Contest Rules: This year's Valentine's Day Contest has been themed "Beholden of the Heart." This idea was chosen to be the theme as love sometimes knows no bounds. The object of beauty and of love is in the eye of the beholder or in the heart of the beholden.
I am looking for a story that has at least a tglib character (Trans, Gay, Lesbian, Intersexed, and Bi) within it that is involved with anyone else that their heart is set upon (someone who would normally not give them a second glance or consider themself any closer to the main character than just casual friends or barely noticed). I am interested in the development of how that character makes the approach to their love leading towards Valentine's day. The approach can take a lot of time or a little. A catalyst such as saving them, or repeatedly approaching them or helping them in a time of need can be used.
The stories must be all brand new, never posted, published anywhere else before and may be parts / chapters of an ongoing serial.
The story can be any size.
The stories must be tagged with the contest link of February 2014 Beholden of the Heart Story Contest tag in the drop down contest box of the ++Fiction Page you submit your entry on.

Well the time has come to announce our winners. We have been through many hardships these past couple of months with our server melting down and so many other connection issues that have affected and are affecting this contest, it's a miracle that we are still here. So without further ado, here come the winners of the February 2014 Beholden of the Heart Story Contest.

“That brings up another issue,” Brenda continued. “Kathan, you are well into puberty as a boy. It will be difficult to reverse so I’m afraid you won’t make a convincing girl.”
“That’s why I need to get on testosterone blockers ASAP,” Kathan vehemently declared. “I know I can’t just start being a girl but I can stop being a boy. I’ll go androgynous for now.”
“Androgynous...” Brenda stated the word slowly. “So how do you think your classmates will respond to that?”
“I don’t care how they respond,” Kathan affirmed. “They don’t like us now. They already assume we’re gay. My being androgynous will not significantly change their perceptions. Look, I’m not stupid. I’m not going to suddenly go all girly. All I’m going to do for now is to completely stop pretending to be a boy. I’ll be like a die-hard tomboy... a girl dressed in boy’s clothes. I’d like to see a doctor to get the blockers but I doubt if there is any doctor nearby who would cooperate. Somehow, I need to get blockers.”

He's uncertain enough about the whole thing, but when a fire at school triggers his own H Chromosomes to activate how can he possibly tell her when his own changes give him even more cause for doubt?
