Danny Sweet finished his quick shower and dried himself off, spending extra time on his thick long hair, well long for a boy anyway. He was feeling much better except for his odd vision problem with mirrors. Danny read a lot and was particularly fond of fantasy and science fiction.
“Every time I open my eyes all I see is a blinding light from the mirrors but when I close them I see fine. Am I on the other side of the looking glass; curious and curiouser?”
Danny dismissed this thought at once, the Lewis Carol “Alice” stories were make-believe and pure fantasy; it wasn’t possible but still? No, she must have drugged him with the glittery powder that fell from that box. They were always warning him at school about the dangers of drugs, especially those ones kids got at those rave parties, ah… like ex-stacy and angle dust or was it angel dust? Danny was not a good speller.
He put on the frilly baby doll sleep set his sister left out for him and lay on her bed. He was safe in here, she loved him; his older sister would never hurt him. Odd but he couldn’t remember her name, um… Penny? No Penny was the girl in the diary. No Penny was his sister. Huh? How could she be both?
He remembered his sci-fi; maybe one of those alternate dimensions had interacted with his own. In one universe Penny was his older sister and in another Penny was this girl who hid her diary under his sister’s mattress but why? But if Penny wasn’t his sister… but she was but then… but that meant that…, Danny gave up, multiple co-existing universes gave him a headache.
“I’ll have an aspirin or two and a glass of water, that’ll fix me up.”
He looked around and spotted a large bottle of aspirin on his sister’s makeup table. He opened the child-resistant cap with ease and instead of pills found an odd looking key and a tightly rolled up note addressed to him.
“Took you long enough, don’t worry, your big sis knows best. Now put on the locket then give me a call before you put the key in my closet door. What ever you do, call first. Don’t open my closet door until you call, Danny or it… well you won’t like it Danny, you won’t like it a bit.”
Like any proper younger brother he immediately opened the closet door using that odd key. “Younger brothers never listen to their older sisters, its like evolution or sumptn’,” Danny thought to himself. He stepped into the closet and immediately felt dizzy and achy. The closet was immense, bigger than this entire floor of the house. A second wave of dizziness and aches hit him; he lurched to the control consol in the middle of the humming room, his delicate hands brushing against and moving several levers and dials as he caught himself. Lights and displays came on at various places on the consol panels. Danny felt his generous breasts jiggle under his sexy baby doll sleep set from the effort.
“Breasts! Boys don’t have breasts!” A bad thought occurred to him, he felt around and down past the end of his waist long auburn hair then carefully swept his sensitive fingers around clockwise past his firm, curvy butt and around to the soft mound between his… “Ghod, I’m a GIRL!” In his panic he bumped another lever.
“Of course you’re are Danni P. Sweet or is it Penny D. Sweet this week, I never know what you’ll want to be called next, Humans!” said the man in the strange patchwork coat with a question mark sewn on the breast pocket.
“Penny? My sister is Penny, no she’s not and I am not a girl! She said banging her pretty fist on the consol.
“Don’t do that!” the man said as the door to the closet closed and a device in the center of the consol began rising and falling. The closet slowly faded from view, the last thing that disappeared was the flashing blue light on top.
Just Who’s Closet is it Anyway? Part 2 — The Twin Dilemma
The strange closet machine continued it’s humming, the device in the center of the control consol rising and falling hypnotically. Danny reviewed his predicament calmly and out loud.
“One: I was a boy whose older sister just left for college. Two: my name is and isn’t Danny its Danni and if the man in the odd coat is correct, my sister isn’t Penny; I am Penny, at least some of the time. Three and this is important: I’m a freakn’ girl, no doubt about It.” he said touching him/her self to make sure. He/she found an antique floor standing mirror and had a look at him/herself, turning from side to side to get different views.
“I’m definitely a girl and from the way my baby dolls hang, I’m built.” he/she smiled as he now she looked at her cute face and long curly auburn hair, delicate ears and gorgeous, intensely blue eyes. She was amazed; she was much taller, from her pretty face down past her long, slender neck, high ample chest, tiny waist, curvy hips, round firm bottom and long dancer’s legs. “Oh my, I’m a fox! No I’m a boy, how can I be a cute chick?” he said louder.
“Danni, you’re usually not obsessed with your looks and what’s all this about being animals?”
“This is what’s wrong!” Danni said lifting her firm, ample breasts while pouting ever so sexily, she thought. “Why did I just think that?” Danni thought. Danni felt queasy, “Must be the effects of that drugged mirror dust I inhaled.” she reasoned.
“Danni, you’ve traveled with me for over a year now elapsed Earth time and I’ve never heard you doubt yourself. As humans go, you’re remarkably clear headed, bright and open minded, you remind me of my late wife at a similar age.”
“But Mr. Sir, I’m a boy and I remember Penny as my sister and my sister as not Penny; I’m so confused.”
“Call me Doctor, Danni, you always do.”
“But I don’t remember you, I’m only fourteen but I’m sixteen, no I’m not. Oh lets split the difference and assume I’m fifteen, Mr. Doctor Sir.”
“Danni, you were seventeen when I rescued you; you’re eighteen now and very mature for your age mentally and physically. Can you look at yourself and honestly say you’re a fifteen year old boy?” Danni looked in the mirror again and ran her hands along her attractive frame.
“You’re right; I look as old as my sister. I could be her twin, her prettier twin but I know I’m a boy.” she smiled at the thought she was better looking than her twin; twin?
“Ok, you tell me what happened today.” the Doctor said. Danni described everything including the mirrored dust falling all over her, her inhaling some and the intense light she saw coming out of mirrors afterward. “Wait right here, Danni; don’t move.”
Unlike most companions Danni knew to do what the Doctor said. “Why do I know to trust him, I never met him before today or did I?” Danni wondered. Danni felt silly standing there half naked it that skimpy baby doll. She felt oddly unwell but was fascinated by her body. “Man, am I hot.” she said looking again in the big mirror. “I think I must be a girl, I sure am a babe, so why do I remember being a boy?”
Danni definitely felt ill, sick to her stomach. “I’d better ask this ‘Doctor’ about that too.” she thought. The strangely dressed Doctor came back and waved an unfamiliar meter/scanner thing along Danni’s body. The Doctor muttered something like, “Praise Rassilon she’d unharmed,” as the meter/scanner passed Danni’s lower abdomen.
“Danni, you’re the victim of a trap intended for me. Those mirrored particles were an anti-chronotonic compound mixed with a genetic destabilizer. When you stepped in the TARDIS — that’s the machine that looked like a closet to you — the transcendental field that separates the outside universe from the inside pocket universe activated the compounds causing the boy mind and body of your timeline to merge with the young woman mind and body of your alternate timeline. That’s why you’re suddenly as old as your sister, in this timeline you’re fraternal twins, while in your timeline you’re her younger brother. The genetic destabilizer was meant specifically for me, a Galifrian; if I’d triggered the trap I’d be a female toddler now, unable to reach the TARDIS controls and barely able to retain much of my memories or speak. Because you’re mostly human, it fused your male and female bodies into one. I’m sorry; the resulting mismatch of genetic materials resolved itself by your being a girl. There’s no way back for you Danny.”
“That’s ok Doctor, I always was a girl and a boy. I remember being a girl but I still remember being a boy; does that make sense? Doctor, you said the genetic destabilizer only affected Galifrians, so why did it affect me. Hey, you said I was mostly human!”
“You are the sum of both - Danny with a ‘y’ and Danni with an ‘i’ - you both existed, so both sets of memories are valid. In your distant past an ancestor of your’s was of my race, since the percentage of Galifrian genetic material was small it only knocked a few months off your physical age. The fusion greatly increased the percentage, but you are still mostly human and a young woman. From now on you are Danni and if anything a prettier, smarter and healthier version, I suspect. Who’s Penny?” he asked without warning.
“When we were little, my sister Penny and I looked enough alike to pass for each other, since then whenever I want to try something naughty, I call myself Penny. Wow, so Penny is my alias and my twin sister; this is so kewl Doctor!” Danni skipped over to the Doctor and kissed him on the cheek. Then she grabbed him and kissed him hard on the lips, their bodies pressed together. It felt a familiar gesture, why?
“I’m glad you remember who you are, Danni.”
“My sister wouldn’t do this, she must be in trouble. Ghod we only have Mom, Dad died when we were little. I feel sick Doctor, excuse…” Danni bent over with a violent stomach cramp and struggled to a bathroom were she threw up. She did this several times, and then she felt better. Danni rinsed her mouth out and returned.
“Feeling better now Danni?” she smiled back at him in response. “What did ‘Dad’ look like?”
“The one who drove with Mom and Sis to the college?”
“Who else? You’re smarter than that, Danni; concentrate for me, please. The effects of the transformation should be wearing off, fight them.”
“The Master, he hypnotized them and left me to bait the trap in Danny’s timeline, not knowing I’d trigger it and become Danni.”
“Smart girl, let’s go to college and save our family, my dear.” Our family? My dear?
“Crap I forgot, we’re married and I’m carrying our child!”

To be continued?
Well, that should inspire someone to clean up the mess I’ve made. The Doctor, a Human/Galifrian woman, married and pregnant; good grief — of course there is his granddaughter, hum?
Have fun. Tina, are you reading this?
