I'm reading Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley novels as I liked the TV series, and it's been long enough since I've seen the shows and my brain is small enough that I don't remember who done it. Anyway, one of the suspects said, "Hoist with my own petard" ("Payment in Blood" Ch 13) in response to being questioned about a previous lie that had been exposed. Of course I thought of Ceri's series and the Comments that people had made about petards and thought it was worth sharing.

I did a search for Elizabeth George as I wanted to get the chronological order of the novels. I was led to www.elizabethgeorgeonline.com which in addition to a listing of her novels has a detail discussion from her regarding her killing a major and really well liked character (http://www.elizabethgeorgeonline.com/messages_from_author.htm) and there is also an interview with her titled "Not Writing About What You Know" where she discusses not listening to readers (http://www.elizabethgeorgeonline.com/articles_interviews/int...).
