to use a restroom.

Deb figures it out and announces, “Paige and I need to use the ladies’ room to freshen up before we return to Beta Chi Nu House. Three steps from the table Paige is embarrassed to see Coleen and Jaci getting up to come with them.

Paige isn’t sure the correct procedure but once in the toilet stall she turns, lifts up her skirt and then seeks to bring down her panty and pantyhose. She struggles to sit down while making sure her skirt is not in the way. The opposite is even harder as she needs to make sure she is tucked away properly. Paige as Greg always thought women took too long but two women have come and gone using the stall next to her. By the times she is certain the back of her skirt is free and she is together, she finally leaves her stall to the applause of Jaci, Deb and Coleen.

They delight in watching Paige clean up and freshen her makeup with them pointing out each blemish, hair out of place and the lipstick that needs touching up. She does appreciate their praise when she is done.

She is again frustrated when Coleen ignores her plea to be let out at the BCN House. Coleen asks, “Do you really want to go there without Greg’s change of clothes and carrying all your new clothes?”

“They are going to see me sooner or later anyhow.” But alas they are at the sorority house and everything is unloaded at the front door. Several sorority sisters help to carry it into the front room. By the time Coleen has parked the car and is back in, some twenty sisters have gathered. Paige is unaware of the women’s tradition of showing off their new clothes. This would usually be up in the room of whoever did the most shopping, but Paige doesn’t have a room there. She will not get away until she shows her other outfit and her shoes.

While the many women fuss over this and that, Paige is fading away from the two glasses of wine and the long day she has put in. It is barely 11:00 when they bring her feet up on the sofa and place a blanket over her to keep her warm. The House Mother tells Coleen, “She can stay here until 1:00 a.m. and then she should be rested enough to be escorted back to her house. …And I don’t want her losing her virginity here.”

Notta Summer Musical -2
Prelude to Summer

By Jessica C

Imal and Jay got a sweet taste of things to come this summer with their visit to “Teri and the ‘Good Girls Salon and Spa’. It so happens even short hair can have a feminine look. No one would mistake Imal for a woman yet, though his hairdo now causes one to wonder. Jay got his first girl’s outfit. Amber and Toni helped him pick out a long skirt and top. A long skirt was not the first choice of the sorority girls with them, but as they said, “Jalynn does not have the legs for shorter skirts at this time.”

Six members of the Sorority, Imal, Jay and Greg, along with Stan Miller, Nick Schmidt, Joel Porter and Brad Stillwell, also from Beta Chi Nu House (BCN House), are at Judge Crothers chambers Tuesday at four to sign the agreement. Judge Crothers’ daughter and her secretary would act as witnesses. Brad is named in the agreement as he was found smiling when the police opened the door to find him sorting the sorority belongings. He acknowledges Robby had requested the jewelry be set aside for him alone.

Judge Crothers is upset that the independent study has not been registered for with the University. Amber and Coleen, Jay and Imal are to meet the next morning to formalize the study and get it approved by the academic dean. That is if the Dean would appoint Dr. Judy Hanes, PhD, Associate Professor in Sociology and Dr. Audetta Stein, PhD, Professor of Feminist Studies as faculty advisors. Audetta is none too pleased and insists she meet with the four to add detail to the Study: The Diversity of Lifestyles in the 21st Century.

Greg says he’s thankful that he does not have to be partner to either meeting. “I will need to sign it and live under the agreement.” He says, “I’ve already had a class on contract law. It might be necessary, but it’s boring.”

He is not outwardly happy at the Good Girls Salon and Spa, Wednesday morning. If he thought beforehand he might have buzzed-cut his hair. He thought his longer hair and boyish ponytail would be enough, maybe altered a little. Jaci has gone along and made sure some larger curls are permed into his new do.

When he says ‘no’ to using a women’s one piece swimsuit for modest, he had not thought through the alternative of a skimpier two piece. Going nude is not an alternative nor is wearing half of the two piece. Greg insists he is 5’ 9”. Jaci says, “Maybe with your new hairdo.” She asks, “Did you ever want to be six foot tall?”

Sarcastically he responds, “Dah!”

“Well smarty you will get your chance with heels.” With fragrances subtly filling the spa area and later the smell of the salon engulfing her. Greg’s senses are inundated with fragrance, color and even the music, magazines, and conversation are all geared for women. What worries Greg most he is just beginning to enter a prolonged experience of these sensations. ‘Smart indeed’ he thought.

His eyebrows did not have a few hairs pulled out, instead, they too are waxed and shaped. It is not extreme but more than the other two guys. “Don’t worry Greg; Whoever amongst Brad, Nick, Joel and Stan have good singing voices will also get the works to a greater degree like you.

I promise you, there will be times you’ll want that name. I like when you cooperate. I’m sensitive that you are not comfortable with some of this but you need to drop the attitude. You guys victimized me, us, once too often. I for one don’t plan for you to do it again nor to deal with your insolence.”

Greg is sitting in the whirlpool and Jaci is sitting across from him. His face softens as he hears what she has said. “Okay, once again what names would you consider? It would be good if it’s not the same as anyone in our house.”

Jaci begins is saying names as she thinks of them and Greg is to pick at least three: Greg, “Shelby, Paige, Marissa, Grace, which of those do you want me to use?”

“Wait, why Robbins, Colleen feels like she already has her hooks into me?”

“They’re not hooks; we thought you could be her relative taking a summer class when being at the House.”

The massage is great though embarrassing. They used a special cream as they massage the dry areas and knead away the knots and tense muscles Paige has. As Greg changes and readies leave, Teri personally handed Greg a complimentary bag of goodies. It even includes a two piece bathing suit. It will be humbling to go to his cost accounting class with his new hair style. Unfortunately he didn’t have time to do anything about it. Jaci convinces him it would be worse if he messed with how he looks. “Plus, you’re seeing Coleen at 4:00.”

Several in the class had heard on campus bits and pieces about the humiliation Greg and some others are being subject too. Surprising to him, he is asked more questions or given friendly advice, instead of the razing and harassment he expected. But as his friend Phil says, “Don’t worry you are going to get hassled mercilessly before this is all over. Many weren’t ready today to give the grief that will come.”

=^..^=

Greg is not in a good mood 3:50 that afternoon when he appears over to the sorority. Tami Sue greets him at the door, “I’ll take you up to Coleen’s room even though you already know the way. Please do not be looking into the other rooms as we make our way there. …Man coming up! …Paige is on the floor!”

Greg says, “Do you have to use that name?”

“Isn’t that is who’s going shopping for an outfit this afternoon? Others in the house are interested in whether you are going to cooperate or not today.”

“As I said before I’ll be doing enough to do what I agreed too.”

Tami says, “I thought Jaci or Coleen already told you to lose the attitude.” Greg remembers at this point he was going to have Deb from his house come along. He’s ready to turn around until he hears Deb’s voice coming from Coleen’s room.

Greg spoke as he enters the room and sees Deb, “I thought you were going to be with me on my side.”

Deb smiled, “Basically I am, and right now I’m probably the only friend you have in this house. If you would think twice and speak up half as much you might come out of this with some good friends and learn something to boot.”

“What can I learn by wearing a dress and acting like a girl?”

Coleen is going to speak, but Deb spoke first. “Being a coed is not about wearing a dress. You will be wearing them, because that will remind Paige she’s a girl. Most of us women on campus don’t usually wear skirts, but we’ll do that more to show some solidarity with you and the others.”

You will be able to shop with less grief from others, if you do so.”

Greg says, “And you’re thinking you can make me into a passable girl already? I doubt it very much, I think we might as well shop and just get it over with.”

Jaci says, “I’m pretty good with makeup and hair as a theater major. You already have the makings of a good looking woman. Your bark and tough persona disguises the fluffy kitten you are.”

Greg barks, “Take your best short, apart from covering me with one of those masks there is no cute kitten here.”

Jaci says, “Everyone out except for Deb. Coleen can come back in in about fifteen, twenty minutes… Please use the closet door as a screen to change out of your clothes and put on this bra and panty set if you aren’t already wearing something already.” Only the bra disappears as Greg already has on a panty and pair of pantyhose in anticipation of going shopping. He has even shaved his legs again today.

Jaci and Deb are both amused. Greg says, “I don’t want to hear it, let’s just get on with it.” The bra opened from the front which is helpful as Jaci wants to attach two breast forms. He moans, “Is this really necessary?”

Jaci laughs, “Human kitties have two; it helps them to be soft and cuddly.” Greg grumbles under his breath. Then Jaci says, “That is the last of Greg, I want to hear until you are back from shopping. Deb can work with you to find a nice feminine voice that works for you, while I work on the outward transformations.”

Deb says, “Stop, let’s go through all you’ve sung again and again.”
We went through it three more times. Each time Paige is improving. All the while Jaci continues to work on Paige. “Ouch! They already shaped my eyebrows enough today.”

Jaci says, “I disagree, you could have been any woman these will be better for Paige. It goes better with the shape of your face.” She continues to taper the front of each brow which had been kind of square and hard.

Greg looks only to see himself, yet it isn’t quite him.

Deb and Coleen are in agreement and Greg is noticeably worried now. Coleen has taken to doing Greg’s nails. Jaci has placed out a nail polish that will go well with the lipstick to be use. She did not do a major shaping of the nails but the nail polish noticeably transforming the appearance of Greg’s hands. He knew if the rest of the changes are this good, Jaci is living up to her boast in making Greg look like Paige.

Jaci had worked on Paige’s eyes before and now she’s back with the mascara wand doing the eyelashes. She steps back. “I think we are ready, let me brush out her hair and let her see the results.”

=^..^=

Quickly it’s back to Greg speaking, “Yuck! You have me looking like a woman.”

Deb insists, “You’re dressed as Paige, we want to hear her voice.”

You already said you’d do what you need to keep your word.”

Greg’s eyes tear as Paige’s voice returns, “Please don’t make me go out there dressed as a woman.”

“No one will force you, it will need to be your choice. We need you to pick up that purse; it’s yours for now. It will only be harder later, so please Paige let’s get going.”

Greg/Paige is not beautiful in any great measure, but she will be a young woman and not a guy in a skirt looking for new clothes. They do show a little mercy in allowing Paige to go shopping in a pair of flats.

“Walk back and forth, we need to help Paige get her own stride and walking pattern,” said Coleen. Greg closes his eyes a moment to help him as Paige to respond to Coleen’s request. Paige straightens up, shakes her arms gently as to relax. It takes a while for Paige’s steps to become shorter, narrower and softer. The room door finally opens as Coleen calls out “Paige is on the floor.” Well over a dozen of the sorority members take notice of Paige walking from the room to the waiting vehicle. There she is instructed how to enter and exit the vehicle in a ladylike fashion.

They drive to a nearby mall, where surprisingly to Greg, no one gawks or remarks about the guy in drag. They do remind Paige to shorten her steps, to walk slower and try not to take broad steps. Paige cringes as she walks into Forever 21. He did recognize Abby as the salesperson walking up to them. Abby is a sorority member and evening sales manager at this store.

“Welcome Paige, we’re here to discretely serve you. Do you have anything in mind about what you’re looking for?” Abby as a tall, trim woman looking professional in her demeanor that fosters respect.

Paige spoke, “I’m not sure whether it should be a skirt and top or a dress. Though I don’t want to get either one. I should probably get two so I don’t have to come back.”

Abby said, “That makes sense to me, though I suspect you are going to need at least three or four before the time summer ends. Why don’t we start with a skirt? And though you say you don’t want even one, let me suggest you find something sharp and nice, appropriate for Paige. You’ll do better if you don’t make it a long summer for yourself.”

Let me show you three skirts: this one we call a full skirt as it flares out, this one is a pencil skirt with a straight line from hips to hem, and this one here is a knit skirt it will kind of hug and move with you. I would not be surprised by the end of the summer that each is part of your wardrobe.”

Greg is a little offended but looking at Abby he realizes it was not said that way.

Deb steps up and whispers, “I am willing to help you with the bra and panties. It would be good that you take the initiative to select those without creating a fuss.” Paige whispers back, “I’m willing but do you think you and I can have a half hour without Coleen and Jaci?”

Paige begins looking at skirts as Coleen and Jaci walk off with Abby. Paige has pulled out and set aside two skirts. She is holding another a red faded skirt and is going through where it had been hanging.

“If these fit keep them on and bring out the price tags.”

Without thought he walks out to see Deb.

Deb looks to Abby to see if it will be alright to have the extra pieces of clothing into the changing room. She lets her go in as Abby indicates it is acceptable. The abstract print is the first top for Paige to try. It fits nicely, but Paige asks to look for another print. The yellow blouse fits nicely but it opens to the front and Paige is conscious of someone seeing in the gaps. She goes out and finds a print blouse more to her liking. It too will go with the red skirt. One outfit selected. Paige indicates to Deb that she will try on the skirt with the floral print. Soon Deb hands her a blue peasant blouse over the door.

Paige soon has on the skirt which is pretty and calls out to Deb, “How do I know which is the front of this blouse?”

Deb replied, “The white lace bow goes to the front. I want to see you in both the blouse and the skirt.”

Paige tempers her voice but firmly says, “I’m not wearing a lace ribbon and bow.” When Deb did not respond, Paige is sure she should wear the blouse to at least show the skirt.

Paige walks out and models the skirt, even turning around as requested.

He suffers in silence. They pay their bill. He did not try on but purchased a second bra and panty set and two pairs of stockings, not pantyhose.

They are soon at Baker’s Shoes, where Paige tires and agrees to purchase a strapped wedge sandal. Its sole is more than an inch thick and the heel adds another two inches. Paige finds walking in it causes her to take the smaller steps that the three women have been insisting on. Jaci stays after Paige until she buys her own pair of flats and a three inch pair of heels for dress up. The day is nice so when Deb encourages Paige to wear a pair home.

“This tomboy is new to shopping, what will you do for her, if she purchases the purse, wallet and three pairs of shoes?”

The manager acts a little smug, “She has already selected the shoes and the purse and wallet are on sale.”

Hopefully your saleswoman April can vouch I’ve bought shoes here as well as the women at their sorority have bought many nice shoes here.

Paige looks to the others who are smiling. She waits and the manager says, “I would offer you a ten percent discount, but I’m not sure that will satisfy you and we might end up dickering.

The activity of women purchasing shoes does not go unnoticed as more shoppers are coming into the store.

Coleen steps up to Paige, “You are now getting your purchase at a very nice price.” Coleen sees that Paige had used most of her cash at the other store. “If it would be more comfortable for you not to use Greg’s plastic, I would be willing to pay for your purchase if you will pay me back within a day.”

Paige had reached for her credit card not thinking of that. “I would appreciate that very much, thank you.” Even with the discount the cost is sizeable.

Coleen’s vehicle with four women and their purchases is quite full. Paige relaxes as she gets in. “I hope we are finished shopping and can go back to the Row.”

=^..^=

Jaci comments, “We are finished shopping but what you have done is worth celebrating. I am sure everyone is hungry and the houses have quit serving supper.” Coleen’s vehicle turns in a direction away from our houses.

When we pull up to a place called the Garden Pub and Tea Room, Paige giggles, “A pub and tea room together what a crazy idea.

People look around for who is speaking. Greg is embarrassed and doesn’t dare to say more. Out of nervousness Paige takes a big gulp of water and gets back into her personality. The remainder of their small supper and longer visit culminates with Paige needing to use a restroom.

The reverse is even harder as she needs to make sure she is tucked away properly.

While the many women fuss over this and that, Paige is fading away from two glasses of wine and the long day she has put in.

To be continued…
