does this kind of story exist?

so, i've seen a lot of stories that focus on a protagonist doing something wrong (either real or perceived) and being punished by being made into a girl and liking it along the way and so on and so forth.

What I'm curious is are their any stories where the new girl's identity takes on a life of its own and those orchestrating this punishment quickly discover they don't like the person she's becoming?

Alternatively, we see a lot of mothers/father's preffering the new girl over their old son. Are their any stories where they realize they don't want a daughter, but want their son back, however the new girl refuses to bow to their wishes?

I'm just curious because i think it'd be interesting to read a story where this kind of thing rapidly got out of hand and those involved realized they had no control over what was going on and didn't like the direction it was taking.
