It’s Easter again…….

And first, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. It is a beautiful day here, and we will be having dinner with all of children and their spouses. I hope that those who read this are having as good of an Easter as I am.

But the reason for this blog was a news item I read earlier today. Vice President J.D. Vance met with representatives from the Vatican this week. Apparently he is a convert to Catholicism, which is hilarious based on his political statements and his blatant prejudices. Evidently, he took issue with the Pope’s comments about the Trump administration’s actions regarding immigrants and deportation.

I am not Catholic, and in all honesty I am not even really much of a Christian -I was raised Lutheran, but lost my faith many years ago. One cannot see the things I have seen, live through the things I have lived through, and done the things that I have done and still believe in a benevolent God. No God who loves his people would allow the evil which permeates this world to exist. No God who cares about his people would allow them to suffer the way I have seen them suffer.

But my point in this posting is that I have always been amazed at how so very many, so-called Christians can act the way they do, can do the things they do, can mistreat their fellow mankind the way they do - and justify it with their so-called religious beliefs. Vance has just demonstrated exactly how big of a hypocrite he really is.

But there is no real surprise there.
