This year's Summer Romance Contest is going to be a little different from our past 2 years. I would like to narrow the theme down some. In this year's contest the theme will focus on the development of love between two people, one of which is either intersexed, transgender, transvestite, lesbian, gay or bi. The environment of the story should revolve around either school, work, or some sort of trip. The era should be between 1900 - 2025 (^^ Keeping things within the 20th - 21st Century). This Contest will last a total of eleven weeks for submissions (Absolutely no rescheduling of the deadline for any reason - winners need to be announced and Sephrena will be mailing the awards out to the designated winners). The voting will occur over a 7 day period by registered site users only and only 1 vote per user. The 3 top stories will be awarded a prize designated as follows: 1st place - $80, 2nd place - $60, 3rd place - $50. The winners will need to pm Sephrena with their mailing address to mail them their money. All prizes will be mailed the day after the winners announcement.
Rules for the contest are as follows:
Must be fiction.
Can be a short story, a poem, a novel, a piece of any length. To enable fairness to everyone, No chapters of ongoing serials will be allowed. This is to level the playing field for all author entries and for the readers to decide.

...I knew what had happened. As one of the cops approached me and started to speak to me, I heard not a single word. I merely saw his mouth move as tears began to fall from my eyes.
I remember little else from that evening other than finding myself in my old room, now occupied by Corie, and Kate alongside me in the bed. Owen and Meg were gone. We would never be able to speak, or touch, or laugh, or cry with them again. My life, and Kate’s, as we knew it, had come to a most bitter end.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter for participating. In every sense of the word, everyone who entered this contest is a winner!!! I wish I had the funding to pay everyone who took the time and entered, but... I simply don't have those kind of resources. I would also like to thank the people who took the time to vote and who read the stories. That is what BigCloset TopShelf is all about! Writing, Reading, Commenting, and Participating.
