Looking for a particular story...

Maybe there's someone here that can help me find a particular story. If memory has it, it was about a boy who is kicked out of his home by a very mean father. He ends up going to live in a home he found in the forest that happens to be inhabited by a young female vampire or a ghost of some sort (not sure which - sorry) I do remember that his sister found him and was very supportive.

If anyone could point me to this story again I would certainly appreciate it.
