Eye of the Beholder

By Rachel Anne Keller

Blood grows cold,

   Feelings warm.

Flesh grows old,

    Soul reborn.

One day dies,

   Another morn.

Ugly lies,

   Beauty suborn.

Soulless eyes,

   Pain adorn.

Hopeless ties,

   Life forlorn.

Desolate skies,

   Land storm torn.

Hope’s demise,

   Oblivion.
