I pulled the mirror around so I could look at my face. I didn’t look any different. Same dark hair, same blue eyes, same slight cleft in my chin, and I still had the sharp cheekbones that made me look more Indian than I really was. I felt of my bicep; I still seemed to have my muscles, though I’ve never been a giant of a guy.

I didn’t see any reason why I couldn’t still play football if no one found out.
