To all who have purchased my new book A Necessary Fiction (and thank you for that!)--

The conversion process duplicated some chapters' text and cut part of one. This was caught by Allison Z and thank you-thank you! I double-checked and it has been published again. The title page of the correct book reads: KBB2152

If you have purchased the book, check your updates. Log onto your Amazon account, go to "Manage Your Content and Devices" and then go to "Settings". Scroll down to "Automatic Book Update" and make sure it's set to "On". I believe that the next time you open your Kindle or Kindle software (assuming you have an internet connection), your copy will be updated (at no cost and pretty quickly).

I purchased my own copy, and after recovering from heart failure at seeing the duplications, and after uploading a clean manuscript (fingers crossed), I hope that within a few hours we all will have the proper, complete book. Once again, it will be version KBB2152

Assuming that the Norns that do the converting get it right this time ...

IIRC, sometimes when a Kindle book gets a significant update it is not automatically updated (even if you have automatic updates turned on). Instead past purchasers receive an email informing them that an update is available and providing a link to do the update.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}

Thank you Karin

My Kindles are only intermittently connected to the Internet and because you posted this I checked and found I have the early KBB2151 versions. Your post saved me frustration but I note the new version isn't yet on stream as an update unless the update doesn't change 2151 to 2152

The update has been done...

... on the UK Amazon site. At least the copy I just downloaded has the correct code (KB 2152) but I haven't read through the book to see if there are any errors.

Correction. the code on my copy IS KBB2152 as Karen says in her most recent post below. The UK Kindle site is up to date and you can buy with confidence.

It's Fixed!

The corrected version is KBB2152. It's there in the "Look Inside" on the book's Amazon page, and is now the version that is downloaded.

I spoke with Amazon yesterday; they said the "Automatic Book Update" (if set to On) takes, on average, 24 hours to "push" the updated book worldwide. However, if you are logged onto your Amazon account and go to "Contact Us" and select the telephone option, they will call you instantly (I mean, instantly!) or five minutes later. They will re-send to all your devices.

That's what I did last night so I know it works. It's a free call (well, mine was) and the whole thing took less than two minutes. My iPhone and iPad updated immediately but my Kindle hung up as "Pending". I called again today and they instantly updated it.

Sorry!

Yes, I noticed Jessie sort of

Yes, I noticed Jessie sort of 'appeared suddenly' and chapter 21 was repeated. Also chapter 32, Crandall & Chaffee, was the dupe text of chapter 31.
Glad it's been corrected.

My "automatic update" simply

My "automatic update" simply is not working. Is there any other option to get a corrected copy? Heck, I'll even buuy one but Amazon won't let me.
